Earlier today, Dwyane Wade appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss his 12-year-old daughter Zaya's transition. He shared the story of when Zaya recently approached him and his wife, Gabrielle Union, to inform them that she no longer wishes to be referenced with male pronouns or identified as Zion. Zaya's decision was met with endless support from her parents, who are now fully dedicated to educating themselves on how to be better allies to the LGBTQ+ community. "So internally it’s our job to one go out and get information, to reach out to every relationship that we have," Wade said on Ellen. "We just tried to figure out as much information as we can to help our child be her best self.”
Now, Union is taking the opportunity to introduce Zaya to the world and commend her. "Meet Zaya," Union captioned a video Zaya speaking to her dad about self-acceptance. "She's compassionate, loving, whip smart and we are so proud of her. It’s Ok to listen to, love & respect your children exactly as they are. Love and light good people."
View this post on InstagramFollowing Wade and Union's public comments regarding Zaya today, they received an outpouring of praise from friends and fellow celebrities. Union took to Twitter to express gratitude for the support and remind everyone that she and her husband are still learning what true allyship entails. She wrote: "Huge huge huge THANK YOU to everyone whose dms I slid into, friends, & family who provided information, resources, love & encouragement. We are humble LGBTQ+ allies with ALOT to learn & grateful for all the support. We encourage yall to check us as needed. Again, thank you!"
Lori Harvey Buys A New Home
Lori Harvey is levelling up her life.
Model Lori Harvey has been at the centre of the most dramatic, gossip-filled headlines for the last twelve months so it’s about time there’s something positive making its way around the internet. People have become obsessed with the daughter of Marjorie and Steve Harvey’s personal life, theorizing about who she’s dating and investing way too much time on rumours surrounding her. When it was reported that she was getting romantic with Diddy’s son, social media took that and ran. Then, she was linked to Diddy himself and she became a major search trend. Now that she’s confirmed her relationship with Future, that direction continues. This week, the model revealed on her page that she had purchased a brand new home, moving in and receiving a few housewarming presents to welcome her to the crib.
Dimitrios Kambouris/Getty ImagesAccording to The Blast, Lori Harvey is a new homeowner, copping a spot after her return from a girls’ trip to Jamaica. The 23-year-old has not shared photos of the house on social media but she did inform her following that a friend sent her a bottle of champagne to celebrate, along with a handwritten note.
Earlier this week, Harvey was involved in a terrifying situation after somebody tried to jack her Rolls-Royce in Atlanta. Thankfully, she’s alright and can continue striving in all aspects of her life.
Andreas Rentz/Getty ImagesRebecca Black Reflects On "Friday" Anniversary: Depression, Bullying & More
Fun, fun, fun, fun, looking forward to the weekend!
Rebecca Black's debut single "Friday" was a viral hit, however, it didn't earn her the type of attention she was hoping for. Black was the talk of the country. Her track was meme'd over and over again, becoming one of the biggest records of 2011 with millions of views on YouTube. Unfortunately, the then-thirteen-year-old girl became the butt of a nationwide joke, being bullied online and at school because of her single. She persevered through the pain though, taking things one day at a time and now, she's 22-years-old and remains a pop singer. Today marks the nine-year anniversary of "Friday" and Black took to social media to pen an essay about the impact it had on her life.
Jon Kopaloff/Getty Images"9 years ago today a music video for a song called 'Friday' was uploaded to the internet. Above all things, I just wish I could go back and talk to my 13-year-old self who was terribly ashamed of herself and afraid of the world," wrote Black on Twitter.
The viral star notes how difficult life became for her, falling into a deep depression and getting picked on incessantly from bullies at school. She says that, when she was fifteen, she had major depressive episodes. At seventeen, people would throw food at her and her friends in the cafeteria. At nineteen, every producer she contacted told her that they would never in a million years consider working with her.
