Amidst all the pain and tragedy, many have taken to gaming as an escape. And while many gaming events have been postponed in light of the ongoing protests, Sony has taken it upon themselves to kick off their massive Days Of Play sale, one that generally takes place in tandem with E3. Set to be active until June 17th, Days Of Play boasts major deals on many of the PS4's exclusive titles, with some going as far as 50 percent off.
For those looking to build their collection, you can't really go wrong with any of Sony's exclusive titles -- especially not at these price points. PlayStation Hits games like The Last Of Us Remastered, Horizon Zero Dawn, Nioh, Bloodborne, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, God Of War, and more, have been listed at prices as low as $9.99. Several other exclusives like Days Gone, MediEvil, and Death Stranding have also benefitted from some nice deals; you can check out the full list of discounts over at the PlayStation store.
Aside from the digital options, the same deals can be seen at several participating retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, Walmart, Gamestop, and Target. Beyond games, deals extend to controllers, headsets, and PlayStation Plus subscriptions. Should you be looking to expand on your collection, Days Of Play stands as one of the best PlayStation sales of the year -- are you planning on taking advantage of it?
"Tony Hawk Pro Skater" 1 & 2 Gets Remastered For PS4, Xbox
Tony Hawk shared the news on Instagram that his iconic video game will be getting re-released this fall for PC, XBox One, and PS4.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater probably holds a special place in the hearts of those who recount the days of PS1s, Dreamcast, and N64. Even the sequel that dropped on PS2’s and Xbox is one of the waviest video games ever. They just don’t make ’em the same anymore. Thankfully, Tony Hawk skated through with some excellent news earlier today when he hit the ‘Gram to announce that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be getting re-released and remastered for Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
With a September 4th release date set, the remastered version takes on a revamped version of a classic. The original characters, tricks and challenges will be included but they’ll also be leveling up the create-a-park mode for online and multiplayer gaming modes.
The beauty of the Tony Hawk Pro Skater series is that it meshed together music, skateboarding, and gaming culture together. The first two installments of the video game series, specifically, have been heralded for the soundtrack curation with the inclusion of hip-hop, punk, and much more. Many of the original songs on the soundtrack will also be included, though some didn’t make the cut over licensing issues.
“The challenge of a faithful remaster is knowing where to push the boundaries, and what to keep sacred,” Simon Ebjer, COO Vicarious Visions, the company remastering THPS, said. “It’s important to capture the original experience.”

"Play At Home" Initiative Announces Free PS4 Games
PlayStation is bringing some free games to the masses thanks to their new “Play At Home” initiative.
Video games have become one of the preferred means of passing time during the perpetual quarantine, though the hefty price tags that come associated with new games don’t exactly go hand-in-hand with a struggling economy. As such, many gamers have looked to completing their backlogs, perhaps wrangling that elusive trophy or achievement preventing them from full glory. Sadly, replaying that what’s already owned can only go so far, and Sony has officially taken measures to combat stagnation with the “Play At Home” initiative.

As explained in an official PlayStation blog post, “Play At Home has two components: first, providing free games to help keep the PlayStation community entertained at home; and finally, establishing a fund to help smaller independent game studios who may be experiencing financial difficulties continue building great experiences for all gamers.”
Starting on April 15 at 8 pm PDT until May 5th, PlayStation users will be able to digitally download both Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey, two games that are widely considered essentials within the community. In addition to providing users with the option to download two classics for free, Sony has also confirmed that they will be designated ten million dollars to assist their independent development partners.
Should this be an ongoing initiative, look for a new batch of games to kick off the start of next month — in addition to those provided on PlayStation Plus (on which Uncharted 4 is currently available for download), gamers can expect to have their hands full for the foreseeable future. Have you played any of the Uncharted games or Journey yet?
"The Last Of Us 2" Delayed Indefinitely
PlayStation gamers have been dealt a crushing blow as Naughty Dogs confirms "The Last Of Us 2" has been delayed.
It was only a matter a time, but PlayStation owners have officially received one of the first major gaming-related blows of the year. Naughty Dog's anticipated title The Last Of Us Part 2, originally slated for a May 29th, 2020 release, has officially been delayed indefinitely. While many suspected that delays were inevitable, Sony recently assured gamers that their upcoming PS5 console would not be impacted by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Unfortunately, the same could not be said of their exclusive titles.
Developer Naughty Dog took to Twitter to issue a statement on the delay. "As you've likely just seen, the release of The Last Of Us Part II has been delayed. We're sure this news is just as disappointing to you as it is to us. We wanted to reach out to all of you in our community to give you a little more information.
"The good news is, we're nearly done with development of The Last Of Us Part II. We are in the midst of fixing our final bugs," it continues. "However, even with us finishing the game, we were faced with the reality that due to logistics beyond our control, we couldn't launch The Last Of Us Part II to our satisfaction. We want to make sure everyone gets to play The Last Of Us Part II around the same time, ensuring that we're doing everything possible to preserve the best experience for everyone. This meant delaying the game until such a time where we can solve these logistic issues."
At this time, Naughty Dog has yet to issue a revised release window. On the plus size, this admittedly unfortunate news should give gamers ample reason to revisit that backlog of theirs -- perhaps now is the time to start trophy hunting.
