Rihanna and Kevin Durant took some lighthearted digs at each other about coronavirus in the comments of yet another one of DJ Spade’s Instagram live streams, and it looks like Drake was a little jealous of their back-and-forth. Ever since the coronavirus pandemic reached new heights, forcing everyone to stay home with nothing to do, Instagram live has become the place to be. Stars have taken to interacting with fellow celebrities in the comments of their peers’ IG live streams, at times dragging each other with love for the sake of relieving boredom. Since famous folks can’t link up with their famous friends IRL anymore, what better place to catch up than in the comments of an IG live sesh?

That’s exactly the attitude that Bad Gal Riri possessed when she tuned into another one of DJ Spade’s IG lives, following his widely discussed spin battle with OVO Sound’s DJ Night Owl Sound earlier this week. Rih noticed that a certain NBA star—Mr. Kevin Durant—was among the many viewers in her company, so she decided to roast him about his currently contagious state following his coronavirus diagnosis. “Is KD allowed in here?” Rih asked the “crowd.” “Should I wear a mask to live?” Later, she followed her joke up with a sincere message about KD’s health. “But foreal get well soon KD,” she wrote. Before he could respond, she continued clowning him by commenting, “Back with my mask! @easymoneysniper wya?” KD eventually acknowledged her playful disses with a diss of his own, bringing up Rihanna’s recent at-risk travels. “Yo Robyn didn’t u just come from Europe?”

The two of them continued to go back and forth with the clap backs, keeping it all in good fun. Catching wind that his buddy, KD, and the lowkey love of his life—I mean, friendly ex were engaging in witty banter, Drake decided to join in on the conversation. The rapper recently went into self-isolation after hanging out with KD only a few days before the Brooklyn Nets star tested positive for coronavirus. Drake later found out he had tested negative, but apparently he still thinks Rih and KD should stop making light of the virus. “We have to dead the treyfive corona jokes,” Drizzy wrote, in hopes that either of them would respond. However, as far as we can tell, neither Rih nor KD saw the comment, or, even, worse, they simply ignored it.

While she may not have engaged with him this time around, Riri and Drake had their own friendly interaction in DJ Spade’s aforementioned spin battle live session. The exchange involved Drake trolling Rihanna about releasing new music (which, technically, did happen this week), and Rih subsequently roasting Drake for acting “thirsty.” Here’s hoping DJ Spade keeps up the live sessions, so we can see more of Drake and Riri’s antics.

Chicago-rapper Valee may be dropping new music at midnight, according to a new post on his Instagram.

"Who want a project at midnight n shit ? wit dis on it n shit ?," he wrote with a video of him previewing new music.

Fans in the comment section are excited. "Please I’ve been waiting flow unique af," one says. "I need something to bump so yea," adds another.

The new project may include his most recent single, "Not Playing," which dropped in January 2020. The Plu2o Nash produced track is a perfect example of what makes Valee unique, with strange flows, subtle bars, and otherworldly beats. 

Andrew Barber, who manages Valee, wrote on Twitter, Saturday, "I promise @valee’s album is coming. Right now we’re just fighting over what records we’re gonna use." He also added that the discussion was internal for now, and not a disagreement with his label. He also confirmed it would release through Def Jam.

Every now and then you’ll be going about your day, minding your business, when the thought strikes you: “Where in the world is Isaiah Rashad?” It’s a rhetorical question, really, because Isaiah Rashad lays low. While social media allows fans to keep tabs on their favorite artists, Rashad operates off the grid. Honestly, this arrangement is probably better for both him and the fans. Whenever new music from him arrives, the anticipation will be at a peak after having fully digested 2016’s The Sun’s Tirade. 

Aside from a few stray tweets, the TDE rapper isn’t very active on social media. Therefore, not much is known about his forthcoming sophomore project, The House Is Burning. He announced this title on IG Live last year, but there’s a chance Rashad has changed his mind in the interim. Every now and then, he will tease unreleased music. On Monday night (Mar. 9), he went on Live from the studio and previewed a track that had his whole crew bopping. “Told her, bitch, eat it like Doja Cat” is one bar that jumps out from the mellow joint. Some songs off The House Is Burning were also played at Reason’s listening party about a week ago. 

While TDE keeps their roster’s release rotation a secret, it would make sense if Rashad was next at bat. However, he isn’t inspiring much confidence in this likelihood. When a fan asked him on Twitter to at least drop a single, he replied, “picking it soon or something… emphasis on the something.”

Nelly appears to be bringing his iconic Apple Bottoms brand back for the modern times, after hinting at a comeback on his Instagram account. The Southern hip hop heavyweight posted an image of the brand’s signature logo on Saturday. “It’s bout that time…!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” he wrote in the caption. “Don’t call it a come back..!!!!!”

Nelly originally launched Apple Bottoms back in 2003 as a denim brand, but it went on to expand to clothing, accessories, and perfume. Nelly even conducted a search for a model to represent the label as part of the launch, in an episode of VH1’s Inside Out titled “Nelly: The Search for Miss Applebottom.”