"I'm trying to remind myself more and more that every day is a new opportunity to shift your reality and lift your spirit," she said, keeping positive. "You are not defined by any one choice or thing. Time heals and nothing is finite. It's a process that's never too late to begin."
The response to her post has been overwhelming for the artist, who says that she wants to cry (happy) tears reading all of the supportive messages that people are sending her. Read her full post below.
Talib Kweli & Michael Rapaport Debate Use Of The N-Word: "Why At This Point?"
The age-old debate is discussed between a veteran rapper, a comedian and a controversial social commentator who you may have seen in a few films.
Veteran actor and social commentator Michael Rapaport has a lot of opinions about everything, whether he’s beefing with Kodak Black, backtracking on his beef with Meek Mill, age-shaming Ariana Grande, blasting Drake’s singing on Scorpion, or just questioning Lil Xan’s overall upbringing — oh, and that’s just scratching the surface! However, his latest stance on a controversial subject while visiting Talib Kweli‘s People’s Party podcast on UPROXX might just have people on his side this time around.
Talib and co-host Jasmin Leigh discussed a handful of topics with Rapaport, including cancel culture, his A Tribe Called Quest film and that “ashy ankles” controversy with Kenya Moore amongst other things. Things really got interesting though when it came to the use of the N-word, which the Higher Learning star questioned Kweli on why he and other rappers, specifically past guest The Game, still use it at this point in history. “You’re known as a wordsmith,” Rapaport assured Kweli, continuing by adding, “but I’m like, ‘Why is Kwe—N,N,N,N,N—at this point?'” The conversation leads both Talib and Jasmin to break down why the word is used in black culture and how, simply, those who aren’t African American should be careful with how they introduce their opinions on the N-word conversation as to not be “harmful by mistake.” The conversation spans for a little over two hours, so it’s definitely worth watching to get a better context of the entire discussion.

Did Blac Chyna Just Announce She’s Pregnant?
Blac Chyna shared a photo of an ultrasound on Instagram.
Blac Chyna just loves to keep the people guessing, doesn’t she? After being criticized for attending the Academy Awards this weekend, specifying that she was her recording engineer’s plus one guest, the reality star is making new headlines for a recent social upload, which seems show the entertainer making a very exciting announcement.
Frazer Harrison/Getty ImagesAlready a mother of two, Blac Chyna seemingly just announced to the world that she’s expecting another bundle of joy, posting a photo of an ultrasound on Instagram. Her caption makes no mention of the baby being hers but, considering the photo appeared on her personal page, fans are reasonable in interpreting this as her proper announcement. “Blessed 2020,” wrote the former dancer as her caption, staying true to the cryptic nature of the post. To muddy things up even further, Chyna deleted the post mere moments after posting it.
The comments show just as much confusion as you would expect, with fans asking who the baby’s father is, if the kid is hers, and more questions that are totally explainable. Hopefully, Blac Chyna comes through with an official statement, clearing up the post and confirming whether or not she’s actually pregnant. If this is an announcement on her part, we would like to congratulate the star on another addition to her family, which already includes King Cairo Stevenson and Dream Kardashian.
Macaulay Culkin Speaks On His Childhood Friendship With Michael Jackson
“If I had something to speak up about, I would totally do it.”
In Macaulay Culkin’s new cover story for Esquire, it’s written that “[Michael] Jackson was often the schoolmate [Culkin] never had.” The friendship between these two began when Jackson reached out to Culkin after he starred in Home Alone. Given that the child actor was 10 years old at the time, their relationship was placed under scrutiny following the airing of HBO’s Leaving Neverland documentary, which shared testimonies alleging that Jackson had molested two minors in the late 80’s and early 90’s. In his Esquire interview, Culkin shuts down any suspicions that he may have been a victim of similar circumstances.
