Last season, the Tennessee Titans shocked the world as Ryan Tannehill led the football franchise all the way to the AFC Championship game against the eventual Super Bowl champion, Kansas City Chiefs. Now, the 31-year-old quarterback is being rewarded for his efforts signing a four-year contract with the Titans worth $118 million. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Tannehill will receive $91 million in guarantees while $62 million of his contract is fully guaranteed payment. This contract has the Texas-bred quarterback raking in approximately $29.5 million per year.

After being drafted 8th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, by the Miami Dolphins and spending the first seven years of his NFL career in Florida, he was abruptly traded to the Tennesse Titans in March 2019 for multiple draft picks. Fortunately for Tannehill, the Titans had developed a solid offensive line and provided him with running support in the form of the monstrous 6'3, 238lb running back, Derrick Henry. With all of these tools in place Ryan Tannehill was able to top the league in quarterback passer rating (117.5), earn the Comeback Player of the Year Award, and earn his first Pro Bowl nomination.
The former Texas A&M Aggie somewhat broke the news today his Twitter account.
And like clockwork, once Twitter caught wind of Tannehill's bank-breaking new contract, they came with the jokes for the Titans' QB. Check out some of the best ones below:
With Ryan Tannehill receiving his big payday from the Tennessee Titans, the future of Tom Brady has become ten-times more interesting, being that the Titans were aggressively pursuing the 6x Super Bowl Champion just weeks ago. With heavy-hitting quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes, Dak Prescott, and Lamar Jackson having impending contract negotiations on the way, seeing Tannehill secure a bag of this magnitude, is a good sign for players of their caliber.
With that said, congratulations to Ryan Tannehill on signing a $118 million contract and check out some of his best highlights from the 2019-2020 NFL season in the video provided below.
NFL Players Approve CBA; Allowing For 17-Game Regular Seasons
17-game regular seasons and more playoff teams are coming to the NFL in couple years.
It looks like your favorite NFL team will have 17 games a season in the coming years. According to reports, the NFL players voted to approve a new collective bargaining agreement with the league's owners, ensuring NFL labor peace through at least 2030 and clearing the way for a 17-game regular season as early as 2021.
The vote, which required a simple majority to pass, received 51.5% approval (1,019 to 959) from players. As a result, the new CBA will allow the NFL to expand its regular season from 16 to 17 games as early as 2021 and expand the playoff field from 12 teams to 14 as soon as the 2020 season. It also includes higher minimum salaries ($198.2 million salary cap), improvements to benefits for current and former players, expanded rosters and practice squads, and changes to the league's drug and discipline policies, all of which will go into effect in 2020.
"We are pleased that the players have voted to ratify the proposed new CBA, which will provide substantial benefits to current and retired players, increase jobs, ensure continued progress on player safety, and give our fans more and better football," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in a statement. "We appreciate the tireless efforts of the members of the Management Council Executive Committee and the NFLPA leadership, both of whom devoted nearly a year to detailed, good faith negotiations to reach this comprehensive, transformative agreement."
Commissioner Roger Goodell also issued a statement, saying: "We are pleased that the players have voted to ratify the proposed new CBA, which will provide substantial benefits to all current and retired players, increase jobs, ensure continued progress on player safety, and give our fans more and better football.”
Tom Brady Has Two Requirements For Teams Trying To Sign Him
Tom Brady has just two requirements for teams attempting to sign him.
Tom Brady is entering the final era of his illustrious football career and he has just two requirements for those franchises hoping to land his services. While it is rumored that the 42-year-old quarterback is unlikely to resign another contract with New England Patriots and renegotiations with the franchise have gone sour, Tom Brady is now courting the idea of signing with another NFL team and leading their franchise to a Super Bowl opportunity. But, only on two conditions.

ESPN’s very own Dianna Russini has revealed what Tom Brady’s two requirements for any team attempting to sign him stating on the Get Up this week:
“Some of the things Brady wants: Control over roster [and] he wants to be part of making decisions the play calling.” Russini then went on to add, “I talked to Tampa Bay. They would love to have Tom Brady. They are willing to give Tom Brady the things he needs, he wants.”
While footage of Tom Brady FaceTiming Titans’ head coach, Mike Vrabel, Tennessee’s wet dream of possibly landing the most-winningest quarterback in NFL history could quite possibly be over. While teams like the new-look Las Vegas Raiders and San Francisco 49ers appear to want to go all-in for the six-time NFL Champion.
With the NFL free agency set to begin on March 18, Tom Brady’s list of options could be dramatically shortened with his demands of playing the role of partial general manager and offensive coordinator. However, with his record of reaching the Super Bowl a total of nine times and his career coming to an end, are his demands that far-fetched? According to ESPN, there are eight teams willing to provide Tom Brady with whatever he wants for him to take over at the quarterback position for their franchise.

