When DJ Envy of The Breakfast Club shared yesterday that Russell Simmons would be joining the show on Wednesday (June 10), there was a little pushback from the public. Not everyone was happy to hear about the interview, especially Sil Lai Abrams, a woman who accused Russell Simmons of raping her back in 1994. She took to her Twitter account to call out The Breakfast Club and its hosts, calling them "rape apologists" in her tweet.

During Simmons's video conference appearance, the Def Jam icon refuted claims that he behaved inappropriately. "I could never say that someone doesn't feel victimized," Russell Simmons said. "Thirty years ago... These stories are twenty-five to forty-years-old. I can't say someone doesn't feel victimized. I can tell you that I don't feel that I victimized them. And how can I say that? I took nine separate three-hour lie detector tests by two separate teachers. Polygraph. So I just want to share that. They're available to you. I just wanted to say that, and I don't know what else to say other than I feel terrible."
Then, Simmons said that during Oprah Winfrey's investigation, he read a report by one woman and said he "believed her." He stated, "She said she got in the car and the car door locked. My first instinct was sh*t, the car doors lock in 1990. Cadillacs. So, it was a misunderstanding as far as I can tell. But I believe her. But I also passed nine tests because I believe me." Russell Simmons added that while he does feel terrible for the women who were "victimized." he isn't the "monster" that people are painting him out to be. Check out Simmons's explanation below and let us know if you watched the controversial On the Record documentary.
View this post on InstagramRon Jeremy Investigated For Sexual Assault In Los Angeles: Report
Ron Jeremy has faced multiple allegations of sexual assault, and he’s reportedly being investigated by the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office.
He’s known as one of the most infamous porn stars in history, but Ron Jeremy has had his fair share of eyebrow-raising moments off-camera, as well. While he’s become a staple in pop culture, Ron Jeremy has been accused of sexual assault by a number of women—over a dozen, according to The Daily Beast. While the accusations from those women, who are both journalists and adult film stars, caused Jeremy to be banned from the Adult Video News Awards (AVN), The Daily Beast has recently reported that he’s currently under investigation over a new set of accusations.
Michael Kovac / Stringer / Getty ImagesThe outlet states that the District Attorney’s office is actively looking into multiple allegations of sexual misconduct involving Ron Jeremy. The porn legend’s manager refused to comment on the investigation, but the D.A.’s office gave a brief statement. “Sexual assault allegations against Ron Jeremy are under review by our office. No filing decision has been made,” said Greg Risling, the DA’s public information officer.
Janice Griffith, an adult film actress, told The Daily Beast that shes not surprised by the various accusations against Jeremy because of her alleged experience with him in the past. “Ron Jeremy groped me when I was a teenager. I did not give consent, he did not look sober, he didn’t care when I pulled his hand out of my crotch,” she said. It’s a story that reads like many others who have stated Ron Jeremy assaulted them, but while he has been forbidden from attending annual events, he hasn’t been charged with any crimes.
L.A. Reid Passed On Signing Kanye West & John Legend
EXCLUSIVE: “On The Record” explores accusations of sexual assault and misconduct allegedly perpetrated by not only Russell Simmons, by music executive L.A. Reid. According to accuser Drew Dixon, Reid decided to pass on Kanye West and John Legend, two of her artists, because she rejected his advances.
By now, you’ve heard of On The Record, the earthshattering documentary detailing allegations of sexual assault and sexual misconduct against Russell Simmons. As the months have progressed and more information about the controversial film has been revealed, Simmons has continued to categorically deny the allegations before him. While his name has been paraded in headlines in his attachment to One The Record, there hasn’t been as much recognition placed on another music industry great who stands accused of sexual misconduct as well: L.A. Reid.
Michael Loccisano / Staff / Getty ImagesOn The Record‘s main person of interest is Drew Dixon, a former music industry executive who worked with hip hop legends in her heyday. The film follows her career as she worked from the bottom to becoming the Director of A&R at Def Jam, but after she alleged Russell Simmons raped her, she soon left the label. In the film, Dixon says she took some time to find herself after feeling destroyed from the alleged attack, then she met Clive Davis and got a job over at Arista Records as the Senior Director of A&R.
She thrived there, even helping to build hits with Lauryn Hill and Whitney Houston, but during her tenure, Clive stepped down and L.A. Reid took his place. What followed, according to Dixon, were behaviors that she says mirrored much of the sexual harassment she endured at Def Jam. She claims that after she rejected Reid’s advances, notably refusing to meet up with him at the swanky Four Seasons hotel, he became cruel and unwilling to even consider artists that she knew were hitmakers. Two of those talents were allegedly Kanye West and John Legend.
