NLE Choppa has been trying to get away from the Youngboy Never Broke Again comparisons for the last couple of years but they keep on coming back. This time, Tekashi 6ix9ine was the one to dish them out.
Last night, both Tekashi 6ix9ine and NLE Choppa released new songs. 6ix9ine linked up with Nicki Minaj for their highly-anticipated single "Trollz." NLE Choppa also dropped what feels like the millionth version of his biggest hit, titled "Shotta Flow 5."
On Twitter, the Choppa took a slight dig at 6ix9ine and said that he better end up with more streams than "a [rat]." Well, as he often does, the rainbow-haired troll could not contain himself and he decided to come for the 17-year-old rapper's entire artistic integrity.
"This bum is a wanna be nba young boy," wrote Tekashi in the comments. Considering the fact that NLE Choppa has been chasing off those sorts of comments for his entire career, it can't be nice for 69 (and his legion of fans) to be making the same remark over and over again.
At this point, it's pretty safe to assume that "Trollz" will outsell "Shotta Flow 5," at least in the short term. Who knows, NLE Choppa might be sitting on a hit record but, for the time being, he should likely get comfortable coming second fiddle to two of the biggest artists in rap right now.
NLE Choppa Reacts To Akon & Tekashi 6ix9ine Collab
NLE Choppa can't believe that Akon is working with Tekashi 6ix9ine on "Locked Up Part 2."
When Akon uploaded a video of himself in the studio with Tekashi 6ix9ine, he likely already envisioned all of the backlash he would be receiving. The two rappers are currently working on a sequel to Akon's hit record "Locked Up" and everyone seems to have an opinion about the track.
Although the song does not yet have a release date attached to it, Akon and 6ix9ine broke the internet when they confirmed they were working together. Tory Lanez shared his opinion and so did Styles P, the original feature on the track. Now, NLE Choppa is chiming in and he doesn't seem pleased that this is happening.
The Memphis upstart tweeted a face-palm emoji, specifying that he's not too impressed with Akon right now. He's not alone as many music fans have turned their backs on the 47-year-old because of this.
The teenage rapper is admittedly not a fan of Tekashi 6ix9ine so it's not too surprising for him to be angry about this new development. Just the other week, he said that he thinks YNW Melly should be free instead of the rainbow-haired snitch.
Recently, NLE Choppa was in the news after he called out the mother of his newborn child for allegedly refusing to give him any information about his daughter. He claims that she won't even tell him her name.
NLE Choppa Implies His Baby Mama Won’t Tell Him His Daughter’s Name
NLE Choppa went on a rant about the mother of his child, implying that she won't even tell him the name of their daughter.
NLE Choppa fired some not-so-indirect shots at his baby mama Twitter this week, insinuating that she is refusing to give him updates on their daughter and won't even tell the rapper the child's name. Back in March, the 17-year-old announced that he was expecting his first child, although he failed to disclose the identity of the mother. Although it is unclear from his recent tweets whether or not the child is born yet, his baby mama seems to be keeping him far away from his offspring.

On Tuesday (May 26th), the rapper took to Twitter to begin his rant about his baby mama's actions. "Damn can I at least know the name of my baby ?" he tweeted, indicating that the child has in fact been named.
On Wednesday (May 27th), he went on to reveal that he's having (or has had) a girl, but that his baby mama is seemingly forbidding him from being involved with the child due to a recent incident in which he fired a gun at someone, although he does not specify who was shot.
"I believe in right or wrong," he wrote. "If a MF think it’s right to not keep them updated on they child y’all slow asf. Ion care who I shot at just know every action got a reaction and iSTG every situation I’m the reaction I just act a lil mo violent. But aye fucc ha finna got for #2."
"But aye since yo selfish ass wanna keep a baby yeen even wanna keep, KEEP IT POOOH POOH," he continued. "Folks deceive me as the bad person but in reality I wanted my baby to help me learn to love myself. Wanted a boy but God blessed me with a girl to learn to respect women more, shit fucced up." He finished off his series of baby-related tweets with a rather explicit message, writing, "A hoe will have yo nut in they stomach. then start to grow some. Ok juwanna mann."
NLE Choppa & Polo G Hit The Studio Together Despite Social Distancing
NLE Choppa announces he's in the studio with Polo G.
