Talk about getting knocked off your high horse. On Saturday (June 6th), during a protest at Whitehall in Westminster, Central London, a police officer was riding a horse at full speed when she hit her head hard on a traffic light. The impact of the collision launched the cop into the air while the horse kept galloping along, causing the officer to smack right down on the pavement.
According to TMZ, the officer was knocked unconscious and taken to the hospital, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Some are claiming that the police horse went rogue because protesters were throwing "missiles" at the animal. A video from the rally shows someone hucking a bike at one of the horses, although it is unclear if this is the same horse that the female officer in question was knocked off of.
Additional footage from the scene shows the same horse running loose among the protesters, and it appears to have even trampled a pedestrian.
Yikes. Maybe leave the police horses at home next time you charge into a crowd of protesters? Seems like the best way to avoid this in the future.
Rihanna Now 3rd Richest Musician In UK After Moving To London Last Year
Rihanna ranks high on the UK’s annual list of its wealthiest music stars after purchasing a home in London, England, last year.
Rihanna hauled her wealthy self across the pond about a year ago, and this relocation means that she can officially be regarded—and evaluated—as a UK musician. Although Ms. Fenty has released little to no music in the past few years, she is still, first and foremost, a musical artist, and it turns out, one of the richest in the country. According to Britain’s Sunday Times, Rihanna sits in the third spot on the UK’s annual list of its wealthiest music stars, her first inclusion in the rankings since this move to London last year.

Beat only by two knighted gentlemen—Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber and Sir Paul McCartney, tied at No. 1 each with a net worth of £800 million, or approximately $985 million USD—Rihanna nabbed the third spot with a a net worth of £468 million, or approximately $576 million USD. Although the list recognizes the richest musicians, Rihanna’s wealth largely stems from the sales from her Fenty fashion and lingerie brands and her Fenty Beauty line.

Robert Watts, the man who compiled the list, points out how Rihanna’s position on the list reflects a “seismic change” occurring among the wealthy, as younger performers continue to rank higher and higher. “If you look through the yellowing pages of the first list in 1989, it looks like a rogues’ gallery of middle-aged and elderly white men,” Watts notes. “It was earls, dukes and figures from manufacturing and finance. Now money is being made in different ways, and by all sorts of different people – like Rihanna.”

Watts speculates that next year, though, the list will look a little different due to the current state of the music industry as a result of the pandemic. “The cancellations of tours and the pulling of albums mean it will be a thin year,” he said. “We expect most artists’ earnings to flatline but not for them to necessarily lose money, because the bulk of their wealth is already earned and safely in their bank accounts.” Check out the full list of the UK’s Wealthiest Music Stars below:
1. Lord Lloyd-Webber — £800m
1. Sir Paul McCartney — £800m
3. Rihanna — £800m
4. Sir Elton John — £360m
5. Sir Mick Jagger — £285m
6. Oli and Dhani Harrison — £270m
6. Keith Richards £270m
8. Sir Ringo Starr — £260m

Company Paying Volunteers To Be Infected With The Coronavirus
A London-based company is offering volunteers approximately $4,600 to be infected with the coronavirus.
A London-based company by the name of hVIVO is offering volunteers £3,507 ($4,588) in cash in order to be intentionally infected with the coronavirus, COVID-19. The research organization’s purpose is to create a definitive vaccine for the disease which has taken the lives of over 4,000 since its conception in Wuhan, China in Dec. 2019. With countries scrambling to take precautions against the life-threatening virus, there are now approximately twenty companies around the globe in search for a vaccine against COVID-19, according to The Times. For those interested, hVIVO is currently searching for at least two dozen volunteers who would be willing to be infected with the coronavirus and monitored at the Queen Mary BioEnterprises Innovation Centre in London. According to The New York Post, the human guinea pigs will be given a pair of the weaker strains of the virus, 0C43 and 229E, which will most likely cause mild respiratory problems for the participants. Following their intentional exposure to the virus, they will be new and old vaccines in order to determine which combination of medications are the most effective and most responsive.
During the volunteers’ time infected with the disease, they will be mandatorily quarantined for two weeks, eat a restricted diet, and avoid participating in any strenuous activity including exercise. hVIVO’s chief scientist, Andrew Catchpole, had this to say in a statement about utilizing human test subjects:
“Drugs companies can get a very good idea within a few months of starting a vaccine study whether it’s working or not, using such a small sample of people.”
hVIVO will begin their study as soon as they receive authorization from the UK’s Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency.
Nike Air Max 1 "City Pack" Pays Tribute To London & Amsterdam
Nike is gearing up for a very exciting Air Max Day.
Nike has always been good for a City pack or two. For those who don’t know, city packs are when you take a city and make a shoe based around it. Typically, these city packs come with multiple different cities and with Air Max Day on the horizon, Nike is making sure they celebrate it all the right way. A new city pack is coming out this week and it will represent two of Europe’s most vibrant cities. Of course, I am talking about London and Amsterdam.
These cities will be characterized through a Nike Air Max 1 that features numerous materials including suede and tumbled leather. The “Amsterdam” model will be made with greys and browns that complement each other very nicely. Meanwhile, the back heel features the outline of their Canals. The “London” offering has greys and blue with the Thames River on the back. Overall, both models represent their respective cities nicely and will be great additions to your collection if you live in one of these places or are a frequent traveler.
According to Sole Collector, both colorways will release on Thursday, March 19th for $160 USD.

