If this move was meant to endear people to her brand, Nicki Minaj did not succeed because, after announcing that she would be teaming up with Tekashi 6ix9ine for yet another song, she's being dragged across social media.
Nicki Minaj told the world that, on Friday, she would be releasing her second single with Tekashi 6ix9ine. She is one of the first artists to collaborate with the rapper since his release from prison and his controversial status as a snitch is rubbing tons of people the wrong way.
While the vast majority of Minaj's own fanbase is supporting her decision to team up with her rainbow-haired "FEFE" collaborator, people outside of the Barbz group are criticizing her every move.
Directly following the announcement that the song would be out this week, several terms began trending as people reacted to the news. "Nicki," "Onika," "Nicki Minaj," "FEFE," and more all gained traction as trending topics.
Regardless of what people are saying about her collaborating with 6ix9ine a second time, it's clear that Nicki Minaj is incapable of ever being canceled. At this point in her career, she has been through numerous controversies, including her first collaboration with the rainbow-haired rapper. We're confident that she'll be able to get through this one too.
Will you be listening on Friday?
Fox News Host Tucker Carlson Labeled Racist After "It’s Not About Black Lives" Remark
Fox News host Tucker Carlson is facing backlash in response to his criticisms of Black Lives Matter and the recent George Floyd protests.
Tucker Carlson is currently facing a storm of online backlash stemming from comments he recently made about the Black Lives Matter movement and recent protests. During his primetime Fox News segment last night, Carlson questioned the intentions of protests against policebrutality and George Floyd’s death, declaring “This may be about a lot of things… but it is definitely not about black lives.” He also warned his audience to “Remember that when they come for you," adding "at this rate, they will.”
While some conservative commentators applauded Carlson, many others harshly condemned him, causing #tuckercarlsonisaracist to trend on twitter as users pleaded advertisers to stop sponsoring his segment. The public has been most up in arms about Carlson’s “when they come for you” warning, believing that Carlson was referring to black people specifically when referencing “they.”
Although some seem to be shocked by Carlson’s words, other twitter users say they are less surprised and that they have always known the host to be a racist.
Meanwhile, Carlson and his supporters insist that the words causing outrage were taken out of context by those looking to cause controversy. A Fox News spokesman told the Washington Post: “Tucker’s warning about ‘when they come for you’ was clearly referring to Democratic leaders and inner city politicians,” while Carlson defended himself saying “You’re not allowed to question Black Lives Matter in any way. Full stop…That rule has been enforced without mercy everywhere.”
Let us know your thoughts on Tucker Carlson and his recent remarks in the comments below.
B. Simone Says She Won’t Date A Man With A 9-5 & Gets Dragged
B. Simone is coming under fire for comments she made during a new interview with Nick Cannon.
While most of us already know that B. Simone's ideal man = DaBaby, Nick Cannon still decided to grill the TV personality on the traits she looks for in a would-be partner during an interview. Her answers have resulted in some strong twitter reactions, making her trend this morning across the platform.
In the interview, which was actually conducted two weeks ago but is receiving renewed life thanks to a clip that The Shade Room shared (below), finds B. Simone talking about her love life and the possibility of going on a blind date (set up by Cannon). When Cannon presses B. Simone about what she wants in her man, Simone states, "He can't have a 9-5," she continues, "he can be a hustling entrepreneur," before confirming with Cannon that she wants someone who is "CEO status."
She continued, "I think entrepreneurs should date entrepreneurs," before claiming that anyone else would not understand her lifestyle. Now that the public has zeroed in on these remarks, they have things to say. Check out some of the reactions across twitter this morning in response to B. Simone's ideal man wishlist.
Police Officers Kneeling Sparks Debate
Footage of police officers kneeling in solidarity with protestors has sparked optimism in some, wariness in others.
With thousands taking to the streets on a daily basis, fighting to rise up against police brutality and systemic racism, the entire world appears to be watching the George Floyd protests unfold. And while the sight of police reacting with violent tactics-- sometimes unprovoked and often against unarmed citizens-- has become disturbingly commonplace, there do remain those who seek to conduct themselves differently. At least, we can only hope that to be the case.

In Michigan, a Genesee County Sherrif by the name of Chris Swanson joined protestors in a powerful moment of solidarity, one that did not go unnoticed by those marching. While his actions, and those of his team who followed suit, went viral, it's easy to lose sight of those moments amidst all the chaos. It's also increasingly difficult to discern the authenticity behind them, with reports that some police have been kneeling as a means of lulling protestors into a false sense of security. Many have already taken to Twitter to debate the motivation behind these moments of perceived solidarity, and it didn't take long for a "photo-op" narrative to form.
