The third episode of Lil Wayne‘s Young Money Radio show aired on Beats 1 Apple Music on Friday, and one of his guests was none other than his friend and past collaborator, Eminem. During their virtual chat, the two rappers caught up with each other and discussed their music in detail, even both admitting that they sometimes google their lyrics so that they don’t risk the crime of repeating the same bars in a new song.

At one point, Em took the time to praise his fellow MC, specifically for his incredible verses on the song, “Mona Lisa,” with Kendrick Lamar off Wayne’s 2018 album, Tha Carter V. It’s been widely regarded as some of Weezy’s best work in the past five years at least, and it looks like Em agrees that Wayne bodied it (3:00).
“I never got a chance to tell you but, yo,” Em begins, “‘Mona Lisa,’ your two verses on that sh*t…gotta be one of the top five verses of all time.” Wayne humbly thanks him for the kinds words, before Em continues with his admiration for the rapper’s craft. “I love when rappers are able to tell a story,” he expresses, “and don’t compromise any of the punchlines. It’s great to see you and me still doing it.” Wayne agrees, noting, “that right there alone, it shows the beauty of what we do, period.”
“It’s definitely an art to this sh*t and, man, you got it mastered,” Em tells Wayne. Revisit “Mona Lisa” below to refresh your memory. Do you agree that Wayne had some of the top five verses of all time on this track?
