The murder of George Floyd has incited reasonable ire in many. Social media platforms worldwide have been lit with people vocalizing their anger about police brutality, but Denver Nuggets small forward Michael Port Jr. has called for people to not only pray for Floyd and his family, but for the four officers involved in his death, as well. The tweet earned tens of thousands of responses, and most weren't in support of Porter's stance.

"As much as you pray for George family, gotta also pray for the police officer(s) who were involved in this evil. As hard as it is, pray for them instead of hate them...Pray that God changes their hearts," the 21-year-old professional basketball player tweeted. After one person replied that they weren't going to pray for any of the officers involved because they get to return home to their families, Porter said he didn't want to feed into hatred.
"You're right, hatred is why George is dead, and so many others before him," Porter wrote. "The hatred is why our hearts are breaking. That hatred is why I pray to a God of love." Still, people were unrelenting and accused the young NBA player of taking a passive approach. Check out Michael Porter Jr.'s tweets along with a few mixed responses below.
Jennifer Lopez’s 12-Year-Old Daughter Is Writing A Children’s Book

12-year-old Emme Maribel Muñiz, daughter to superstar parents Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, is officially the author of a children’s book. On Wednesday (May 13th), Random House Children’s Books imprint, Crown Books for Young Readers, announced that it will be publishing a picture book by the young writer titled Lord Help Me. Lord Help Me is inspired by Emme’s everyday prayers. “In school I learned about sloths and how they’re facing extinction, so I began to pray for them in my nightly prayers,” the pre-teen said in a statement. “I wrote this book to help raise money to save sloths while also teaching other children how we can pray and ask for help — two things that bring me a lot of comfort.” Her famous mama shared a post on Instagram to celebrate her only daughter’s incredible feat.
“So proud of my lil coconut, Emme, as she shares her own daily prayers in her very first book LORD HELP ME!” J-Lo wrote. “This book will offer families a way to embrace the peace and power of everyday faith. It’s not out until 9/29, but you can pre order at the link in my bio.”

“When we met for the first time,” said vice president and publisher of Crown Books for Young Readers, Emily Easton, “I was so inspired by [Emme’s] heartfelt desire to share the positivity and sense of calm that daily prayer brought to her life with other children and their families.” A press release for the book also noted: “This sweet and reassuring picture book walks readers through ordinary moments when Emme asks God for help — some small, like waking up for school or getting along with a sibling, and others big, like helping to save the planet and all its creatures.” Lord Help Me is targeted to readers ages 3 to 7 years old and features illustrations by Brenda Figueroa.
Alex Fine Suggests Russell Wilson Shared Secret Prayer To Land Cassie
Alex Fine is in love with his growing family.
When Ciara secured Russell Wilson as her man, she revealed that she had previously prayed for a partner like him before he came into her life. “I prayed for a God-fearing man; I prayed for discernment; I prayed for wisdom, to really learn from the wisdom that I gained from the experience I was going through. I prayed for a man that loved kids because obviously, me having my son— if you’re going to love me, you [have to] love him,” she said.
Cassie and Alex Fine recently welcomed their first child together and the personal trainer shared a lovely photo of his two ladies to Instagram with a caption that reads, “The absolute greatest gifts God gave me is two of the most beautiful happy girls.” A follower of Alex commented, suggesting that Ciara may have possibly shared her prayer with Cassie to secure a man like her husband.
“What if Russell shared the prayer with me?” Alex responded.
Before the birth of their daughter, Frankie, Alex penned a sweet letter to his newborn about the amount of love he plans on showing her. “I will be the first man in your life and will show you the greatest love and affection now and forever,” he wrote. “[…] I will be the Dad that never forces my opinions on you. I will love whatever you do in life as long as you’re happy. I promise that I will be kind, sweet, and you will always be daddy’s little girl.”
Offset’s Posted Up In The Studio Praying For God To Send Him A "Vibe"
Offset’s hoping for another one.
One of Offset‘s last shares to Instagram detailed how the Father of 4 rapper had his 20/20 vision strong and wasn’t letting the behaviour of others determine how he feels. The rapper’s mantras have been keeping him going in the right direction since his latest share to his feed sees him posted up in the studio working on something that we can only assume will be pure fire.

The caption for the image sees Offset sharing a little pre-studio ritual that involves asking the higher power for some support. “SOMETIMES I PRAY BEFORE I RECORD GOD ALLOW ME TO CREATE A VIBE!!!” he wrote. Father of 4 was the last studio album by Offset and we can only hope the next tape arrives sooner than later.
“I cried to myself while I was doing this album ’cause I was talking about my story and my kids,” he said of his last project. “When I did a song, I started getting memories of my grandma, my struggles, my partner that was killed, the thoughts I had while I was incarcerated, and my kids’ faces were there in my head. I love my kids, this is who I do it for.”
