Charles Barkley is one of the most beloved men in sports talk television right now. As a member of Inside the NBA, Barkley consistently gets in beef with the likes of Shaq and Draymond Green. His antics always get social media excited and over the years, he has become a true spokesperson for the league. Last night, Inside the NBA aired despite there being no games to report on. Unfortunately, Barkley wasn't in the studio because he was self-quarantining for 48 hours.
As he explains in the clip below, he was feeling ill after a recent trip to New York City. In light of this, he decided to get tested for the Coronavirus since he was feeling under the weather. He has yet to get the results of his test although for now, fans and colleagues seem to be worried about Chuck's health.
Barkley's admission comes in light of a recent NBA shutdown. Players like Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell have tested positive for the bug which just goes to show how anybody can get it. There is a heightened sense of hysteria right now and Barkley did well by being proactive and getting himself tested. It would be a shame if he had it and gave anyone else the bug.

Draymond Green Reacts With Concern To NBA Coronavirus Scare
NBA players around the league are concerned about the events of the last couple of days.
It’s safe to say the NBA has been through hell and back the last couple of days in light of the fact that two of its players have been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. Those players are Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell of the Utah Jazz. After the news of Gobert’s diagnosis, the league shut down all operations and now, the league is on a temporary hiatus.
Players around the NBA are reacting to the news and as you can imagine, they are scared about the consequences. Not to mention, they are also fairly shocked that this happened to one of their peers. Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors was particularly taken aback by the events of the last few days.

“It is insane,” Green said according to Marcus Thompson III of the Athletic. “It’s one of those things where it doesn’t hit home until it hits home. The stuff that happened with the Jazz, honestly, just put everybody on alert. You’re thinking, ‘It won’t happen to me. It won’t happen to me. It can’t happen to me.’ Then it happens to someone in your same field. Someone you’re on the court with four times a year — and you’re playing against players he played against. To be honest, it makes me think about everybody who possibly could be affected that don’t necessarily have health care or enough resources to get through this.”
For the next 30 days, the NBA will be shut down and the hiatus could last a lot longer depending on how the virus continues to spread. With this in mind, stay tuned for updates as we will be sure to bring them to you.
NBA Reveals If Rudy Gobert Will Be Punished For Recklessness
Rudy Gobert was the first NBA player diagnosed with the Coronavirus.
Rudy Gobert was the talk of the NBA yesterday as it was revealed that he was diagnosed with the Coronavirus. To add insult to injury, he ended up getting his teammate, Donovan Mitchell, infected. As a result, the NBA decided to shut the league down for an indefinite period of time. Sports leagues across North America have completely shut down and now, sports all across Europe have also been halted. It's a dire situation and people are scared.
As it pertains to Gobert, many are upset as he exhibited recklessness. He didn't think the virus was serious and acted in a disrespectful manner at various points. Because of this, many have called for the player to be punished. According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports, Gobert will not be facing any punishments.
Some fans are confused by the decision but at the end of the day, it makes a lot of sense. Punishing Gobert would just make things worse for a player who already feels horrible about what's gone down. Yesterday, Gobert issued an apology on Instagram that was directed at the reporters and his teammate, Mitchell.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has some solid advice for his fans out there.
Players around the NBA are in a state of shock and dismay over the fact the league has suspended all operations due to the Coronavirus. Regardless, the situation is pretty dire at the moment and the players understand that they will need to sacrifice the next one to two months for the greater good of the population.

NBA Divulges On Minimum Length Of Coronavirus Shutdown
The NBA season could be gone for a significant amount of time.
Today has been a weird yet somber day for sports fans. The feelings all began last night as it was revealed that Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz had been diagnosed with the Coronavirus. From there, Gobert's teammate Donovan Mitchell also tested positive for COVID-19. All of this led to the suspension of the NBA season, until further notice. News of this suspension led to a firestorm on social media as fans and players were in absolute shock over all of it.
Now, there is speculation as to when the league will return. Players have been placed within a two-week quarantine period which many felt would be the minimum amount of time before coming back. Well, according to reporter Bruce Arthur, the minimum period of the suspension could last up to 30 days. This means a full month without basketball and it could end up being even longer than that.
As of right now, the NBA is at the mercy of the CDC and WHO. These organizations are experts in disease control and are trying everything they can to slow down the spread of the disease. Social distancing is the best way to limit the spread of the virus and by stopping large social gatherings, we will be that much closer to calm.

