Lil Uzi Vert May Surpass Eminem’s First Week Sales In 2020
The first week sales projections for Lil Uzi Vert, Jhene Aiko and Megan Thee Stallion are in!
What an absolutely bonkers week for music releases. While it's exciting for us listeners who get to consume a variety of new tunes, the artists that dropped projects might be feeling a tad competitive. On our radar, we have Lil Uzi Vert's Eternal Atake, Megan Thee Stallion's Suga and Jhene Aiko's Chilombo to consider.
This week saw two major projects' release dates being announced on short notice, a move that could either be risky or favourable in terms of album sales. Amid a highly-publicized legal dispute with her record label, Megan Thee Stallion revealed on Wednesday (Mar. 4) that her debut album, Suga, would be arriving on Friday. According to Hits Daily Double, Suga is projected to move 35-40k album-equivalent units, which would mark Meg's biggest debut to date.
Jhene Aiko had a high chance of securing a No. 1 album before Uzi swept in with the surprise release of his long-awaited sophomore album. Chilombo is projected to pull in 95-120k album-equivalent units, which could have beat out the K-pop group NCT 127's Neo Zone - The 2nd Album (70-80k). However, Eternal Atake is heading for 275-325k, which is a wildly impressive debut when you consider that he announced the project would be releasing that day mere minutes before it appeared on streaming services. With these numbers, Uzi looks like a safe bet to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.
Uzi's sales aren't just huge in the context of this week, but also when you consider album performances in 2020 so far. Eternal Atake may surpass Eminem's Music To Be Murdered By, which currently holds the title for second-biggest debut week of the year with 279k equivalent units (BTS' Map of the Soul: 7 sits at No. 1 with 422k). If Uzi lands in the upper region of his estimated range, he could achieve a major milestone in his career and potentially send a message about album promotion tactics.
Tessa Thompson Reveals That Christian Bale Will Be The Villain Of "Thor: Love & Thunder"
The next phase will be crazy.
Based on the seeds that the MCU and Kevin Feige planted in Captain Marvel and Spider-Man: Far From Home, fans are pretty sure the Skrulls will be an important part of everything moving forward. This makes it appear that the Secret Invasion storyline will be the next major plot now that the Infinity Saga is wrapped up. Phase 4 is about to kick-off in just over a month when Black Widow hits theaters. From there, the MCU will drop Eternals, Shang Chi, and Doctor Strange flicks before circling back around to the Mighty Thor. Entitled Thor: Love & Thunder, the god of thunder is the only original Avengers member to get a fourth film. Christian Bale was recently cast in the movie, and Tessa Thompson (who stars in the film as Valkyrie) has confirmed his role in the franchise.
While speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Thompson stated, “We’re gonna have fun. We’re gonna have fun. Taika is writing, directing. Some familiar faces, some new people into the mix. Christian Bale’s gonna play our villain, which is gonna be fantastic.” The bombshell of a revelation has fans frantically investigating who Bale could be. Many believe that he will be granted the role of Silver Surfer, a sometimes villain/sometimes hero much like Loki or Nebula. Thor: Love & Thunder touches down on November 5, 2021.

LeBron James Won’t Play If Coronavirus Keeps Fans From Games
LeBron James has declared that he will not be playing any games if the NBA prevents fans from attending due to coronavirus concerns.
LeBron James is not on board with playing any games without the fans, which may be the reality for all NBA teams due to concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. On Friday, it was reported that the NBA had warned teams to prepare themselves for the possibility of playing in empty stadiums, amid the growing panic surrounding the epidemic. The news did not sit well with LeBron, who declared that he would not be playing if there were no fans in attendance.
Following the Lakers' victory over the Bucks on Friday, LeBron spoke to reporters about the matter. "Play games without the fans?" LeBron said. "No. That’s impossible. I ain’t playing." The Lakers superstar went on to explain that, since his job as an athlete is to entertain crowds, playing without anyone watching would stunt his motivation. "I ain’t got the fans in the crowd. That’s who I play for," he explained. "I play for my teammates. I play for the fans. That’s what it’s all about. If I show up to an arena and there are no fans in there, I ain’t playing. They can do what they want to do."

