"I Deeply Apologize. My Words Were WRONG," Lee wrote on Twitter. "I Do Not And Will Not Tolerate Sexual Harassment, Assault Or Violence. Such Treatment Causes Real Damage That Can't Be Minimized. -Truly, Spike Lee."
While promoting his newest Netflix Film, Da 5 Bloods, with Michael Riedel and Len Berman on 710 WOR’s In The Morning, Lee spoke about the controversy surrounding Woody Allen: "I’d just like to say Woody Allen is a great, great filmmaker and this cancel thing is not just Woody," he said. "When we look back on it we are going to see that—short of killing someone—you can’t just erase someone like they never existed. Woody is a friend of mine...and I know he’s going through it right now."
Allen was accused of molesting his adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, when she was 7 years old. Allen's most recent film, A Rainy Day in New York, was dropped from distribution by the studio and many of the cast donated their earnings to charity.

Back in 2017, Woody’s adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow, wrote an op-ed for the Los Angeles Times detailing the alleged sexual abuse he committed against her when she was a child. “I have long maintained that when I was 7 years old, Woody Allen led me into an attic, away from the babysitters who had been instructed never to leave me alone with him,” she wrote. “He then sexually assaulted me. I told the truth to the authorities then, and I have been telling it, unaltered, for more than 20 years.”
During his appearance on “In The Morning,” Spike also spoke on the current protests against systemic racism that have been happening all over the world in recent weeks. “What is uplifting to me is that people are marching all over this God’s Earth for Black Lives Matter,” he said. “There’s definitely something in the air…people come together, people want police reform, people want justice and I think we are in a special moment in the USA.”
Spike Lee Rips James Dolan & The Knicks For Lack Of BLM Support
Spike Lee didn't have many good things to say about the Knicks today.
Throughout the last few decades, the New York Knicks have proven themselves to be a less than stellar organization. They are constantly losing and their owner, James Dolan, consistently messes up in the most public ways possible. In fact, Dolan has ruptured the relationship between the franchise and some of its most storied players. He's even damaged the team's relationship with superfan Spike Lee who recently appeared on First Take to talk about the team's latest blunder.
Amid the Black Lives Matter protests against police brutality, Dolan refused to release a statement. Eventually, public pressure intensified and Dolan caved. Despite this, the statement was pretty weak and it was clear that Dolan just simply didn't care all that much. As Lee explained on ESPN, Dolan has made it extremely difficult to support the Knicks, especially since he has been with the team since their championship years in the 70s.
Lee has had his fair share of run-ins with Dolan in the past. For instance, Lee was told he couldn't use a specific MSG entrance despite going that way his entire life. Dolan accused him of being a liar and it devolved into a real mess of a situation.
Needless to say, the Knicks are falling out of favor with their biggest fans, and they are doing so extremely quickly.

Lee was seen on Flatbush Avenue, in Brooklyn, riding a bicycle and wearing Knicks’ orange and blue. “Fort Greene, Baby! Fort Greene! Gotta represent,” Lee yelled while cycling with other protesters.
The Oscar-winning filmmaker spoke about the rise in Black Lives Matter protests throughout the country with E!, Saturday.
“My heart is in a good place, though. Something I’ve seen on television, I wanted to see with my own eyes, and what has given me strength is my fellow white brothers and sisters out there. Strong! And they have joined their black and brown sisters, locked arms, step-in-step…”
“And what’s really even giving me more hype, the number of young white brothers and sisters [protesting.] That’s given me hope! We had the Panther movement, the anti-war movement, the women’s movement,” he added. “We haven’t seen this since the ’60s. So that gives me hope.”
Lee also released a short film, 3 Brothers, inspired by the recent death of George Floyd. The film blends together footage from his Do the Right Thing with real footage from the deaths of Eric Garner and George Floyd.

Netflix Releases the trailer for Spike Lee’s “Da 5 Bloods.”
Netflix has debuted the trailer for the new film Da 5 Bloods. The movie follows four veterans, Clark Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., and Delroy Lindo, joined by his son, Jonathan Majors. They return to Vietnam in search of the remains of their squad leader (Chadwick Boseman) and in pursuit of buried treasure.
Directed by Spike Lee, the action-packed movie trailer shows scenes of the four veterans dancing while “Apocalypse Now” plays in the background, as well as flashbacks as young soldiers in a battle scene. Vintage footage flashes between what appears to be the Vietnam War, U.S. protests, and Nixon’s resignation speech, concluding with a fist raised to the sky.
The soldiers are encouraged by Boseman’s character to bury a trunk of gold bars and return to claim the treasure later.
“We’ve been dying for this country from the very get,” says Boseman’s character. “We give this gold to our people.”
Lee produced the film with Lloyd Levin, Beatriz Levin and Jon Kilik as well as executive producers Jonathan Filley, Barry Levine and Mike Bundlie. He also co-wrote the film with Danny Bilson, Paul DeMeo and Kevin Willmott.

