Companies are dropping the hammer on their employees left and right, especially those in the entertainment business. Celebrities and social media influencers are purging their social media pages of old tweets and images now that people are being fired from shows and removed from their workplaces. Bravo TV recently axed four cast members from their mega-hit show Vanderpump Rules, and in the last few days, MTV has fired two reality stars of their own.
Dee Nguyen is a fixture on MTV's The Challenge and is even a cast member on the season currently airing, but her recent tweets about Black Lives Matter rubbed people the wrong way. "Idk why some of u think I’m anti BLM. I’ve been saying that since the day I lost my virginity," she wrote in a since-deleted tweet. In another post on Instagram about George Floyd, she told a user that "people died every f*cking day," suggesting that his death wasn't significant.
Later, Taylor Selfridge, star of her Teen Mom OG At Home: Cory & Taylor’s Baby Special alongside her MTV reality star boyfriend Cory Wharton, was in hot water after old tweets of hers from 2012 were brought to the attention of the masses. "We have to greet everyone at work but sometimes I won’t greet the Black people because they scare me," and "My uncle is dating an Asian. Aunt Ping please make me sushi," Selfridge wrote. Wharton later stated that he was disappointed in MTV's decision and didn't like that his girlfriend was being painted to be something he says she isn't. Other reality stars from the network are calling out their castmates for past behaviors, asking MTV to take action.
Tory Lanez Says MTV Offered Show For "Quarantine Radio"
Tory Lanez might be taking his Instagram Live series to the big leagues.
If there’s one thing that kept people sane for the first few weeks of self-isolation, it has been Tory Lanez‘ Quarantine Radio. The rapper’s IG Live stream hosted twerk sessions, contests, and celebrity cameos with Tory serving as the host. Truth be told, it was a wild time that provided endless amounts of entertainment for all. It garnered so much traction, that his 5-min interview with Drake had 300k users tuning in at the same time.
Apparently, even though this was started out of sheer boredom of being locked inside of the house, it would turn out to be a bigger flex for Tory than anyone expected. In a recent interview with Billboard, he revealed that the traction has been so real that he’s received offers from some of the biggest networks to turn his IG Live series into a full-blown television show.
“MTV offered me something like a little 30-minute segment, but I don’t know what I want to do,” he revealed. “But I want it to be something that the fans decide. If I end up coming up with an idea for it, hopefully, it’ll be on MTV.”
Perhaps this is the flex after he’s done with music, though that doesn’t appear to be an option for him in the near future, especially with the success of New Toronto 3.
MTV Is Now Uploading Full Episodes Of "Cribs" & "Punk’d" To YouTube
MTV has you covered for all of your quarantine entertainment needs.
These past few weeks have been extremely difficult as we are all locked up in our homes, trying to make it through this quarantine unscathed. It’s easy to get anxious during these trying times and we hope all of our readers out there are taking care of their mental health and staying physically healthy as well.
When you’re all alone in the house, it’s important to find good entertainment that will help you push through all of the bad things that are going on right now. Well, it looks like MTV has people covered as the network has started posting full episodes of old shows on their MTV Vault YouTube page. If you have nostalgia for classic shows like “Cribs” and “Punk’d,” you are going to be absolutely elated to know that the full episodes of these programs are up online, as we speak.
These MTV classics were institutions back in the day and there is no denying their influence on some of the media that we consume now. Among some of the episodes of “Cribs” that you can find on YouTube are the ones with 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg. There are now hours worth of old episodes online and this will certainly help you get through the quarantine blues.
Hopefully, MTV will continue to upload even more episodes throughout the next few weeks.

