"Hoopers say what y’all want. If @KingJames said he hooping. We all hooping. Not Personal only BUSINESS?????? ?? #StayWoke ✊?✊?✊?," he wrote on Twitter, Sunday.
The NBA is set to return on July 30 in Orlando, Florida 22 teams; however, many players have voiced their disapproval of the league returning so soon. Kyrie Irving, in particular, has been a prominent voice in opposition to the return time-frame. “I don’t support going into Orlando. I’m not with the systematic racism and the bullshit. Something smells a little fishy," Irving told The Athletic, this week.
On the other hand, LeBron James is among the players who reportedly disagree with Irving. The thinking here is that the players could use their earnings to donate to the Black Lives Matter movement.
Houston Rocket guard Austin Rivers explained this point view, Saturday, saying "Us coming back would put money in all of our (NBA players) pockets. With this money, you could help out even more people and continue to give more importantly your time and energy towards the BLM movement. Which I'm 100% on board with. Because change needs to happen and injustice has been going on too long."

With sports leagues all over the world on a lengthy hiatus due to the Coronavirus, fans have been starved for some of their favorite content. Many leagues are trying to come up with fun ways to keep the fans engaged and the NBA is one of those entities. In fact, they decided to partner up with Take-Two Interactive and ESPN, for a massive NBA 2K tournament with some of the league's players. After a successful first round, the quarter-finals went down last night on National TV.
There were some pretty big wins as Patrick Beverley knocked off Andre Drummond, Deandre Ayton upended Trae Young, Devin Booker beat Rui Hachimura, and Montrezl Harrell defeated Derrick Jones Jr. The games were much closer than they were in the first round and with the semi-finals on the horizon, it looks like the best of the best are about to play each other.
The semi-finals and finals will go down on Saturday, April 11th starting at 8PM EST. The matchups will begin with Harrell taking on Booker, meanwhile, Ayton will play Beverley. If you factor in the trash talk factor, we feel as though Beverley will probably win his matchup. Meanwhile, Booker is known for gaming so he has the best shot at winning the whole tournament.

Patrick Beverley Gets Wild With The Trash Talk During NBA 2K Tourney
Patrick Beverley was having a little too much fun while decimating Hassan Whiteside in NBA 2K.
Patrick Beverley is one of the most ruthless trash-talkers in the entire NBA so it shouldn't be that much of a surprise that he brings that exact same energy when it comes to gaming. Beverley is actually participating in the NBA 2K Players-Only tournament which is being put on by the NBA and ESPN. Last night was the first full slate of games and Beverley got to take on Hassan Whiteside of the Portland Trail Blazers.
In the end, Beverley came away with a devastating 85-54 victory as he played with the Milwaukee Bucks and Whiteside used the Los Angeles Lakers. As you can see from the clip below, Beverley came through with quite a bit of trash talk and was relentless every time he scored a bucket. All Whiteside could do was laugh but there was certainly some envy deep down inside of him.
All of the players were ranked based on their 2K ratings which meant Whiteside was a third seed and Beverley a 14th. Considering these ranks aren't based on actual video game skill, this upset shouldn't come as a surprise. For instance, Derrick Jones Jr. beat Kevin Durant despite the latter being the first seed of the whole tournament.
It remains to be seen who Beverley will play next so stay tuned for updates as we will be sure to bring them to you.
Kevin Durant Upset Early In NBA 2K Tournament: Results & Scores
The NBA 2K Players Only tournament saw quite a few upsets in Round 1.
NBA players have nothing else to do right now so as a way to supplement their inability to play basketball, the good people at Take-Two Interactive put on a tournament in collaboration with ESPN and the NBA. Sixteen NBA players were selected to be a part of an NBA 2K20 tournament that will be broadcast on National Television. In fact, the first four matchups were on TV last night and the entire event lasted just over three hours.
The four matchups included Kevin Durant vs. Derrick Jones Jr, Tray Young vs. Harrison Barnes, Zach Lavine vs Deandre Ayton, and Hassan Whiteside vs Patrick Beverley. Thanks to his overall rating, Durant was the number one seed but he ended up being upset by Jones, who beat him 78-62.
Some of the other results include Ayton defeating Lavine, 57-41, Young destroying Barnes, 101-59, and Patrick Beverley blowing out Whiteside, 84-54. On Sunday, there will be four more matchups as Donovan Mitchell takes on Rui Hachimura, Devin Booker battles Michael Portis Jr, Andre Drummond goes head to head with DeMarcus Cousins, and finally, Montrezl Harris will duke it out with Domantas Sabonis.
The tournament has already been a whole lot of fun and we can't wait to see what else comes from it, further on the down the line.
Who do you think is going to win?
Patrick Beverley Says Guarding Lebron James Is "No Challenge"
Clippers' Patrick Beverley is confident in his abilities to defend Lebron James.
Los Angeles Clippers guard, Patrick Beverley, claims that guarding Lebron James is a breeze. Earlier today (March 8), the Clippers faced off against the Lakers and fell to the 16-time NBA Champions 112-103. The season series between the two is now 2-1, with the Clippers currently in the lead. However, Lebron James and the Lakers asserted themselves today forcing the new-look Clippers to stay defensive-minded throughout the entire 48-minute exhibition match. Unfortunately for the Clippers, James was nearly impossible to contain as he notched a total of 28 points, 9 assists, and 7 rebounds in 35 minutes of action.

