Several years have passed since the last studio album release from Joey Bada$$ but, thankfully, we may not need to wait much longer to receive the next.
Fans of the Brooklyn rapper have been begging him to drop for the last couple of years, replaying All-Amerikkkan Badass as they wait. The 25-year-old has been working in the studio, but he has failed to offer a timetable as to when his next full-length release will come. As the month of April soon comes to a close, Badmon revealed the possibility of new music on the horizon, telling fans that he would soon reward them for their patience.
"Life sucks rn, yes!?," wrote the multi-faceted artist on Twitter. ".....But on the bright side, we get closer to new Joey Bada$$ music everyday :) you will be rewarded for your patience I promise."
In such uncertain times, it has been difficult to imagine what life will be like post-COVID19. Thankfully, it would appear as though that world includes some artistic genius from the man himself, Joey Bada$$.
Outside of music, the Pro Era rapper has reportedly signed on for an acting role in the Power spin-off series Raising Kanan. He is set to play a drug kingpin in the prequel.

Royce Da 5’9" Is Sending Eminem "Bad Meets Evil" Beats
Royce Da 5’9″ is officially cooking up some new music for Eminem, fueling heavy Bad Meets Evil speculation.
Ever since Royce Da 5’9″ and Eminem renewed their creative partnership on 2011’s Bad Meets Evil album, fans have been excited to witness the follow-up — especially in a current climate, where both parties are firing on all artistic cylinders. It’s fair to say that both Music To Be Murdered By and The Allegory found both emcees in a heightened state, with Royce bringing a new weapon to the battle — his production.

On that note, Nickle has been spending his quarantine hunkered down behind the boards, laying down a few beats as he plots his next move. For months now, the masses have been salivating at the thought of some new Bad Meets Evil, especially given that the past few years have seen them increasingly active. With both having recently dropped off solo albums, it seems as if a sequel to Hell: The Sequel is a logical step — especially if Royce decides to produce the bulk of the project, thus facilitating any back-and-forth that might otherwise stymie the workflow.
Today, Royce took to Instagram to preview a few of his latest instrumentals, coyly pondering which one to send to his “caucasian counterpart.” Naturally, both selections sit comfortably in Em’s stylistic wheelhouse — which is to say, uptempo dark bangers. While Royce did seem to outline a pick-one-or-the-other scenario, many were quick to counter with a well-meaning “can’t it be both?” Suffice it to say, the people are fiending for some new Bad Meets Evil. And let’s be honest, both beats would be swiftly decimated by the Detroit emcees.
Conway Continues Onslaught With New Album Tease
Conway The Machine’s work ethic proves astounding as the rapper teases yet another new project.
In a recent interview, Conway The Machine professed a desire to be revered as one of the greatest of all time. As such, he’s been steadily honing his craft and working on new music, promising a slew of projects to come in 2020 — including his long-awaited Shady Records debut God Don’t Make Mistakes, an album said to encapsulate the pinnacle of modern hip-hop. In the meantime, however, The Machine has been steadily building his resume, taking to Instagram to raise the curtain on yet another body of work.

This one is tentatively titled the Big Ghost Tape, currently made up of nine tracks produced entirely by Big Ghost LTD. For those who have been following the Griselda movement for a minute now, you might recognize Big Ghost LTD from his work on Conway and Westside Gunn’s Griselda Ghost project in 2015. This time around, it seems that Conway is flying solo, continuing his 2020 tradition of rocking with a singular producer for the duration of an album.
Though we have yet to land a release date for this one, look for the Big Ghost Tape to arrive at some point in the imminent future. Machine has never been one to sit on music for long, a fact that benefits us all. Check out the full tracklist below, Conway’s latest Instagram post.
Young Dolph Announces New Music But Fans Think It’s Cap
Young Dolph announced new music by sharing some cover artwork but his fans don’t believe he’ll actually deliver.
The last time Young Dolph announced that he would be releasing new music, he never came through. In March, the Memphis rapper told the world that he would be dropping a brand new album to keep fans entertained during the quarantine but that never happened. So, now that he’s effectively doing the same thing again, people aren’t exactly buying the fact that he will actually stick to his word.
Announcing a new single dropping this week, Young Dolph teased some music that will directly relate to Donald Trump and the coronavirus. At least, that’s what he’s suggesting with the topical cover artwork, which shows the President on the side and somebody being treated for COVID-19.