Doja Cat & Big Daddy Kane "Turn Up For What" On "Wild ‘N Out"
Doja Cat & Big Daddy Kane represent New School and Old School squads on an upcoming episode of “Wild ‘N Out.”
A hip hop legend has taken to the Wild ‘N Out stage. Big Daddy Kane is a rap icon who first stepped into the music scene in the mid-1980s. He gave us classics like “Ain’t No Half Steppin’,” “Smooth Operator,” and “I Get The Job Done,” and now he’s making an appearance on Nick Cannon‘s long-running MTV show. Also on the upcoming episode is Doja Cat who leads the “New School Squad” against Kane’s “Old School Squad.”
Wlid ‘N Out shared a clip of the two teams facing off in a game of Turn Up for What. There were a few hits and misses, including silence after a comedian took a shot at Lizzo. He said there was a time when he didn’t like “big girls” but “after seeing Lizzo’s ass, I like girls with the same body as me.” Doja followed and took aim at people calling her a “cow”—a reference to her viral “Moo” hit—letting people know that she stays “milking the game.”
Doja has much to celebrate as of late, especially considering her Hot Pink hit “Say So” has been taking over airwaves. After becoming a TikTok viral dance video, “Say So” went on to earn Doja Cat her first Top 10 single and was certified Platinum. Check out a clip of Big Daddy Kane and Doja Cat on Wild ‘N Out below.
T.I.’s Son King Harris Brags About Bands In "Wild N Out" Clip
T.I.’s 14-year-old son King Harris appeared on Nick Cannon’s “Wild ‘N Out” and let it be known that his money game is locked.
How quickly they grow up. T.I. is a star all his own, but his children have become celebrities in their own right. As he and his wife Tiny continue to showcase their family and friends on their reality television shows, their children are forced into the limelight. Over the years, a few have followed in their celebrity parents’ footsteps, including King Harris.
Last year, the 14-year-old made his rap debut with his track “Drip,” and now he’s continuing to move outside of T.I. and Tiny’s shadow with another solo appearance. The teen was a featured guest on Nick Cannon‘s long-running hit MTV series Wild ‘N Out. Cannon and his crew continue to bring the comedy, and in the clip they shared on social media, King Harris proved that he could keep up with the rest of the cast.
Everyone was playing the “It’s My Birthday” where members of the black and red teams did their best to draw in the laughs with just a few lines. The red team seemed to dominate that round of jokes, but King did his best at making up for his team’s losses. Check out the clip of King’s brief appearance to the comedy round below.
Jermaine Dupri Reflects On "Tone Def" Singers At "Making The Band" Audition
Jermaine Dupri was one of many famous guests ho stopped by to help Diddy pick and choose his next set of "Making the Band" talent.
Making the Band is underway and over the weekend, Diddy and the Combs Cartel launched the first set of auditions. The reboot of the music mogul's famed MTV series has garnered responses from thousands of aspiring artists hoping for their big break. While in the ATL, there were a few guest judges were there to help rate the singers including Monica, Dallas Austin, Jermaine Dupri, Pierre Thomas, Coach K, Quavo, and Brian Michael Cox.
It's safe to say that since those original Making the Band days, music culture has shifted. There has been a rise in independent artists experimenting with new sounds and paving their own successful career with the use of the internet alone, but with all of the evolution comes a few drawbacks. Jermaine Dupri took to his Twitter to reflect on the Making the Band auditions and shared some thoughts.
"One of the things that I notice and learned going to the #makingoftheband try outs, is that kids are using auto tune so much, the understanding of being tone def is gone and people be singing in all kinda keys," the So So Def founder wrote. "Lol this is really a epidemic." Diddy made it clear that he's looking for R&B singers who are going to bring down the house, so hopefully there were a few that made Jermaine's cut. Do you agree with him?
Danity Kane’s D. Woods Was "Miserable" On "Making The Band"
Danity Kane is one of the most successful acts from “Making the Band,” but D. Woods doesn’t remember her time on the show fondly.
As Diddy revives his hit show Making the Band over a decade after the last season ended, some of his former contestants are speaking out about their experiences. Danity Kane is hailed as the most successful act to come from the MTV series, but not all of the ladies share fond memories of their time on reality television. Aubrey O’Day previously told Diddy to finish what he started with the acts he’s already helped shape, and now Danity Kane’s D. Woods tells Page Six that she was “miserable” on the series.

Danity Kane has reunited in recent years, but only with three of its members. Wanita “D. Woods” Woodgett decided not to rejoin her former girl group as she continues to grow her career in the entertainment industry. Prior to joining Making the Band in 2005, Woods said she was an intern at 40 Acres and a Mule, Spike Lee’s production company, and worked at radio station Power 1015.1. She’d even gone on tour as a dancer for Bow Wow and Snoop Dogg.
“It was a hard part of my life,” said Woods. “It was not pleasant.” Danity Kane won a record contract with Bad Boy following Making the Band, but Woods claims it was rigged. “[I] knew so much about the industry but really [couldn’t] apply any of it,” she said. “I had no leverage. Nobody cared.” Diddy has been criticized for some of the things that he said to the Danity Kane ladies about their appearances, and Woods recalled when the music mogul told her he was just “a burger away” after questioning her about her stomach and asking her if she’s “feeling a little thick.”
“Do you know how long people would stop me on the street and say, ‘You must have lost a lot of weight,’ and I’ll be like, ‘No, I am actually the same size.” She made it clear to Page Six that she wouldn’t be tuning in to watch Diddy’s forthcoming Making the Band reboot.
Doja Cat Hires Choreographer, Won’t Be "Twerking All The Time"
Doja Cat stooped by “Fresh Out Live” to talk about her forthcoming, sold-out Hot Pink Tour and hit song “Say So.”
On the heels of her much-talked-about The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon performance of her hit song “Say So,” Doja Cat continues to dominate. On Thursday (February 27), Doja released the disco-inspired music video for “Say So” and on Friday (February 28), the singer-rapper visited MTV’s Fresh Out Live to chat about her chart-climbing single and her sold-out tour.