Singaporean Student Wrongfully Beat Up Over Coronavirus
A Singaporean student was wrongfully assaulted in London over the coronavirus.
23-year-old, Jonathan Mok, was wrongfully beaten and assaulted after being accused of bringing the coronavirus to London. The UCL (University College London) student was walking down Oxford Street last Monday (Feb. 24), when he heard shouting about the novel coronavirus. After hearing remarks about his race and the COVID-19 virus, Mok decided to stand up for himself and was met by three to four men and woman who unleashed a surprise attack on the Singaporean collegiate student.

Mok has been living in London for the past two years for his collegiate studies and frequently returns to Singapore during holidays. During the incident, the student was instantaneously punched in the face twice and kicked by a group of unknown Londoners near the Tottenham Court Road station. London’s Metropolitan Police Service confirmed on Tuesday (March 2) that they are investigating the assault, but have made no arrest. During a brief interview with Channel News Asia, Jonathan Mok stated:
“I felt really angry … It is ridiculous people are being targeted for being Asian.”
Since Mok’s attack, the Singapore High Commission urged all Singaporeans to take precautions while in the UK and report any type of abuse to the local authorities. John Wok took to his Facebook page to write in-depth soliloquy about being racially discriminated against, part of his post reads:
“Last Monday, at roughly 9.15pm on Oxford Street in London, I walked past a group of young men, when I saw one of them look at me (just as he walked past me) and said something to me, which I could make out the word ‘coronavirus’. I was stunned and turned around to have a look at the man made the statement. He was still staring at me as he walked past and realised I was looking at him. He shouted ‘Don’t you dare look at me, you ____’ (I could not catch the last word because of the accent). Within 3 seconds, he was in my face, together with 3/4 other young men, and a young lady (all of whom seemed no older than 20 years old, but were all more than a head taller than me). I was shocked and angry because he directed a racist remark at me and had the audacity to shout at me like I had wronged him. All of a sudden, the first punch was swung at my face and took me by surprise. When I was still shocked by the first hit, the guy delivered the second sucker punch. By then, a few passers-by had stopped and one of them tried to reason with them that 4 on 1 was not fair. The attacker’s friend tried to swing a kick at me as I was explaining to the passer-by that I hadn’t done anything at all. I tried to react in self-defence but couldn’t do anything substantial because I was still recovering from a broken finger in my master hand. The guy who tried to kick me then said, ‘I don’t want your coronavirus in my country’”
While the President of the United States may believe the coronavirus is a hoax, major corporations have been taking hits from the spread from the disease and is leaving American citizens dead from the virus. Jonathan Mok’s targeted attack is not what society needs in order to battle this current pandemic, but is a result of ignorance about the deadly virus. With a vaccine allegedly developed, hopefully, humanity will be able to move past this egregious disease and move forward amicably.

Kendrick Lamar To Headline Huge London Festival As Album Rumors Circulate
This could be a sure sign Kendrick is dropping soon.
It looks like everyone is officially ready for the festival season. More and more organizers are unveiling their line-ups which is typically a good indication of who might be releasing new music this year. As rumors of Kendrick Lamar‘s follow-up to DAMN. circulate, UK’s British Summer Time Hyde Park festival announced that the Compton-bred rapper would be headlining on July 5th alongside James Blake and Brittany Howard as supporting acts. Along with BST Hyde Park Festival, Kendrick Lamar was also recently announced as a headliner at Dublin’s Longitude Festival this summer.
BST Hyde Park concert series is a London festival that takes place across two weekends with six concerts. They always draw in major names including Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, Celine Dion, Black Eyed Peas, and more. This year, they’ve also enlisted Taylor Swift, Pearl Jam, Kesha, Little Mix, and Rita Ora.
The announcement that Kendrick is headlining a massive show isn’t surprising since he has made appearances on the festival circuit in the off-years since DAMN. However, the rumors of a new project have been running rampant recently. A few weeks ago, journalist Bill Werde revealed that he heard Kendrick has finished working on his new album. Werde also said that he heard the project includes much more rock influences than previous albums.
Stay tuned for more K. Dot news.