While the prospect of new music from the rapper is certainly exciting, his fans won’t allow themselves to get their hopes up. In the comments of the post, the majority of his fans are calling “cap” on the announcement, telling Dolph that they’ll be keeping a close eye on their streaming service of choice before actually believing that he will drop.
“We will see. Don’t cap,” said one fan. “Stop playing with us dolph,” begged another.
Hopefully, Young Dolph keeps to his word and delivers some new music this week. If not, you can’t pretend to be surprised.
T-Pain & Chris Brown Tease New Banger "Wake Up Dead"
This Friday, T-Pain and Chris Brown are bringing some crazy harmonies to the masses with “Wake Up Dead.”
Chris Brown has quietly remained one of the game’s most prolific artists, continuously padding his studio albums with enough songs to tide fans over for years. Yet even after gargantuan releases like Heartbreak On A Full Moon and Indigo, Breezy still has heat left over. Case in point, the upcoming collaboration with T-Pain “Wake Up Dead,” set to arrive in full this Friday, April 24th. Given that Brown is the official featured artist, it stands to reason that T-Pain is gearing up to drop off a new project, with this being the start of a new rollout.
Taking to Instagram, T-Pain made his excitement for the upcoming drop well known, sharing both the official single artwork and a lengthy snippet of the new track. From the sound of it, “Wake Up Dead” will come heavy on the harmony, with Breezy and T-Pain pairing their voices in what promises to be an epic display of skill and showmanship. “I don’t want to wake up dead,” they sing, simultaneously. “I don’t want to turn up missing.”
T-Pain shared another snippet of Breezy’s verse, which seems to be building into a crescendo. From the sound of it, the instrumental will center around muted, reverb-soaked guitar chords, though it’s as of yet unclear as to how the drums will be arranged. At the very least, we won’t have to wait much longer to find out. Check back this Friday for “Wake Up Dead,” the brand new single from T-Pain and Chris Brown. Do you have high hopes for this one?
DaBaby Addresses Critics Of His New Album & His Flow
DaBaby speaks about expectations and how he deals with all the criticism regarding his flow and his new album "Blame It On Baby" on The Breakfast Club.
DaBaby absolutely blew up last year. With "Suge" and his highly-successful albums Baby On Baby and KIRK, the Charlotte rapper managed to turn himself into a superstar. The 28-year-old attempted to follow up on his success last week, releasing another full-length project titled Blame It On Baby. However, fan reception of the album was less than ideal. Despite all the hate he's been receiving online, Baby is unfazed. After all, he's still set to debut at the top position on the Billboard 200.
This morning, he called into The Breakfast Club with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, and Angela Yee to address the constant critics of his flow, arguing that he is fully aware of what he's doing.
Speaking about how quickly his rise occurred, DaBaby explained that he released his three albums back-to-back so that people would realize that he's not just a one-hit-wonder. He has heard the comments about his flow always sounding the same though and he addressed it all.

