Being traded can never be an easy thing to go through as a professional athlete. Andre Drummond went through that yesterday as he was dealt to the Cleveland Cavaliers in a trade that saw very few valuable assets go back to the Pistons. Immediately after the trade, Drummond took to Twitter where he claimed the league has no loyalty and how he had no indication he would be moved.
Ed Stefanski, the senior advisor for the Pistons, recently spoke about the Drummond trade and even touched on the big man's recent comments. As Stefanski explains, he understands Drummond's frustration and says the Cavaliers only became a ble option late in the trade deadline process.
“The worst thing in the world is have to trade someone who’s been here (for a long time),” Stefanski said according to detroitnews.com. “This is the only place he’s been in. Emotions are raw. Dre knew he was in trade talks and I was talking to his representatives about different things. Cleveland came in late. I guess you’d have to talk to Dre what exactly he meant. But again, emotions are raw when this stuff happens. I understand that.”
Now, Drummond will have to go to a team that is in the middle of an ugly rebuild. With this in mind, it's easy to see why he's frustrated.
Karl-Anthony Towns Pens Touching Message To Traded T-Wolves Players
Towns has been through a lot lately.
Karl-Anthony Towns has consistently been one of the best players on the Minnesota Timberwolves over the past few years. Unfortunately for him and his team, they have been in a huge rut. The squad is currently on a 13-game losing streak and they appear to be freefalling to the bottom of the league standings. In order to correct this trend, the Timberwolves made a plethora of trades, including one that sent Andrew Wiggins to Golden State in exchange for D’Angelo Russell.
Earlier this morning, Towns took to Instagram where he penned a heartfelt message to some of the guys he won’t be playing with anymore. He even posted some pictures of himself and these players which added to the sincerity behind his words.
“Want to take the time to thank my brothas that not only made me a better player but better person,” Towns said. “To Wiggs and G, you held me down ever since I stepped through the doors of minny and can’t thank you enough for being there with me when I needed y’all the most. I got love and respect for you. All love to everyone and praying for success.”
As of right now, the Timberwolves are stuck at a record of 15-35 and will be looking to get back in the win column Saturday night when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers.
Kyle Kuzma Comments On Lakers Not Trading Him At The Deadline
Kuzma was part of various rumors.
Kyle Kuzma has been a key piece to the Los Angeles Lakers puzzle over the last couple of years although he is constantly subjected to trade rumors. Whenever the Lakers try to create a trade package, teams demand they get Kuzma or nothing will get done. The Lakers have been stubborn when it comes to keeping Kuzma and during the trade deadline yesterday, the team opted out of a trade with the New York Knicks for Marcus Morris. Of course, this is because the Knicks wanted Kuzma but the Lakers didn’t want to give him up.
According to Ryan Ward of Clutch Points, Kuzma gave an interesting answer when asked about not being traded and whether or not he feels like there is more pressure for him to succeed.

“Nope,” Kuzma replied. “Just play my role. Come in, play with energy. Crash the boards every time. When I get the ball, just make the best of it. There’s no pressure. The media people they may try to make those extra pressures on you, but I trust my teammates, and I trust what we got going on here. I’m just trying to play my role.”
Kuzma and the Lakers currently sit at a record of 38-12 and are first place in the entire Western Conference. If Kuzma becomes more consistent and the Lakers maintain their play, they will certainly be favorites to win the championship.
LeBron James Weighs In On Andre Iguodala Heat Trade
Iguodala was holding out from playing with the Grizzlies.
During the late stages of Wednesday night, NBA veteran Andre Iguodala was traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Miami Heat. The trade involved a total of six players including Jae Crowder, Solomon Hill, James Johnson, Justise Winslow, and Dion Waiters. Heat fans are excited to see Iguodala in action and are confident his experience will make the Heat a much better team.
Miami has been one of the surprise teams in the league this year and with this latest move, some feel like they can make a championship run. Earlier today, LeBron James was asked about the trade and what he thinks it will do for the Heat. As someone who has respect for Iguodala, James thinks the deal is great for both sides.
“I saw it and I was like, ‘OK.’ I think it makes them a better team because of his championship DNA, you add that to that championship culture down there,” James said per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. “So it helps them right away. I know that ‘Dre is happy to be suiting it back up”
Iguodala won Finals MVP back in 2015 for his defensive efforts against LeBron so the Lakers star certainly knows what Iggy is capable of. Fortunately for LeBron, he would only have to face Iguodala and the Heat in the playoffs if they were to both reach the finals.
Lakers Refused To Give Up Kyle Kuzma For Marcus Morris: Report
Lakers fans were expecting a big trade.
Today was supposed to be a big day for the Los Angeles Lakers. Heading into the trade deadline, it was apparent that the team needed a few extra pieces in order to become a sure-fire contender for the NBA Championship. So far, the deadline has come and gone and the Lakers haven't made a single trade. Earlier today, it was reported that the Lakers were in contention for Marcus Morris of the New York Knicks but he ended up going to the Los Angeles Clippers. Of course, the Clippers are the Lakers' biggest rival right now.
According to Shams Charania, Morris could have been a Laker if the team had given up young star Kyle Kuzma. The Lakers have been adamant about holding on to Kuzma and, once again, the Lakers passed up an offer because of their strong feelings towards him.
The Clippers were also able to acquire Isaiah Thomas from the Washington Wizards which just goes to show how they're trying to get some depth before the playoffs. These moves should scare the Lakers as they aren't nearly as complete of a team as the Clippers, who they could most likely face in the Western Conference Finals.
Let us know in the comments if you think the Lakers made a mistake holding on to Kuzma or if this is the right move for them?