“Look,” Culkin said. “I’m gonna begin with the line—it’s not a line, it’s the truth: He never did anything to me. I never saw him do anything. And especially at this flash point in time, I’d have no reason to hold anything back. The guy has passed on. If anything—I’m not gonna say it would be stylish or anything like that, but right now is a good time to speak up. And if I had something to speak up about, I would totally do it. But no, I never saw anything; he never did anything.”
Culkin then shared a story of when James Franco probed him about Leaving Neverland during a chance encounter: “Here’s a good Michael Jackson story that doesn’t involve Michael Jackson at all: I ran into James Franco on a plane. I’d bumped into him two or three times over the years. I give him a little nod as we’re putting our bags overhead. Hey, how you doing? Good, how ya doing? And it was right after the Leaving Neverland documentary came out, and he goes, ‘So, that documentary!’ And that was all he said. I was like, ‘Uh-huh.’ Silence. So then he goes, ‘So what do you think?’ And I turned to him and I go, ‘Do you wanna talk about your dead friend?’ And he sheepishly went, ‘No, I don’t.’ So I said, ‘Cool, man, it was nice to see you.’ ”
In the Esquire piece, Culkin also recounts his last time seeing Jackson.
Bill Nye Two-Steps To Lizzo’s "Juice" On The Runway: Watch The Video
Bill Nye knows has one of the cleanest two-steps in the game.
Bill Nye has had one of the greatest resurgences into the limelight after taking a nearly two-decade hiatus from educating the youth about science. His new Netflix series, Bill Nye Saves The World, continues to bless viewers with new seasons, he's entered the political realm raising awareness about climate change, he's even educating misinformed personalities in the hip-hop realm. Now, the 64-year-old mechanical engineer might have found a new calling after walking the runway during New York Fashion Week, this past week, as an aspiring model.

On Wednesday (Feb. 5), Bill Nye participated in the Blue Jacket Fashion Show at Pier 59 Studios. The television personality modeled a blue floral, tuxedo jacket, designed by Nicholas Graham, black slacks, and leather wingtip dress shoes. Unlike most trained models who are taught to remain expressionless while walking down the runway, the highly-popularized educator decided to take his modeling assignment to the next level and two-step his way down the runway to Lizzo's "Juice" as the show's final presenter.
Several other celebrities participated in this year's Blue Jacket Fashion Show including former New York Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia, Mario Cantone, CNN's Don Lemon, former New York Giants wideout Victor Cruz, and more.
This particular event holds a special significance to Bill Nye as the fashion celebration benefitted the Prostate Cancer Foundation, an initiative funding research for the cure to prostate cancer. During a recent interview with Addy Medina, the Science Guy revealed that his father fell victim to prostate cancer and expressed how grateful he is to be able to support a good cause stating:
"You can test for this prostate hormone. So I think that we are, and by ‘we’ I mean researchers, are close to solving this problem and so to support this cause is cool."
In 2017, Bill Nye also walked the runway at the Blue Jacket Fashion Show during New York Fashion Week. Check out the footage of the young Science god, f*** it up on the runway to Lizzo's "Juice" in the video provided by Jessica Weiss below.
Jennifer Lopez Fans Joke About Stealing An Oscar After "Hustlers" Snub
Jenny might not have scored an Oscar nom this year, but the block had her back.
This past Sunday was a historic night as the 92nd Annual Academy Awards aired live from Los Angeles in front of a packed house of Hollywood hopefuls. Despite the obvious (and anonymous) bigotry instilled within the Academy, Parasite (2019) became the first non-English film in history to win Best Picture. The film's director, Bong Joon Ho, also earned honors for Best Director, Best International Feature Film, and Best Original Screenplay sweeping the Oscars in their respective categories. However, there were a lot of casual film fans that believe that one Bronx-bred actress turned pop phenom in Jennifer Lopez should have been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for her performance as Ramona in Hustlers (2019).
