A couple of years ago, Todd Gurley was considered to be one of the best running backs in the entire league and he was starting to get paid like it. In 2018, he signed a $60 million deal with the team and that same season, he helped lead the Rams to the Super Bowl. During that same postseason, he suffered an injury to his knee which severely affected his production. This past season, Gurley was a shell of his former self and it was becoming clear that his injury woes were hurting the Rams.
Today, we reported that the Rams were exploring a trade for Gurley. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Rams were unable to find a deal and decided to release Gurley, thus making him a free agent. The Rams made this move today because it means they don't have to pay him the $10.5 million he was owed.
In total, Gurley only made $26 million from his $60 million deal which just goes to show how tough it is to be a running back these days. There is certainly a team that could use him right now but he is well outside of his prime right now.
The Rams recently put out a video in which they thanked the running back for his time with the team.
Saints Head Coach Sean Payton Tests Positive For Coronavirus
Sean Payton is the first high-ranking NFL personality to test positive for COVID-19.
Sean Payton is the latest sports personality to test positive for the Coronavirus, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Payton is the head coach of the New Orleans Saints and is the first member of the NFL to receive a positive test. It's certainly a frightening thing to hear especially with the virus spreading quickly throughout the NBA and other sports like hockey.
While speaking out on the subject, Payton said he is feeling fine right now although he was feeling some symptoms on Sunday which is what led him to get tested. Now, Payton is warning to people to abide by the rules set out by the government. He wants people to overcome this thing and it's going to take a valiant effort from everyone.
"This is not just about social distancing," Payton said to ESPN. "It's shutting down here for a week to two weeks. If people understand the curve, and understand the bump, we can easily work together as a country to reduce it. Take a minute to understand what the experts are saying. It's not complicated to do what they're asking of us. Just that type of small investment by every one of us will have a dramatic impact. I was fortunate to be in the minority, without the serious side effects that some have. I'm lucky. Younger people feel like they can handle this, but they can be a carrier to someone who can't handle it. So we all need to do our part. It's important for every one of us to do our part."
Payton's advice is very sound in times like these. Hopefully, others will listen to what he has to say.
CM Punk Names 4 Matches He’d Come Out Of Retirement For
Former WWE superstar CM Punk names a handful of wrestlers that could force him out of retirement.
Former WWE superstar CM Punk has gotten into twitter feuds with several current wrestlers since rejoining the world of professional wrestling as part of the "WWE Backstage" studio show on FS1. Naturally, wrestling fans hoped that one of the internet beefs would actually lead to Punk's in-ring return but, as of now, nothing has materialized.
During a recent interview on the Swings & Mrs. show, Punk revealed the four matches he'd actually consider coming out of retirement for “if the slate was clean, if the money was right.”

According to Punk, Daniel Bryan, John Cena and Rey Mysterio are on his short life of potential dream matches, as is New Japan Pro-Wrestling's Will Ospreay.
"As far as people that I’ve worked with before, if there was a clean slate, if the money was right, I think a guy like Daniel Bryan, I would go, ‘I would listen to your idea.’ If you said John Cena, I’d probably listen to your idea. Rey Mysterio, I would listen to your idea. For people I haven’t ever wrestled before, I think Will Ospreay, I would listen to your idea. There’s a lot of moving parts. I’m busy doing other stuff and nobody has found the right combination of ways to approach me. It’s not all up to me, ladies and gentlemen, it’s up to the people who actually run the company."
During his time with the WWE, Punk was a two-time WWE champion which included an impressive reign of 434 days. His last in-ring appearance came as a participant in the 30-man Royal Rumble in 2014.
Antonio Brown’s Rumored Buccaneers Fate Revealed
Tom Brady was one of the players advocating in favor of Antonio Brown this past season.
Antonio Brown was the gift that kept on giving this past NFL season and he only played in one game. That game was with the New England Patriots where he even caught a touchdown from none other than Tom Brady. Brady has been a huge advocate for Brown over the past few months and with Brady going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, there were reports that Brady wanted to bring AB with him.
While this would have been wishful thinking for Bucs fans, it is becoming apparent that this won't be happening. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Buccaneers and head coach Bruce Arians are not interested in the troubled wide receiver. The Buccaneers already have an elite receiving core and there is no point adding Brown even if he were to come at a discounted price.
This will certainly come as bad news for all of the AB fans out there but it makes sense, all things considered. There are still plenty of teams in the NFL that could use his services right now so there is no point harping on the Buccaneers. Besides, Brown still needs to await approval from the NFL before he can even be reinstated.
Let us know in the comments below where you would like to see AB play next.
Ice Cube’s Big3 To Host Reality Show-Style Quarantine Tournament
Ice Cube has some interesting ideas for his Big3 league amid the Coronavirus pandemic.
Ice Cube understands more than anyone that sports fans need something right now. Every single sports league in the world is shut down and there is a huge gap in the market. In order to tide people over, it appears as though Ice Cube and Big3 entertainment executive Jeff Kwatinetz are looking to create a special tournament in April.
Both men are working with TV networks right now and it’s being reported that 16-22 players could be a part of a 3-on-3 tournament that would take place in Los Angeles. This tournament would feature players who have tested negative for the Coronavirus. To make things more interesting, the players would be placed in a quarantine house and their stay would be turned into a reality TV show. Any player who breaks quarantine would be subject to imminent dismissal from the tournament.

