Ever since he entered the NBA in 2003, LeBron James has been compared to Michael Jordan. There are many young fans out there who think LeBron is the GOAT while others seem to think that MJ is the undisputed greatest of all time. Thanks to "The Last Dance" documentary, the MJ-LeBron comparisons have ramped up and have become an unhealthy obsession for many people.
In a recent interview, Charles Barkley attempted to shut these comparisons down as he spoke on LeBron and who he should really be likened to. As he explains, Magic Johnson is a better comparison while Kobe Bryant is the man who is closer to MJ.
“In my opinion, Michael the GOAT,” Barkley told "The Lefkoe Show." “And LeBron, to me, I’ve always said he’s closer to Magic Johnson than he is to Michael. I ain’t never gonna say anything bad about LeBron James, but the closest to Michael I’ve ever seen was Kobe. And what I mean by that is a guy who has a singular vision, like, I just want to win. I’m not worried what my teammates think. I’m not worried about what the coach think. I just want to win.”
Barkley's opinion shouldn't come as much of a shock to anyone although if you're a LeBron fan, you might get just a little defensive. Hopefully, we can all get along on this topic someday.

“After watching the last dance 10 episodes I bow down to. M. J,” wrote the rap legend on the ‘gram. “Magic is 2. M. J. Is 1 look at god.”
He went on to give props to Scottie Pippen, one of the most underappreciated players in history.
“FYI. @scottiepippen is top 50 all time hands down no Scottie no rings,” he added. “Realest 2 to the 1 sorta like snoop to Dre.”
This caps an action-packed weekend for Snoop Dogg, who has been all over the news recently. After it was reported that he was in an alleged sex tape with Celina Powell, Snoop Dogg was accused of snitching by none other than Tekashi 6ix9ine. He fought back and now, he’s back to regular programming.
Stephen A. Smith Gives Top 5 People MJ Should Be Thankful For
Stephen A. Smith has an interesting take on who Michael Jordan should be thanking for his career.
Stephen A. Smith is easily one of the most opinionated men in all of sports media and every so often, he comes through with some opinions that leave fans scratching their heads. Most recently, he went on First Take and gave a list of five people that Michael Jordan should be thankful for. You would think that most of these people would have to do with the Chicago Bulls but as it turns out, the list is actually quite the mixed bag and can be made open for debate.
As you can see from the clip below, it starts out with Smith ranking Phil Jackson fifth, Isiah Thomas fourth, Scottie Pippen third, Magic Johnson second, and David Falk first. All of these choices were backed up by some sound reasoning although you can't help but feel like maybe Scottie Pippen and Phil Jackson should be above guys like Thomas and Johnson.
It's impossible to accomplish anything all on your own and Jordan wasn't the exception to that rule. He had plenty of great partners and rivals over the years and those listed by Smith are all great options.
Fans might be particularly surprised by Falk's inclusion here but he is the man behind Jordan's Nike deal which has brought in billions of dollars over the years. Clearly, Falk is the unsung hero of Jordan's career.

The work Johnson’s company is doing is through the Small Business Administration PPP program and is in partnership with MBE Capital Partners.
“We knew why the money was gone and couldn’t trickle down to small businesses, especially small minority businesses, because they didn’t have those great relationships with the banks,” Johnson told the Wall Street Journal. “So this was easy for us to understand.
“This is, when you think about it, life and death for so many business owners. They have nowhere else to turn.”
Johnson has spoken about the COVID-19 outbreak before, comparing it’s impact on minority communities to that of HIV in the 1990s.
“When I think about this virus, it is completely different,” he prefaced to CNN, before continuing. “African Americans are leading in terms of dying from the coronavirus and most of them in the hospital are African American,” Johnson said. “We have to do a better job as African Americans to follow social distancing, stay at home and make sure we educate our loved ones and our family members and do what we’re supposed to do to keep safe and healthy. Then when you add that up, we don’t have access to health care, quality health care. So many of us are uninsured. That also creates a problem, too. Just like it did with HIV and AIDS.”

Tyrese Speaks On Black People Not Taking Health Seriously Before COVID-19
Tyrese spoke about Black people putting “a band-aid on something that needs medical attention” prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
There has been much said in the media about COVID-19 disproportionately affecting the Black community. While statistics are thrown around daily regarding marginalized communities being hit with an increase of cases, celebrities have stepped forward in an effort to use their platforms to encourage people to exercise precautions. Tyrese recently spoke with journalist April Ryan in an Instagram Live interview where he talked about how the Black community has dealt with health issues and mentioned certain noteworthy moments that changed their outlook.