Young Chop Trashes Jay-Z, Jeezy, Diddy, T.I., Spike Lee & More
Young Chop is back at it again as he takes aim at hip-hop’s “higher-ups.”
faking their credibilityYoung Chop has been wildin’ out all week. It all began at the beginning of the week when Gillie Da King hopped on Instagram Live with him and asked who he thought which rappers were faking their credibility in the streets. Lil Wayne, French Montana, Meek Mill, and 21 Savage were among the names he listed off and received a response from everyone except Weezy.
He returned to Instagram today where he continued his tirade and began aiming at some legendary figures in hip-hop. Describing Jeezy as a hoe, and sharing a photo of Jay-Z captioned, “F*ck his life,” Chop continued to take aim at Diddy and T.I. He did, however, sprinkle in some love for 50 Cent, Big Meech and Pimp C.
Whatever problem he has with Meek Mill still persists, though. “In this fraud as n***a making y’all believe he that nigga @meekmill get jay z Dick out of your mouth pussy,” he added along with a video roasting Meek for his looks over the years.
The most unexpected target throughout this whole thing was Spike Lee. “Bitch where is my money @officialspikelee before I beat yo old ass I need more then 3k goofy for a movie. do the right thing spike,” he said.
You might be wondering yourself, “why Young Chop is acting like this these days?” Though there isn’t a concrete answer, it seems like the album he has dropping on Friday might have something to do with it.
Spike Lee’s Insane Air Jordan 3 Oscars Sample Surfaces: Photos
Spike Lee is a huge fan of Jordans and for the 2019 Oscars, Tinker Hatfield hooked the director up with some fire.
Spike Lee has been known to be one of the biggest sneakerheads in the film industry as he is always showing off some of his kicks. In fact, Spike even has his very own line which sees numerous Jordan models get combined into one. One of his favorite silhouettes is the Air Jordan 3 and for the Oscars in 2019, the shoe’s designer, Tinker Hatfield, came through with a custom pair for Spike that was an immediate hit with sneakerheads around the globe.
Since last year, we haven’t seen much of the shoe but thanks to @zsneakerheadz, we now have some detailed images of the pair. As you can see from the post below, the shoe has a golden upper with elephant print hits on the back heel and toe box. The cuff of the shoe is red which adds some contrast. Meanwhile, the inside of the left tongue says “Tinker Hatfield” while the inside of the right tongue says “Spike Lee.”
You’re probably never going to see this shoe on a store shelf so don’t get any bright ideas. The pair you see in this post is an incredibly rare sample that will never see the light of day.
Regardless, let us know what you think of this shoe in the comments, below. Would you ever wear these?
Spike Lee Expands On Knicks Beef In Lengthy Instagram Post
Spike Lee’s beef with James Dolan and the Knicks has just begun and it’s not looking pretty.
Throughout the years, Spike Lee has proven himself to be one of the biggest New York Knicks fans ever. He has spent over $10 million in courtside season tickets and has been a fixture at the team’s games. Recently, Lee got into a bit of an altercation as he tried to enter Madison Square Garden through an employee entrance. Lee alleges he’s been allowed to use that entrance forever but in the particular instance that’s been reported this past week, the Knicks refused his attempts at entry.
Since the ordeal, Lee and the Knicks have been going back and forth. Owner James Dolan is adamant that he talked it out with Lee while the director is saying his relationship with the team has been damaged. This past weekend, Lee took to Instagram where he opened up about the incident and how he’s 100 percent in the right.
Per Lee:
“Good Morning Orange And Blue Skies. On Monday,March 2,In Da Year Of Our Lawd ,2020 This Ticket Was Scanned As I Went Through The Employee Entrance On West 33rd Street. I Had Used This Entrance For Over Da Last 30 Years,” Spike wrote. “The Previous Time Was Last Wednesday Afternoon When I Introduced The Hit Broadway Play TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD For A Free Performance To 18,000 New York City Public School Kids. On My Dear Mother’s Grave -Ms. Jacquelyn Shelton Lee, No One From The Garden Had Ever Told Me I Could Not Use The Employee Entrance Until Garden Security Told Me To Get Off The Elevator Once I Had Entered After This Ticket Was Scanned.”
Spike Lee’s fractured relationship with the Knicks is yet another reason why this franchise has been struggling. When you can’t even keep your biggest fan happy, you know you’ve done something wrong.
Stephen A. Smith Reveals How Spike Lee Tried Recruiting D-Wade To NY
Stephen A. Smith reveals a text message he received from someone close to Dwyane Wade regarding the Knicks vs Spike Lee feud.
ESPN's Stephen A. Smith, a life long New York Knicks fan, seems to have reached a new low point with the organization as a result of the recent Spike Lee fiasco. After allowing Spike to share his side of the story during an episode of First Take this week, Smith has continued to berate team owner James Dolan while standing up for the man who spends $300,000 annually to watch the disgraceful Knicks from his courtside seats.
On Thursday, Smith shed some more light on Spike's devotion to the Knicks, as he revealed a text message he received from someone close to Dwyane Wade regarding the recent feud.
Says Smith:
"I got a text from somebody I just wanted to share - it's from somebody associated with Dwyane Wade. In 2010, that dude Spike Lee was on the phone recruiting Dwyane Wade to come to the Knicks like he was employed by the team. Waiting for us in the lobbies of hotels whenever we came to New York, travelling to recruit on behalf of the New York Knicks. And they treat him like this? What a despicable thing to do."
The Knicks beef with Spike stems from a childish dispute about which entrance he is supposed to use when entering Madison Square Garden. Prior to Monday night's victory over the Houston Rockets, Lee was spotted arguing with MSG security guards and yelling, "You wanna arrest me like Charles Oakley?!"
Since then, Spike and the Knicks have offered conflicting reports about what really went down, with the organization labelling his claims as "laughable."
