If you're an NBA fan, the last three months have been incredibly stressful. The league has yet to return to action although they plan on doing so as of July 30th. While there seem to be some players who are against the return, there are still plenty of stars who want to get back out on the court and compete for a championship. In order to do so, the players will need to be vigorously tested in order to prevent widespread cases of the Coronavirus.
For the last few weeks, teams have been told to hold off on testing but now, it seems like they have been given the green light to test as often as possible. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the league has told teams that they can test asymptomatic staff members and players which is huge news since many teams will be traveling to Florida later this month.
While this is a step in the right direction, the league has a completely different fight on their hands now. Many players don't want to return to action amid the protests against racial injustice. If the NBA wants those players to change their minds, they will have to come up with a solution that works for all sides, which is much easier said than done.
Either way, these next few weeks will be crucial for the league and its 30 teams.
Cardi B Reacts To Claim She’s Using Celebrity Power For COVID-19 Testing
Cardi B was rushed to the hospital last week for stomach pains but she took to Twitter to deny that she's using medical resources to test for Coronavirus.
Coronavirus has put the world at a halt but the pandemic has caused even more stress on the medical system. As citizens practice social distancing to slow down the spread of COVID-19, doctors and nurses are doing whatever they can to increase the speed of testing. However, people are still suffering from other types of medical issues. Cardi B, for instance, was recently rushed to the hospitals after suffering stomach pains.
Apparently, some fans thought that Cardi was using her celebrity status to get access to COVID-19 testing. A user on Twitter pointed out the flaws in testing after her aunt's friend was denied service at the hospital due to the overwhelming amount of patients. "She's been stuck at home with the rest of her family without getting help. So I go on social media and see Cardi B at the hospital because she 'thinks' she has the virus and getting the help she needs," the person wrote. After suggesting that Cardi a) hasn't donated anything for frontline workers of the pandemic and b) is using up resources that could be used towards people who've actually contracted the virus, the "Press" rapper drew the line.
"Ummmmmm I was literally throwing up everything I swallow and lost 5 pounds in 4days do to stomach issues.NOT CAUSE OF THE RONA. You can still go to the hospital for other problems you know," she wrote in a since-deleted tweet.
Interesting that this fan decided to call Cardi B, out of all people, out on this. Cardi has actually been quite vocal about celebrities getting easier access to COVID-19 in the past which prompted a response from Idris Elba. Check out the tweet below.
Cardi B Strikes Back: "I Said What I Said"
Following a lowkey callout from Idris Elba, Cardi B takes to IG to defend her position on mixed messages in the coronavirus era.
It all started when Cardi B offered up a heated take on the coronavirus pandemic, theorizing that celebrities have been muddying the waters vis-a-vis proper testing protocol. Especially those who got tested despite feeling relatively healthy, only to discover they've been carriers on the low. After spitballing that some stars might even be paid to make coronavirus announcements, Idris Elba sounded off in defiant retaliation. Despite neglecting to name names, it was clear who his ire was directed to.
Today, Cardi took to IG to offer a rebuttal. "Sometimes I get on my Live and I be talking my crazy shit entertaining my fans, and people take what I say and run with it," she declares, before clarifying her position. Essentially, she feels as if the public are receiving mixed messages from President Trump and the celebrities who have tested positive for COVID-19, which thus creates further confusion about the proper course of action. "If a celebrity is saying 'I don't have no symptoms I'm feeling good, healthy, but I went and got tested and I'm positive for the coronavirus. That causes confusion!"

"People be like, 'I don't know, I don't have no symptoms but I went out this and that day, shit I might have it,'" she continues. "I'm scared because I'm around my kid, I'm around my grandparent. What do I do?" She explains that people who work regular jobs, the middle class, and the poor are simply not getting treated like the ones up here, celebrities. "They're not getting their coronavirus results the next day, that's one."
She then pivots to some of the inherent flaws within the testing symptom, explaining that not everyone has the luxury of self-quarantining in complete isolation -- especially if they test positive. "A lot of people live in small-ass apartments with multiple people," she continues, detailing how easy it would spread to spouses and children in certain scenarios. "On top of that, a lot of celebrities have the luxury to pay thirty-four thousand dollars or whatever the fuck it cost to get tested and treated. A lot of these people don't have that money! Some people don't even have enough money to fucking afford health care!"
