We've been lucky enough to make it through this pandemic with a ton of good music. Artists are doing their best to release a bunch of fire new sounds for us to enjoy, doing God's work and giving us some much-needed entertainment during these rough times. This week brought us so many vibes and the new TIDAL Wave playlist update reflects what was playing in our homes -- the staff of HNHH.
Every week, we gather our favorite new musical offerings for a TIDAL-exclusive playlist and this time around, we've got all of the best new songs in a concise list for you.
TIDAL Wave starts off with the brand new collaboration between Gunna and Young Thug, "DOLLAZ ON MY HEAD." Their second track on WUNNA is also included further down the playlist. We're also giving you "TOP FLOOR" with Travis Scott, "COOLER THAN A BITCH" with Roddy Ricch, and a few solo efforts.
As for Future, we're still bumping that new High Off Life album heavy. We've added "Trillionaire" with Youngboy Never Broke Again, "All Bad" with Lil Uzi Vert, and others.
For stand-alone singles, the staff has been enjoying a lot of everything. Some of us are diving into the new iann dior, others are going for Ludacris' collaboration with Lil Wayne, and others are bumping the new Medhane. Like we said, a lot of everything.
Let us know your thoughts on this week's update and be sure to subscribe to your free trial of TIDAL here.

Nav Celebrates "Turks" Going Gold
Nav, Gunna, and Travis Scott’s “Turks” has officially gone gold, a testament to the Canadian rapper’s rising status.
It’s fair to say that Nav has come a long way, having recently enjoyed his most successful album thus far in Good Intentions. With his album having debuted at number one on the Billboard charts, it feels as if Nav is finally gaining traction as a commercially ble name. It may very well be off the strength of the album’s lead single “Turks,” which featured two fellow heavy-hitters in Travis Scott and Gunna — the same trio that brought “Yosemite” into the world, one of Astroworld’s standout cuts.

Now, “Turks” has begun forging a legacy of its own. Nav took to Instagram to reveal that the track has officially gone gold, making this one his seventh plaque as a leading artist. “Turks just went gold! Thank u to my fans and the gang,” writes a grateful Nav on his Instagram, drawing praise from his collaborator Gunna in the comment section.
At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before Good Intentions starts climbing closer toward gold certification, though it’s unclear whether it has the legs to hit platinum. In any case, it’s still cool to see the Canadian artist building his collection of hits, and it’s highly likely that “Turks” will not be his last. What do you think — are you still bumping Good Intentions?
Nav’s "Good Intentions" Debuts #1 On Billboard 200
Kehlan and Lil Durk join Nav in the top 5 on the Billboard 200.
Since Nav emerged into the rap game, he’s been a target of many jokes and memes. Many of them are personal while others take aim at the quality of his music but despite all of that, he’s continued to prove that he’s a commercial giant. Bad Habits debuted at the top of Billboard 200 becoming his first number one album in his career. With the release of Good Intentions, many wondered if he was capable of doing it again.
Billboard reports that Nav’s latest album has earned him his second consecutive chart-topping album. The project debuted at #1 with an impressive 135K units sold in the first week. “I want to start off by thanking my family, friends, @cashxo, @theweeknd, all the artists and producers involved and who could forget my LEGENDARY FANS!! #1 again!!! XO,” he wrote on Twitter in response to his latest feat. Likely due to both merch bundles and a deluxe edition released shortly after, Nav’s proved that he isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
Aside from Nav, Kehlani and Lil Durk also had major weeks. Kehlani’s latest project, It Was Good Until It Wasn’t debuted at #2 with 85K, her biggest opening week to date. Lil Durk’s Just Cause Y’all Waited 2 marked his second album to debut in the top five as it hit #5 on the chart.
HNHH TIDAL Wave: 6ix9ine, Drake, Kehlani, & NAV Shine This Week
This week's playlist update includes new music from Migos, Lil Tjay, Lil Durk, Chris Brown, Young Thug, and many more.
Damn, what an interesting week for new music. As we were all dissecting the Drake mixtape and Chris Brown and Young Thug's collaborative project, the hip-hop world exploded when none other than the self-proclaimed King of New York, Tekashi 6ix9ine, returned with a new single. That's where things start off in the new TIDAL Wave playlist update.
Every week, the HNHH staff goes over all of the recent releases in hip-hop and R&B, putting together a list of our favorite bops and packaging them together for your enjoyment.
Last week, Drake ruled the playlist and, seven days later, he's still maintained a good number of his spots. From the Dark Lane Demo Tapes, we're featuring "Time Flies," "Landed," and more.
Of course, this update would be nothing if not for last week's new album releases. We were blessed with new music from Kehlani, who takes up multiple spots on TIDAL Wave. NAV also came through with an effort that surprised a lot of people, earning several spots as well. Another star rapper, Lil Durk, also finds his way on the list.
Check out the playlist below and let us know who has your favorite picks. If you're not signed up to TIDAL yet, take advantage of their free 60-day trial here.