Andre Iguodala Reacts To Being Traded To The Miami Heat: Watch
Iggy has been waiting on a trade for a while.
Andre Iguodala was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies during the offseason and he hasn't stepped foot on the court since. It was apparent from the very beginning that Iggy had no interest in playing for the organization and that he would be looking to be traded elsewhere. Yesterday, his wish finally came true as he was sent to the Miami Heat in exchange for Justise Winslow and some draft picks.
Following the trade, fans began debating who won the deal, with many saying the Grizzlies came out on top. Last night, Iguodala was asked by ESPN's Marc J Spears about the deal and as you would expect, he's pretty excited about it.
“I’m really excited about that," Iguodala said when asked about playing with Jimmy Butler. "Jimmy Butler obviously proved to be one of those guys who were looked at as different but very well-respected in terms of the passion and hard work that he brings out to the game. I feel like his temperament and values that he have really resonates with the Miami Heat.”
Iguodala is joining a team with Jimmy Butler, Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo, and various other solid role players. His championship experience will certainly go a long way on this roster and Miami fans are excited to see how everyone meshes, moving forward.

Andre Iguodala Traded To Miami Heat, Thunder Look To Get Involved
This trade was a long time coming.
Andre Iguodala was beginning to get on the nerves of Memphis Grizzlies players. Earlier in the week, Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks made public comments about how Iguodala refused to play for the Grizzlies and how they thought it was sort of disrespectful. The Grizzlies were waiting to trade Iggy and last night, they finally did it. Iguodala was dealt to the Miami Heat in exchange for Justise Winslow and some draft picks that haven't been entirely ironed out yet. After being traded, Iggy signed a 2-year extension with the Heat, worth $30 million.
Now, Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that the trade could be expanded with the Oklahoma City Thunder wanting to join in on the action. In fact, the Heat are trying to get Danilo Gallinari who has been a part of trade talks over the last few weeks.
With this latest trade in mind, it's clear the Heat are trying to make a legitimate run at the NBA championship. The Heat are the surprise team of the season and if they manage to land Gallinari, they will have sufficient help for their star, Jimmy Butler. This is the first real blockbuster trade of the deadline and we're sure there will be even more great deals to come.

D’Angelo Russell Heavily Pursued By Knicks, Warriors Won’t Budge
The Knicks could use a young star right about now.
Of all the names being thrown around throughout the NBA trade deadline cycle, D'Angelo Russell is one of the players we have heard the most about. Ever since joining the Golden State Warriors, it was believed he would be a rental to replace Klay Thompson for a little while. Over the past couple of weeks, it has become apparent that various teams are trying to get him, including the Minnesota Timberwolves. Now, yet another team is throwing their hat into the ring, this time, the New York Knicks.
According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, the Knicks have been pursuing Russell and have even proposed some trade packages. So far, the Warriors have denied all of them as the Knicks aren't close to matching their demands.
Realistically, the Knicks don't have very much to offer the Warriors when it comes to roster players. The Warriors will be fine when Steph Curry and Thompson get back so there is no point in trying to look for quick replacements. Meanwhile, the Knicks are rebuilding for their future and can't afford to give up first-round picks for Russell, who isn't a proven franchise player.
Stay tuned for updates on the trade deadline as we will be sure to bring them to you.