Footage of some employees removing a giant Oscar statue from the red carpet caught the attention of one EW writer who joking captioned the clip, "THEY'RE STEALING IT FOR JENNIFER LOPEZ!" Prior to the show airing and throughout the entire ceremony fans of J.Lo bombarded the timeline with hot takes claiming that the "Medicine" singer was not only deserving of a nomination for Best Supporting Actress but should have won it for playing the devious stripper, Ramona. Check out some of the Tweets in support of Jennifer Lopez below:
While Jennifer Lopez might have been snubbed, it was Laura Dern who took home the Best Supporting Actress Award for her performance in Marriage Story (2019). Coming off of one of the most controversial Super Bowl halftime performances in recent years and hopping back into the music game head-first, Jennifer Lopez is having one of the greatest resurgences into the realm of mainstream entertainment and she's doing it all at the age of 50.

Vanessa Bryant Shares Touching Tribute To Kobe & Gigi: "I’m So Mad"
Vanessa Bryant asks for us all to continue praying for her family and the others affected in the Calabasas helicopter crash.
Kobe Bryant was given a notable tribute at the beginning of the In Memoriam tribute during last night’s Academy Awards, having won an Oscar for his short film Dear Basketball just last year. The late basketball legend has been remembered countless times by members of the sports community, as well as people around the world. His family, including his wife Vanessa and his three surviving daughters Natalia, Bianka, and Capri, has issued a couple of statements on the deaths of Kobe and Gigi and the latest message comes by way of Vanessa’s social media pages.
Alberto E. Rodriguez/Getty Images“I’ve been reluctant to put my feelings into words,” started off Vanessa Bryant. “My brain refuses to accept that both Kobe and Gigi are gone. I can’t process both at the same time. It’s like I’m trying to process Kobe being gone but my body refuses to accept my Gigi will never come back to me. It feels wrong. Why should I be able to wake up another day when my baby girl isn’t being able to have that opportunity?! I’m so mad. She had so much life to live. Then I realize I need to be strong and be here for my 3 daughters. Mad I’m not with Kobe and Gigi but thankful I’m here with Natalia, Bianka and Capri. I know what I’m feeling is normal. It’s part of the grieving process.”
She explains that she felt it was important to share in case somebody else in the world was looking to her to provide clarity during their own moment of grief. There is no doubt that Vanessa has been incredibly strong after losing her husband and her daughter. Continue to keep the Bryant family in your thoughts.
O.J. Simpson Rehashes Past Problems With Gayle King Amid Kobe Bryant Controversy
“I’m not the most objective guy when it comes to Gayle King..."
While the intensity of the controversy surrounding Gayle King's recent interview with Lisa Leslie is dying down a bit, O.J. Simpson chiming in with his two cents it's worth taking into consideration for a moment. To recap the controversy, King has been receiving heavy criticism for asking Leslie about whether Kobe Bryant's past rape allegations leave a stain on his legacy. 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg and Boosie Badazz all publicly denounced King for bringing this up so soon after Bryant's passing. Oprah, who is a close friend of the CBS This Morning host, detailed that King was struggling with all the backlash and had to increase her security due to violent threats.
O.J. Simpson has made a habit of sharing selfie videos on social media, speaking his mind on whatever topic he so pleases. With the King story taking over the news, O.J. recalled his past issues with her. “I’m not the most objective guy when it comes to Gayle King," he said. “Two years back on national TV that she made a comment that it was inappropriate for me to be visiting my ex-wife’s grave, something that my family and friends have done for years on birthdays, Christmas and special occasions — something that’s none of her business and I couldn’t understand why she felt the need to make that comment on national TV.”
The Juice then got into why he disapproves of what King did during the Leslie interview. “The other thing is this Kobe Bryant, Gayle King thing. I know this thing about Kobe, she’s going to claim ‘journalistic integrity.’ A whole lot of people that have journalistic integrity didn’t feel that this was the right time to do that. There will be plenty of time in the future to bring up all aspects of Kobe’s life. Right now we should be celebrating the greatness of Kobe and his family. God bless Kobe and his family. I’m just sayin, take care.”
