Things took a turn over on Instagram earlier today (June 11) after Marlon Wayans and Terrence J joined each other on Live. “Listen, let me just school you on something, young man," Terrence said to Marlon in the clip "This ain’t all about your family, okay? Your family can’t bail you out of this one, alright. There’s other people in the world that are not Wayans’ people."
Marlon Wayans went on to defend his famous Wayans brood and a little heated exchange followed, and fans weren't happy with Terrence J and his approach. He was heavily criticized throughout multiple social media platforms as thousands of people insulted him from head to toe, so the two actors returned in a video together to share that the whole conversation was nothing but a joke.
Terrence explained that Marlon is one of his best friends and they were just kidding, highlighting things that haters will say. He also noted, "for the record," that he has respect for all members of the Wayans family and would never seriously disrespect them. Check out a few post-skit clips of Terrence J and Marlon Wayans explaining their exchange below.

“Listen, let me just school you on something, young man," Terrence tells Marlon, who attempts to interject. "This ain’t all about your family, okay? Your family can’t bail you out of this one, alright. There’s other people in the world that are not Wayans’ people." Marlon, of course, is one of the members of the well-known Wayans family in Hollywood.
“Let me tell you something about family, I don’t ever need them to bail me out of nothing,” Marlon told Terrence. “They raised me. If you ever think I’m great because of me, you’re wrong. I’m great because of the tribe—you’re gonna respect the tribe." As they both continued to speak over one another, Terrence asked him, “you can’t talk to me for two seconds?”

“Nah, because you’re disrespecting the culture.” Marlon replied, after asking the host to name another family that has done what the Wayans have done in Hollywood. “Get off of Keenan Ivory Wayans’ lap for just two seconds,” Terrence told him, referring to Marlon's older brother. "Bro, some of us have to make it on our own, that’s all I’m saying. We can’t have our family to f*cking lifting us up all the time. Bro, some of us gotta make it on our own." They argued back and forth about wealth and hard work before Marlon tried to tell Terrence, "I just want to talk intellectually for a second and now the wine is talking and I’m trying to have a conversation with you." Terrence did not budge, though, declaring that, "the Wayans family ain’t got it like us" before the screen-recorded clip ended.
Tons of folks had a lot to say about this heated dispute, many of them taking the side of the Wayans' clan.
Kim Wayans "Looked To Her Brothers" To Define Who She Was
Kim Wayans has had a long career with many accomplishments and she reflected on her 20s with BET for their webseries.
“Wayans” is a powerful family tree in the entertainment industry. With decades of successful careers under their belts, many of the Wayans crew have established themselves as formidable forces in front of and behind the camera. Siblings Keenen, Damon, Marlon, Shawn, and Kim are just a handful of successful Wayans continuing their paths in the industry. The famous Wayans sister recently chatted with BET for their In My Twenties series and she reflected on what her career was like back in her In Living Color days alongside her family.

I was very much a teenager in so many different ways.” Kim stated that in today’s culture, entertainers have so many ways to get noticed or to create opportunities for themselves. However, back when she was making a way in the industry, it was a bit more difficult not to be boxed in by the movers and shakers.
“Certain things are asked of you to do as a black actress and it really wasn’t all that thrilling and all that exciting,” she said. “It’s nice to see now all these opportunities and all these different ways of seeing black people and black women, in particular, that’s really great.” Kim also dropped off a bit of wisdom for creatives navigating their careers.
“Trust your own voice,” said Kim. “When I was young like that, I didn’t really trust my voice. I looked to my brothers, I looked to other people to basically tell me who I was. Deep inside, I knew who I was and I knew what I wanted to do, but when you’re young like that, sometimes it’s hard to trust that.” Watch Kim Wayans’s In My Twenties below.
Aretha Franklin’s Son Lashes Out At Biopic Producers, Asks Fans Not To Support Film
He claims no one has asked the singer’s family for input.
MGM’s forthcoming biopic about late soul singer Aretha Franklin is a film that Motown fans can’t wait to see on the silver screen, but not everyone is praising the film for tackling the life of the Queen of Soul. Over the last few months, we’ve received behind-the-scenes sneak peeks at production thanks to the paparazzi, showing powerhouse vocalist Jennifer Hudson starring as the late icon.
Forest Whitaker, Marlon Wayans, and Mary J. Blige are just a few notable names in the star-studded cast, but while they have been working diligently to create a buzz-worthy film, Franklin’s family is apparently less than enthused with the production. The late singer’s youngest son Kecalf Franklin wrote a scathing post on Facebook condemning the creators of the biopic for excluding the Franklin family.
“ONCE AGAIN….. THE FRANKLIN FAMILY (DOES NOT) SUPPORT THE MOVIE THAT IS IN PRODUCTION!!!!!” Kecalf wrote. “NOR DO WE SUPPORT THE BOOK ‘THE QUEEN NEXT DOOR’!!!!! NEITHER ENTITY FELT THE NEED TO CONTACT THE (CORE) FAMILY ABOUT ANYTHING!!!! HOW CAN YOU MAKE A MOVIE ABOUT A PERSON AND NOT TALK TO THE PERSONS SONS OR GRANDCHILDREN ABOUT IMPORTANT INFORMATION? HOW CAN YOU PUT A PERSONS FAMILY (IMAGE) IN A BOOK AND NOT ASK PERMISSION?”
Kecalf then speaks directly to those who have supported Aretha Franklin throughout her career. “IF YOU ARE A ‘REAL’ FAN OF MY MOTHERS….PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS. ASK YOURSELF.…WOULD YOU WANT THIS DONE TO YOU? (side note: the ‘ONLY’ person my mother was in favor of for the movie was JENNIFER HUDSON. period. Everything else is being done against our wishes) (please share) THE ‘REAL’ FRANKLIN FAMILY (sons and grandchildren).”
The Franklin family have been at odds since the passing of Aretha as they attempt to figure out how to distribute her estate. Sabrina Owens, Aretha’s niece, has been named as the estate’s executor, but Kecalf has written a petition asking to be granted the title, instead.