NBA Coronavirus Shutdown: What Should The League Do Next?
After Rudy Gobert was diagnosed with the Coronavirus, the NBA was forced to take drastic measures. But what now?
NBA fans around the world were in a complete state of shock last night as it was revealed that the league would be suspending the season until further notice. Earlier in the day, the NBA had a meeting to discuss preventative measures that could ultimately help stop the spread of Coronavirus. At first, it looked like they would continue the season as planned but without fans in the stands. This all changed when Rudy Gobert of the Utah Jazz was diagnosed with COVID-19, days after purposely touching a bunch of microphones as a way to demonstrate his dismissal of the severity of the virus. What made matters worse is that today, Gobert’s teammate Donovan Mitchell also tested positive for the Coronavirus.
As a result of last night’s events, numerous teams throughout the league have begun to self-quarantine. This process will last 14 days, which is significant as the league plans on suspending the season for at least 30 days. However, beyond the next month, the NBA doesn’t have much of a plan and they will have some massive decisions to make. This ultimately raises the question: What should the NBA do?
Well, it’s a complicated question to answer because lives are stake. This is truly a matter of life and death, even if you think the virus isn’t that big of a deal. While young people are at less risk of dying from the virus, older people and those with weakened immune systems can suffer the worst consequences. As of right now, there are over 133,000 Coronavirus cases and 4,947 people have died. These numbers demonstrate how the NBA did the right thing by suspending the season. While this may be true, the numbers also show that the NBA needs to exercise caution before moving forward. Simply put, they can’t be reckless.

History dictates that the NBA will make the right decision but they’ve never had to endure something so dire. A decision shouldn’t be made today and it certainly shouldn’t be made tomorrow. If the NBA wants to ensure the health and safety of both players and fans, they will need to wait on the Center for Disease Control and World Health Organization to make official recommendations. This process could very well take weeks or months but at the end of the day, the NBA and other leagues need to do what is best for everyone’s safety. Having said all of that, it doesn’t hurt to anticipate what could become of the season when things do go back to normal.
For instance, let’s look at the Chinese Basketball Association. When the outbreak first started back in January, the league suspended play and it has yet to resume. The CBA plans to have all teams back on the court in April which means their shutdown will have lasted 10 weeks. If the NBA were to take the same approach, they would be out of commission until May. This means the playoffs would run all the way until August. While the idea of basketball in August seems nice on the surface, it would push the start of the following season back, significantly. This could create a logistical nightmare for the league and its players, who deserve a nice little break after the postseason. Not to mention, many of the league’s talented stars plan on playing in the Summer Olympics, which would ideally take place in August.

