While most people manage to go the gym frequently in January and then abandon the healthy lifestyle for the rest of the year, Jordyn Woods appears to do the opposite. On Monday (Feb. 10), she took to Instagram to inform her 11 million followers that she’s back on her workout grind and she’s reviving the new year’s resolution spirit.

The influencer captioned two videos of her doing exercises: “getting back to it????who’s with me!? what are your 2020 fitness goals? (That was my first time doing the second machine but after the 5th set I was a lot more graceful ?) for those of you asking the first workout is all for core strength.” A follower expressed appreciation in the comments for Woods sharing the not-so-graceful set, to which she replied that she has “to keep it real.” 

In contrast, another follower criticized Woods for suddenly deciding to work out at the fitness facility that Kobe Bryant founded after his passing. “This seems very clout-ish. Mamba Sports Academy? Since when…? ?” Woods’ friend came to her defense in the replies, explaining that she was the one who had invited Woods to come workout with her there. “People just have anything to say,” Woods commented, brushing off the hater.

In the caption for this post, Woods also plugged her company, FRSTPLACE, which supplies fitness guides.  

The first few weeks of the new year can often be dry in terms of music releases. People are laying low after the holidays and artists allow things to simmer down before they started flooding their fans with new material. Everyone wants a fresh restart and when you drop right at the top of the new year, it can become entangled with the prior year’s timeline. That’s why a gap in music releases could be beneficial for both the artist and consumer. That being said, there weren’t that many new songs for us to add to our “FIRE EMOJI” playlist this week. However, we certainly appreciate all the artists that came out the gates swinging and ready to conquer this decade. 

It comes as no surprise that Mick Jenkins is among this faction, as he has quietly been one of the hardest working rappers since he stepped on the scene. The Chicago native has been acclaimed for his lyrical prowess and has established a loyal fanbase on the fringes. He keeps these fans steadily fed with loosies, mixtapes and albums. He continues this habit this week by dropping “Carefree”, the first single off his album Circus, which arrives next week. Mick spits over a dreamy, sputtering beat from Detroit producer, Black Milk. 

Some more characters that will remain prominent in 2020 are Moneybagg Yo, Lil Baby and Tay Keith. These three joined forces to gift us with “U Played”, which is easily the hardest hitting track among this week’s “FIRE EMOJI” additions. To quote Drake, Tay Keith’s beat was definitely too hard. 

Last, but not least, we have a new song from Quando Rondo, featuring A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and 2 Chainz. In case you weren’t sold that he’s going to be a force in 2020, he came through to prove it. He impressed many with From The Neighborhood To The Stage and he’s been keeping that momentum going with a string of singles. 

These new tracks have us optimistic about the state of hip hop in 2020. You expecting good things?

Lizzo’s life changed immensely in the last decade. The “Truth Hurts” singer went from living in her car and crying herself to sleep to buying her mother a house and having most of her songs hit #1 in 2019. “Anything can happen in a decade. Tomorrow is the beginning of ur Anything,” she said when reflecting on her past.

Ahead of new years, Lizzo hit up the Marquee nightclub in Las Vegas to perform a little set with guests such as Nas, NFL player Craig Robertson and RuPaul’s Drag Race Aquaria and more, Page Six reports. The publication details how Lizzo shared her resolutions for 2020 and they included: “No basic bitches in this new decade,” “succeed in all our businesses,” and to “not let the bullshit get to you.”

Just a few weeks back, Lizzo was criticized for her outfit of choice to a basketball game since her bare cheeks were showing. The ordeal brought forward a double standard question and the singer responded accordingly: 

“Who I am and the essence of me and the things I chose to do as a grown-ass woman can inspire you to do the same,” she said. “You don’t have to be like me. You need to be like you. And never ever let somebody stop you or shame you from being yourself like, this is who I’ve always been. Now everyone’s looking at it, and your criticism can just remain your criticism. Your criticism has no effect on me.

As celebrities were drawing in the new year at lavish parties or nightclubs with entourages in tow as they ordered expensive bottles of premium champagne for the midnight toast, The Game decided to go a different route. The Born To Rap artist opted for a more snowy, wintery aesthetic for the new year as he and his loved ones enjoyed the Colorado scenery from a luxury cabin in Aspen.

The elite city is a favorite for the rich and famous who delight in the finer things in life. Game shared photos of himself enjoying little Mary Jane on the deck of the cabin while tequila-laced gumbo was brewing in the kitchen. The rapper shared a few photos and video clips on his Instagram and Instagram Story along with a few thoughtful captions.

“Reflection. So many beautiful people lost in 2019…… so many lessons learned…. so much to still accomplish,” Game penned. “One is forced to keep moving in a direction of self elevation. The inevitable is what it is, now let’s push #2020vision.” In another post, he added, “Live. Laugh. Love. Drake finished the decade off as one of its biggest artists. He came through with numerous chart-topping songs and projects that left us clamoring for more. The Canadian artist decided not to come through with a project in 2019 although 2020 is already shaping up to be a huge year for him. Fans are already anticipating a new album which will surely be well-received by everyone who has been sitting patiently for new songs. Drake is well-aware of the demand for new music and is already teasing fans by lamenting about his work ethic.