“As long as we can protect the players, which we will do through proper testing and quarantine, Ice cube and I feel we can give fans some safe, entertaining brand of basketball to get everyone through this pandemic,” Kwatinetz said Yahoo Sports. “Cube and I have been in the entertainment business for 30 years. This is our job. People want to be entertained with all we’re going through and enjoy our sports. We think this will help.”
It remains to be seen whether or not this will actually happen although if it does, it will certainly be some much-needed entertainment.
Stephen A. Smith Brings Back Baby Memes In Time Of Need
Stephen A. Smith is bringing laughs to the timeline with his infamous baby meme.
Twitter is one of the few places you can go these days to laugh. We are in the midst of a deadly pandemic but you can still count on people to make memes poking fun at the situation we are all in. In times like these, laughter truly is the best medicine, as cliche as that may seem. One of the people that has continued to bring us joy throughout this situation is none other than Stephen A. Smith of ESPN. His rants on First Take are always first-class entertainment and when you're bored and quarantined, he's a great person to watch.
In order to keep fans sane, Smith decided to share a compilation of arguments he has had on First Take. The catch? The baby filter has been placed on everyone's face. Of course, these baby face memes were running rampant a few months ago when the world was a much simpler place.
While it may only work for a split second, you have to commend Stephen A. for trying to get people to laugh. It's easy to take the little things for granted and this latest situation has given us a serious dose of reality. Hopefully, Smith can continue to provide some laughter in the coming weeks, as the quarantine drags on.
Michael Irvin Gets Roasted For His Lazy Coronavirus Joke
Michael Irvin: "Sorry I don’t want to hear how a Corona gets it’s lime while the Coronavirus is getting lives."
NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin seems to be slipping into madness after just one week of being quarantined without live sports.
Irvin posted a video of a recent Corona commercial on Thursday morning along with this bizarre commentary: "Since I am not a beer drinker. Maybe it’s just me. But I believe that @corona beer SHOULD NOT be running their commercials at this time. Sorry I don’t want to hear how a Corona gets it’s lime while the Coronavirus is getting lives."

When a fan asked if he was okay, Irvin replied: "NO I am not ok and you are not ok either. NONE of us are OK. We are all stuck in our homes without any freaking live sports, what so ever, as the economy grinds to a damn near stop!!!!"
The Cowboys legend received enough replies from people who genuinely thought he believed that Corona beer and the coronavirus were related that he was forced to clarify that he was, indeed, just joking. This is the second time this week that The Playmaker has stuck his foot in his mouth - the first being when he over-exaggerated DeAndre Hopkins' remarks about Texans coach Bill O'Brien.

Nets Respond To Criticism Over Quick Coronavirus Testing
The Brooklyn Nets received quick Coronavirus testing despite limited resources for regular folks.
If you're a basketball fan, the last week has been incredibly hard. In reality, it feels like we just lived out an entire decade in the span of a week. It's not fun for anyone involved but at the end of the day, we are all in this together and are doing our best to make sure this virus gets stopped in its tracks. The Brooklyn Nets have gotten the worst of the Coronavirus when compared to other NBA teams. Four players, including Kevin Durant, all tested positive for COVID-19 this past week.
As soon as players started to get symptoms, the entire team was tested. While this is great for precautionary reasons, some felt as though it was yet another example of how athletes and rich people get preferential treatment when it comes to limited tests. Today, the Nets issued a statement in which they explained why it was so imported for them to be tested so quickly.
"If we had waited for players to exhibit symptoms, they might have continued to pose a risk to their family, friends and the public," the statement read.
In light of the Nets diagnosis, the Los Angeles Lakers recently got tested as well and now, the players are being asked to quarantine themselves. Needless to say, we are living in some harsh times and we are all hoping to get through this as quickly as possible.
Lakers Receive Swift Coronavirus Testing Following Nets Game
The Los Angeles Lakers played the Brooklyn Nets prior to four players on the Nets testing positive for Coronavirus.
Kevin Durant and three other players on the Brooklyn Nets tested positive for the Coronavirus this past week. It is believed they picked up the virus prior to the NBA shutdown which took place on Wednesday, March 11th. Now, numerous NBA teams are being tested, including the Los Angeles Lakers who played the Nets just a day earlier. In fact, players like LeBron James have been told to stay completely isolated so that they don't spread the virus onto anyone else.
According to reporter Brad Turner, the Lakers underwent some vigorous testing on Wednesday as the vast majority of players were called to the team's facility. This is when q-tips were forced up their noses in order to check for the virus.
The Lakers will only be getting their results on Friday which means players will have to sit and wait this one out. If anyone on the team has it, other teams the Lakers have played in the past two weeks will also need to be tested as a precaution. For now, most players with the virus are asymptomatic which is certainly good news moving forward.
For the general population, this story may be met with great frustration as it shows the disparity between testing. Many athletes are getting quick access to tests while normal folks need to be exhibiting numerous symptoms before getting anywhere close to a test.
LeBron James & Michael Jordan Early 2000s Scrimmage Photo Surfaces
LeBron James and Michael Jordan played each other a very long time ago.
Coronavirus has NBA fans so starved for content that they are digging into the archives for classic photos and footage of games that no one even knows about. Two of the most legendary players in NBA history are none other than LeBron James and Michael Jordan. These two never played each other on an NBA court as Jordan retired the year before LeBron came into the league. However, the two still shared the court together in a scrimmage that went own when LeBron was just a teenager.
Someone on Twitter was able to dig up a photo of the scrimmage and you can see a young LeBron next to Jordan. The Twitter user made a call out for footage from the event although unfortunately, there is none at the moment. Regardless, it's cool to theorize about how this scrimmage would have gone down.
Granted, Jordan was well past his prime at that point while LeBron hadn't even blossomed into a man yet. Either way, these two are NBA legends and to see them on the court together is pretty special. As this quarantine goes on, hopefully, we will get even more pieces of NBA history, in the not so distant future.
Let us know in the comments who you think won the scrimmage.
