Earlier today, it was reported that Cactus Jack signee Sheck Wes, most known for his breakout single "Mo Bamba," was arrested in New York. Upon conducting a routine traffic stop, TMZ claimed that police discovered an undisclosed amount of marijuana as well as a loaded 9mm handgun. Though the charges were said to be felony level, Sheck's attorney later confirmed that the rapper had been released from custody, with his case being delayed to August.

And while Sheck himself hasn't exactly provided thorough commentary on the whole debacle, at least in an official capacity, he did take to social media to provide a status update of sorts. Sharing a picture of himself masked up in the streets of New York, Sheck seemed bamboozled by the narrative of his arrest. "The Scouts not locked up wtf," he writes, putting an end to any misconceptions that might have occurred.
While it's likely that this may develop further in August, provided the charges actually end up sticking, it would appear that Sheck isn't exactly fazed in the slightest. Out of sight out of mind, as they say. Check out Sheck's update below, and keep an eye out for more news on the man's upcoming music -- last we saw, Sheck was holding it down alongside Travis Scott, Don Tolliver, Luxury Tax and Chase B as the JACKBOYS.
Sheck Wes Arrested In New York
Sheck Wes was reportedly arrested for weed and guns after a traffic stop in New York.
Sheck Wes was arrested this week after a run-in with the cops for a routine traffic stop.
The Cactus Jack Records representative was driving his Lamborghini truck around Harlem when he was stopped for having excessive tint on his windows. Unfortunately, his woes got much larger than just a regular citation after officers found a reason to search the whip.
Once the officers approached the vehicle, they conducted a search as it reeked of marijuana. Apparently, they found a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol in a bag on the passenger side of the vehicle, as well as an undisclosed amount of marijuana. The rapper and his three passengers were all booked for felony possession of a loaded firearm and misdemeanor possession of marijuana.

The arrest took place early on Wednesday morning (May 21). The “Mo Bamba” rapper was reportedly also given a ticket for driving without a valid driver’s license. It is unclear if he spent any time in jail.
Sheck Wes was recently cast in one of Kanye West’s opera plays, also contributing to the JACKBOYS compilation project as a member of Travis Scott‘s record label. He is currently working on a new album, titled Hell 2 Paradise.
He has not commented on the arrest yet.
Sheck Wes Recalls When Klay Thompson Dissed Him As A Young Lad
Why did Klay Thompson have to do Sheck Wes like that?
Sheck Wes blew up in 2018 thanks to his smash hit "Mo Bamba." Later that year, Sheck Wes came through with his very first album called Mudboy and was even featured on Travis Scott's Astroworld. While he may not be the biggest artist in the game right now, he's pretty recognizable. Of course, this wasn't always the case. While growing up in New York, Sheck had to overcome his fair share of disrespect which at times, came from notable NBA players.
Yesterday, Sheck hopped on Twitter where he shared a peculiar story with his fans. As he explains, Sheck was in New York City for All-Star weekend one year and asked Golden State Warriors star, Klay Thompson, for an autograph. Thompson ended up pushing Sheck to the side which led to the artist's lifelong hatred for the Warriors champion.
The "Mindfucker" rapper went on to say that the experience made him want to take photos with every single fan who asks. Clearly, the hurt he felt at the hands of Klay Thompson has made him a better human.
Athletes snubbing eager fans is nothing new so we're not exactly surprised by Sheck Wes' admission. Regardless, it must have felt pretty horrible in the moment.
A$AP Rocky, Future, Wiz Khalifa, Meek Mill & More Sign On For Rolling Loud Portugal
DaBaby, Lil Baby, Roddy Ricch, Young Thug, and others are all confirmed as well.
The first-ever iteration of Rolling Loud in Portugal is about to be historic. In the reign of the five-year hip-hop festival, Matt Zingler and Tariq Cherif have brought Rolling Loud to Miami, Los Angeles, the Bay Area, Australia, and other world destinations over the years. It’s time to bring the brand to the beach now, potentially creating a version of Fyre Festival that’s actually worth attending.
While this isn’t being advertised as a luxury fest, Rolling Loud is worth the price of admission solely for the experience of seeing all your favorite rappers in one spot. If you haven’t been able to grab tickets to the Miami dates coming up — and even if you have… — you’ll want to check out details for the upcoming version of the festival in Portugal, for which the lineup has just been announced.
Tickets for the Portuguese version of Rolling Loud, which is happening at Praia De Rocha Beach, are officially on sale and the line-up is nuts. This is the first-ever iteration in the European country, bringing headliners Wiz Khalifa, Future, and A$AP Rocky to the main stage from July 8 to 10. Further down the card, DaBaby, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Young Thug, Playboi Carti, Meek Mill, Rae Sremmurd, Roddy Ricch, Tyga, Lil Tecca, Lil Baby, Lil Uzi Vert, NLE Choppa, and many more have also been announced.
Check out the full lineup above and let us know if you’re planning on buying a flight out to Portugal this summer.