“I auditioned Kanye West, and not only did he pass on Kanye, L.A. Reid dressed me down in front of the entire A&R department,” Drew Dixon recalled in the film. She went on to say that for 45 minutes Reid embarrassed her in front of her colleagues and called her Kanye pitch a “waste of [his] time.” In the end, Dixon asked Reid if she could go out into the hallway and give Ye the bad news.
Scott Gries / Staff / Getty Images“I remember, I brought Kanye into my office, he had tears in his eyes,” she said. “I said, let me tell you something. You’re gonna get a deal. You’re gonna win Grammys. You’re gonna look back on this. You’re gonna laugh. Promise you.” The last artist she attempted to get Reid to sign before ultimately quitting the industry altogether was John Legend. Like Kanye, Reid allegedly passed on the EGOT crooner because of what Dixon describes as his spite for her. They reportedly rented a private concert space for Legend to practice in hopes of delivering his best performance pitch to the high-powered music executive, but at the last minute, Dixon says Reid told her he “didn’t want to go, and he told the senior staff not to go. He passed on him.”
Both Simmons and Reid have denied any accusations of sexual misconduct. On The Record debuts on HBO Max on May 27.
Russell Simmons "On The Record" Sexual Assault Doc Receives First Trailer
Russell Simmons has denied he’s ever engaged in an sexual misconduct, and now the documentary about his accusers has shared its trailer.
After months of scandal, back and forth statements, and controversial interviews, the trailer for the documentary about Russell Simmons’ sexual assault accusations has arrived. The film recently premiered at the Sundance Film Festival months ago and was well-received, but the world can now get a glimpse into what to expect from the explosive HBO Max exposé.
Jerritt Clark / Stringer / Getty ImagesOprah Winfrey, who boasted a decadeslong friendship with Russell Simmons, was once an executive producer of the film before announcing that she was removing herself from the project. “In my opinion, there is more work to be done on the film to illuminate the full scope of what the victims endured and it has become clear that the filmmakers and I are not aligned in that creative vision,” Oprah said back in January.
Russell Simmons has continuously denied the allegations before him. He unequivocally claims that he’s never assaulted or forced himself on anyone sexually, but his accusers are unwavering. “Maybe you should name your documentary ‘FLAVOR OF LOVE’!?” the music icon wrote on Instagram. “In closing, I am guilty of exploiting, supporting, and making the soundtrack for a grossly unequal society, but i have never been violent or forced myself on anyone.” On the Record will premiere on HBO Max on May 27 but until then, watch the trailer below.
French Montana Accused Of Drugging & Sexually Assaulting Model In Lawsuit
French Montana and his employee are accused of drugging an unidentified woman while at his home. She alleges the employee also raped her.
The legal trouble for French Montana has heated up. During their rapid exchange of insults on social media, 50 Cent hurled scathing accusations toward the award-winning artist. However, none match up to what an unidentified woman claims she endured at the hands of “No Stylist” rapper. According to documents reportedly obtained by The Blast, a woman who wants to remain anonymous has filed a lawsuit against Montana, his employee Mansour Bennouna, and his Coke Boy Records label.
Noam Galai / Stringer / Getty ImagesIn the lawsuit, Jane Doe states that she and Montana first met at a recording studio in Los Angeles back in March 2018. Later, the rapper reportedly invited her to his private residence and she claims that’s when things took a turn. It was around 6:00 a.m. when Jane Doe says both French and Bennouna told her to take a shot. Soon after, the woman claims she blacked out, “was rendered incapacitated, and remembered ‘several men coming in and out of the bedroom.’ She claimed that she remembered French Montana as one of those men.”
It wasn’t until 1:30 p.m. that the woman “regained consciousness” to find Bennouna cuddling her in a “spooning” position. She later told authorities that she “felt a pain in her pelvis, lower back and vagina” and went to a hospital to have a rape kit administered after leaving the house “crying hysterically because she felt that she had been drugged and raped.”
“The investigation showed the presence of semen,” The Blast reports. “She also reported the alleged rape to police.” The woman, an aspiring model, says she had to halt her career because of the incident. She’s suing for unspecified damages.
Dame Dash Wants The Assault Case Against Him Thrown Out
Dame Dash wants his impending sexual assault case dismissed.
Media mogul, Dame Dash, is taking action hoping the court will dismiss the case against the photographer who sued him for sexual assault and wants $50 million in compensation. Earlier this week, Dame Dash and his legal team filed court documents stating that he intends to ask the federal court to dismiss Monique Bunn’s lawsuit due to lack of service. According to Dash’s lawyer, the Roc-a-Fella co-founder was never properly served the lawsuit and the sent her court complaint to unmonitored postal service box, which could possibly void the lawsuit altogether.

