Team Drizzy has a bone to pick with veteran country music star, Kenny Chesney, who just pulled a slimy move after securing the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart with his new album, Here and Now. Earlier this week, it was announced that Drake's new mixtape, Dark Lane Demo Tapes, had debuted at No. 2 with 223,000 equivalent album units, roughly 10,000 units shy of Kenny's 233,000. This chart position marked the end of Drake's decade-long, nine-project streak of No. 1 debuts, which was devastating enough for fans, but the news that Kenny hadn't exactly played fair made it even worse.

To boost his album sales, Kenny offered a ticket bundle deal for his already-cancelled Chillaxifcation Tour. While the tour had been halted as a result of the pandemic, Kenny was hopeful that he'd be able to hit the road by May 30th, thus offering the sales bundle with the hopes that the tour would be back on soon. However, days after securing the No. 1 spot, Kenny postponed the tour once more until 2021, essentially scheming his way into more album sales by offering a bundle for a tour that would not be happening anytime soon.
Drake fans are not happy, especially since the rapper's album garnered a whopping on-demand 269 million streams, while Here and Now only generated a measly 13.4 million. The theory is that Kenny would never have landed that No. 1 spot had he not engaged in the controversial act of sales bundling, which Drake did not even have to resort to in order to get high sales numbers. Check out fans' reactions below, some of which include a call on Billboard to adjust the ways they measure album sales in order to exclude the use of ticket bundles.
Justin Bieber Postpones Entire 2020 Tour Due To Coronavirus
Justin Bieber has postponed all of his 2020 “Changes” tour dates as a result of the worsening coronavirus pandemic. All dates will be rescheduled.
Justin Bieber has officially postponed his 2020 Changes tour in light of the coronavirus pandemic. As the spread of coronavirus in the U.S. and Canada persists, Bieber and his team decided it was best to reschedule all of the dates on his North American tour, which was set to kick off on May 14th in Seattle. “In light of the current public health crisis,” Bieber’s team announced in a statement, “and with the deepest concern for all those being affected, Justin Bieber will be postponing all currently scheduled 2020 dates for The Changes Tour.”

“While Justin—along with his band, dancers, and crew—has been hard at work preparing an amazing show, he has always put the health and well-being of his fans first and foremost,” the statement continues. “Justin is anxiously awaiting the opportunity to get back out on the road and perform in a space that is safe for everyone.”
The tour includes 45 stops across the United States and Canada, with a closing show in East Rutherford, New Jersey originally scheduled for September 26th. While the dates have all been postponed, previously purchased tickets will be honoured. “[Justin] asks that his fans hold on to their tickets, as they will be honoured as soon as the dates are rescheduled,” reads the statement. “Information on rescheduled dates will be forthcoming soon.” Justin had previously been forced to downsize the venues of several shows on the stadium tour as a result of low ticket sales. His team claimed that “unforeseen circumstances” caused them to relocate some shows to arenas, as the weak turnout occurred in markets in which tickets went on sale just days before coronavirus hit the U.S.
Live Nation Cancels All Tours Temporarily Due To Coronavirus
Live Nation has announced it will be putting all foreign and domestic tours on hold for the time being, due to the rapid spread of coronavirus worldwide.
Live Nation is halting all domestic and international tours as a temporary measure, due to the growing concerns over the coronavirus outbreak around the world. Per Billboard, the event promoter has instructed all of its touring shows to pack their bags and head home for the time being. Following suite of other events around the world that attract large gatherings of people, current touring arena shows under Live Nation will be cancelled through the end of the month in an effort to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Select shows on Thursday and Friday this week will, however, proceed as scheduled. The company plans to re-evaluate the situation come April, with hopes of resuming touring by May or June. Among the tours affected are Post Malone, Billie Eilish, Jason Aldean, Zac Brown Band, Cher, Kiss, Tool, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Chris Stapleton.

Live Nation has also ordered all of its employees not to come into the office, and instead work remotely from home. For the most part, their Beverly Hills headquarters will be closed until the end of March. Despite the unfortunate circumstances, the company is not planning to lay off any employees, as staff have been informed that the company is “well-positioned to weather the closure.”
Coachella Responds To Elon Musk’s Jab By Citing Jaden Smith Performance
Coachella swiftly shuts down Elon Musk's claim that the festival sucks now because of corporate sponsorship.
Coronavirus-related health concerns are wreaking havoc across the globe and the important question that remains up in the air is: Is Coachella still going to happen this year? Instagram influencers and Frank Ocean fans are in shambles as the possibility looms that the music festival will be cancelled. It seems Coachella is too crucial to be shut down entirely though, as rumors are circulating that it will simply be moved from April to October. While ticket-holders rejoice that they will still get the chance to take photos of their fits at the hottest music event of the year, Elon Musk believes Coachella should be cancelled altogether due to it "sucking."
Amid all the speculation regarding the festival's fate, Musk tweeted, "Coachella should postpone itself until it stops sucking." He then explained his stance in follow-up tweets: "Too much corporate sponsorship killed the vibe... Was good maybe 5 or 6 years ago when you could [wander] around & find great unknown bands."
While it goes without saying that the tech mogul is far from anti-capitalist king, Coachella's official Twitter account decided to call out Musk's hypocrisy. Coachella replied to Musk's criticism with a photo of Jaden Smith standing atop a floating Tesla Model X during his set at that very festival last year. To drive home how swiftly Musk got shut down, Coachella simply captioned the photo, "lol". People may not have ran from Jaden's performance to the nearest Tesla dealership, but the photo speaks volumes. Even Musk felt the need to concede: "Ok fine, that was good haha."
Jaden then chimed in with a message that tried to bring reconciliation in a time of fear and divisiveness: ":) @elonmusk I Love You @coachella I Love You."
Megan Thee Stallion Comments On Potential Coachella Delay
Megan Thee Stallion would be distraught if Coachella (or as she refers to it, “Hot Girl Chella”) gets cancelled.
Last week was rough for Megan Thee Stallion, but she came out on top. After seeking a temporary restraining order against her label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, Meg was granted permission to bypass her recording contract and release new music on Friday. Fans may have just expected a single off her debut album, but instead, she delivered a nine-track EP, Suga, named after her new alter-ego. TMZ got a chance to ask the Houston rapper about the project’s initial reception in NYC over the weekend.
An on-the-go Meg said, “All my hotties love Suga,” referring to her fanbase by their pet name. “They can’t wait til the big album drop and it’s really holding them over.” While Suga was initially teased to be the title of her debut album, she instead decided to drop the EP as a care package while she puts the finishing touches on her next project. In light of all the label issues that Meg has been tackling, TMZ also asked her to offer some advice to up-and-coming artists who might need to navigate the overwhelming music industry. “Make sure your team solid. Make sure you solid and don’t ever let anyone try to stop your creativity,” she asserted.
Hot Girl Meg then commented on one more trending topic: the possible cancellation/postponing of Coachella. The festival essentially serves as a year-in-review for music. Considering Meg has been taking the industry by storm, her scheduled performance at Coachella could be a huge moment for her to prove her showmanship and solidify her place in the hip hop landscape. That being said, it makes sense that she is worried about Coronavirus-related health concerns interfering with her debut at the two-weekend fest. “All I know is, Coachella, you better not cancel Hot Girl Chella.” she warned. However, with or without Meg’s permission, it looks like Hot Girl Chella might be postponed until October.
In other Megan Thee Stallion news, she started a sexy dance challenge for the next single off Suga, “Captain Hook”.
