While many of us were in a deep state of slumber, Drake was hammering away at some hits in the lab, deciding to break out of his shell and preview a ton of previously-unreleased songs on Instagram Live.
The rapper rarely ever lets fans into his world before the album is ready to drop, but these are uncertain times and Drake felt a sudden urge to unlock all these vibes early, allowing his most loyal (and awake) fans to reap the benefits.
One of the most exciting songs played during the live-stream, which was shared by OVO Mark, was the long-anticipated collaboration from Drake and Playboi Carti called "Pain 1993." As pointed out by Complex, the record is expected to be included on the upcoming album by Playboi Carti, titled Whole Lotta Red.

Another track that turned heads was a collaboration between Drake, Fivio Foreign, and Sosa Geek.
Among the other chunes played during the display are a joint from the 6ix God and Popcaan, and other solo joints that we've heard rumblings of over the years.
We also got news that "Not Around," one of the songs that recently surfaced online, will actually be on Drake's new album in a different form. The version that people have heard is not complete.
Who's ready for new music from The Boy?
Drake & Popcaan Have New Collaboration In The Works
Drake and Popcaan prepare for a Coronavirus-free summer with some new heat.
Popcaan made his official OVO debut in December with Vanquish. Surprisingly, there was no Drake feature on the project but that doesn't mean they don't have a few songs in the cut. We heard the "Controlla" leak which, let's be real, should've made the final cut of Views but we haven't heard anything from the two of them as of recently. Thankfully, that could change very soon.
Even though the summer is uncertain, it looks like Popcaan and Drake are getting ready to have the summer on lock. Tapping in with each other on Instagram Live, the two artists promised to send each other new music to collaborate on, even though they can't physically lock into the studio together. "Yo, alright, watch. I'mma make a tune tonight. I'mma fawad it," Drake promised before Popcaan stated that he too would make a song and send it back to Drake.
Drake did compliment another song that Popcaan sent over to him prior. Perhaps that might be something that Drake ends up on, maybe for his own album. He did recently confirm that he was in the studio working on a new project, though he hasn't shared many details about it. It seems like there's a good chance he waits until the Coronavirus pandemic to die down before he does that, though.
Popcaan Confirms Drake Collab On 2020 Album, Details Vybz Kartel Relationship
Popcaan speaks highly of Drake and Vybz Kartel.
Dancehall’s always had a global appeal but in recent times, it seems like the sounds have seeped into the sound of pop music. Popcaan is without a doubt one of the most popular dancehall artists right now. Under the wing of Vybz Kartel, he grew in popularity throughout Jamaica and across the world. Although Vybz is currently incarcerated, Popcaan explained how Vybz Kartel has always been one of his earliest supporters.
“[Vybz Kartel] is a Man wa bet pon me from morning. Him did already tell the world say Popcaan ago do this. Is no surprise to him, him know me great long time. Him could a see it from the minute me sing pon the stage and the way how me operate around the studio a day time,” he told Ebro.
He also went on to explain his connection to Drake and officially locking in his deal with OVO. He explained that his debut on the label was a mixtape because he has so much music in the cut, although he didn’t know what they had in their plans. “The first time when me realize say Drake really in tuned with me music, him tweet and say Drizzy Drake a the only man she want,” he said. “Drake support dancehall music a lot. Him already a shed light pon dancehall culture by shedding light on Popcaan.”
Poppi also confirmed future plans with the label confirming a collaboration with Drake will appear on his official album through OVO. Peep the whole interview below.
Drake Basically Lives In A Museum: See Tupac & Snoop Dogg Collectables
A letter from Obama, a LeBron James action figure, and much more.
At this point in his career, Drake can afford just about anything he could possibly want. While financial wealth isn't the end goal for all recording artists, it certainly is a motivator for the majority of rappers. People see the flexing that occurs on social media and they think to themselves: "if I perfected my skills as a rapper, maybe I could get this rich?" The reality of the situation is that most people will never get to Drake's level of success. The Canadian artist has calculated his rise to superstardom for years, taking advantage of certain situations and screwing his head on tight for a long ride. We've seen glimpses of the interior of Drake's lavish Toronto mansion in the past and today, he felt like showing off a number of high-ticket collectables that he's got laying around the crib. Some of them are so special that a price can't even be estimated for them.
Updating his Instagram story with handfuls of images from around the house, Drake gave fans a sneak peek into some of the things he values most. Much of the artwork displayed in the candid imagery has a musical background, including a cassette tape from DJ Screw, a vinyl of Michael Jackson's Thriller, and a gift from Tom Ford to commemorate his use of "Tuscan Leather." Drake has often found his interests pouring out into other realms though. Clearly a super-hero movie fan, he has action figures of the Joker and Harley Quinn, as well as some sports ones, including one of LeBron James when he was with the Miami Heat. Perhaps the most special possession that Drizzy showed off is the personal letter he received from Barack and Michelle Obama, thanking him for supporting their daughter Sasha at her sweet sixteen. Black-and-white photographs of Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg round out the post, making us seriously want to explore the rest of Drake's crib.