“On that level, we had Magic Johnson, the most infamous and famous legendary iconic basketball player and then we had Eazy-E, and then it all hit home for us that maybe we are all capable of catching HIV-AIDS,” Tyrese said. “This is not a homosexual community problem. This is not a gay problem. HIV-AIDS can be contracted by everybody. And Black people never came to that ‘come to Jesus’ moment until these two Black significant iconic Black men had announced [it].”
Tyrese added that the world witnessed how quickly Eazy-E passed away following him learning of his diagnosis. “With that being said, we are dying by the numbers,” he said. “We wasn’t going to do a regular doctor’s check-up before [coronavirus]. We never had insurance before [coronavirus]. We would go and do any and everything we could to put a band-aid on something that we know needs medical attention.” Watch the clips of Tyrese and April Ryan below and let us know if you agree with him on this.

Magic Johnson Confirms Both He & Kobe Bryant Will Receive Docs Like "The Last Dance"
Magic Johnson revealed that a documentary about him and Kobe Bryant, much like “The Last Dance,” is on the way.
Sports fans can’t stop talking about ESPN’s Chicago Bulls documentary The Last Dance. Viewers have been taking a trip down memory lane as they relive the last season Michael Jordan played for the Midwest team, causing other sports stars who witnessed those experiences live and in color to reminisce about those glory days. Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson recently chatted with Entertainment Tonight about The Last Dance and during the conversation he was asked about Kobe Bryant. According to the NBA icon, there will “definitely” be a documentary about Kobe that follows along the same line as ESPN’s recent offering.

“That’s definitely going to happen,” Magic Johnson said. “I think he was smart enough to have a camera follow him, document every movement… so we are going to see a lot of behind-the-scenes things on Kobe and probably let us into his world with his family.” Following Bryant’s documentary will come one about Magic, himself.
“I’m coming after Kobe!” Magic said, also noting that his film will highlight his work on the court, his business career, and his home life. “You get the basketball part of it, but then also how I reinvented myself and how I went into business and what I’m doing today, so it will all come into this documentary. I’m looking forward to it.”
Magic Johnson Names Michael Jordan & Three Others As "Greatest Entertainers"
Magic Johnson shared that he was impressed by "The Last Dance" Chicago Bulls miniseries and named his favorite entertainers of his lifetime.
The Last Dance is the documentary that has sports fans tuned in to all things Chicago basketball. ESPN first announced the series nearly two years ago and over the weekend, we finally received the first two episodes. The series focuses on the Chicago Bulls during their 1997-1998 season where they were not only dominating the NBA, but experiencing the last year basketball icon Michael Jordan played as a Bull. The "Greatest of All Time" discussion once again resurfaced, causing fans to break out their Twitter fingers over who is a better baller between M.J. and Lebron James.
Another M.J. who has carved out his name in NBA history is Magic Johnson, and he took to Twitter to share a few thoughts of his own. "Michael Jordan’s Last Dance was fantastic and I loved all two hours of it!! Young fans that never got to see Michael play now understand why he’s the Goat of basketball!" the Los Angeles Lakers legend tweeted.
Magic Johnson went on to name his top entertainers, and he made sure to narrow down the timeframe. "For me? Michael Jordan, Michael Jackson, and Beyoncé are the three greatest entertainers of my lifetime; and you could probably throw Muhammad Ali in there." Do you agree with him? Who are your top three (or four) entertainers (of your lifetime)?
Magic Johnson Explains Who’s Hurt Most By The NBA Shutdown
The uncertainty of the NBA shutdown could have huge implications on teams who were destined for a title.
For the last two weeks, the NBA has been completely shut down. We have had no games to watch and news is pretty dry. At this point, the only thing we have left to write about is the antics that the players are engaging in at home. Listen, things could certainly be a lot worse. We are simply being asked to stay inside until further notice. Once this thing is over, we will all go back to normal except this time, with a whole new lease on life.
With the NBA shutdown in mind, there are certainly some consequences to consider. For instance, the league may have to cancel the season. If this were to happen, some of the best teams in the entire league would be affected. Magic Johnson made note of this on First Take today as he explained how the Los Angeles Lakers and Milwaukee Bucks are hurt most by this hiatus.
Johnson's reasoning is quite simple as he notes that both teams were at the top of their games when the league suspended operations. If the league were to return, the layoff could make both teams rusty. Essentially, the wind has been knocked from their sails and the momentum is no longer there. Also, if the season is cancelled, their efforts will have been for nothing.
Hopefully, a full cancellation doesn't have to happen. However, if things don't get better, it may just happen.