It appears that the NBA is following in the footsteps of other sports leagues that have suspended games in front of crowds with this potential move. The coronavirus has already affected some NBA players, such as Portland Trail Blazers guard, CJ McCollum, who announced that he was "taking a break" from interacting with fans after coronavirus hit Oregon.
"The Corona Virus has officially hit Oregon," CJ wrote on Twitter last weekend. "More specifically Lake Oswego...Make sure y’all washing y’all hands with soap for 20 or more seconds & covering ya mouths when you cough. I am officially taking a break from signing autographs until further notice. Sincerely, CJ."
"Fist pounds > high fives," he continued in another tweet. "Cleanliness is next to Godliness. Stay germ free." Words of wisdom.
Joe Budden Calls BS On Justin Bieber’s Coronavirus-Related Tour Downsizing
Joe Budden thinks Justin Bieber's "Changes" tour venue changes aren't a result of the Coronavirus scare.
On Friday (Mar. 6), it was announced that Justin Bieber's arena tour in support of his new album, Changes, would be downsizing to smaller venues. Coronavirus was cited as a factor leading to these adjustments, as it has been impacting everything else in the world. The pandemic-approaching virus was reported to have had a negative effect on ticket sales for Bieber's tour in select markets. His upcoming performances in eight arenas in different cities across the United States are being moved to the cities' respective stadiums. The venues were bestowed with the responsibility of informing ticketholders of this news, as Biebs himself refrained from offering any comment on his personal social media accounts.
Joe Budden stumbled upon this announcement and, unsurprisingly, made zero effort to bite his tongue regarding his take on the situation. "This is a bold faced lie," Budden asserted upon seeing a headline that attributed the downsizing to Coronavirus. While the podcast host didn't elaborate on what exactly he believed the lie to be, we can speculate that he thinks Bieber is using Corona as a scapegoat to cover up already-poor ticket sales. Changes was widely panned by critics and after Bieber took several years off from his music career, there's a chance that the majority of his audience outgrew his brand of pop.
Chris Paul Reacts To Knicks Trade Rumors
Paul isn't thinking about trades.
Knicks fans were rocked with the news early this week that Chris Paul is a target for their team in the offseason. ESPN's Frank Isola tweeted that the Knicks were "gathering intel" to build a good trade deal for Chris Paul this summer. "The Knicks, according to NBA sources, have been gathering intel on All Star Chris Paul and could make a run at him this summer," he tweeted. "Paul, 34, carries a huge contract but he’s had a resurgent season in OKC & is proven leader." Although the Knicks fan base has been divided on how they feel about the news, Chris Paul himself appears clear-minded about the situation.
Paul was asked after a game how he felt about the trade rumors, and he kept it real with reporters about what is really on his mind. “I imagine playing in Boston on Sunday, that’s the only thing I think about," Paul stated, referencing his team's next game. "Shoot, I haven’t seen my kids since All-Star. Might not see them until April, that’s the only thing that’s on my mind," he continued. Paul has nearly been in the league for two decades so this isn't the first time he's had to deal with trade rumors.
Khloe Kardashian Laughs Off Tristan Thompson Shirtless Tweet
Khloe Kardashian reacted to a tweet of her ex, Tristan Thompson, shirtless on an exercise bike, laughing at the user's joke about him cheating.
Khloe Kardashian can finally make light of Tristan Thompson's cheating scandal, as she reacted to a Twitter user using a shirtless photo of the NBA player to joke that they "understand" why she let him treat her so poorly. It's been over a year since Tristan Thompson was exposed for trying to cheat on his baby mother, Khloe Kardashian, with family friend, Jordyn Woods. The scandal made headlines for months, but Khloe eventually forgave Tristan, who had been caught cheating on her in the past, for his actions. Now, it looks like she's gotten to a point where she can laugh about the whole thing, since she reacted to a Kardashian superfan's tweet featuring a photo of a shirtless Tristan working out.
"You know what..." Myleeza Mingo wrote on the photo. "I understand now girl @khloekardashian." The reality star saw the tweet, and proceeded to reply with five laughing emojis. Tristan himself recently thirsted over his ex in the comments of her racy IG photo. Khloe posted a mirror shot of herself rocking a white two-piece set, which Tristan reacted to by commenting, "Saucy." He pulled a similar move in November, writing, "WOW! PERFECTION!" on a different photo of her.

In December, Khloe issued a statement on her relationship with Tristan, revealing that she had forgiven him. "I don’t hold any negative or hateful feelings towards anyone! I mean that. Life is short," she wrote on her Instagram story. "We are all humans trying to figure out this thing called life. Who am I to condemn anyone else? Yes, I’m allowed to feel hurt and pain. It would be unnatural for me to pretend as if I don’t. Personally, I don’t want to be carrying around a hateful heart. I crave peace in my life. Me holding onto hate is only going to hurt me in the end."
Killer Mike Likens Bernie Sanders To Martin Luther King Jr. & Gets Slammed Online
Killer Mike further backed his statement.
Killer Mike has been advocating for Bernie Sanders for years now. The rapper is intelligent and well-spoken, but sometimes his statements miss the mark. That's what happened this past weekend when Killer Mike compared the struggles of Martin Luther King Jr. to those of Democratic presidential nominee hopeful Bernie Sanders. The entire debacle started when Killer Mike responded to a tweet by author and Hillary Clinton supporter Zachary Wood. Wood himself was responding to a tweet by Bernie where Mr. Sanders asked the youth to get out and vote. "There’s just something about you, @BernieSanders, that pisses me off," Wood wrote.
Once he saw Wood's response, Killer Mike hit back with a screenshot of an article titled, "Even Though He Is Revered Today, MLK Was Widely Disliked by the American Public When He Was Killed." Essentially, the rapper was comparing hatred for Sanders to the anger and animosity that MLK faced while he was alive. Mike continued on to write, "Your tweet better help. Me understand I’m on the correct side of history. Thank U." Killer Mike's response received many confused and angry replies.
Killer Mike responded in kind, claiming that he has been taught by those that worked with MLK, so his opinion rules supreme.

Nike has not yet announced any release details but rumors are swirling that these kicks could actually release well before Independence Day, which could be an issue if you were hoping to keep these clean until your 4th of July BBQ.
