JoJo remixed her debut single, "Leave (Get Out)" into a must-watch social distancing public service announcement that is catchy enough to influence people to stay the hell in the house. With Donald Trump recently declaring the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) a national emergency and local governments closing recreational businesses, limiting restaurant capacity, and temporarily closing public schools, the general public has been urged to only leave their homes if it is absolutely necessary. Now, with the governor of California, Gavin Newson claiming that 56% of the California population could possibly contract the life-threatening disease, hopefully, more public figures will follow JoJo's lead in encouraging their fellowship to self-isolate as much as possible. The now 29-year-old singer/songwriter took to her Instagram Story to unleash a myriad of coronavirus-themed remixes to some of her most popular songs. During the brief clip, JoJo stands in the comfort of her dining room as she graciously croons, the following reworked lyrics:
"You been out doing god knows what
Breathing and touching everyone
And I refuse to die
Imma keep my ass inside"
JoJo later continues during her feed singing:
"I never thought corona could be such a nasty bitch
But now that she’s here
Boy all I want is for you to use common sense
Stay in, right now
So learn how, to cook now
And practice good hygiene"
"Leave (Get Out)" might have been JoJo's first-ever studio single, but it allowed the songstress to make history as she became the youngest solo artist in history to top the Billboard Pop Songs chart at the tender age of just 13-years-old. The artist born, Joanna Noëlle Levesque also has a new project entitled, Good To Know (2020), expected to drop sometime this pring.

Dating Apps, Tinder & Bumble, Release Coronavirus PSAs
Tinder & Bumble have released statements in regards to the coronavirus outbreak.
Dating apps, Tinder and Bumble, have released official statements in the wake of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) which is now become a national emergency. With schools, bars, restaurants, and sporting events shut down around the country, the single population will and has already grown bored of being at home on what many would consider an unofficial quarantine schedule. With a spike in usage over the past couple of days, Tinder and Bumble have been forced to make public service announcements for those looking to hook up their matches with the recent and sudden outbreak of the coronavirus in the United States. Tinder was the first of the dating applications to release a statement in the form of an in-app notification warning its users of the dangers of meeting up with people in the midst of a pandemic. The statement titled “Your Being Is Our #1 Priority” reads,
“Tinder is a great place to meet new people. While we want you to continue to have fun, protecting yourself from the Coronavirus is more important. Here are some of the tips to keep in mind:
- Wash your hands frequently
- Carry hand sanitizer
- Avoid touching your face
- Maintain social distance in public gatherings”
Tinder then provides its users with a link directing them to the World Health Organization (WHO) website. Bumble’s company spokespeople spoke directly with TMZ, revealing that their global customer service team has directing their users to the CDC and WHO sites for up-to-date info on the current coronavirus pandemic.
Bumble also revealed that if you happen to meet someone you’re interested in on their platform, you don’t have to meet up with them instantly, you can have a conversation over the phone or get on FaceTime and enjoy the company of your match in a non-physical setting.
With no attractions or date spots open throughout the country anyway, why risk exposing yourself to a life-threatening disease just to hook up with someone you probably don’t know that well or will like within the next two days?
Magic Johnson Sends Important Message to NBA Fans
Magic Johnson had to check in with the NBA fanbase, real quick.
Coronavirus has effectively shut down the NBA season until further notice. It remains to be seen when the league will be back although many believe the best case-scenario would be something like mid-June. Needless to say, it's a sad time to be a sports fan and by extension, a sports writer. Trust me, I know. At this point, it feels like we are living in some sort of dystopian society where we have to bend the knee to the virus that has begun to consume our every day life.
In light of this, governments around the world are urging people to practice social distancing while also making sure we wash our hands and undergo proper hygiene protocol. The NBA is trying to do its part in regards to this crisis as today, they had Magic Johnson do a PSA in which he addresses fans and tells them to stay safe.
At one point in the video, Johnson mentions social distancing and makes sure to reiterate how important it is for everyone to listen to proper instructions and not do anything that could jeopardize the health of others.
In the coming days and weeks, it will be crucial for everyone continue these efforts so we can protect the vulnerable.

"Well, well, well we are out here in a certified pandemic," Lecrae began his brief message before delving in and letting his fellowship know that he is currently on his own personal research route of the now pandemic COVID-19. The 40-year-old emcee stated:
"I stayed up late doing as much research as I possibly could. I was on the phone earlier today talking on the phone with someone who is very close to a biotech scientist who spent their 50-year career working with viruses such as corona and actually on coronavirus. COVID-19 is a new strand of coronavirus, so corona has been here for a while. This is a new strand."
The "I Can't Lose" rapper then details that the virus directly attacks the respiratory system and urges his viewers to remain calm, to practice social distancing, and maintain effective sanitary conditions. The co-founder of the independent music staple, Reach Records, also notes that those arrogantly unphased by the life-threatening disease should also take precautions to protect those who might not have the strongest immune systems.
The highly-popularized Christian rapper then decided to take things down the religious path, stating:
"God is in control. We live in a world that is broken. There have been pandemics, there have been wars, there have been bombs, there have been plagues since humanity's been here. It is not an excuse for us to act inhumane and for us to act as if God is not in control and as if he's not a God we can trust. He's brought people through it. Not without pain and not without suffering, not without loss. This shows me where my true rewards are, where my hope really is, where my faith really is."
While he is one of the most skilled lyricists in the game today, he also has the wherewithal to remain studious, calm, and conscious about one of the most troubling times, the world has seen in regards to contagious infection.
