Memphis Grizzlies rookie sensation Ja Morant doesn't have any beef with Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry, despite their recent interactions regarding disgruntled veteran, Andre Iguodala. According to Grizzlies reporter Michael Wallace, Morant explained that there's mutual respect between he and Curry, and that the two exchanged DMs during their back-and-forth on social media.
Curry got involved in the Grizzlies' dispute with Iguodala earlier this week after Dillon Brooks told reporters, “I cant wait til we find a way to trade him so we can play him and show him really what Memphis is about.” Morant co-signed those comments and Curry chimed in by posting a photo of Iggy holding the Finals MVP trophy, along with a well-placed "Shhh" emoji. Shortly thereafter, Ja shared a photo of Kevin Durant holding the Finals MVP, seemingly downplaying Iggy's value on those championship teams.
Iguodala, who was traded to Memphis during the off-season, has not played one second for the Grizz this season. In a recent interview with ESPN's Kevin Arnovitz, the 36-year old veteran claimed that he never said he didn't want to be in Memphis.
"It's never been, 'I don't want to be there,'" Iguodala said, according to ESPN. "It's, 'Let's have the conversations in terms of what it looks like going forward. How can I be a value to you? How can you be a value to me? And then how can we make that happen?'"
There are several teams reportedly interested in trading for Iggy ahead of Thursday's 3pm deadline, but we'll just have to wait and see if Memphis makes the move.
Patrick Mahomes Chugs Beer And Throws Dimes At Chiefs Parade
It's good to be a champion.
Patrick Mahomes miraculously led his Kansas City Chiefs to a come front behind victory against the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl 54 this past weekend. The final score was 31-20 despite the team being down 10-20 with just eight minutes left in the game. Today, the Chiefs are in the streets of Kansas City where they are celebrating their big win with a humongous parade. Fans from throughout Missouri are in town to check out the parade and so far it's been a tremendous party.
Perhaps the person having the most fun right now is Mahomes himself. The Super Bowl MVP was seen chugging beers on the team's parade float, while also throwing the football to fans in the crowd. In one of the clips, Mahomes throws a pretty nice dime that's caught perfectly by the fan below.
Mahomes and the Chiefs are well on their way to becoming a dynasty, especially if they're able to keep their core. Their quarterback is the best in the game right now and he is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Super Bowls aren't guaranteed but if you're a person who likes to bet, it would be smart to put some money on the Chiefs coming back for another parade sometime in the near future.
Kevin Durant’s Manager Rich Kleiman A Candidate To Be Next Knicks President: Report
Kleiman a potential candidate to take over as Knicks Pres.
The New York Knicks finally cut ties with team President Steve Mills on Tuesday afternoon, much to the delight of the disgruntled fan base. Now, the question becomes who will take over and lead the Knicks to the promised land?
For the time being, Knicks general manager Scott Perry will take over as President, but a permanent replacement will need to be hired in the near future. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, Knicks owner James Dolan is reportedly considering "hiring a top basketball executive out of the player agent ranks," similar to the way the Warriors brought in Bob Myers, and the Lakers with Rob Pelinka.
With that in mind one name that has surfaced as a potential candidate for Knicks President is Rich Kleiman, the de facto manager of Brooklyn Nets superstar, Kevin Durant.
According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Kleiman has long desired to run the Knicks, a team that he grew up watching in New York. Berman also claims that sources have told him Kleiman would hire former Knick and fellow New York native, Mark Jackson, to be the team's head coach.
It has also been reported that the Knicks' preferred replacement is Toronto Raptors' President Masai Ujiri. However, Ujiri is still under contract until 2021, and Adrian Wojnarowski believes the "process for a successor is likely moving faster than the time needed to wait on an Ujiri courtship."
Gayle King Receives Heavy Backlash Over Kobe Bryant Rape Question
Some felt like the question was inappropriate.
Kobe Bryant's death came as a huge shock to the NBA community and people are still mourning his tragic passing. While many are showing respect for Bryant, others are taking the opportunity to question his legacy over the rape allegations he faced during the early 2000s. Many have found the inquiries to be malicious and untimely especially when you consider how his family is still grieving. Perhaps the most egregious example of this came recently when Gayle King interviewed former WNBA star Lisa Leslie about Bryant. At one point, King began to hound Leslie about the allegations against Kobe and whether or not they "complicate" what he did for the game.
Leslie was quick to point out that it's a non-issue for her and that the Kobe she knows would never have done such a thing. "It's not complicated for me at all," she said. "Even if there's a few times that we've been at a club at the same time, Kobe's not the kind of guy, never been, like, 'Lis, go get that girl, or tell her, or send her this.' I have other NBA friends that are like that. Kobe, he was never like that."
Following the airing of the interview, King received a heavy dose of backlash as fans took to Twitter to criticize the CBS journalist. Kobe fans were amongst those outraged by the interview as they claimed King was trying to smear his legacy.
Check out some of the reactions to interview, below, and let us know what you thought about King's questions.