NAV, Kehlani, & Lil Durk First Week Sales Projections
NAV is expected to have the highest-selling debut of the week, next to Kehlani and Lil Durk.
Music fans are starting to think about how the Billboard Hot 100 will look in a week’s time when Tekashi 6ix9ine‘s “GOOBA” and Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande‘s “Stuck With U” both debut on the chart. However, there is also a fight happening on the Billboard 200 with three new projects looking to grab that top spot.
Last week, we saw new albums from NAV (Good Intentions), Kehlani (It Was Good Until It Wasn’t), and Lil Durk (Just Cause Y’all Waited 2). All three had hoped to debut at the top spot but only one of them is looking to have a credible possibility of capturing that position.
According to Hits Daily Double, NAV is leading the way as far as new releases go. His album Good Intentions is poised to move approximately 70-75K equivalent album units. With the deluxe version arriving today, that number may even go up a touch.
Kehlani is next in line, earning a strong first week with around 60-65K equivalent album units moved.
Finally, Lil Durk ends up in third place, moving approximately 45-50K units.
Of course, NAV may not end up debuting at the top spot on the Billboard 200. Drake‘s Dark Lane Demo Tapes previously peaked at #2 behind Kenny Chesney and there is a chance that his mixtape sells enough in its second week out for it to move up a spot.
Congratulations to all three debuting artists on the Billboard 200.

Nav Speaks On Beef With Akademiks & Talks Racism He’s Endured In The Industry
Nav recently released “Good Intentions,” and to help promote the album, he recently conducted an interview where he touched on the beef he had with Akademiks earlier this year.
At the top of 2020, a brief war of words sparked between Nav and DJ Akademiks. The Good Intentions rapper tweeted, “Akademiks hop on and off d*ck so much he prolly got STDs,” which caused Akademiks to release a barrage of insults and tweets about his foe. It was over as quickly as it began, and in a recent interview with Complex, Nav explained what brought on the beef.
Nav admitted that a casual conversation he was having with his friends at home prompted him to send out the random tweet. “To be honest, I felt bad for him that I beat him that bad,” he said. “He’s probably really tight about it. What can I do? It is what it is. It’s not like he’s gonna stop anything I got going on.”
He was asked if he believes he endures racism in the music industry, and the interviewer brought up the example of Nav previously accusing Akademiks of intentionally misspelling his name. “For sure,” said Nav of dealing with racism. “It’s just like, [people] saying my music is for people who work in 7-11s or some sh*t like that. It’s crazy… It’s offensive.”
Elsewhere, Nav also touched on not taking insults to heart. “What people think about don’t get me paid. You don’t care, I don’t care,” he said. “But there’s an element… I feel like there’s a race wall. Like, I’m hitting a wall with the race thing. Maybe ’cause I’m Indian or something, I don’t know. It’s cool because I feel like when I first came out, my first fans, my small following was ready for something like me and they weren’t used to it. Now that I’m on this global scale, new people see it and they’re like, they don’t understand me.” Watch Nav’s interview below.
Nav Reveals Future Recorded His "My Business" Verse In 30 Minutes
Nav was so impressed with how fast Future managed to record and send back his verse for their collab “My Business” off Nav’s new album, “Good Intentions.”
Nav could not believe how quickly Future sent back a perfectly polished verse for their collab “My Business” off the Canadian rapper’s freshly-dropped album, Good Intentions. The XO artist came through with his latest release at midnight on Friday (May 8th), and among the many features on the project including Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Gunna, Lil Durk, Don Toliver, and the late Pop Smoke, was the prolific Future. The Atlanta man hopped on Nav’s “My Business” with a clean, energetic verse, and you’d never know from the way he bodied it that it actually took him only half an hour to execute.

