At this stage in the game, we're all well aware of the power of social media. The internet can bring people together for a variety of reasons, and as millions continue to connect about the recent George Floyd-influenced protests that have swept the nation, others have aided in Nicki Minaj looking into dropping an unreleased track: "New Body" with Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign.

When Kanye West decided not to deliver his highly-anticipated album Yandhi, all of the songs went on the shelf. The project was leaked and fans who grabbed themselves viral copies have been enjoying its tunes, including Ye's song "New Body" featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign. There were rumors that the track would be reimagined as a cleaner, Christian version for Yeezy's Jesus is King, but in the end, "New Body" didn't make it to that tracklist, either. According to reports, Kanye and Nicki couldn't see eye to eye.
"New Body" has gained traction over on TikTok, and we may just see the official version hit streaming services. While watching DJ Boof on Instagram Live, Nicki was spotted in the comments. A few fans asked about "New Body," and she told them that she would contact Kanye to see if he'd agree to release the song. She also mentioned that they shot a music video for the track, as well, while reportedly also saying she's not a fan of the track. Check it out below.
Ty Dolla $ign Shares New Song About George Floyd & Racism
Ty Dolla $ign shares a portion of his new song with Skrillex and Ant Clemons about the death of George Floyd.
People are sick and tired of having to read about another black man killed by the police after George Floyd lost his life last week. The 46-year-old man lost his life due to asphyxia by way of sustained and forceful pressure to his neck and back, cutting off his airway. Protests have taken place across North America and several artists have spoken out by way of their music.
We have already shared new songs from Conway The Machine (“Front Lines“) and Terrace Martin with Denzel Curry (“Pig Feet”) and now, Ty Dolla $ign is contributing with some powerful lyrics about the current state of affairs in the country.

“Rip #georgefloyd and all the others that lost there life to police brutality and injustice. Shits been happening for far too long now. It’s time for change and we demand it,” wrote Ty Dolla $ign before sharing a snippet of his new song with Skrillex, Ant Clemons, and more on Instagram.
“I know you see it/My people dying in the streets and they ain’t breathing,” he sings. “I know you heard about it/You know the issues but the problems you ain’t speaking/How many more of my brothers do I gotta lose till I see change.”
The full version of the track has not yet been released. Listen to the preview below.
PARTYNEXTDOOR Calls Cap On Frank Ocean & 6LACK’s Streaming Numbers
PARTYNEXTDOOR isn't a fan of the streaming numbers list that DJ Akademiks shared for R&B artists.
PARTYNEXTDOOR just dropped his new album PARTYMOBILE, which marked his official return to the game. He never really dropped off in popularity though. For years, the Toronto native has been one of the most prominent figures in R&B.
When DJ Akademiks took a look into the latest streaming numbers for R&B artists, he was surprised to make a few discoveries. For one, Ak didn't know just how impactful 6LACK has become. Although he didn't make any observations about PARTYNEXTDOOR's placement as sixth on the list, the recording artist caught wind of the numbers and decided to voice his frustration.

Re-posting the numbers with a cap emoji, it looks PND wants a recount. If the statistics are accurate, that would mean that Frank Ocean remains the most popular R&B artist on streaming platforms, despite his musical inactivity in recent years. He is followed directly by 6LACK, Daniel Caesar, Bryson Tiller, and the self-proclaimed king of the genre Jacquees.
PARTYNEXTDOOR clocked in 937 million streams, which is nothing to scoff at. In fact, that's more than most artists will ever see in their lifetime. However, he's not trusting of the source, calling out whoever put the list together and determining it false news.
Do you think PND's numbers are actually higher?

Ty Dolla $ign Previews New Music With Nicki Minaj & YG
Ty Dolla $ign gave his fans a taste of what is to come during on IG live session.
We are all currently in the same positions as one another. Of course, I am talking about the fact that we are being told to stay at home in order to curb the spread of the Coronavirus. With this in mind, everyone is looking for some much-needed entertainment to distract us from everything that has been going on. Musicians are starting to take responsibility for the entertainment of others and have been doing Instagram Livestreams to help pass the time.
Over the weekend, Ty Dolla $ign did exactly that and even previewed some new tracks for his fans. As you can see from the video below, Ty has new songs with Nicki Minaj and YG on the way. If you’re a fan of the singer, this should come as great news considering we have been waiting a very long time for a new Ty Dolla $ign project.
Numerous artists have noted that the Coronavirus has put a stop to the production of their projects. In some cases, it has even delayed albums that are already finished. While it’s unknown where Ty is in the production of his latest body of work, there is no denying he has some fire on the way and we can’t wait to hear all of it.

