It seemed as if Lil Nas X stole the show on Friday (April 3), but not because of anything related to his music career. The young star took over 2019 with "Old Town Road" and recently he grabbed attention once again with a series of photos. Lil Nas X is shown in pastel colors, adorned with flowers, or wearing a corset for his Guardian Weekend magazine's photoshoot, and there were plenty of people who had something to say about the pictures. Akademiks didn't skip a beat at sharing his thoughts which included a mention of Young Thug.
Akademiks retweeted the four images and added his own caption. "Young Thug walked so Lil Nas X could run," he wrote, referencing Thugger's Alessandro Trincone dress that he wore on the cover of his 2016 mixtape Jeffrey. Some believed Akademiks was taking a jab at Lil Nas X's sexuality, although the social commentator didn't actually say anything about the rapper about being gay or effeminate.
However, Lil Nas X can not only take a joke, but he can deliver them, as well. He retweeted Akademiks with a quip of his own. "Just say i look cute bro u don’t gotta do all this," Lil Nas X replied. Check out the photos and the brief exchange between the two below.
Lil Nas X Crashes Disney World Wedding: Watch
Lil Nas X takes wedding crashing to another level at Disney World.
Lil Nas X continues to provide the masses with wholesome content as he was recently spotted at a wedding at the happiest place on earth, Disney World. The two-time Grammy Award winner crashed a wedding entering the venue to his hit single "Old Town Road" holding the hand of the bride as the guests in attendance went wild. While the details of the video are extremely limited, it appears that the unsuspecting crowd had no idea that the megastar musician was going to be in attendance.

During the short eleven-second clip, one woman was caught staring directly into the camera saying, "What the f*ck is happening right now," as Lil Nas X made his impromptu appearance sporting a white cowboy hat and iridescent graphic hoodie.
While this has been the most successful year in his entire life, Lil Nas X is still having some legal issues in regards to his hit song, "Rodeo." A duo of producers claim that the "Panini" singer stole the song's instrumental but Lil Nas X's legal team is shooting back at the producers hoping for the Manhattan Federal court to dismiss the charges entirely. Coming off of a Grammy Awards ceremony performance at the end of Jan., staring in a Doritos Super Bowl commercial, and hitting the Oscars scene, it's hard to believe that Lil Nas X is still willing to take wedding singer gigs but yet here we are.

Lil Nas X Wins Grammy For Best Music Watch The Acceptance Speech
With his very first single, Lil Nas X won a Grammy.
After peaking on the 19th spot of the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart last year, Billboard disqualified Lil Nas X's single "Old Town Road" from the chart claiming that the song did not 'fit the genre.' Now, billions of streams later, peaking at the number one spot in ten different countries, and staying number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs chart for a record-breaking nineteen weeks, Lil Nas X is the most prominent figure in all of music today.
Now, to add insult to injury, Lil Nas X has won a Grammy for the song's visuals for Best Music Video. The video presented as an 'official movie' featured cameos from some notable personalities including Chris Rock, Haha Davis, Rico Nasty, Diplo, Jozzy, Vince Staples, and Young Kio, the song's producer. The five-minute production starring Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus on the run after an alleged bank robbery. The "Panini" performer eventually finds himself out of place in the hood while Billy Ray Cyrus makes his way to a bingo hall to perform his notorious verse.
The video directed by Calmatic has made Recording Academy history as the 62nd annual Grammy Award winner for Best Video. After it was announced that the video was the winner, Lil Nas X and company approached the stage in obvious hysteria. Calmatic took to the mic first thanking his supporters, family, and colleagues. Lil Nas X took to the mic following the director's speech clearing his throat and simply stating:
"Thank You."
The 20-year-old multifaceted artist proceeded to walk off stage before racing back to the mic to say
"And thank you to my man, Saul, right here, he's amazing and Cal, you're incredible."
Some may not like it but Lil Nas X went from a struggling artist to a Grammy Award-winning singer/songwriter in a single year all thanks to "Old Town Road." Check out Lil Nas X's acceptance speech below as well as the list of Grammy winners, here.
Lil Nas X Reveals His Mother Is An Addict: "We Don’t Have The Closest Relationship"
He tried to get her into rehab but claims it “didn’t quite work out.”
He’s a rookie in the music scene, but Lil Nas X has made history. He’s broken Mariah Carey‘s record for the longest-running No. 1 song on the Billboard 100 chart, and although the “Old Town Road” hype has dissipated in recent months, the song is an unforgettable milestone for the 20-year-old artist.