Both Polo G and NLE Choppa are essentially two of the biggest break-out artists of the past year. Both are relatively young, Polo G at 21 years old while NLE is only 17, and they both deliver hardened street-heavy raps with an emotional aggression to them. Thus, it's not too surprising to find out the two have music together in the works.
What might be surprising though, is that the two actually linked in the studio IRL together, despite the fact that most around the world are currently practicing socially distancing. Nonetheless, we know that some states are slowly but surely starting to re-open, so it's only a matter of a time before social distancing practices begin to fall through the cracks as well.
NLE Choppa revealed the two were in the studio together late last night, commenting on just how dope Polo G is. "In the studio with @Polo_Capalot that nigga hard," he wrote to his 380,000 twitter followers.
What do you think the two cooked up? Polo G, for his part, dropped a new single recently, in "DND," while NLE is still buzzing off the streaming success of his collaboration with Roddy Ricch, "Walk Em Down."
We'll be keeping an eye for this collab.
NLE Choppa Thinks YNW Melly Should Be Free Instead Of 6ix9ine
NLE Choppa takes issue with YNW Melly's request for early prison release getting denied, while "the rat", Tekashi 6ix9ine, gets to roam free.
NLE Choppa has decided to chime in on the coronavirus prison release discourse in regards to famous rappers: if you're going to free Tekashi 6ix9ine, you've got to free YNW Melly as well. The spread of coronavirus has led many prison inmates to request early release or alternate accommodations to lower their chances of contraction, including many incarcerated celebrities. Bill Cosby and R. Kelly are among some of the scorned stars that have been denied early release, along with Florida rapper, YNW Melly.

As he awaits his double murder trial for allegedly killing two of his friends, Melly has been kept behind bars, where it was reported he recently tested positive for coronavirus. He requested to be released due to these unforeseen circumstances, but was told to stay put. His condition has reportedly not improved much at all, as he has only been "treated" with Tylenol and Gatorade. He even reached out to his past collaborator, Kanye West, for help Twitter, but so far has received no response. It looks like NLE Choppa caught wind of this whole situation, and expressed just how he feels about YNW Melly remaining in prison while another rapper, Tekashi 6ix9ine, was granted early release.
"They need to free Melly trifling ass shit," Choppa tweeted on Friday. "But y’all gone free the rat." The "rat," of course, refers to 6ix9ine, due to all the snitching he did on members of the Nine Trey Bloods in court. 6ix9ine was recently transferred to house arrest due to coronavirus concerns after spending time in prison on racketeering charges, a move that caused a major uproar in the hip hop scene.
How do you feel about Choppa's stance?
NLE Choppa Is Done Taking "This Music Sh*t" Seriously
NLE Choppa vented to his fans on Twitter about how fed up he is with "this music sh*t," declaring that he's done taking any of it seriously.
NLE Choppa made some bold statements to his Twitter followers about his music career on Friday. The rapper hopped on what he feels is "the only app I really knew how to connect with my fans on" to open up about how how he really feels about "this music sh*t," and it's not looking good for Choppa supporters. It appears as though he might be throwing in the towel, or, at the very least, he won't be putting as much effort and care into his work anymore.
"Done taking this music sh*t serious folks," he wrote. "I’ll just chill ion like this b*tch ass sh*t anyway." Choppa's last body of work came in the form of his debut EP, Cottonwood, back in December. His most recent solo single, "100 Shots," just dropped last month, followed by his collab with Roddy Ricch, "Walk Em Down." He also hopped on Blueface's "Holy Moly" and Polo G's "Go Stupid" along with Stunna Vegas earlier this year. However, if this tweet is any indication, he won't be be rolling out any dope features or upcoming projects any time soon.
Right before tweeting his current state of mind about music, Choppa insisted that, "Ion say sh*t for attention I said it cus I meant it!" This kind of statement coupled with his possible disregard for pursuing music further is concerning for fans, considering the recent comments he's made regarding his mental health. Last month, Choppa opened up about struggling with depression, an experience that he planned on discussing in his upcoming music. He went on to post an alarming message about suicide, tweeting, "Imma Kill Myself The Last Day Of December 2020." We hope that Choppa is taking care of himself and that he finds his love of music again so he can use it to heal his pain.