Usher & DVSN Blow Up This Week’s "R&B Season" Playlist
Usher’s reunion track with Ludacris and Lil Jon, along with dvsn’s slow jam with Ty Dolla $ign and Banju Banton, highlight our “R&B Season” playlist this week.
The long-awaited reunion of past collaborators Usher, Ludacris, and Lil Jon, as well as dvsn, Ty Dolla $ign, and Banju Banton linking up are just a few reasons that this week’s “R&B Season” playlist is looking hot as hell. As usual, we’ve been keeping our specially-curated “R&B Season” playlist updated with the best R&B offerings, and this week we’ve racked up a few essential additions.
Of course, the highly-anticipated “SexBeat” from Usher, Ludacris, and Lil Jon made the cut, marking the official reunion of the iconic trio behind 2004’s “Yeah!” and “Lovers & Friends.” Although fans were made aware that such a collaboration existed back in November, Jon built the hype way up during his beat battle with T-Pain over Instagram live last weekend when he played almost the entire track. In the days to follow, fans begged Usher to let Jon drop it as a single ASAP, since Usher had initially intended to release it on his upcoming album, Confessions III. However, we were officially treated to the raunchy yet romantic “SexBeat” on Friday, and it was well worth the 16-year wait.
Dvsn also came through with a dope new single featuring the likes of Ty Dolla $ign and Banju Banton, titled, “Dangerous City.” The single is the latest from the OVO duo as they gear up for the release of their album, A Muse in Her Feelings, their first since 2017’s Morning After. We’ve also included another track from Kiana Ledé’s new album, KIKI, this week, this time highlighting the Ari-Lennox-featured “Chocolate.” And make sure to check out “On The Road” from up-and-comer, Young Rog. Get into our updated “R&B Season” playlist below and don’t forget to follow our other specially-curated playlists.

Ciara & Russell Wilson’s Family Take On Viral TikTok Challenge
Ciara and Russell Wilson were joined by their kids Future and Sienna and Russell’s sister, Anna, to participate in the “Something New” TikTok dance challenge.
Ciara and Russell Wilson are killing time in quarantine by taking a stab at the viral TikTok dance challenge set to Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign‘s “Something New,” alongside their son, Future, daughter, Sienna, and Russell’s sister, Anna Wilson. While so many families are stuck at home to practice social distancing and avoid further spreading coronavirus to others, many are struggling to find activities to occupy their time—but not the Wilson household. The power couple decided to entertain their little ones by trying their hand at one of the popular dance challenges that has become a viral trend on the app, and Russell’s sister Anna, who plays for the Stanford Cardinal women’s basketball team, gave them some assistance.
“1st Family Tik Tok Post,” Ciara captioned the post. “Too much fun. #Family.” In the clip, the chorus of Wiz Khalifa’s “Something New” sung by Ty Dolla $ign plays while 2-year-old Sienna leads the lineup by doing her toddler rendition of the dance, in which the participant is meant to push each elbow out to the side before shimmying and clapping. The youngster is followed by her 7-year-old half-brother, Future Jr., who also puts his own spin on the choreography. A very pregnant Ciara, who announced that she was expecting her third child back in January, goes next, followed by Anna and finally Russell, while Sienna and Future run around. The results are just too cute, and we’re glad this family is keeping busy with some fun activities during these trying times.
18 New Lil Wayne Songs Surface With "Tha Carter Chronicles"
Weezy fans just got a treat in the form of 18 songs by Lil Wayne that recently surfaced under a mixtape labeled as “Tha Carter Chronicles.”
Lil Wayne blessed rap fans everywhere with the release of Funeral a little over a month ago, and even recently dropped a feature for Lil Baby’s new album My Turn on “Forever.” Still, you can never have enough new Weezy, which makes the arrival of a new 18-track project under the title Tha Carter Chronicles feel like a very fitting way to start off the month of March.

Clearly a leak and not anything officially released by Weezy as far as we know, Tha Carter Chronicles is comprised of features with the likes of Ty Dolla $ign, Capo, Dre and Hoodybaby, in addition to alternatie takes of previously released and/or leaked songs. Given who it is behind the mic, the mixtape is impressive for what it is and gives you moments of clever lyricism, classic turn-up tracks and moments of melody that can only really sound on-key in Wayne’s world.
Take a listen to all 18 songs on Tha Carter Chronicles by heading over to DatPiff, and let us know if you think it holds up against his official discography.

Jhene Aiko Drops "Chilombo" Tracklist Ft. Future, Big Sean & More
Jhene Aiko’s “Chilombo” includes appearances from Big Sean, Future, Ab-Soul, Nas, and more.
Jhene Aiko is preparing for the release of her forthcoming project, Chilombo which is set to arrive next month. The “Triggered” singer unleashed the tracklist for the project earlier today which includes 20 tracks in total. Singles like the previously mentioned “Triggered,” the Big Sean-assisted, “None Of Your Concern,” and the recently released, “P*$$Y FAIRY” also appear on the project. Jhene Aiko’s Chilombo does include a variety of old collaborators and new ones. Ab-Soul and Ty Dolla $ign appear on the tracklist as well as Future, Miguel, H.E.R, Nas, and John Legend. Oh, and her dad, Dr. Chill who also did the album art.
Jhene Aiko’s new project is set to arrive on March 6th, serving as her official follow-up to 2017’s TRIP. Over the last few years, her ups and downs in her relationship have spilled into the limelight which presumably influenced a portion of this album. However, she did state in a series of tweets recently that this album was the “realest shit I ever wrote.” For her die-hard fans, she described it as “if sailing soul(s), sail out, souled out and trip had a baby.”
With the release date approaching, we’re hoping that she pulls up with a brand new single or at the very least, a new visual, to hold us off until she drops Chilombo.
Peep the tracklist below.