These factors create a difficult scenario for the league. If the NBA were to realistically continue on with the season without any scheduling disasters in the late summer, they should consider ending the regular season today and making it so the playoffs begin as soon as the league starts back up. Fans of bubble playoff teams like the Portland Trail Blazers probably hate me right now and listen, I definitely feel your pain. However, every team has played over 60 games which means more than 75% of the season has been completed. There have been lockout years with fewer games. This just goes to show that the teams that deserve playoff spots are already there. Starting the postseason immediately after the hiatus ultimately poses some financial problems as it means fewer games, fewer TV placements, and fewer profits. Considering the nature of the nature of the situation, it’s safe to say profits should be the last thing on the league’s mind.
The league also has to decide whether or not they will play with fans when the league returns. This was the plan from the beginning and if this public health crisis continues, then empty stadiums will have to be the norm. The playoffs would be especially rough in this scenario and it’s something all parties may have to get used. Regardless, this is all speculative but it’s important to think about. The NBA is an institution and when they’re not operating, people feel it. If the league wants to make its players feel good about returning to action, they’ll need to take the proper steps to ensure everyone is going to be okay, moving forward. As for the fans, we’re going to have to hang tight and trust the NBA will make the right choice.
Stephen A. Smith Breaks His Silence On NBA Shutdown
The Coronavirus has caused the NBA to completely suspend operations until further notice.
Last night featured a landmark decision from the NBA as they ultimately chose to end the season until further notice due to the Coronavirus. This decision was made due to the fact that Rudy Gobert was diagnosed with the virus. In fact, his teammate Donovan Mitchell ended up getting the bug, as well. It’s a scary situation that absolutely no one saw coming, even with reports of the virus ramping up. Now that the disease has reached pandemic levels, the hysteria surrounding it all has increased significantly.
Today on ESPN’s First Take, Stephen A. Smith and Max Kellerman spoke about the virus and the NBA’s recent decision. As you can imagine, both men were pretty scared about it all but they were ultimately happy with the way the NBA chose to handle it. Stephen A. Smith was particularly complimentary of Adam Silver who took the swift action necessary.
Kellerman echoed those sentiments and noted that Silver’s leadership has always been top tier. Smith went on to say that the fact the NBA is suspending the season is encouraging because it leaves open the possibility of a return to form, later this year. Regardless, it’s a situation nobody was hoping for and as of right now, all we can do is wait.

2 Chainz Reacts To NBA Suspending Season Over Coronavirus
After Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19 and the NBA subsequently suspending the remainder of the season, 2 Chainz is staying in tune with the current Coronavirus pandemic.
The NBA made some unfortunate news last night when they announced the season is suspended. Though the chatter surrounding banning spectators was running rampant, the league decided to cancel the rest of the season altogether after Rudy Gobert tested positive for Coronavirus. That being said, 2 Chainz, a man who could’ve played in the league if he had not picked up a microphone, is staying on full alert about the pandemic.

Taking to Instagram, 2 Chainz reacted to both the news of the NBA being canceled and Rudy Robert’s Coronavirus test results. The rapper was clearly alert to the matter but he’s taking seriously now; announcing that he’ll be canceling shopping sprees anytime soon. “This is really happening !! I think after I leave this chrome hearts store and spend this 20 ! It will be the last thing I buy until further notice,” he said.
But what made 2 Chainz really take this matter seriously is the announcement that even the G-League would be canceled. “This virus Definitely has my attention and is also affecting so many people in so many different ways,” he added along with a screenshot of the G-League’s official announcement.
The Coronavirus pandemic is expected to impact roughly one-third of the American population. During a private meeting with staffers, a Congressional doctor reportedly said that 70M to 150M Americans will contract COVID-19. However, there is a high recovery rate of 80%.
Skip Bayless & Shannon Sharpe Offer Somber Reaction To NBA Hiatus
The NBA's decision to suspend the season has sent shockwaves throughout the sports world.
Late last night, the NBA decided that all operations would be suspended due to one of its players contracting the Coronavirus. Of course, that player was Rudy Gobert who then went on to transmit the virus to Donovan Mitchell. These developments are quite shocking and have sent the sports world into a complete state of panic. Now, the NBA will wait and see what to do next as many of its players and teams enter a quarantine protocol.
This morning, numerous sports talk shoes are reacting to the news, including FS1's Undisputed which is hosted by Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe. Bayless and Sharpe are known for their arguments but on today's show, they were in agreement on pretty well every single subject. The two had a somber tone as they discussed last night's events and it was apparent that they were shaken up by it all.
Bayless noted that this was one of the most shocking sporting events in recent memory and that he was quite shocked by it all. He even admitted that he never really thought the virus was a problem until Gobert was diagnosed with it. Sharpe on the other hand, agreed with the NBA's decision as it was conducive to public health.