Gregg Popovich Roasts Reporter Following LeBron James Question: Watch
"Do you stay up all night to think of questions like that?"
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James had his way with the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday night at Staples Center. The four-time NBA MVP posted 36 points on 12-of-20 from the field, including 6-of-9 from behind the arc, to go along with nine assist and seven rebounds in the 129-102 victory.
Following the game, Spurs head coach Greg Popovich was asked what he instructs his team to do when LeBron starts to take over like he did during his 19-point fourth quarter last night. As is often the case, Pop was less than amused by the question as he quipped, "Make sure you get good pictures? We try prevent it. If we could prevent it, we would have. Jesus. Do you stay up all night to think of questions like that?"
The good news for Coach Pop, San Antonio doesn't have any remaining games against the Lakers - unless the two teams square off in the playoffs.
As a result of Tuesday's win, LeBron and the Lakers improved to a Western Conference-best 38-11 on the season, including 17-6 on their home floor. The 35-year old forward has shown no signs of slowing in his 17th NBA season, as he is currently averaging 25.2 points to go along with a career-best 10.7 assists and 7.7 rebounds per night.
Up next for the Lakers is a home game against James Harden, Russell Westbrook and the Houston Rockets on Thursday night. You can catch that game on TNT at 10:30pm ET.
Shaq Hilariously Jabs Aaron Gordon For Appearing To Be High On TV
Shaq never skips a beat.
Shaq is easily one of the funniest people in sports media right now and he is never shy to crack some jokes at someone else's expense. Last night, Shaq was on the NBA on TNT panel with Dwyane Wade and Candace Parker. At one point, the crew got to interview dunk contest competitor Aaron Gordon. Throughout the interview, Gordon appeared to be high out of his mind although no one can confirm if that was actually true or not. Either way, Shaq made sure to make fun of Gordon in the most subtle ways possible.
As you can see in the videos below, Shaq alludes to Gordon getting "high" on his dunks while the host next to Shaq asks Gordon to "smoke" the competition. At the end of the segment, Shaq tells Parker and D-Wade that he plans on cutting the weeds around his home. Parker and Wade were trying to hide their laughter although you could clearly spot them cracking up.
Gordon seemed to be oblivious in regards to the jokes being thrown his way which made the segment that much funnier. Had Charles Barkley been on the panel, we're sure there would have been even more jokes flying around the set. Either way, it was some pretty great television that reminded us of why we love Shaq so much.
Gervonta Davis Allegedly Hit Woman In The Face In Unreleased Footage
Davis denies any wrongdoing.
Yesterday, Gervonta Davis was arrested and charged with simple battery domestic violence after a video went viral of the boxer grabbing the mother of his children and acting rough with her. It was a pretty shocking video that led to an outcry on social media as various men and women condemned the fighter for his actions. Davis actually turned himself in to police despite going on denying any wrongdoing on social media.
"I never once hit her, yea I was aggressive and told her come on… that’s the mother of my child I would never hurt her other than that happy New Years.. January was trash," Davis wrote.
The latest update on this case comes from TMZ who is reporting that Davis is being accused of striking his ex-girlfriend in the face. Police say there is unreleased surveillance footage of Davis dragging his baby mama to a room and "pulling his arm back and then forward towards the victim, which is consistent with a strike to the face where the victim sustained injuries to her lip and left jaw."
Police say the woman has been cooperative in the investigation and even had pictures taken of her injuries. So far, Davis has yet to comment on these latest allegations. Stay tuned for updates on this story as we will be sure to bring them to you.
Dwight Howard Breaks Silence On Kobe Bryant’s Tragic Passing
Kobe meant a lot to the NBA community.
Kobe Bryant’s death came as a shock to not just the basketball community, but the world at large. Ever since January 26th, tributes have been pouring in, especially from the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers are currently the best team in the Western Conference with a record of 38-11. Last night, they blew out the San Antonio Spurs by a score of 129-102 while Dwight Howard had an impressive night.
Up until last night, Howard hadn’t spoken very much on Bryant’s tragic passing. In the immediate aftermath of the team’s win against the Spurs, Howard was asked about Kobe’s death and how he’s been feeling about it. As you can imagine, the last week has been tough on the Lakers big-man.

Per Ryan Ward Of Clutch Points:
“I was extremely hurt. It really hurt me bad. I didn’t know what to do or say, but I was extremely hurt. Still kind of lost for words. It doesn’t seem real that it happened. I never expected in a million years we’d be talking about Kobe passing away.
“It was very sad. There were nights where I just cried myself to sleep just thinking about it, and it still hurts to this day. It’s kind of hard to talk about it because I just get these overwhelming feelings from it, but he meant a lot to a lot of people, as you could see from the love around the world that everybody received and how hurt everybody was. I could tell that people were deeply saddened.”
In this last stretch of the season, the Lakers will be playing with Kobe’s legacy in mind and we’re sure players like Howard will be putting in extra effort to win the title in his honor.