The Hot Pink Tour kicks off on March 25 and will feature other female artists including rappers Ashnikko and BigKlit. “I think it’s important to put women on, to give them an opportunity to get their bag and express themselves, but I picked them because I like them,” Doja said. “I think they’re very talented and I think they deserve it, because of their talent.”
Fans planning on attending the sold-out Hot Pink Tour will see that Doja has switched things up for her stage show. “I have a choreographer now, because I love you guys but I’m not gonna be going back and forth and twerking all the time. No more of that, she’s dancing now,” the artist said.
Doja also took the time to acknowledge TikToker Haley Sharpe who choreographed the dance moves to “Say So,” making the track a viral hit. “Thank you Haley, I love you so much. I wish she was here. I am so excited about this,” said Doja. “I’m so excited about the success that it’s made. I didn’t know people liked disco so much… That’s really really cool. I’m so grateful, it feels great.” Check out Doja Cat’s appearance on MTV’s Fresh Out Live below.
Birdman Explains How Nicki Minaj Broke The Cycle For Females
Birdman sits down with Complex ahead of Spotify’s “New Cash Order” launch where he details Nicki Minaj’s impact.
Birdman has always held Nicki Minaj at high regard but it sounds like he wants the rest of the rap game to do the same. Speaking to B. Dot with MTV News, Birdman spoke about the reign of Cash Money ahead of their new Spotify series, “New Cash Order.” Regardless of how you feel about Baby’s business practices, you can’t deny that his ear for talent in unmatched and Nicki Minaj is a prime example of that.

“Honestly, I don’t think Nicki gets the credit she deserves. I come in an era when females, it was hard for ’em. She come broke the chain. Nicki broke the cycle for females,” he said. “Nicki did more than any female artist, ever. And you have a lot of great artists before Nicki Minaj. But Nicki Minaj changed the game for females. “
He then went on to explain Nicki Minaj’s work ethic. “Nicki used to be in the studio with nine, ten n***as every night with us in Miami,” he said. “Every single night, putting in the body of work to become who she became. So, I don’t think Nicki gets the credit she deserves, but you know, time tells all.”
Nicki’s undoubtedly shifted the game in her own right but perhaps the next studio album she releases will gain her the respect and recognition that Birdman believes she should receive.
Romeo Miller Quits "Growing Up Hip Hop" Over "Fake Love Triangle": Report
He’s rumored to have a new girlfriend, as well.
For those of you who may be keeping up with Growing Up Hip Hop, it’s obvious that Romeo Miller has changed this season. Since the series launched in 2016 on WeTV, much of Romeo’s storyline has been focused on a potential budding romance between him and Angela Simmons. This year, however, the pair aren’t friends, and while Romeo has continuously taken to social media to come against how he’s being portrayed on Growing Up Hip Hop, the young rap mogul can’t seem to dodge criticism from the public.

Romeo acts as an executive producer of the show, but according to an exclusive report by TheJasmineBRAND, Romeo has quit the series. The outlet states they’ve spoken to a source who revealed Romeo and the production crew have been at odds. “Romeo nor his father (Master P) would never go against their morals for money for any network,” the person reportedly said. “He hasn’t been on much of this season and is focusing on his many businesses, career and his love life with new girlfriend. Romeo has nothing against the cast, they’re just growing apart and he rather explore the truth not a fake love triangle that the network is dragging out.”
Over on his Instagram profile, Romeo removed the series from his list of current projects. About an hour ago he wrote a lengthy caption to promote MTV’s Ex on the Beach, a show Romeo has been a host of since 2018. “I still remember when I left to film my MTV show @exonthebeach in New Zealand. It was a last minute decision and I had to clear my entire schedule including Co hosting GMA for the month,” Romeo wrote. “I was on my best training regime to date, it was finally summer, the girl I liked started showing interest and my beard started to finally grow in ha.”
“My message; don’t be afraid to step away from your comfort zone,” he added. “God’s plans are much greater than ours. I’m happier and wiser after my experience on the other side of the world. Stay focus and everything will work it self out. That’s my key ingredient for success, big faith.” Check it out below.
