This is a monumental moment for Megan Thee Stallion. The rookie rapper has had a whirlwind two years as she’s risen through the ranks to become one of the most sought after artists in the industry, and it was recently announced that she received her first No. 1 single. With the help of Beyoncé, who hopped on the remix to “Savage,” Megan Thee Stallion has reached a goal that she previously only dreamed of accomplishing. To help celebrate, Beyoncé made sure that Megan felt special.

Megan Thee Stallion posted a Boomerang video of her floral arrangement from Bey along with a card that reads, “Congrats on your number on queen, Love B.” Over the clip Megan wrote, “We did that, thank you queen.” Meanwhile, in another post on her Instagram page, Meg showed off her acting skills by remaking a scene from Scary Movie. It’s obviously one of her favorites because she penned in the caption that she’s still wishing for a role in another installment of the series, if the opportunity ever presented itself.

“I wish they still made ‘Scary Movie’ so I could be in it ? I love Brenda !!! @tiktok,” the rapper wrote. Check out the posts below.

The Billboard Hot 100 was a whole mess last week as Tekashi 6ix9ine was battling Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande for the top spot on the chart. Fast forward seven days and neither one of those two songs, "GOOBA" and "Stuck With U", are even in the Top 10. 

For the first time ever, Megan Thee Stallion has a #1 single as "Savage" with Beyoncé has officially been launched to the top. In its tenth week on the Hot 100, the song rises four spots to reach #1. 

Considering Beyoncé “got this shit from Tina” in the first place, it was only right that the “Savage (Remix)” matriarch gave the viral TikTok dance challenge a shot—in her own way. Following the massive success of Beyoncé and Megan Thee Stallion‘s remix of the latter’s “Savage,” it didn’t take long for those dancing youths on TikTok to come up with a corresponding routine with choreography ten timers harder than that of the original. The remix challenge is just that—challenging—which is why the 66-year-old decided to come up with her own moves to her eldest daughter’s track.

“Haaaa!!!” Tina wrote on the video. “Yeah i know they didn’t get their dance moves from me !! They got em from their daddy! Its okay i still like to dance!!!!! And i got two new knees.” Tina’s choreo proves to be much simpler and easier to follow than that of the #SavageRemixChallenge, consisting mostly of just swaying back and forth with some hand motions. However, when Bey’s line “If you don’t jump to put jeans on/Baby you don’t feel my pain” plays, Tina decides to demonstrate this action with a tight grip and a hop.

Although she’s appreciative of her shoutout on the wildly popular remix, Tina has confessed that she doesn’t quite understand what “savage” actually means.

It was a monster week for female rap as the top two spots on the Billboard Hot 100 are currently occupied by a couple of rising superstars in Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion. After it was reported that Meg and Doja were battling for the #1 position on the chart, the “Say So” songstress inched out the competition and secured her first-ever #1 single. She also made history as this is the first time a duo of female rappers stands tall at the pole position. 

Megan Thee Stallion is proud of all of her fans for streaming her “Savage” remix so hard after Beyoncé hopped on the remix. She seemingly is not sweating her #2 position on the chart either. After all, that’s still the highest she’s ever been so why would she complain?

“HOTTIES WE JUST HIT NUMBER 2 ON THE HOT 100,” excitedly exclaimed Megan in the caption to her new post. “We’ve come so far. I promise to keep working hard and getting better everytime ! Thank y’all for growing with me. look at all this girl power!”

While we’re sure Megan was hoping for the #1 spot herself, she’s being a good sport about her fellow femcee claiming it this week. There’s always next week!

Beyoncé just shared her very own "Classy, Bougie, Ratchet" playlist on TIDAL in celebration of her and Megan Thee Stallion's "Savage" remix. Although Bey's kept pretty quiet about the release of the "Savage" remix since it dropped last Wednesday (April 29th), the Queen came through with a collection of her favourite tunes that fit the theme of the multifaceted bad b*tch anthem. Naming the playlist, which was shared exclusively on TIDAL, after a lyric on the "Savage" chorus, Bey racked up 39 tracks total, curating a mix of hip-hop and R&B favourites past and present.

Naturally, Bey kicked things off with "Savage" remix, followed by a myriad of hits from tons of beloved female rappers like Lil’ Kim, Trina, Kash Doll, City Girls, Lil’ Keke, and Missy Elliott. However, she also made sure to rep her and Meg's Southern roots by including Texas natives like Travis Scott, Slim Thug, Bun B, Paul Wall, Maxo Kream, and, of course, her sister, Solange. Bey also plugs her bestie and former Destiny's Child member Kelly Rowland's new single, "Coffee," as well.

Additional artists who made the cut on the prestigious playlist include legends like Aretha Franklin, Janet Jackson, and Sade, as well as promising newcomers like Don Toliver, Omb Bloodbath, Cookiee Kawaii, and Tobe Nwigwe. Check out the full batch of "Classy, Bougie, Ratchet" selections below:

No matter how hard some of those pesky stans may try, there appears to be no hostility between Megan Thee Stallion & Beyoncé and Doja Cat & Nicki Minaj despite their respective remixes charting in close quarters. Ever since Megan's remix of "Savage" with Beyoncé dropped just two days before Doja's remix of "Say So" with Nicki last week, it's been a tight race between the two female-led tracks for the number one spot on the Billboard Hot 100. However, despite the friendly competition on the charts, Nicki made it clear how she feels about the historic moment by responding to one inquiring fan.