Following the release of Good Intentions, Nav sat down for a virtual chat with Ebro on Friday to discuss his new music. In a clip shared by HipHopNMore, Ebro asks Nav just how big of a collab the Future joint was for him, to which he responds, “honestly, that’s easily one of my top three artists.”
“I listen to him a lot, I relate to him,” he continued. “I just love everything about his music.” He went on to reveal just how fast Future recorded and sent back the already highly-regarded verse. “It was crazy how quick he sent that verse back, it was like 30 minutes,” Nav said. “I’ve never seen anybody record quicker than him.” Stream and if you haven’t already, check out “My Business” below:
Stream NAV’s New Album "Good Intentions" W/ Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Pop Smoke, & More
NAV releases his new album “Good Intentions” with features from Travis Scott, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Pop Smoke, Young Thug, Lil Durk, Gunna, and more.
Toronto native NAV has been itching to release some new music for weeks. He admitted that quarantine had him feeling antsy, announcing his plans to release his new album Good Intentions to allete some of the madness. After a series of leaks by his manager Cash, the XO Records star has officially returned with a brand new body of work.
Spanning 50-minutes and 18 songs, the brand new NAV album Good Intentions has arrived. The title of the project directly follows his last studio album Bad Habits. He may have bad habits but, at the end of the day, NAV claims to have good intentions.
This time around, he’s collaborating with some of the biggest stars in the music business, including Travis Scott, Future, Lil Uzi Vert, Gunna, Young Thug, and more. He’s even got his second collaboration with the late Pop Smoke included. Elsewhere on the tracklist, Lil Durk and Don Toliver make appearances.
This is the third studio album from Toronto rapper NAV. He has released a new album in each of the last three years, beginning with Reckless before moving onto the next two.
Check it out below and let us know what you think! What’s the standout in your opinion?
Nav Drops Trailer For "Good Intentions"
Nav channels a nocturnal philosopher in a promising new trailer for his upcoming album “Good Intentions.”
With every album he drops, Nav further establishes himself as an artist to watch — that’s not to say he wasn’t always worthy of attention, but it seems as if he’s growing increasingly confident. Especially if his upcoming single “Saint Laurenttt” is any indication, it would appear that the trend is likely to continue across Good Intentions.

Hours after unveiling the complete tracklist to his upcoming album, which arrives this Friday, Nav has come through with a new trailer for one of the album’s singles. In the clip, Nav sits behind the wheel in a contemplative state, no doubt ruminating on the lack of new Vee-Vees, or perhaps the devastating loss of Toronto Raptors basketball.
From the sound of it, his production skills are being given ample spotlight; vocally, Nav’s melodic cadence transforms into a smoldering and pitched-down variant, giving off a monstrous effect befitting of his nocturnal tendencies. Lest we forget, Nav is no stranger to dark rituals, with some even speculating that the affable Canuck has taken on the mantle of Dark Lord himself. Yet behind all the hedonism, materialism, and lust, stands a man whose intentions are GOOD — or at the very least, so he says. Look for the album to explore things further when it hits this Friday. Are you excited for that new Nav?