"As far as switching the flow, I have no problem running circles around any one of these n***as," he says. "I couldn't find myself entertaining that. I could joke about it just like I joke about everything else. [...] I'll make a conscious album right now, I'll record the whole shit today. On some J. Cole vibes. Joyner Lucas. I can get in there too. At the end of the day, I understand what's going on. You gotta milk the game. You gotta take advantage of it. If I switch it too quick, you ain't gon' like it. You gon' be like 'Damn Baby, I wanted you to turn me up.' When you got something going, you would be a fool to step on your own toes and go left with it."
As much as you all want DaBaby to switch up his flow, he's got a good point.
Listen to his argument below.
View this post on InstagramNBA Youngboy Will Stop Releasing Music After "38 Baby 2"
Youngboy Never Broke Again says that after Friday, he will stop releasing new music to focus on himself.
It's clear that Youngboy Never Broke Again is going through something and, thankfully, he's taking the time to heal his wounds.
The rapper tweeted out a concerning message this weekend, suggesting that he was having suicidal thoughts. The message was unclear but he seemingly asked fans if they believed it was a good idea for him to end it all. A resounding "NO" was cried out by his loyal supporters and, instead of taking drastic measures, the 20-year-old appears to be taking some much-needed time to heal from all the past trauma in his life.
After announcing that he will be dropping his new project 38 Baby 2 this week, NBA Youngboy took to Twitter to announce that it will be his last piece of new music in a while.
"After Friday I’ll never release a song/album again until I’m in a better situation #PROMISE," wrote the rapper on social media.
It's worth noting that the star has been in negative headlines for the last month and a bit after his girlfriend, Yaya Mayweather, was arrested for stabbing his baby mama Lapattra Jacobs. It appears as though everything has finally caught up to him and he's doing the right thing, taking time to himself to figure out this crazy thing called life.
Hopefully, he's back sooner rather than later. However, he's left us with enough good music throughout the last couple of years.
Take your time, YB.
Erika Goldring/Getty ImagesDoes This Mean Playboi Carti Is Actually Dropping "Whole Lotta Red" Today?
Playboi Carti tweets, fans go crazy.
Playboi Carti sure knows how to tease us. The rapper who's developed a rabid, cult-like following recently returned to the fray when he released a visual and new single for the pitched-up lullaby-esque masterpiece "@ MEH," re-igniting excitement for his impending album, Whole Lotta Red.
Fans, and hip-hop artists alike reacted to the single drop, with Uzi joining on the commentary. Uzi, who seems to be playing the role of Carti mascot these days, followed up his response to "@ MEH" with a possible date for more music when he tweeted out the word "Monday." Actually, it was more like: ". MoNDaY," to be precise. Carti followed similarly, leaving us to wonder what would happen on MoNDaY? Well, Monday is now here. So far, nothing out of the ordinary has happened. It is 4/20, which means we've all been smoking, but that's about it.
Still, Monday isn't over yet! Could Whole Lotta Red still drop today? Carti continues to pump his fans up about it, tweeting this afternoon "rEd," which has clearly got fans intrigued. Uzi tweeted similarly, right before Uzi, in Carti's preferred upper-case-lower-case format: "HEy."
What do you think, will today finally be the day that Carti fans receive their magnum opus? Sound off in the comments and stay tuned.
Top Dawg Entertainment Is Dropping New Music All Week
Does this mean we could very well be getting new music from Kendrick Lamar this week?
It looks like the TDE camp is finally blessing us with some new music during this period of self-isolation and quarantine. Earlier today, the ever-elusive Ab-Soul popped in with the release of “Dangerookipawa Freestyle” in honor of Top Dawg’s birthday. Now, it’s not only rare to hear from Soulo but pretty much every other artist on the roster. We can’t blame them, either, knowing how hard at work they are.
Thankfully, Soulo isn’t the only one dropping this week. Top Dawg hit the ‘Gram to announce that they’ll be releasing a new song every day for the rest of the work in honor of #TDEFANAPPRECIATIONWEEK. “Celebratin my BDAY 2day, releasin New Music ALL WEEK,” Top Dawg wrote. “Startin wit @souloho3 “Dangerookipawaa Freestyle” Available on ALL PLATFORMS #TDEFANAPPRECIATIONWEEK”
No mention was made of who we’ll end up hearing from this week but it could very well be the beginning of a new album campaign for someone. Currently, artists like Isaiah Rashad and SZA have fans eager for new albums while Kendrick Lamar, of course, has been said to be preparing the release to his follow-up to 2017’s DAMN. Ab-Soul is also said to have an album that he’s conjuring up. Though “Dangerookipawa Freestyle” is only a loosie, it could also be a signal that Soulo has a new album roll out on the way.
Who do you want to hear new music from off of the TDE roster this week? Sound off in the comments. g
Drake Promises Tom Brady New Music
Drake is about to bless us with even more new music, promising Tom Brady that "Toosie Slide" isn't his only banger on the way.
We're ready when you are, Drake.
Fresh off the release of his new single "Toosie Slide," which debuted at the top of the Billboard Hot 100, Drake is already thinking about his next big move. He's got us all dancing but, with his next single, who knows what kind of emotions we'll be feeling?
As we all patiently wait for any sort of announcement from the Toronto native, Drake just promised his friend Tom Brady, quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, that new music is on the way.
Kevin Winter/Getty ImagesUpdating his Instagram story this weekend, Tom Brady formally requested new music from the global superstar, suggesting that the "Toosie Slide" isn't enough. Drizzy didn't need to reply but he was generous with his time, realizing that he might need to heal the world with another bop soon.
"More on the way TB that's a fact," wrote Drake on Instagram Stories. Of course, the post was noticed by thousands of fans who took to social media to express their own excitement for the quasi announcement.
While we do not know when Drake will decide to bless us with more new music, we're hoping it's soon. We could all use some good vibes in our lives right now.
Who's excited?