Monique Bunn originally sued Dame Dash, his wife Raquel Horn, and his production companies Dame Dash Studios, and Poppington LLC, after she claimed an intoxicated Dash had fondled her in her sleep. Bunn also claimed that Dash refused to return her personal computer, hard drive with photos from her 20-year career, and other personal effects that she left onsite at their studio.
Late last month, Bunn was urging the courts to push for a default judgment after he had failed to respond to the court case. Monique Bunn is represented by attorney Chris Brown, who Dame Dash has been very vocal about after being on the opposing side of three separate lawsuits against the lawyer.
Now, Dame is pushing back in his own way and might have a legitimate reason for the case to be dismissed. A hearing for this specific case has been set for the spring. Both sides will meet and the evidence presented will hopefully determine a just outcome.
Recently, Dame Dash opened up a lawsuit against his ex-wife, Rachel Roy, accusing her of hiding clothing company royalties from him. While the multifaceted entrepreneur might be in the midst of several legal disputes, he’s living a life of purity in the content realm. Check out a preview of some of the streaming content Dame Dash Studios is cooking up in the video provided below.
Mo’Nique Calls Out Oprah For Being Less Involved With Harvey Weinstein Accusers
The actress wrote Oprah a lengthy letter.
Oprah Winfrey has been taking some hard hits from her fellow entertainment industry professionals. She faced heavy backlash over her After Neverland special with Michael Jackson’s Leaving Neverland accusers. Then, most recently, her inclusion with the Russell Simmons documentary where a number of women who accused the Def Jam mogul of sexual assault and/or misconduct was called into question.
Rachel Luna / Stringer / Getty ImagesOf the latter, Oprah recently shared that she was removing herself from the film, not because of the pressure she says Simmons put on her, but because she didn’t agree with the creative direction of the documentary. The disagreement with the filmmakers reportedly caused her to split from the production, but whatever the reason, 50 Cent still applauded the OWN mogul for disbanding from the film.
Actress Mo’Nique Hicks has been at odds with Oprah for quite some time as she aired out Oprah, Tyler Perry, and Lee Daniels for allegedly coming against her. On Monday (February 3), Mo’Nique wrote a lengthy message directed to Oprah where she once again called out the media mogul’s actions, this time she targeted Oprah’s involvement in #MeToo while accusing the mogul of making her life “harder.”
Her message in full:
I felt compelled to write you this open letter after observing the disparity in the way that you seem to treat people, who were accused of the same allegations. You did an interview on the CBS Morning Show and were asked about Harvey Weinstein by Norah O’Donnell, and you said as it pertained to him that you “always try to look at the Rainbow in the clouds, whatever is the “silver lining”. You also said “if we make this all about Harvey Weinstein then we have lost the moment”. When you either are, or were going to be a part of documentary on Michael Jackson, and Russell Simmons, how is that not making it all about them? Interestingly, Brother M.J. was acquitted, and deceased, so how is he not off limits? Russell and Harvey are accused of the same thing so in fairness how do you not “support” the accusers of both as you said you did with R.S. or you look for the silver lining for both like you said you did for H.W.?
The only difference between the two is there skin color and doesn’t H.W. have way more accusers? My personal experience with you is you’ve watched me as a black women be accused of being difficult for not promoting “Precious” internationally for Lions Gate, at Lions Gate, Tyler Perry and your request, despite the fact my deal was with Lee Daniels Entertainment. And, how are you for black women when you hear Tyler on audio saying I was right and he was going to speak up but you or him still haven’t said a word? When I was sixteen and I meet you at your local show in Baltimore, I told you I wanted to be just like you when I grew up. You responded, “ you have to work really really hard”. My sixteen year old self didn’t know that you in your silence in the face of wrongdoing, would make my life “harder”. Lastly, please consider standing by the people who are right and not just the “right people”. Love you to life.
Soulja Boy Accused Of Viciously Beating & Tying Up Woman In Lawsuit
She claims she was left with fractured ribs and a facial contusion.
Young Draco seems to have been humbled after serving three months in jail last year. The often loud, flashy, and in-your-face rap star has been laying low since his release, and back in September 2019, his manager Miami Mike shared with TMZ that Soulja Boy was getting himself healthy and staying out of trouble. It was later announced that the rapper would be joining the Millennium Tour II, so it’s safe to say he’s been preparing for a show his fans won’t ever forget.
Mark Davis / Staff / Getty ImagesWhile things seem like Soulja Boy has been keeping his nose clean, a woman has stepped forward with a lawsuit. According to The Blast, an unidentified woman has made claims that the rapper viciously beat her over the head before she was sexually assaulted by someone else inside of his home. The Blast states that they’ve acquired the legal documents that detail the woman’s account of what allegedly happened at Soulja Boy’s Los Angeles residence.