Viral footage of police officers in Montreal, Canada kneeling initially sparked waves of optimism -- that is, until the protestors realized that they were only kneeling to put on their gas masks. Other footage has elicited a far more positive response, though many have questioned whether the gestures were simply attempts to save face in light of a worsening reputation. A perusal through Twitter reveals a healthy skepticism toward the police force, one that stands seemingly at odds with those witnessing the kneeling officers first-hand. Yet it does reveal an underlying problem, one of shattered trust -- for a movement meant to "serve and protect," a problem of such magnitude simply cannot be ignored.
Given everything that has transpired between police and the Black community, it's clear that there is much healing to be done. It's entirely possible these attempts to reconcile are sincere for some of the acting officers, and they should be respected for leading by example. Either way, this fight for racial equality and systemic change remains ongoing, with further protests set to continue throughout the week. Rest in peace George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and the countless others who have lost their lives.
Ben & Jerry’s Nike SB Dunk Low Release Had Sneakerheads In Tears
Everybody struck out on the Ben & Jerry's Nike SB Dunk Low "Chunky Dunky" this morning.
One of the most coveted sneaker releases of the entire year, the Ben & Jerry's Nike SB Dunk Low "Chunky Dunky," has officially come and gone and you had to be speedy and incredibly lucky to get your hands on a pair. Releasing at various skate shops across the nation, a more general release was held on the SNKRS app this morning and, as usual, virtually nobody was able to check out.
Copping sneakers has become a struggle as you almost always need to have a plug or a bot to be able to secure your size. If not, you're likely stuck paying resale. In this case, the after-market price for the "Chunky Dunky" Nike SB Dunk Lows is incredibly high, making anybody who struck out pretty upset. As of this publication, certain sizes are going for over $2,000.
Sneakerheads took to social media to voice their frustration after not being able to get a pair of the hyped shoes, drowning themselves in tears and praying that the next pair would be easier to cop. With this being the year of the Dunks, you can bet your top dollar that another sneaker will come crashing down on us, leading to this vicious cycle all over again.
Were you able to get your hands on a pair?
Azealia Banks Claims She Had Sex With Dave Chappelle; Twitter Reacts
Azealia Banks said she had sex with Dave Chappelle, leading to some wild reactions online.
In the midst of her latest tirade against Nicki Minaj (and Doja Cat by extension), Azealia Banks made some wild claims about having an affair with Dave Chappelle.
"I have actually fucked a lot of fucking very powerful fucking men," said the rapper. "I should ruin your fucking marriage, I should tell the world we fucked. What the fuck I'm keeping secrets from y'all n***as for? Nah, Dave Chappelle can fuck me again. That was some good black dick."
As expected, social media has gone bonkers with this revelation, joking about Azealia Banks and how she can make the strangest claims at times. For the last five years, she has remained semi-relevant almost solely because of the crazy shit that comes out of her mouth. This, like other times, elicited a strong reaction.
A number of people are predicting that the comedian, who is a married man, will come for Azealia during his next special. Others are calling her out for her previous remarks that she does not have sex with black men.
At the end of the day, the legitimacy of these claims is really shotty. Azealia Banks isn't always the most believable and she seemingly loves to tear other people down. Do you think this actually happened though?
Young Thug & Chris Brown’s "Slime & B" Has Fans Thrilled
Chris Brown and Young Thug have officially dropped off their collaborative debut "Slime & B," and early responses have begun to roll in.
Last night, Chris Brown and Young Thug decided to hop back in time and release their anticipated collaboration tape Slime & B on DatPiff and SoundCloud, skipping over streaming platforms for the time being. And while it has only been a few hours -- in other words, far too short a window to gain any lasting impressions from an album -- many have already responded favorably to Thugger and Breezy's concentrated dose of melodies and singsong bars.

With production from Murda Beatz, Turbo, A1 and OG Parker, as well as features from Future, Gunna, Lil Duke, E40, and Too Short, $lime & B feels closer to an album than a mixtape. Not that there's much of a distinction to be made these days. In any case, the fans have wasted little time in diving into the project, emerging onto the other side pleasantly surprised and wholly satisfied. Especially given the relatively low-stakes nature of the release, which arrives on the same day as Chris Breezy's 31st birthday no less.
