Noname is putting the spotlight on all the "top selling rappers" who have yet to speak on the police killing of George Floyd. Ever since footage of George's death, which shows a police officer kneeling on the 46-year-old black man's neck until he stopped breathing, spread like wildfire this past week, many have been rightfully outraged. For the past several days, protests have been taking place both in Minneapolis where the murder occurred, and in other cities across the country in an effort to fight for justice against police brutality. Petitions and donation links have been circulating on social media, as well, allowing people who cannot protest to help the cause with their money and signatures.

While tons of important work is being done, rapper Noname, who had already called on her "celebrity" followers to match her $1,000 donation to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, couldn't help but notice the radio silence coming from some of the voices one might expect would speak up on these injustices. On Friday (May 29th), she tweeted about who she feels is really showing up for the black community, and who isn't.
"Poor black folks all over the country are putting their bodies on the line in protest for our collective safety and y’all favorite top selling rappers not even willing to put a tweet up," she wrote. "N*ggas whole discographies be about black plight and they no where to be found."
While there are certainly some artists who have yet to speak up (at least on social media), many rappers have been using their platforms to shed light on the matter, such as Snoop Dogg, T.I., and more.
Child Soldiers Caught On Camera Patrolling Atlanta Amid Protests
The protests around the country continue to get even more disturbing.
Following the murder of George Floyd, many throughout the country have taken to the streets to protest and exercise their first amendment rights. Many of the protests have turned into rioting although this is the product of anger that has been building up for centuries. The government has left some people behind and now, many are trying to reclaim their freedom in a way that the government will actually understand.
There have been some massive protests in Atlanta and the entire state of Georgia although there are some disturbing scenes coming from the area. Two separate tweets went viral that depict child soldiers with army fatigues, guns, and riot shields. These soldiers have been placed in front of stores and barricades and seem to be following orders to a tee.
Of all the scenes we have seen thus far, this has to be the most disturbing. Children are not meant to be soldiers and this is a development that you truly wouldn't expect from the United States. While some are questioning the validity of the videos, it seems as though there is reason to believe this is very much real, as much as we wish it wasn't.
Stay tuned for updates on this situation as we will be sure to bring them to you.
Donald Trump Reacts To Last Night’s Protests & White House Lockdown
Donald Trump was in lockdown at the White House yesterday amid protests.
Protests have been festering all across the country over the last couple of days and tensions are certainly high. Of course, these protests are a direct result of the killing of George Floyd who was essentially stranged by a police officer. Last night, protests got pretty interesting in Washington, D.C., so much so that the entire White House had to be put on lockdown.
President Donald Trump was being protected by an army of Secret Service agents and this morning, the President took to Twitter where he had quite a bit of praise for his Secret Service. Trump explained that his agents were ready for anything that came his way and even spoke about their weaponry.
Per President Trump:
"They were not only totally professional, but very cool. I was inside, watched every move, and couldn’t have felt more safe. They let the “protesters” scream & rant as much as they wanted, but whenever someone ot too frisky or out of line, they would quickly come down on them, hard - didn’t know what hit them. The front line was replaced with fresh agents, like magic. Big crowd, professionally organized, but nobody came close to breaching the fence."
Once again, Trump is threatening violence upon those who might step out of line and we can't help but be concerned for the protesters out there. It's a dangerous scene right now and we hope those standing up for themselves stay safe.

The footage showing George, a 46-year-old Black man, unable to breathe while Officer Derek Chauvin has his knee on George’s neck was a poignant reminder for some of how often Black Americans are the victims of police brutality, at times to the point in which they are killed by those who claim to “serve and protect.”

Handcuffed by the haters. Gagged by the greedy. And if i know any thing at all, it’s that a wall is just a wall and nothing more at all. It can be broken down.”

George Floyd Killer Derek Chauvin Receives Divorce Papers From Wife
George Floyd may no longer be with us, but people are calling for justice in his case. While his killed, Derek Chauvin faces charges, his wife has requested a divorce.
As riots pour over into the streets of multiple U.S. cities including the nation’s capital Washington, D.C., Derek Chauvin is finding that when it rains, it pours. The disgraced former Minneapolis police officer hasn’t rested since he kneeled on the neck of George Floyd for eight minutes as the 46-year-old begged for his life, repeating “I can’t breathe.” The criminal complaint against Chauvin states that Floyd’s autopsy revealed his cause of death wasn’t strangulation, but underlying health conditions, heart disease, potential intoxicants, the combined effort of being restrained. Therefore, Derek Chauvin was charged with third-degree murder and manslaughter.

