JMBLYA Festival will be back for its eighth run in May, and artists like A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi Vert, and Playboi Carti will be headlining the 2020 event taking place in Dallas, Austin, and Houston. These hip-hop favourites are among good company on the traveling music festival’s stacked lineup. 2019 breakout stars like Lil Tecca, Lil Tjay, and Travis Scott‘s Cactus Jack signee, Don Toliver are among the billed artists performing at the Texas festival.

Fresh talent like Canadian-born bbno$, 18-year-old Dallas native Kaash Paige, and Harlem artist Delly will also be hitting up the festival’s eighth instalment to deliver some fire performances. However, some additional acts are only slotted to perform in one of the three Texan cities. Rapper Doeman will be taking the stage in Houston, while DJ and producer Joaqu.n will make an appearance in Austin, and newcomer Gwapmizzle is set to perform in Dallas.

JMBLYA will once again kick off at Fair Park in Dallas on Friday, May 1st before heading over to the Circuit of The Americas racetrack in Austin on May 2nd. The festival will be returning to Houston once again on Sunday, May 3rd after a hiatus in 2018 at the University of Houston’s TDECU Stadium Parking Lot. Tickets are available for purchase on the official JMBLYA website.

As we near the release of Lil Tecca’s Virgo World, the New York representative is trying his hand at a spelling bee, accepting an interviewer’s challenge on the street. The 17-year-old rapper hit the big leagues with his hit single “Ran$om” and, since then, he’s been following that formula to a tee. This year, he’s impacted his audience with “IDK” and that should have probably been his answer when asked if he could spell the word “chiropractor.”

When an interviewer approached him in the street, Lil Tecca was playing around with the man until he was asked to spell a word that he was not entirely familiar with. Perhaps Tecca has never needed the services of a chiropractor because, from the sounds of it, he’s never even heard the word in his life.

Sporting his signature glasses, which have caused some fans to think he’s a super-genius of sorts, Lil Tecca admitted that he is a pretty smart kid. Maybe he just isn’t that good in English class though because, when tasked with spelling the word “chiropractor,” he struggled royally. The teenager was bewildered before giving it a shot, messing up almost instantly. Good effort though!

Lil Tecca is planning on dropping his debut album, Virgo World, sometime during Virgo season, from August 23rd-September 22nd, in 2020. The 17-year-old rapper is currently riding the wave of his latest single, “IDK,” a self-produced track he dropped last week, but Tecca is still focused on crafting his next body of work. He already established himself with the release of his first project, We Love You Tecca, last August, but the New York native has big plans for his official debut album, Virgo World which, he confirms, is coming “soon.”

“The album is called Virgo World so it might be in that season,” Tecca noted in an interview with Apple Music’s Eddie Francis on Thursday. Born on August 26th, 2002, Tecca is a Virgo himself. “Ah, Virgo season,” Francis acknowledged, to which Tecca responded, “You know the vibes.” It looks like Tecca fans can expect his album to drop some time during those 31 days from August 23rd-September 22nd later this year.

Until then, Tecca has plenty of big plans in store for 2020. “Tour for the album, more singles, maybe a little pack before the album,” he listed. “A whole lot of visuals, new music, all vibes, literally.” Tecca will also be performing at Rolling Loud in Portugal this summer, which takes place from July 8th-10th. The stacked lineup includes acts like DaBaby, A$AP Rocky, Future, and more.

The first-ever iteration of Rolling Loud in Portugal is about to be historic. In the reign of the five-year hip-hop festival, Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif have brought Rolling Loud to Miami, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Australia, and other world destinations over the years. It’s time to bring the brand to the beach now, potentially creating a version of Fyre Festival that’s actually worth attending.

While this isn’t being advertised as a luxury fest, Rolling Loud is worth the price of admission solely for the experience of seeing all your favorite rappers in one spot. If you haven’t been able to grab tickets to the Miami dates coming up — and even if you have… — you’ll want to check out details for the upcoming version of the festival in Portugal, for which the lineup has just been announced.

Tickets for the Portuguese version of Rolling Loud, which is happening at Praia De Rocha Beach, are officially on sale and the line-up is nuts. This is the first-ever iteration in the European country, bringing headliners Wiz Khalifa, Future, and A$AP Rocky to the main stage from July 8 to 10. Further down the card, DaBaby, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Meek Mill, Rae Sremmurd, Roddy Ricch, Tyga, Lil Tecca, Lil Baby, Lil Uzi Vert, NLE Choppa, and many more have also been announced.

Twitter account, Culture Central, shared a tweet on Sunday that features photos of "36 of your favorite rappers as kids." It appears as though nearly all of the photos are from yearbooks or school photoshoots, and the ages of the artists range from as young as toddlers to as old as high school seniors. Though it got a few details wrong—the photo claiming to be T-Pain is actually a young Lil Jon, A$AP Rocky's dollar sign is missing from his name, 50 Cent has a dollar sign in his name, for some reason—that were pointed out by Twitter users in the replies, the post is mostly accurate. Photos of plenty of the best (and some of the most mid) of the rap game are included, from OGs to newcomers, and some who are no longer with us. 

With a new youth movement underway in hip-hop, many have set their sights on the rising crop of teenage emcees. On that note, XXL decided to stir up some good-old-fashioned discourse on that very topic, openly asking “who is the best rapper in their teens?” To make matters a little easier, they provided a few options: Lil Mosey, Lil Tjay, NLE Choppa, Domani Harris, Lil Tecca, and Lil Pump.

Naturally, the Troubleman himself, Tip Harris, slid into the comments to endorse his son’s lyrical prowess. “Honestly & Truly….Wishing all these young men the best… BUT AINT NOBODY FUCKIN WIT MY YOUNG MARTIAN,” he writes, all but glowing with pride. While Tip’s endorsement may feel like nepotism, Domani’s talent should not be glossed over; as evidenced by last year’s Time Will Tell, the young Atlanta rapper has an impressive mind for penning strong lyricism and assembling cinematic production.