During Beverley's post-game interview, a journalist present asked the 6'1 guard what the challenges are guarding the future Hall of Famer to which he instantaneously responded, "no challenge." The interviewer attempted to ask another question to which Beverley cut him off repeating himself stating, "no challenge." In a third attempt to rephrase the question, the journalist asked Beverley again about guarding Lebron James as he responded, "it's not hard at all (to guard James)."
In the past, Beverley has had success guarding Lebron James as he executed a game-deciding block against the 6'8 point-forward in the fourth quarter of the primetime Christmas day earlier this season. But, this time around James and the Lakers got the last laugh against the Clippers pulling through to win the game down the stretch of their matchup Sunday afternoon.
Come playoff time, a Clippers-Lakers series can be the deciding factor of who will be crowned this year's NBA champion. Hopefully, Patrick Beverley and his Clipper teammates can remain healthy to provide basketball fans with some high-quality sports moments that will go down in history.

Patrick Beverley Jokes About Potential Drug Dealing Career
Patrick Beverley isn’t afraid to make some jokes and say what he’s really thinking.
Patrick Beverley has consistently been one of the most talked-about defenders in the NBA over the last couple of years. He is a constant thorn in the side of opposing players and while he does have some off nights, he remains a key piece of the Los Angeles Clippers puzzle. With this in mind, it shouldn’t be surprising that Beverley has a bit of reputation when it comes to his playing style. Beverley has been very open about the way he plays and doesn’t seem to think twice about speaking his mind.
In a recent report from Ohm Youngmisuk of ESPN, Beverley spoke about why he plays the way he does and what he would be doing if it weren’t for basketball. At one point, Beverley even joked that he would probably be an elite drug dealer.

“Mouths need to be fed, you know?” Beverley said. “Coming from where I come from, I didn’t have the luxury of having a trust fund. Or money from generations. Or the luxury of hoppin’ into the family business, you know? It’s either hoop or you sell dope. I probably would’ve been the best drug dealer in the world.”
Luckily for Beverley, things never got to that point and now, he’s thriving in the NBA. In fact, Beverley and the Clippers are frontrunners for the NBA title. A championship win would certainly make Beverley’s grind all that more worth it.
Patrick Beverley Trashes Jimmy Butler After Sustaining Injury
Beverley is all about the trash talk.
Patrick Beverley is known as the most vocal trash talker in the entire league despite consistently putting up a triple-single on the score sheet. He could get 40 points put on his head and he would still have something to say about your performance. It's why his teammates love him and opponents hate him. Last night, Beverley put his talents to good use as the Los Angeles Clippers decimated the Miami Heat by a score of 128-111.
Heat superstar Jimmy Butler ended up leaving the game early with a shoulder sprain and ended up finishing the match with just 11 points. Beverley took this opportunity to clown Butler on Twitter where he called him a "church mouse" who couldn't back up his own play.
It remains to be seen how Butler is going to respond to Beverley. There's a pretty good chance he'll just ignore it, especially when you consider Beverley scored a miraculous five points. With his latest injury in mind, we're sure Butler has a lot more important things to worry about right now. Without Butler, the Heat could be in big trouble and he'll want to get back in the lineup as soon as possible.
As for Beverley, this is the type of energy we will be seeing from him throughout the season and well into the playoffs.
Patrick Beverley Clowned After Joining All-Star Game Skills Competition
Some are curious as to what he will be doing there.
Patrick Beverley is known around the league as one of the more menacing defenders out there. This is mostly because of his trash talk and presence on the court. Some nights, Beverley gets 40 points put on his head although that doesn't stop him from trying to damage out on the court. Having said that, Beverley has a polarizing reputation with fans that ranges from fandom to downright hatred. Regardless, Beverley continues to play his own game and his teammates love him for it.
Today, Adrian Wojnarowski made a surprising announcement on Twitter as the ESPN reporter revealed that Beverley would be participating in the Skills Competition at NBA All-Star Weekend in Chicago. For now, it remains to be seen what field Beverley will actually be competing in.
This news comes just a couple of days before the trade deadline so fans rightfully thought Woj's tweet was about a potential Beverley trade. In the end, they were disappointed to find out the true cause of why he was making the news. Some fans even took the opportunity to clown, Beverley, asking why someone like him would be in the Skills Competition of all things.
Check out some of the reactions to the news, below.