The incident is said to have occurred in February 2019, a month before the rapper was arrested for violating his probation. The woman claims that she and Soulja Boy have known each other for the better part of four years, having an on-again-off-again romantic relationship. In February, the woman says she got into a physical fight with an unnamed woman who works for Soulja. The rapper came outside when he realized there was an altercation and “approached yelling profanities and kicked her, stomped her on the stomach and bashed her head with a large gun.”
The documents added that he “held the gun to her (the woman’s) head and told her she was going to die that night and would not make it home.” The alleged victim states she was “hurt so badly that she had trouble breathing.” If things were already bizarre enough, the woman claims that Soulja Boy ordered her to take a shower and watched her while she bathed. He allegedly “was not happy with how (the woman) looked after the shower and asked her to take a second shower because she still had mud and dirt on her from when (the rapper) beat her by his driveway.”
This story takes another turn as the alleged victim says Soulja Boy “instructed his assistant, to take her in the garage and tie her up with duct tape.” Then, the assistant apparently “wrapped an extension cord around (her) arms and took (her) into the garage.” People reportedly came and went through the house for hours and watched her sitting there.
A man at the scene reportedly told the alleged victim “that he would let her go if she performed oral sex on him” and she “felt she has no choice but to perform oral sex on him in order to escape the garage.” She states she was freed the following morning at 8:00 a.m. and went to file a police report before she was “taken to the hospital where she was told she had three fractured ribs and a facial contusion.”
She’s suing for an undisclosed amount, but is alleging assault and battery, false imprisonment, and sexual battery.
Kyla Pratt Blasts Evan Rachel Wood For Callous Kobe Bryant Tweets About Scandal
"How f*cking dare you?"
The untimely, shocking death of Kobe Bryant has caused millions to share their grief on various social media platforms. However, not everyone who has come forward to speak about the Los Angeles Laker's tragic death wants to honor Bryant's memory. Following the news of his death, Felicia Sonmez, a reporter for The Washington Post, shared an article detailing the 2003 rape case where a woman accused the basketball star of sexual assault. Bryant admitted to having sex with the woman but adamantly denied he assaulted her. The case never went to trial because the woman refused to testify against him.
Lisa Blumenfeld / Stringer / Getty ImagesSonnez was later suspended for her insensitive tweets about the late basketball star, but she isn't the only one who has brought up Bryant's scandal. American Gothic and True Blood actress Evan Rachel Wood also shared a tweet that ignited a backlash from thousands. "What has happened is tragic. I am heartbroken for Kobe’s family," the actress wrote. "He was a sports hero. He was also a rapist. And all of these truths can exist simultaneously."
She would later follow her initial message up with: "Beloveds, this was not a condemnation or a celebration. It was a reminder that everyone will have different feelings and there is room for us all to grieve together instead of fighting. Everyone has lost. Everyone will be triggered, so please show kindness and respect to all."
People were quick to point out that Wood has stood by Woody Allen, an acclaimed filmmaker who has been accused of sexually abusing his children, and actress Kyla Pratt even called her out. "Evan. We met as kids & I grew up in the same industry has you and have admired your work from afar these past few years," Pratt wrote. "On camera and off. But this tweet? How f*cking dare you?" Check out a few scathing responses below.
Antonio Brown Saga: Arrest Warrant Issued As He Continues To Ignore Police: Report
Things aren’t looking good.
The last few months have been a whirlwind for Antonio Brown. Things took a turn after he was released from the New England Patriots, then the NFL star was dropped by Nike, his agent, and his lawyer. He was the target of sexual assault accusations by his former female trainer and Brown has publicly been at odds with the mother of his children, culminating in strange statements about white women. On Wednesday (January 22), his ex released a statement on Instagram saying she and their three children have “distanced” themselves from Brown because of his “questionable choices.”
Dimitrios Kambouris / Staff / Getty ImagesOn Tuesday (January 21), news circulated that Brown was facing charges of burglary and battery over an incident that involved a moving truck driver. According to ESPN, the driver told police that he was assaulted by Brown and the football player’s trainer, Glen Holt. The driver reportedly claims that he was hired to move items from Brown’s California residence to his home in Hollywood, Florida. Brown didn’t want to pay the $4,000 fee so the driver tried to leave, prompting Brown to throw a rock at the truck. The police were called, an argument ensued, and Brown allegedly attacked the driver and grabbed his keys to drive off with the vehicle.
It’s now being reported that an arrest warrant has been issued against Brown. ESPN states they’ve spoken to the police involved in the case and authorities shared they’ve made multiple attempts to contact Brown. However, he continues to ignore their requests. Brown’s neighbors in the gated community where he lives are said to be “fed up with the antics coming from the home.”
Reports state that Holt was arrested and later released on a $20K bond.