Since the video of the fatal incident with George Floyd began to circulate, thousands of protesters have stood outside Chauvin’s home, protesting loudly. On Friday (May 29), Derek Chauvin was arrested and taken into custody, and it looks as if his wife, Kellie Chauvin, wasted no time distancing herself from her husband’s controversy.
“This evening, I spoke with Kellie Chauvin and her family. She is devastated by Mr. Floyd’s death and her utmost sympathy lies with his family, with his loved ones and with everyone who is grieving this tragedy. She has filed for dissolution of her marriage to Derek Chauvin,” Kellie Chauvin’s attorneys said. “While Ms. Chauvin has no children from her current marriage, she respectfully requests that her children, her elder parents, and her extended family be given safety and privacy during this difficult time.”
Rihanna Breaks Silence On George Floyd, Calls Derek Chauvin A "Thug, Pig, Bum"
Rihanna has a few choice words for Derek Chauvin, the police officer who knelt on the neck of George Floyd until the 46-year-old man’s death.
Many celebrity figures have chosen to remain silent about recent politically-charged events. The murder of George Floyd is undeniably devastating, but while American citizens have taken to the streets to protest the actions by disgraced former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin and three of his fellow officers, some famous figures have opted to keep their mouths shut. Rihanna shared why she didn’t immediately come forward with her thoughts on the scandal and she revealed that her heart was just too heavy to make a statement.

“For the last few days, the magnitude of devastation, anger, sadness I’ve felt has been overwhelming to say the least! Watching my people get murdered and lynched day after day pushed me to a heavy place in my heart!” Rihanna penned in a caption to an Instagram photo of George Floyd. “To the point of staying away from socials, just to avoid hearing the blood curdling agony in George Floyd’s voice again, begging over and over for his life!!! The look of enticement, the pure joy and climax on the face of this bigot, murderer, thug, pig, bum, Derek Chauvin, haunts me!! I can’t shake this!”
“I can’t get over an ambulance pulling up to an arrest, a paramedic checking a pulse without removing the very thing that’s hindering it!” the singer continued. “Is this that f*cking normal??? If intentional MURDER is the fit consequence for ‘drugs’ or ‘resisting arrest’….then what’s the fit consequence for MURDER???!” Rihanna added a few hashtags that included Floyd’s named alongside Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor. Grimes spoke with Bloomberg about the controversial move, explaining the method behind her madness. “I didn’t want anyone to buy it, so I said we should just make it $10 million, and then it probably won’t sell,” she said. This will be a legal exchange as she told the outlet that “the deeper we got with it, the more philosophically interesting it became.”
“I really wanted to collaborate with my lawyer on art,” she continued. “The idea of fantastical art in the form of legal documents just seems very intriguing to me.” Then, Grimes decided to take into consideration that this COVID-19 pandemic has put a dent in millions of pockets, so instead of the $10 million price tag, Grimes has opted to take the “best offer” she receives.
You can see the musician’s art on the Gallery Platform Los Angeles between May 28 through June 3, and at Maccarone Los Angeles from May 28 to August 31. How much would you sell your soul for?
Lakeith Stanfield Has A Few Words For Lil Wayne After Rapper Speaks On George Floyd
Lakeith Stanfield caught wind of Lil Wayne's comments about police brutality and the current protests tied to the murder of George Floyd, and it's clear that he didn't agree with the rapper's sentiments.
The recent death of 46-year-old George Floyd at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers has become the straw that has broken the camel's back. Irate citizens are destroying their own cities to show their anger at seeing another black person lose their life due to police brutality and murder, and Lil Wayne addressed the controversy while speaking with Fat Joe on Instagram Live.

"I think when we see these situations, I think we also have to understand that we have to get very specific," he said. "And what I mean by that is we have to stop viewing it with such a broad view, meaning we have to stop placing the blame on the whole force and the whole everybody or a certain race or everybody with a badge." He added, "We have to actually get into who that person is. And if we want to place the blame on anybody, it should be ourselves for not doing more than what we think we're doing."
Lil Wayne has been criticized in the past for not coming forward and speaking out when instances of police brutality make headlines. He spoke on that as well, saying that people tweet and wear t-shirts, but they don't help the families or protest in the streets. "So, if I ain't about to do all that, then I ain't about to do nothing. I'll pray for ya."
The rapper's remarks were met with heavy criticism, including actor Lakeith Stanfield who shared a vintage black and white image with the caption: "Wayne stfu." Listen to Lil Wayne, check out Lakeith Stanfield's post, and read through some scathing reactions to Weezy's comments below.