"I feel like all this shit, for coronavirus treatments and testing, all that shit, the government should take that and charge that shit to the game," she concludes. "This could have been prevented months ago when they found out the shit it was doing in China. They shouldn't be charging Medicaid, health insurance, none of that shit. This is ya'll fault it got in the muthafucking country." Ever defiant, Cardi sums up her breakdown with a succinct yet evocative caption: I said what I said.

Idris Elba thinks it’s ridiculous that some people believe he was paid to announce he has coronavirus.
One of the first celebrities to contract the novel coronavirus was Idris Elba, who was possibly in contact with Sophie Trudeau, Justin Trudeau’s wife, in the week prior to his diagnosis. The actor was open about his positive test, noting that he was asymptomatic and that he is expected to make a full recovery. Because of their quarantine situation, his wife Sabrina also tested positive.
There has been a conspiracy theory floating around that celebrities — including Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, and others — are being paid to say they have coronavirus. Cardi B is among the people who vocalized this theory. Idris Elba wants everyone to know that, not only is that wildly untrue, it’s also irresponsible to be spreading that false narrative.
Jeff Spicer/Getty Images“This idea that someone like myself is gonna be paid to say ‘I’ve got coronavirus,’ that’s like absolute bullshit,” said the actor in a recent Instagram Live session. “Such stupidness and people wanna spread that as if it’s like news. That’s stupid… That’s the quickest way to get people sick.”
In the same video, he spoke about “test-shaming,” crossing his fingers that a global test would become available for people of all backgrounds… not just the rich.
Listen to what he had to say in the video below. Get well soon, Idris and Sabrina!

39-Year-Old New Orleans Woman Dies While Awaiting COVID-19 Test Results
Natasha Ott, 39, was found dead in her home while awaiting results from her Coronavirus test.
While awaiting results from a Coronavirus test, Natasha Ott, 39, was found dead on the floor of her kitchen by her partner Josh Anderson, who grew nervous after her texts became unresponsive.

According to NOLA.com, as noted Complex, Anderson says Ott began feeling ill on March 10th, and as a social worker for the HIV health center CrescentCare, she had access to testing kits but decided against testing as she was deemed “low-risk.”
“She wrote me the following on March 11th: ‘I tried to go to Ochsner [Medical Center] today to get a flu test and they told me it would be a week before I could see my PCP. I ended up getting [the flu test] at work. We only have 5 coronavirus tests at my clinic. I declined to take one so someone else could,'” Anderson wrote on Facebook.
Ott’s flu test returned negative, but her symptoms continued. She decided to take the COVID-19 test, but was told results would take five days to come in.
“On Friday March 19th she wrote: ‘Good morning! I love you.’ To my lasting shame, I replied: ‘Morning, sunshine. How you feeling?’ I very much wish I’d said ‘I love you’ back,” Anderson wrote. “She sent her last message to me at 8:36am in response: ‘A little better and hopeful. The herbs seems to be helping.’ At 6 6:54pm I texted, with no-reply. I called twice, with no-reply. I wrote: ‘I’m getting nervous. Just called twice. Text or call me soon. If I don’t hear from you within the hour I’m coming over there to check on you.'”
When Anderson arrived, it was too late. Ott was dead in her kitchen.
“For those of you not fortunate enough to have known her — know this: It’s an immeasurable loss,” he continued. “And seeing a woman I knew to be so full of life lying on the floor lifeless was devastating. I was afraid to touch her. I held her anyway. Her Coronavirus test results have still not come back.”
Coronavirus Home Test Announced
The first at-home testing kit for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has been announced by U.S. company Everlywell.
The novel coronavirus has taken over the world, being classified as a global pandemic and invoking fear in the hearts of billions. As we continue to practice social distancing through self-quarantine methods, we hope to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and flatten the curve. There aren’t many tests available to the public right now and, given the novel status of the illness, it will likely take over one year for a vaccine to be developed. As we brace ourselves for what’s looking set to be a pretty rough next few months, a U.S.-based company called Everlywell has just announced the first at-home coronavirus test, which should help identify even more cases of the virus.