She has a certified hit on her hands so there’s only one way to celebrate for Megan Thee Stallion: a choreographed dance. The Texas rapper’s “Savage” became a viral sensation after a TikTok user created a dance that soon swept social media. Yet, after Megan partnered with fellow Houston native Beyoncé for “Savage (Remix),” everyone wanted a piece of that viral-dance-challenge pie.

There are a handful of challenges associated with “Savage (Remix),” including another one created by the originator of the first. Megan continues to quarantine at home with her besties, so it was only fitting that she hop on Instagram to show off some moves. She decided to groove to Beyoncé’s verse while her two friends did their bit as they stood on the kitchen’s island. 

“Lmao it took me half the damn day to learn this one ??? ima try it again later but I’m tired ? #savageremixchallenge ??,” Megan The Stallion wrote in the caption to her clip. She’s lamented about these dance challenges before, so it’s no surprise that she took a while to get this one down. Meanwhile, her “Savage (Remix)” collaboration was one that was especially memorable because…well, it’s Beyoncé…but also because she knew she was making her late mother proud by working on a song with one of her mom’s favorite artists. Currently challenging for the #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 next week, Megan Thee Stallion and Beyoncé have a total hit on their hands with the "Savage" remix. The track was already booming before it got picked up by Queen Bey, going viral on social media with a dance challenge. Now, it's looking set to become Megan's first-ever #1 record and she has Beyoncé to thank.

On the song, the legendary singer shows her own savage side, rapping about her ass with a couple of select bars. 

"I'm a boss, I'm a leader, I pull up in my two-seater/And my mama was a savage, n***a, got this shit from Tina," she spits on the remix. Earlier on, she bragged about her backside, making this line pretty clearly about the good genes that run in her family.

Apparently, Tina Knowles-Lawson didn't get the memo because she thinks it's about her philanthropy and "cool mom" status, according to her latest interview with CBS News.

Beyoncé's mother was on air to speak about what she and her daughter have been doing during the COVID-19 crisis, also reacting to the song's lyrics. When asked if she believes that the "Savage" line is about her philanthropy, she answered in the affirmative.

"As far as the 'Savage' is concerned, you know, it's funny because people started texting me and calling me a savage. I wasn't sure what it meant," she admitted. She continues by saying that she used to pick up Bey from school in a convertible and that people thought she was a "cool mom," which makes her draw a parallel to the "Savage" lyrics. Somehow, that makes sense. However, the majority of Bey's verse is about ass so... idk.

Please, nobody tell her what it's actually about...

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has affected more than just jobs and universities– it affects how we see our family and our friends, it affects birthday celebrations, weddings, funerals– just about any type of IRL gathering now has to be re-invented. Many people are finding unique ways to celebrate special days with their loved ones– whether it be by way of a Zoom conference call, or a drive-by party– people are still doing their best to get together and spend time virtually with the people they love.

Tina Knowles, aka Beyonce‘s mother, recently spoke with Entertainment Tonight about Bey’s big remix on Megan Thee Stallion’s “Savage,” which incidentally includes a shout out to mama Lawson. The mother of Queen Bey also revealed how the family managed to get all together, including Beyonce and Jay-Z’s twins, Sir and Rumi Carter.

“The two babies that are 2, they don’t really understand, so on Saturday we got together from a safe distance, we all went to Bey’s at a distance,” Tina revealed. “We all got tested, Kelly was there, and I got to see my grandchildren from afar and it was hard. That’s been the hardest part about this.”

As far as getting a shout out by her daughter on the “Savage” remix, Tina says, “That was really, really cute. People started texting me [saying,] ‘Ok, savage,’ and I was like, ‘What are they talking about?’”

She added, “It’s funny, when I was young, I used to drive a convertible and I used to drive up to Beyoncé’s school and she would say, ‘Mama, you are a hot mama.'”

It was only a matter of time until Megan Thee Stallion‘s single, “Savage” formed a life of its own on the Billboard Hot 100. Though Meg has a few hit records under her belt at this point, the release of last week’s “Savage” remix with Beyonce has taken her to new heights, literally. According to Billboard, the rapper’s single has now marked a new milestone in her career as the song has officially climbed into the top 10.  Following the remix with Beyonce, the song has now soared 10 spots from 14-4 marking Meg’s first single in the top 10.

Shortly after the news broke, Meg hit the ‘Gram to celebrate her later W in her extensive collection. “I really want to cry right now like oh my god !!!! This is my first top 10 bitch my first top 5 !!!! Likeeeeee hottiessss we really doing this shit ! We aint never give up we doing everything they said we wouldn’t!!!! I said jwhite give me a beat I can go off on and he did ? Thank you @beyonce ! I’m just happy to be here man ? THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU,” she wrote.

With the success of the song and the remix, the city of Houston has announced that they will be giving Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce their own days in the city. All proceeds from the “Savage” remix will be going towards coronavirus relief efforts.