In his latest Instagram post, Drake claims that he is coming into 2020 swinging. “To another year of taking my work home with me,” he wrote. While this simple message isn’t much, it certainly tells us that he’ll be working tirelessly to provide fans with what they’ve been begging for.

Drake’s evolution as an artist has been quite interesting over the years. Whether you like him or not, there is no denying that he is one of the biggest artists out there. His next album will surely give fans a deeper look inside how he has not only progressed as an artist but as a person as well.

A power squad of hip hop’s finest took to the deep blue sea today to start off the new year on a dope note. We already knew that DJ Khaled and Future were spending the day together today, cruising around on a pair of jet skis, but another participant in their day of fun was revealed when Khaled posted a video of he and Diddy reflecting on New Years past.

In the video captioned, “Life is good HAPPY NEW YEAR Bless up,” Khaled and Diddy wish each other a happy new year, followed by Diddy clapping and insisting that “It’s gonna be a great one, ladies and gentlemen. It’s gonna be action-packed.” It’s definitely good to see Diddy so optimistic about 2020, considering how rough 2019 was for him. He even recently revealed the dark depression he went through this past year in an emotional confession. Khaled proceeds to point out to Diddy, “You know I bring in the new year with you every year,” which Diddy confirms, and notes that they’ve also gone jet skiing every year in the past as well. Khaled lets everyone watching know that “life is good,” and that they’re starting the decade off right.

Meek Mill was also part of the star-studded group of pals’ ocean adventure, as revealed in yet another video posted by Khaled, captioned, “HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020.” Notoriously repetitive, DJ Khaled utters the phrase “Take a look at 2020” multiple times, to which Meek responds, “2020 it’s real wavy on the way.” Not gonna lie, this activity looks fun as hell. Fingers crossed for an invitation next year.

Whenever DJ Khaled announces a new project, you can always expect a few familiar names to pop up on the tracklist. The mega-producer is very close to both Beyoncé and Jay-Z, having collaborated with them on a few bangers in the past. Another artist he loves working with is Future, who has managed to earn placement on the majority of Khaled’s recent albums. The two have a knack for creating hits so it isn’t a surprise to see them back together in the new year. Just two days into 2020, it looks like this duo is returning again, spending some moments outside of the studio and having some boy-time with an abundance of food and some jet skis. 

Recording a video for his social media fans, DJ Khaled revealed he was spending the afternoon with none other than Future Hendrix, wishing the rapper a happy new year. “2020 already secured,” teased Fewtch, hinting at another early-year takeover. At the beginning of last year, Future released a new album and a shorter project to follow. Perhaps he and Khaled already have things on lock for the upcoming months. “Just know we on Forbes already,” he added.

After chowing down on some turkey burgers and french fries, the two superstars took out the jet skis (even though Future admitted that he doesn’t usually ride like that). As we recover from our New Year’s Eve celebrations, we’re left reflecting on the things and people that made 2019 so special. In addition to the welcoming of a new year, we’re also ringing in a fresh decade, beginning the 2020s and ushering in tons of exciting opportunities and possibilities. Knowing the history that Big Sean and Jhené Aiko share, it’s pretty obvious that they’ve each had a tremendous impact on the other’s life in the last ten years. The on-again-off-again couple is officially back on, leaving fans guessing for a couple of months, heightening rumors with the release of their collaborative “None Of Your Concern.” After New Year’s Eve, it’s pretty clear that they’re back together with The Blast reporting that Sean and Jhené are renewing their relationship.

The latest photo of the two musicians together shows them during their NYE party, rocking silky get-ups and acting goofy for the camera. Aiko shifts her mouth in a comical fashion and Sean semi-sticks out his tongue, embracing each other and serving once again as “relationship goals.” 

Neither Sean nor Jhene have confirmed that they’re officially back on. However, the couple has been notoriously secretive and unbothered throughout the year, choosing to let the gossipers do their jobs as they simply get on with their lives. Regardless of the nature of their bond, it’s just nice to see them on good terms.

Jordyn Woods rang in the new year the best way she knows how, and looked like she had a blast. Jordyn appears to have celebrated 2020 middle school style by throwing a full-on pajama party. But this was not your average pajama party, oh no. Jordyn’s cozy soiree was still as lit as is required when welcoming the arrival of a new decade, and she did not shy away from bussing it down.

In a video posted by The Shade Room taken from one of Jordyn’s friends Instagram stories with the caption, “The hostess with the mostest ?,” Jordyn can be seen showing off her twerk skills at the gathering, sporting some plaid, flannel PJ pants paired with a tight, backless corset. The outfit is peculiar choice as the purposes of the pieces seem to contradict each another, but who’s complaining. Jordyn’s friends cheer her on in the background while she shakes her ass, keeping a tight grasp on a bottle of liquor. Many joined in on gassing Jordyn up by commenting on the post. One user even wrote, “Yep Meg the stallion rubbing off which is good!!” referring to Jordyn’s budding friendship with the Houston Hottie and world famous twerk master. Another user got a little out of pocket, commenting, “That’s how she ended up on tristian lap the first time ??‍♀️.” This claim is of course in reference to the rumours that Jordyn hooked up with Tristan Thompson, the boyfriend of Jordyn’s ex-best-friend Kylie Jenner’s sister, Khloe Kardashian, at the time. Jordyn has vehemently denied the rumours that they slept together, but did admit that there was an intimate moment between them.