Jay-Z Addresses NFL "Sellout" Claims On "Flux Capacitor"
Jay-Z denies “selling out” when he made his deal with the NFL last year on Jay Electronica’s “Flux Capacitor,” off his new album, “A Written Testimony.”
Jay-Z let us all know he’s anything but a sell-out for signing his deal with the NFL. The billionaire makes appearances all over Jay Electronica’s freshly dropped album, A Written Testimony, and among the tracks on which he spits his wisdom, “Flux Capacitor” includes some allusions to his controversial partnership with the NFL. When it was revealed last August that Jay and Roc Nation had decided to partner with the NFL for a special music and social justice campaign, many were disappointed in the decision primarily because former 49ers Colin Kaepernick was not involved. It was widely believed that Kaepernick had been blackballed from the NFL due to his courageous protests against police brutality, so Jay starting up a buddy-buddy relationship with the NFL felt like a betrayal to some.

Though Jay always praised Kaepernick’s actions, he was accused of selling out through this new partnership by prioritizing financial gain over what’s right. However, on “Flux Capacitor,” Jay notes that he finds these claims to be preposterous. “Why would I sell out?” he raps. “I’m already rich, don’t make no sense/Got more money than Goodell, a whole NFL bench/Did it one-handed like Odell, handcuffed to a jail/I would’ve stayed on the sideline if they could’ve tackled that sh*t themselves.”
Back in February, right before the Super Bowl LIV, Jay addressed the backlash he received for his NFL partnership. He noted that he could handle getting criticism for his choices so long as he’s still using his platform to draw attention to the same issues that Kaepernick was protesting. “As long as real people are being hurt and marginalized and losing family members,” he said. “Then yes, I can take a couple rounds of negative press.”
Antonio Brown Proposes To Baby Mama Despite Recent Turmoil
Love always prevails.
Antonio Brown has had a tumultuous year but that hasn't stopped him from living his life and trying to make things right. Things got particularly bad for Brown when he was kicked off the Oakland Raiders. He signed with the New England Patriots but was eventually released after a bevy of sexual assault allegations came to the surface. In the aftermath of these allegations, Brown had a few months where he couldn't get out of the news. One story that has followed AB around is the treatment of his baby mother, Chelsie Kyriss.
The two have had a topsy turvy history and just a few months ago, Brown was trying to have Kyriss evicted from his home. He even threw a bag of dicks at her. Now, it seems like the two have reconciled. In a recent post on his Instagram story, Brown revealed that he proposed to Kyriss and based on their embrace, it appears as though she said "yes."
Considering their history, this move is definitely a huge surprise. Regardless, you can't help but feel happy for Brown who has been through a lot over the last 12 months. He has been taking many steps to repair his relationships with those close to him, as well as former teammates. Needless to say, Brown is taking multiple steps in the right direction.
With free agency on the way, perhaps we will see him on a new team, in the not so distant future.
Roc Nation’s PSA On Gun Violence Dedicated To Fatally Shot Teen
Roc Nation released a PSA about stopping gun violence that they've dedicated to the late Hadiya Pendleton, who was fatally shot in 2013 at 15 years old.
Roc Nation's latest PSA highlights the importance of ending gun violence and is dedicated to Hadiya Pendleton, an unarmed 15-year-old girl who was shot and killed in Chicago in 2013. The PSA, released by Team ROC, serves as the latest initiative from Jay-Z and the NFL's Responsibility Program, and highlights Hadiya's Promise, an organization that hopes to end gun violence across the country. The message is narrated by Hadiya's mother, Cleopatra Cowley-Pendleton. The mourning mother begins the video by emphasizing all of Hadiya's amazing traits, before the video shifts to focus on the tragic circumstances of the 15-year-old's murder. Hadiya was shot in the back and killed by Micheail Ward in the Kenwood Park area of Chicago, on January 29th, 2013.
Cleopatra is at a loss for words to describe the pain of losing a child, but she does make a point about how her daughter's death at the hands of gun violence went on to impact her whole family. "It wasn't just a bullet that murdered Hadiya," she notes. "It was a bullet that murdered Hadiya, her mom, her dad, her brothers, her friends. We lost all her children, her children's children. We lost generations."

Cleopatra also discusses how Hadiya stood up against gang violence at her school during her short time on earth. "In junior high, she had a whole PSA: 'Don't be a part of gangs' ... She stood up for what she believed in. For her to be the one to lose her life has devastated everyone." The PSA goes on to talk about Project Orange Tree, a campaign launched by Hadiya's friends that aims to "educate youth about violence and its roots."

