It's no secret that Tory Lanez is eager to get the ball rolling on his newfound artistic independence. Around the same time he was gearing up to drop off The New Toronto 3, Tory made the revelation that the album would be his final on Interscope Records. Seeing greener pastures on the horizon, Lanez began teasing that the best was yet to come, as he had been saving his greatest, most polished music for his independent hustle.

Of course, it's entirely possible that Lanez is simply building further hype for his eventual releases, which are said to include an acoustic album, an 80s-inspired album, and a Spanish album. As he tells it, those are the ones worth checking for -- in fact, he actually doubled down on that particular line of thought on Twitter this afternoon. "I really dropped that last project to get out my deal," writes Tory, essentially downplaying The New Toronto 3 as a means to an end. "I wanna drop more music now! REAL MUSIC."
While it's exciting to see Lanez excited about his future plans, he shouldn't be so quick to wash his hands of the studio discography he's since built up. Some of his best songs, from "Pieces" to "Miami," came from his Interscope albums. We can only hope that his next batch of three continues to build upon his artistry, and from the ambitious sounds of his recently-teased descriptions, the end results will truly be a spectacle to behold.
Pusha T Teases "Filthy" Tyler, The Creator Collaborations
Pusha T is gearing up to unleash some “ignorant” and “filthy” hip-hop with Tyler, The Creator.
Pusha T isn’t about to let an ongoing coronavirus pandemic stymie his creativity. Instead, the Clipse legend has decided to use the self-imposed downtime to ramp up the productivity, to the point where we may very well be looking at three new albums when all this dust finally settles. At least, that seems to be where Pusha is heading, as evidenced by a recent Ask Me Anything he staged on Discord last night.
“I’m actually working on three projects right now,” he explains, upon being asked about his current game plan. “So, you know, with everything that’s going on in the world right now, of course we’re not all together. But I’m well in on my next project. It’s looking kind of selfish right now, to be honest. I got a lot to say, man. A lot’s went on. A lot to address.”

Despite the allusion to a lack of features, Pusha hasn’t been flying entirely solo. As he tells it, he’s been obliterating a beat tape sent by none other than his old “Trouble On My Mind” collaborator Tyler, The Creator. And not Igor Tyler, either. “Tyler gave me a pack of like nine [instrumentals]. I think I did like four of em. And I don’t know where they’re gonna end up at, but I got em,” he teases. “I make him go straight hip-hop, like, full-fledged. It’s full ignorance with me. I don’t want to experiment. I want to do only the filthiest of hip-hop these days.”
While many have come to appreciate Tyler’s creative growth, there remain a core group that desires to see him go back to his BS — the fuckin’ walking paradox days. From the sound of it, Pusha has Tyler coming through with some grimy beats; no doubt his rhymes will be matching the tone in kind. Trippie Redd Confirms New 1400/800 Album Produced By Pi’erre Bourne
While sitting down for an interview with MONTREALITY, Trippie Redd and his 1400/800 crew confirmed that a new group album entirely produced by Pi’erre Bourne is on the way.
Even though he’s still trailing off the success of dropping A Love Letter To You 4 (Deluxe) last month, Trippie Redd is already gearing up to hit us with some new music in collaboration with the 1400/800 homies. Oh, and they’ve got Pi’erre Bourne producing the entire project.

The crew sat down for a group-style interview with MONTREALITY, with Trippie joined by members Chris King, Sunny2Point0, Shootem Up, K Suave and the hilariously-stoic Teezo Touchdown. Among the topics discussed, including Valentine’s Day, their crazy definition of friendship amongst the crew and even a positive message to the youth, the real standout was the album details. “It’s just basically versatility throughout all of us,” Trippie said of the upcoming project, also adding, “it’s really just hitting every ground on different sounds…around the sounds” before bursting out in smoke-filled laughter with his labelmates. Based off the quick freestyle dropped soon after that was said, we definitely can’t wait to see this project eventually come to fruition. Even if you don’t always understand the group’s creative direction, there’s no denying talent is something that’s not lacking in the least bit within their circle.

Tory Lanez Shows Love To NBA YoungBoy & Other Recent Rap Releases
After a whirlwind of rap releases last week, Tory Lanez showed love to all the artists that dropped fire on us with an emphasis on NBA YoungBoy’s new mixtape “Still Flexin, Still Steppin.”
It goes without saying but there was a lot of musical heat released upon us on March 6, ranging from the smooth serenading of Jhené Aiko on her third studio album CHILOMBO to the short-but-sweet rap stylings from Meg Thee Stallion on her debut LP SUGA. Although he didn’t release anything new last week, Tory Lanez decided to show love to all the homies that dropped bangers with an emphasis on one emcee in particular.