Even those within our own HNHH comment community seemed to respond favorably to the album, with a seemingly unanimous consensus of VERY HOTTTT. Not to mention a slew of positive feedback on the project, a far cry from the general negativity surrounding collaboration albums back in 2017. Check out a few early responses from Twitter and our own comment section below, and chime in -- did Slime & B exceed your expectations?
Nelly Fans Rally After A$AP Rocky’s Bold Air Force 1 Claim
Like "Candyman," if one says "Air Force 1s" three times in front of a mirror, legend has it that Nelly will appear -- bandaid and all.
Though Nelly hasn't been quite so active as he once was back in the early millennium, his fans have remained unwaveringly loyal to the St. Louis legend. So much so than when news broke that A$AP Rocky had reportedly taken credit for popularizing Nike's iconic Air Force 1 sneaker, the Lunatic army came through in defiant droves. It didn't take long for a stern reminder to be issued by hundreds of voices, many of whom were quick to point to Nelly, and by extension the St. Lunatics, as the true innovators in that department.
Lest we forget that in 2002, Nelly launched his sophomore album Nellyville with the classic single "Air Force 1s." Thanks to an infectious chorus heavy on the drawl, the Nike shoe quickly became a hot ticket item -- especially for suburban fans who were only just delving into the world of sneaker culture. Clearly, the fans didn't take kindly to Rocky's presumptuous claim, as a perusal through Twitter has indicated.
And while Rocky's narrative was swiftly dispelled, at least by one vocal demographic, Just Blaze took a moment to lay down his own perspective on the topic. "Respectfully, rocky and Nelly are homies. But we have BEEN doing them out here," he maintains, alluding to his come up in New Jersey. "And I would venture to say that us doing them as far back we did is reason why we got a song about them needing 2 purr in the Midwest. STYLES TRAVEL. Hov didn’t “baby suit, white Nike her”for this."
If not for anything, it's interesting to see how ride-or-die Nelly's fans remain, a testament to the impact of his epic run all those years ago. Where do you stand on the topic -- did Nelly first put "Air Force 1s" on your radar?
Rihanna Returns On PARTYNEXTDOOR Album: Fans Go Crazy
Rihanna said five words on the new PARTYNEXTDOOR song, but her fans are still living for it.
For the first time in four long years, Rihanna is officially back in the music world. It's been a long time coming and, although we all thought that this moment would come through the arrival of R9, it ended up being on PARTYNEXTDOOR's new album PARTYMOBILE.
Yesterday, a rumor began flying around that the Bajan Beauty would be linking up with PARTYNEXTDOOR for their long-awaited collaboration, and the speculation turned out to be true. Rihanna's vocals bless us on "Believe It," the next single from PND's brand new album. Although she only ends up saying a total of about five words, the Rihanna Navy couldn't be more excited to welcome her back into the fray. Some people don't think this is a permanent return though.
"Rihanna going back to Fenty after singing 5 words," wrote one fan on Twitter, sharing a video of LeBron James walking out of a press session.
Others were more optimistic: "SHE’S ONLY SINGING 5 WORDS BUT ITS A START PEOPLE."
While her return is underwhelming to some, it lays out a world of possibilities for others. Which side of the spectrum are you staying on? Do you think Rihanna will be back full-time now, focusing on the eventual release of her ninth studio album, or are we just getting our hopes up?
Tyler Herro Flirts With IG Model Katya Elise Henry: Fans React
Tyler Herro sends #NBATwitter into a frenzy after he, seemingly, successfully shoots his shot at Katya Elise Henry.
Miami Heat rookie Tyler Herro was having himself a fine season on the court before the NBA season was suspended indefinitely. In his 47 appearances, the 20-year old shooting guard is averaging 12.9 points with 4 rebounds per game while shooting 39% from three-point range.
It's true, the former Kentucky Wildcats' shot is a thing of beauty, whether he's making it rain at AmericanAirlines Arena or simply shooting his shot at a well-known model during a pandemic.
As seen in the screen shot embedded above, Herro recently made a simple "WYD" pass at Instagram model Katya Elise Henry. Henry, who was previously linked to Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma, quickly replied "quarantine n chill? [with the smirk emoji!]."
According to Henry's IG page, which boasts 7.1M followers, she is based in Miami so this may not be the first time that she and Herro have interacted. Whatever the case may be, NBA Twitter lost their collective minds when she publicly invited the Heat rookie to shack up together during these trying times.
Check out some of the reactions below.