Azriel Clary Flexes Her Rapping Skills Over NLE Choppa Beat
Azriel Clary has been working on an EP, and while the public knows that she’s a singer, the aspiring star shows off her rapping skills, as well.
As time progresses, Azriel Clary continues to come out of her shell. The former girlfriend to R. Kelly was once a fierce defender of the disgraced singer, but now that she’s separated herself from him and reconnected with her family, the 22-year-old is showing more sides of herself. One of her dreams is to become an accomplished singer and over the last few months, she’s shared her talents on social media. On Wednesday (April 1), she flexed her rapping skills, as well.
“You guys, I actually love rapping as much as I enjoy singing. it may be raunchy, but somehow it’s empowering to see my strength, and to know that NONE of us (all my beautiful queens) none of us need a man that isn’t helping us grow physically, mentally, financially, and spiritually,” Azriel wrote in a caption to her video. She noted that this was her remix to NLE Choppa and asked for her followers to tag him if they enjoyed her rhymes.
Lyrically, Azriel exudes confidence in herself, including her sexuality. Her name will continue to be linked to R. Kelly and we’re certain to hear more about her as information regarding his cases surface. For now, Azriel Clary is hoping to show what she’s made of separate from Kelly, so check out her bars and let us know if you think she has what it takes to become a star.

NLE Choppa Shares Concerning Message: “Ima Kill Myself Last Day Of 2020”
Prayers up for NLE Choppa.
It looks like NLE Choppa could use some professional help right now. About a week after he opened up about his mental struggles, saying he was “broke inside,” the rising sensation has once again shared another alarming social media post, this time threatening suicide.
Choppa took to Twitter on Saturday and scared fans when he said he was going to kill himself on the last day of the year. This came right before he talked about having his music “live on for him.”
“My Music Gone Live For Me Imma Be With Y’all. I Promise... My Music Gone Let You Know Every Thing You Need To Know Blue heart love y’all,” he tweeted. “Imma Kill Myself The Last Day Of December 2020 Y’all Better Enjoy Me While Y’all Can Blue heart??” he added.
This round of tweets comes exactly a week after he opened up about how he suffers from depression, which he largely attributes to the trauma he has been exposed throughout his brief 17 years. "Everybody go through depression I suffer from that I think in the blacc community that shit ignored... on my album i got a song for everybody who suffer from bipolar depression, mental health issues man anything I hope it touch u, let u know u not alone I’m with you.”
NLE Choppa Opens Up About Mental Health Struggles: "I’m Broke Inside"
NLE Choppa shares how trauma led to his depression and insomnia, which he will discuss in his upcoming music.
Over the years, discussions of mental health have become increasingly common in hip hop music. Artists have become more comfortable expressing vulnerabilities without feeling it detracts from their sound or image. Rising memphis rapper NLE Choppa just expressed his goal of using his platform to speak on these issues and make his struggling fans feel less alone.
In a heartbreaking series of tweets on Saturday (Mar. 7), NLE Choppa opened up about how he suffers from depression, which he largely attributes to the trauma he has been exposed throughout his brief 17 years. After revealing that he has trouble sleeping due to things he's seen, he wrote, "I just wanna be understood it’s hard tho I got problems." He will do his best to make his fans feel understood in their struggles by offering a song on his next album that validates low points. "Everybody go through depression I suffer from that I think in the blacc community that shit ignored... on my album i got a song for everybody who suffer from bipolar depression, mental health issues man anything I hope it touch u, let u know u not alone I’m with you."
He then went on to explain how it's hard for him to get candid about his struggles because people doubt his tough upbringing. "And fore all you pussy ass n****s steady speaking on me 'he from the burbs' BITCH IM FROM 3687 COTTONWOOD My momma still doing taxes out that bitch til this day u need yo taxes done hit ma deuce my baby pics inner too she lost customers being my manager sorry momma."
Choppa jokes that he's even willing to undergo a lie detector test to prove that he's been through a lot. "Y’all don’t know me mentally I’m throwed I’m only 17 and done seen trauma and I done did trauma to others. They quicc To say choppa ain’t this chop ain’t that next tattoo session I’m getting a lie detector test we gone see do I rap cap or not."
Later in the day, the rapper provided a reassuring message that he has to "protect [his] happiness" for his son that is on the way. Read all the referenced tweets below.
