DaBaby‘s alleged slap victim, Tyronesha Laws, has filed a lawsuit against the rapper after he attacked her at his show in Tampa, although his lawyer claims she is not the woman he actually hit. The world was shocked last weekend when footage of DaBaby beating a woman in the crowd at one of his gigs surfaced online. DaBaby went on to address the incident, in which a fan flashed their bright flashlight in his face and appeared to accidentally hit him with their phone, which led to his violent reaction. While he did apologize for his actions, he maintained that his fans need to respect his space at all times.

However, despite this gesture, the victim of the physical assault felt the apology was “insincere,” especially since he went on to joke about the incident on several occasions including in a skit with comedian Michael Blackson. The woman in question, Tyronesha Laws, is now suing the rapper for “battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress and other damages.” According to her attorneys, Matt Morgan and Chelsea Cromer of Morgan and Morgan, their “goal is to deter similar conduct in the future and send a message that this type of behavior is not tolerated in America.”

Tyronesha has explained that while she was the victim of the “outrageous and shocking” violent outburst, she did not in fact flash her phone in his face. Instead, a woman next to her in the crowd was guilty of that, but Tyronesha was the one who ended up getting smacked “suddenly and without any warning.” However, DaBaby’s lawyer, Drew Findling, claims that Tyronesha is not actually the woman that DaBaby hit, noting that he definitely went rogue on the person holding the phone. He also revealed that plenty of other folks have approached his firm claiming to be the victim of the attack, as well.

The woman claiming to be the victim of DaBaby‘s recent attack that was caught on camera is not the person he actually hit, according to the rapper himself. Over the weekend, footage of what appeared to be DaBaby slapping a woman across the face after she hit him with her phone surfaced on the Internet. The altercation took place in the crowd of his after party at the Whiskey North in Tampa, Florida on Saturday evening. DaBaby went on to apologize and offered to fly the fan out to meet him so that they could talk face-to-face. However, he does not regret his response to the situation, maintaining that his fans need to respect his personal space. He’s gone on to joke about the altercation on social media, which the alleged victim, Tyronesha Laws, was not happy about. However, TMZ reports that DaBaby’s attorney, Drew Findling, has denied that Tyronesha is the woman DaBaby attacked in the first place.

Tyronesha came forward as the person who was struck by DaBaby, revealing that a young lady next to her in the crowd at the concert was the one who whipped her phone out and flashed her flashlight in DaBaby’s face. Tyronesha claimed that she just got caught in the crosshairs of DaBaby’s retaliation, but enhanced video footage of the incident shows that DaBaby definitely smacked the person holding the flashlit phone, not someone in her vicinity. Findling revealed that multiple people have contacted his law firm claiming to be the victim, but they have not established the real identity of the victim as of yet.

The fan at the end of DaBaby‘s slap has come forward to share her side of the story. It was at one of the rapper’s shows in Tampa, Florida over the weekend when DaBaby was making his way to the stage through the crowd and was hit in the face with a fan’s phone. His response was to turn and hit the person in the face, but when all was said and done, the person was revealed to be a woman.

DaBaby would later apologize for his actions, but he explained that he didn’t think he was wrong because he was just protecting himself. On Wednesday (March 11), TMZ reported that they spoke with Tyronesha Laws, the slap victim, and she told what happened from her perspective.

“We went upstairs on the stairway to take a picture at the picture booth by the stage,” she said. “I see security saying move, move, move everyone move out the way. I was standing next to a young lady and all of a sudden I turned around and I said to my boyfriend, ‘There go DaBaby, he’s coming through.'” Then, the woman next to her “pulled out her camera” turned on the flash, and tried taking a photo. Tyronesha claims DaBaby slaps her for no reason, sending her to the floor.

“I woke up, my head was hurting really, really bad,” she told the publication. “The top of my right cheekbone, it was hurting like it was tender. So, I did go to the hospital and I was diagnosed with a contusion to my cheekbone.” Tyronesha added that she saw DaBaby’s apology, but she wasn’t happy that he continued to make jokes about the incident.

“I don’t feel like he was sincere with the apology,” Tyronesha added. “I was embarrassed. I had people calling me, writing me on Instagram through fake pages, people seeing me at my job like, ‘You’re the girl that got slapped.’ It’s embarrassing. My daughter wakes up in the middle of the night crying over hearing me on the phone with my lawyer talking about the situation.” Watch Tyronesha Laws detail her experience with DaBaby below.