CDC/Getty ImagesBeginning March 23, Everlywell will be adding a COVID-19 option to their home testing offers. Initially, the CDC was solely allowed to carry out testing for the virus but, according to Time, the FDA has allowed certified labs to issue their own tests. Everlywell, based in Texas, is the first company to present a wide testing option for COVID-19, promising quick results online. Overnight shipping to the lab is included.
Still, a doctor will need to prescribe the test for you to be able to order it. The kit reportedly includes a swab for the back of your throat and for your nose, and it costs $135.
If you are not showing symptoms, it is still being advised to practice social distancing.
First Coronavirus Vaccine Trial Begins In United States: Report
A human clinical trial of a potential vaccine for the new coronavirus will begin Monday in Seattle.
The first human participant in a clinical trial for a vaccine to protect against the new coronavirus will receive an experimental dose on Monday the AP reports. The trial, which is being funded by the National Institutes of Health, will take 45 young, healthy volunteers whom will receive different doses of shots co-developed by the NIH and the Massachusetts-based biotech firm Moderna Inc.
The vaccine study will not infect patients with the virus itself though. Rather, it will be “similar to investigational mRNA vaccines developed for the Zika virus and human metapneumovirus that have been tested in humans.” In other words, the goal is to determine whether the vaccine comes with any problematic side effects, eventually setting the stage for larger, more expansive testing down the road.
The testing is set to occur at the Kaiser Permanente Washington Research Institute in Seattle. Kaiser is one of at least nine other companies working to develop a coronavirus vaccine, including Gilead Sciences, Inovio Pharmaceuticals, and Johnson & Johnson among others.
The expectation is that the vaccine will take roughly 18 months to fully validate in a lab setting. We’ll keep you posted with more information moving forward.
Apple Reportedly Testing iMessage Feature To Unsend Texts
This could be a game changer.
We’ve all probably done it, sent a text message to the wrong person. Whether it was a drunk “u up?” text or accidentally saying something to your family group chat, most of us had endured the dreaded wrong text before. Well, luckily for us, we may not have to worry about that for much longer. According to MacRumors, Apple is reportedly testing a new feature that will allow iPhone owners retract messages sent through iMessage. However, since this would be an iMessage feature, this capability would likely only work when sending texts to another iPhone, iPad, or Mac user — not those using Android devices remember.
The logistics aren’t yet revealed as for how long you would have before the text was officially sent. On Google's email service, you can adjust your settings to choose whether you'd like to have the option of rescinding an email five, 10, 20, or 30 seconds after it's been sent. So I’d expect something similar to that concept.
It's one of several updates Apple is reportedly testing for iMessage, which may arrive in the company's next major iPhone update, expected to be called iOS 14. Other features Apple is reportedly testing include a typing indicator for group chats, aka those little dots you see when someone is typing, as well as a mentions feature for tagging other people in a group message.
Apple didn’t respond to the rumors, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted if confirmed or more info comes out. Stay tuned.
Stalker Of XXXTentacion’s Mom’s Home Ordered To Undergo Mental Exam: Report
X’s mom’s alleged stalker has to undergo mental examination.
Last week, reports surfaced that XXXTentacion’s mother had an alleged stalker on her hands who was trying to break into her home on several occasions. The 24-year old stalker, Donavon Banton, allegedly drove from New York to Florida a couple different times and has been stalking X’s mom’s house, trying to get her to open the door and being caught trying to climb through a window another time. He says he’s been receiving “sadistic messages” from XXXtentacion in his dreams and the only way to stop them was to contact XXXTentacion’s mother. The man also believes its X’s mom, Cleopatra Bernard, who is using witchcraft on him and speaking with X to do this.
So now not only was Cleopatra Bernard granted a restraining order last week, but a judge has now ordered the man to undergo mental examination. TheBlast reports that a Florida judge appointed a doctor to complete a competency evaluation on Mr. Banton, who’s actually been sitting in his jail cell since his arrest on January 24th.
The criminal case will be stayed until the outcome of the examination to determine if he is fit for trial. We’ll keep you posted moving forward. RIP X.