"If we give the young people something to do," Cleopatra stresses, "if we provide them with love and care, it would lift the awareness to the young that their voices matter and their lives matter—and they should be the ones to do something about that...There is progress in honesty, respect in not giving up. We've got to make us right again."
Tom Brady To Titans Theory Could Be Out The Window
Tom Brady’s free agency plans are the most talked-about story in sports.
Tom Brady is a legendary NFL quarterback and for the first time in his storied career, he will become a free agent. Starting next season, he will be 43 years old but that hasn’t stopped teams from wanting him. Some believe he is still an elite quarterback and could be of great value to a team looking to make the leap into the playoffs.
One of the teams that have been thrown around as of late is the Tennessee Titans. Brady was on a FaceTime call with head coach Mike Vrabel and some think he could be a great option for the team moving forward. Despite this, it’s being reported by CBS that the Titans are going all-in on trying to re-sign Ryan Tannehill.
In fact, Vrabel recently spoke about his call with Brady and says it was simply out of friendship.

“My relationship with Tom Brady goes back to 2011 training camp at Rhode Island,” Vrabel said. “We’d go to practice and a bunch of us would go out and that’s where a lot of those friendships were made. Those friendships aren’t going to stop or not continue to grow and develop now that I’m a head coach and he’s a quarterback with an expiring contract. Those are going to continue on well after we’re done playing with his family and my family.”

49ers Rumored To Want QB Not Named Tom Brady
Tom Brady's free agency plans have been heavily theorized over the last few months.
When Tom Brady retires, he will most likely go down as the greatest football player ever. His numerous records and six Super Bowl championships make him an easy contender for the honor. This year he has found himself in a peculiar situation. For the first time in his career, he is a free agent. There is a real possibility that Brady could end up with a team not named the New England Patriots. If this were to happen, the league would be changed in a very significant way.
Over the past week or so, there have been theories that Brady could actually sign with the San Francisco 49ers. During this morning's episode of Get Up!, Dianna Russini shot down the 49ers rumors and claimed that the team is actually looking at another quarterback. It just so happens that QB is Kirk Cousins.
Cousins has ties to 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan so the move would make sense. For now, these are just rumors although it seems like the theory has quite a bit of merit. Jimmy Garoppolo disappeared in the Super Bowl and Shanahan will most likely be looking to improve his personnel if Jimmy G sees a bit of a regression.
Let us know in the comments below what you think the 49ers should do.
Dak Prescott Contract Negotiations "Reignited" By Cowboys
Dak Prescott is trying to get paid as if he is the best quarterback in the entire league.
Dak Prescott has been average at best over the last few years although he and the Dallas Cowboys don't exactly see it that way. Okay, to be fair, Prescott has been above average but he hasn't been in the upper echelon of quarterbacks like a Patrick Mahomes, Aaron Rodgers, Tom Brady, or even a Russell Wilson. Despite this, he wants to get paid like he's the best QB that's ever lived. Some outlets have even reported that Prescott is seeking no less than $40 million per year.
Yesterday, we reported that Prescott was recently offered $33 million per year and $105 million in guaranteed money. Prescott has presumably denied this deal and now, according to Clarence Hill Jr, the Cowboys are reigniting talks. Todd Archer of ESPN also reported that the Cowboys may come back with Jared Goff and Aaron Rodgers money which is $33.5 million per year.
It remains to be seen what will happen here although things could take a turn for the worse for Prescott especially if the Cowboys decide to franchise tag him. In this instance, Prescott would receive less money and could even become trade bait if the Cowboys are angered enough by his hold out for more money.
Stay tuned for updates on this situation as we will be sure to bring them to you.
NFL, 2K Sports Announce Multi-Year Video Game Deal
NFL and 2K announce a multi-year partnership which will include multiple "non-simulation football game experiences."
When it comes to football video games, EA Sports' Madden franchise is king - but 2K Sports is looking to give them some competition for the first time since 2004. The National Football League and 2K today announced a multi-year partnership which will result in multiple future video games.
According to the press release, the games will be non-simulation football game experiences. Specific game titles, developers and release dates will not be announced until a later date, but 2K has confirmed the projects are in early development and will launch starting in 2021.
2K's NFL franchise only ran from 1999 2004, but the brand has experienced tons of success with their NBA 2K franchise as well as WWE 2K and other non-sports games such as BioShock and Borderlands.
“The NFL is one of the most successful sports brands in the world, known for creating incredible entertainment for fans,” said David Ismailer, President of 2K. “We’re thrilled to be back in business with the NFL in a partnership that will span multiple video games centered on fun, approachable and social experiences. It’s exciting to bring together 2K’s expertise in creating award-winning sports games with the NFL’s renowned status as a world-class entertainment and sports organization.”
“Expanding the NFL’s presence in the world of gaming has become a focus for the League as we look to grow the next generation of our fanbase and reviving our partnership with 2K was a natural step in that effort,” said Joe Ruggiero, Senior Vice President of Consumer Products at the NFL. “2K is a worldwide leader in sports video games, with a proven track record of creating best-in-class and award-winning games and we look forward to sharing more about the projects we are working on with them in the future.”
It remains to be seen what 2K's non-simulation football game experiences will entail, but I think we'd all welcome some form of arcade-style NFL Blitz.