The 62nd annual Grammy Awards will take place this Saturday (January 26) in Los Angeles, and Lil Nas X has received his first nominations—six, to be exact. He recently caught up with Variety to chat about his quick rise to stardom while sharing a few unknown facts about his background. “So much happened during my rise,” X said of artists like Nipsey Hussle, XXXTentacion, and Juice WRLD dying. “You know, drugs and murders. And my grandmother passing [in 2018]— she was the first person close to me who died. It was devastating. And it made me a hypochondriac: I’d wake up, heart racing. It was scary.” That caused him to “[smoke] [weed] heavily, but then I started feeling more connected with the universe, and taking everything as a sign.”
Lil Nas X also shared that while he was one of the most talked-about artist of 2019, he was secretly attempting to get his mother into rehabilitation. “I never really talk about my mom. She’s an addict so we don’t have the closest relationship,” he said. “Even trying to get her better — things didn’t quite work out. But there’s still love… The biggest surprise of becoming globally famous? On the outside, everybody loves you — but on the inside, everything [feels] the same.”
Back in September 2019, he announced that he was taking a break from music after he canceled two festival appearances. “I wanted to do more performances last year, but it didn’t go as planned and I didn’t have confidence,” he said. The time off wasn’t particularly helpful. “I would start to overthink it all and I’d get overwhelmed. Like, what song should I put out next? Or should I put out multiple songs? Or how do I prove this person wrong?”
Make sure to tune into the Grammys this weekend to see if Lil Nas X takes home any trophies. In the meantime, swipe through below to check out a few images from his Variety feature.
Post Malone, Juice WRLD & Lil Nas X Have Most Streamed Songs Of The Decade
Drake, Bruno Mars, 21 Savage and others also had some of the most popular songs of the decade.
At the beginning of the decade, would anybody have guessed that Post Malone, of all people, would have three of the most popular songs of the last ten years? The "White Iverson" rapper blew up on SoundCloud a few years ago and his rise to superstardom has been nothing short of incredible. With his goofy persona and his face filled with ink markings, the Texas-raised rapper has become a true fan-favorite after being criticized for so long by the hip-hop community. Everything he releases turns to gold with all three of his albums enjoying tremendous chart success, streaming like crazy. It's honestly no surprise, knowing what he's become, that three of his records made Nielsen's list of the top-streamed songs of the decade but one newcomer is lucky enough to find his name right at the top.
As we begin a new decade, we look back at all the amazing hits we received in the 2010s. If you were wondering what the ten largest songs of the last ten years were, we've got you covered, beginning with the one-year-old "Old Town Road" at the pole position with 2.5 billion total streams. Right behind it is "Despacito" with Post Malone's first entry, "rockstar," earning the third spot. Elsewhere on the chart, Posty finds himself at No. 7 and No. 9 with "Congratulations" and "Sunflower" respectively. Of course, it would be incomplete without Drake's "God's Plan" earning a spot, as well as the ultra-popular "Lucid Dreams" from the late Juice WRLD.
Are there any surprises on this list? Who do you think will lead the next decade in hits?
Lil Nas X Posts Two IG Videos That Show The Success Of "Old Town Road" Within A Year
Lil Nas X made his dreams come true in just one year off just one song, and he’s not afraid to revel in the success.
Now that 2019 is over, we can pretty much all agree that “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X was officially the song of last year. Along with the equally-successful remix featuring country icon Billy Ray Cyrus, the sleeper hit not only topped the Hot 100 but went so far as to replace Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s classic 1995 duet “One Sweet Day” as the longest-running No. 1 record in Billboard history. Now, the young country trap superstar is letting all 5.6 million of his Instagram followers know just how far you can go in a year’s time.
With an IG slideshow posted earlier today (seen above), Lil Nas X gave us a look at the runaway success of “Old Town Road” from two different perspectives: one video dating back to a year ago today after he independently released the record in December 2018, and the other posted just a few hours ago to signify the entire 365-day time span of his success. While the glow-up sees him going from a Lynyrd Skynyrd T-shirt you could probably cop at your local Target to a diamond grill and all-white get-up that looks almost too expensive to even look at, at least he knows that a good slice of pizza defies all class systems. Congrats, X!
