Ever since the death of George Floyd at the hands of police, there have been massive protests all across the country. These demonstrations have been organized and met with a ton of resistance from the police. Regardless, people continue to protest the injustices that have been committed for years and it's a beautiful sight to see everyone so united. Athletes have been adding their voice to these discussions and some have even shown up to protests.
Damian Lillard is one of those players as, over the past couple of days, he has been spotted walking arm in arm with protesters in Portland, Oregon. The images of Lillard's presence in these protests have been quite powerful and on Twitter, he continues to speak out against police brutality and the horrific images that have been a mainstay on the news.
"If you attack the police then they have the right/reason to arrest you... but when the police attack YOU then you have the right to lay down and beg for your life?" Lillard questioned.
These conversations are extremely important at this time in the country's history and it's dope to see someone like Lillard come out and speak his mind. Plenty of other NBA stars are doing so as well which is certainly going to help propel the conversations, even more.
Black Woman Sues Marriott Hotel After They Asked Her To Sign A "No Party" Waiver
She’s asking for $300,000.
Felicia Gonzales checked into Portland’s downtown Marriott hotel location after driving from California to visit family and was presented with a document that she was asked to sign, promising she would not hold any parties. After signing to enable her to get her room for her five night stay, Felicia watched as white guests checked in after her and were not subject to the same document.

According to Oregon Live, 51-year-old Felicia is now suing the hotel chain for $300,000. The document was a two-page policy informing guest of noise limits and “not to insinuate any distrust in the ‘average’ guest.” Felicia believes she was targeted because of her race.
“No hotels want to have parties in them and we don’t want that type of business,” the document read. The incident occured in January 2019 and Felicia’s case states how she’s a Marriott rewards member and “had never had a problem or noise complaint at any other Marriott hotel she had ever stayed at.”
“Having to sign a “NO PARTY” Policy form did not feel right to Ms. Gonzales, so she went back to the front desk,” her lawsuit reads. “Ms. Gonzales observed as multiple Caucasian guests checked in. None of them were asked to sign a “NO PARTY” Policy.”
