Dave Chappelle recently released his brand new Netflix special called "8:46" and it is filled with some hilarious bits and some personal anecdotes. Perhaps one of the more somber moments in the special is when Chappelle begins talking about Kobe Bryant who passed away earlier this year. In fact, there were some staggering coincidences when it came to Chappelle's relationship to Kobe that it made him not want to go to the Grammy's.
For those who don't know, Chappelle won a Grammy for one of his comedy specials this year. Kobe died on the same day as the awards show and because Chappelle was so close with the Lakers star, he simply didn't feel right going. Not to mention, Bryant's jersey numbers are 8 and 24, and they were already hanging in the rafters at the Staples Center. Chappelle was born on August 24th so the numbers hit home for him.
“I loved Kobe Bryant. He died the day I won a Grammy. That was why I didn’t show up at the Grammy’s, because Kobe died,” Chappelle said. “They had both of his f***ing jersey numbers hanging up — 8 and 24 — well, that’s my birthday. I cried like a baby.”
Chappelle's story is both compelling and extremely sad considering the circumstances. It seems like everyone who knew Kobe had their own stories about him and Chappelle was no different.
Lil Wayne Has "Somethin Special" In The Works Coming Soon
Lil Wayne teased that “somethin special” is coming “real soon,” but what could it be?
Lil Wayne has something in the works for all of us to enjoy, and whatever this mysterious project is, it’s coming soon. Like the rest of the world, Weezy is kicking it at home these days, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t still working. The rapper kept it cozy on Instagram while making an important announcement, letting all of his followers know that they should keep an eye out for something coming from him “real soon.” Wayne, or “Socially Distant Tune,” as he would prefer to be called these days, posted some photos of himself lounging on the couch on Friday night, writing, “Got somethin special komin real soon!”
He made sure to to tell us all to “stay safe and healthy out there !!” before signing off with his new moniker, leaving everyone to react to this cryptic announcement in the comments. While some tossed around their hopeful guesses—new music??—most fans couldn’t help but focus on Weezy’s questionable choice of footwear.

In the photos, Wayne is rocking some UGG boots on his feet, and he definitely made sure we could see them. In fact, it almost looks like he could be modelling the sheepskin boots, especially in the second shot. Could his surprise be a campaign with UGG? Is Weezy about to be their new brand ambassador? While he didn’t specify a date, “real soon” certainly implies that we’ll all still be in quarantine by the time this surprise is revealed. Could it be the release of Collegrove 2, the sequel to his collaborative album with 2 Chainz? Or are he and Mannie Fresh going to officially release the Alicia Keys-sampled track that the producer teased on Instagram live this week? If Wayne’s a man of his word, we’ll be finding out real soon.

"The kid is super special," said James, "Like I said when we just played him in L.A., Memphis got a great one. They got a great one. So, the sky's the limit for the kid."
"That's big bro -- the King," Morant said. "I mean, I feel like everybody knows who he is. Just somebody that I look up to, a great [role] model. He's just one of a kind. I don't think there can be another LeBron."
Morant finished with 27 points, 14 assists and 6 rebounds in the dominating victory. He easily outplayed James who scored 19 points, 10 assists and 8 rebounds.
In the second half, Morant attempted a dunk on Lakers' big man Anthony Davis but was called for a charge; however, the sheer athleticism of the play was enough for it to make highlight reels.
"I think he would probably try anyone that was there," Davis said of the play. "He's done that a couple times this year. So I'm just trying to get a body in front of him and make him run me over."
Diddy & Faith Evans To Honor Biggie At Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Induction
This would be a huge celebration.
Just last week, it was revealed that Biggie would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. The Rock and Rolle Hall of Fame has been quite friendly to hip-hop acts over the last few years as a plethora of artists have been inducted. Tupac, NWA, Run DMC are some of the artists that come to mind. Biggie is a legend of the genre so it only makes sense that the Hall of Fame would honor him.
According to TMZ, the Hall of Fame has a pretty special celebration planned for Biggie’s induction. Diddy will be on tap to witness Biggie’s induction which will take place on May 2nd in Cleveland, Ohio. In the report, it states that Diddy might have something cool planned which will either come in the form of a performance or another sort of tribute.

Biggie’s wife Faith Evans also plans to attend the event and could also be a part of the festivities on stage. Diddy and Evans have been a part of numerous BIG tributes over the years so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them link up on stage for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
The induction ceremony will be broadcast live on HBO so if you’re interested in checking it out, it will be available to the masses.

“There’s interest all the way around, and yet we can’t seem to quite get that interest all aligned to push the button on it,” he explained. “Today, unfortunately, it’s still a maybe.”
Rumors of a reunion kicked off in November when The Hollywood Reporter originally reported that a special was in the works.
The ’90s hit sitcom has seen a vivid revival towards the end of the last decade with it having been one of the most popular shows on Netflix. Netflix even bid $80 million to retain it for a final year in 2019. The service was outbid this year, however, with the sitcom departing for HBO Max.
HBO Max is scheduled to launch in May. It will boast an impressive catalog alongside Friends that includes all of HBO’s current content in addition to a slew of other TV shows and movies. HBO Max has retained the rights to South Park, The Big Bang Theory, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and more. Fans can sign-up for the service ahead of time here.
