Patrick Jesernik, 54 and Cheryl Schriefer, 59, were both tested for the virus two days prior to their deaths but never saw the results. After they died, their tests came back negative.
A press release from the Will County Sheriff’s Office detailed the scene officers arrived at the house:
All of the doors and windows of the residence were locked from the inside. Police and fire personnel forced entry into the residence. Deputies located Patrick Jesernik, age 54, and Cheryl Schriefer, age 59, in separate rooms of the residence, both deceased. Both individuals had a pooling of blood formed around their heads. A loaded revolver, containing two spent shell casings and three live rounds were located near Patrick’s body. There were no signs of a struggle, and the home was neat and orderly
An autopsy confirmed that Schriefer’s death was a homicide and Jesernik’s was a suicide.
The Sheriff’s Office concluded the press release by mentioning that there has been a rise in domestic disputes during the COVID-19 pandemic: “During the current COVID-19 pandemic, the vast majority of service calls that Deputies have been responding to, involve domestic disputes and crisis intervention calls… you can reach out to Guardian Angel Community Service Groundwork 24 hour domestic violence hotline at 815-729-1228.”

Pop Smoke Death: More Details Surface
UPDATE: There were reportedly at least four masked men who broke into the Hollywood Hills home where Pop Smoke was staying.
As we mourn the loss of Pop Smoke (born Bashar Barakah Jackson), a rising star whose music has provided and will continue to provide joy to so many, we wonder how and why this tragedy occurred. When the news of the Brooklyn rapper’s death broke this morning (Feb. 19), not many details were provided. TMZ reported that he was murdered in a home invasion in the Hollywood Hills. The property is owned by Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Teddi Mellencamp, so it seems Pop Smoke was renting it.
The initial report stated that there were two masked men who critically injured Pop Smoke at around 4:30 AM on Wednesday. The invaders supposedly fired shots at Pop Smoke before fleeing the scene. He was brought to a local hospital where he succumbed to his wounds. The perpetrators have still not been identified or caught.

TMZ has now provided an update on the case. Rather than just two culprits, sources with access to the home’s surveillance footage deduced that there were at least four masked men who snuck onto the premises. They wore hoodies and made their way into the house just 10 minutes after people inside deadbolted the front doors shut. The fact that the house alarm wasn’t turned on apparently aided the invaders in making their attack.
According to law enforcement, a party took place at the house prior to the shooting. Pop Smoke unintentionally sharing his address on his Instagram Story on Tuesday (Feb. 18) is suspected to have facilitated his targeting. The hip hop community is grieving.
Kyle Kuzma Unintentionally Drains Hilariously Bizarre Shot: Watch
Even Kuzma was surprised that went in.
Kyle Kuzma has been having an inconsistent season with the Los Angeles Lakers and as a result, he has been the subject of numerous trade rumors and speculation. Despite this, Kuzma has done his best to avoid all of the noise and make his own way. The Lakers have been one of the best teams in the league this season and Kuzma's role has certainly helped them on their journey to first in the Western Conference.
Last night, the Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns by a score of 125-100. Kuzma only scored nine points in the game but two of the points were truly hilarious. In the clip below, Kuzma is going to the basket when all of a sudden he get fouled. At the last second, he chucks the ball into the air in what seemed to be an unintentional move. Sure enough, the ball went in and Kuzma got an extra shot at the free-throw line.
Kuzma seemed amused by the basket as all he could do was laugh. While it may not mean much, perhaps this accidental bucket will give him some more confidence moving forward. The young star is coming off of an ankle injury and he could use all of the reinforcement necessary to get his rhythm back.
Maryland Cop Charged After Fatally Shooting Handcuffed Man In Police Car
An officer shot a handcuffed man while he was sitting in the front seat of a cop car.
An officer in Maryland is facing a second-degree murder charge after allegedly shooting a man who was handcuffed and sitting in the front seat of a police car. The incident took place in a suburb of Washington D.C. on Monday. Police were responding to a 911 call about a driver who had hit multiple cars, said Christina Cotterman, a spokeswoman for Prince George’s County Police Department, per USA Today.
When officers approached the man, they believed he smelled like PCP, so they handcuffed him, put him in the front passenger seat of the cruiser, and buckled his seat belt as they called in a drug recognition expert.
Authorities said it was standard practice for officers to place a suspect in the front passenger seat of a police car. Then, when an officer entered the driver’s seat of the car, he fired his gun multiple times.
“Two independent witnesses tell our investigators that they see a struggle or hear a struggle of some sort coming from the cruiser, and they hear loud bangs,” Cotterman said. Officers attempted to save the handcuffed man’s life, but he died in the hospital.
Later, it was announced that Corporal Michael Owen, a police officer with Prince George’s County police, had been charged with manslaughter, second-degree murder, and associated weapons charges in the killing of William Green. He reportedly shot Green 7 times, but it’s unclear what the motive was.
“I have concluded that what happened last night is a crime,” Police Chief Hank Stawinski said. There was no “reasonable explanation” for the events, he added. The investigation is still on going.
Meechy Darko’s Father Fatally Shot By Miami Police Department
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Meechy Darko.
Yesterday, it was reported that the father of Meechy Darko (of Flatbush Zombies) was fatally shot by Miami police officers. The incident occurred this past weekend after Meechy’s father Ryan O. Simms allegedly attacked and stabbed an officer named Ricardo Castillo. XXL shared a press release from the Miami police department detailing their account.
Apparently, Castillo and several officers had received a call from Mango’s Cafe, after claims that Simms was threatening employees. Upon their arrival, Simms then proceeded to stab Castillo, prompting his fellow officers to open fire. Though Castillo was sent to the intensive care unit, his current condition is confirmed to be stable. Though Simms was also brought to the hospital, he did not survive. He did not have a local arrest record.

To Any and everyone out there dealing with Mental illness. Please get help.”
“This has been a Battle that My Family and I have been dealing with for over a decade, suffering in silence,” he continues. “I used to think there was strength in that…I love my father. So Much.