Apple Bottoms has been famously referenced in countless songs, including Twista’s “Overnight Celebrity,” Flo Rida and T-Pain’s “Low,” Eminem’s “Shake That,” and, of course, T-Pain’s “Applebottom Jeans.” The brand’s last ad campaign was in 2010, so it will be interesting to see how Nelly plans ton revamp the Apple Bottoms look in order to fit into the style of the 2020s. Tory Lanez has been moving at a breakneck pace. Mere months removed from the release of his throwback tape Chixtape 5, Tory Lanez has already begun teasing the arrival of his next project. Once again, the Canadian rapper appears to be revisiting an ongoing series, this time the more-rap focused The New Toronto. Taking to Instagram, Lanez emphatically kicked off the hype train, captioning a Twitter post with the simple yet effective: “THE NEW TORONTO 3 ?!?!????!?????????”

It’s entirely possible we’ve already seen a few glimpses at the upcoming drop, which may or may not be inspired by the resurgence of drill music. Especially given the vibes of his latest singles “Broke In A Minute” and “K Lo K,” which features Fivio Foreign with the assist. I’s never easy to tell with Tory, who seems to fling himself headfirst into artistic whims if and when they strike. For all we know, he’s simultaneously juggling another New Toronto, a new solo album, and a sixth chapter of The Chixtape series.

Still, a gambler might look to New Toronto 3 being next up on Tory’s itinerary, in light of recent revelations. Are you excited to see whatever he’s whipping up, or is his unrelenting pace leaving cause for concern?

With Power officially coming to an end this weekend, a conversation needs to be had about the impact the gangster-drama had on the culture over the past half-decade. The death of Ghost St. Patrick’s daughter, Raina, the murder of LaLa Anthony’s character, LaKeisha, and the antics surrounding who killed Ghost has provided the masses with genuinely compelling and sometimes hilarious television content that will be talked about for years to come. However, as the production comes to its conclusion, the show’s actors are left with the reality that they are officially unemployed and have to pursue their next venture. Naturi Naughton, who plays Tasha St. Patrick’s character on Power appears to have her next opportunity lined up heading back into the music realm as she recently posted a photo of herself and Omarion on Instagram hinting at a possible upcoming music collaboration. 

During her stint in the R&B girl group, 3LW, Naughton contributed to multi-platinum hits like “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right),” and “Playas Gon’ Play,” while also collaborating with artists such as Beyonce, Usher, Luther Vandross, and more. Naughton obviously has the talent, vocal range, and aesthetic to become one of the newest power players in today’s R&B scene and a collaboration with the extremely unbothered Omarion can possibly propel the singer turned actress up the Billboard charts.

Fresh off the release of his new single, “Yummy,” Justin Bieber looks to be already queuing up his next release. On Saturday, the pop star took to his Instagram to tease an upcoming record with Quavo & Murda Beatz or so it appears. While there’s no information on the record yet, like whats it called or when it’ll be dropping, we presume it’ll see life on his forthcoming album, which we know is on the way.

As for the snippet, we can hear Bieber rapping on the Murda Beatz-production, referencing fake friends and materialistic things, while name dropping Jesus in the process. “Aint it funny how the money, and the cars, and the clothes were nothing until I met Jesus/ And aint it funny how they you look up in the sky and see the stars & the moon and still don’t believe them” Bieber raps before Quavo handles the chorus. Justin Bieber has been in the news these past 24 hours after his questionable attempt at getting the #1 record in the country. In a battle with Roddy Ricch’s “The Box,” Bieber has asked his fans to illegally stream the song at night while they sleep and during all day in attempt to get the #1 record, but it’s looking like Roddy Ricch may still come out ahead. We’ll know more on that in the coming days, but it’s not looking good for Biebs at the moment. 

Megan Thee Stallion continued her vacation antics on Thursday night, when she shared a video of her and her girls dancing to an unreleased track. Meg’s been kicking back since the new year started, enjoying some downtime and relaxing with her friends (and her dog, 4oe!) on her well-deserved break from her music career. However, Meg hasn’t totally pushed her music out of her mind, and she’s making sure we don’t forget about her, either. She’s been promoting her single with Normani, “Diamonds,” which officially dropped everywhere on Friday. Along with this Birds of Prey collab, Thee Hot Girl also gave us a little sneak peak at what else she’s been working on.

The clip begins with Meg asking, Why you wanna to play with me, you know I’m undefeated?” Meg included the lyrics that followed, “A real Hot Girl know how to keep a n*gga heated ??????,” in the caption of the video, which shows a booty-shaking Meg surrounded by her booty-shaking friends. She also wrote, “me and my friends be jamming all my music before it drop ??‍♀️,” getting us all hyped to hear the full version of what so far sounds like a fire song. The Stallion squad have no idea how lucky they are for getting these previews of Meg’s upcoming music.
