Adrian Peterson is one of the most legendary running backs in the history of the NFL and despite his age, he is still putting up big numbers and excelling with the Washington Redskins. The running back has been keeping up with the political climate of the country over the past week or so, and recently, he was asked about kneeling for the anthem and whether or not that's something he would consider doing during the 2020 season.
As he explained in the clip below, he absolutely plans on supporting his fellow players and he even noted that if everyone protests, the league can't do anything about it. At the end of the day, suspending a large majority of your players is simply bad for business.
"Are they going to try to punish us all?" Peterson said. "If not playing football is going to help us save lives and change things, then that's just what it has to be."
Peterson also went on to say that he was disappointed with Drew Brees' stance on kneeling and that he should have thought about it a bit more before commenting.
As for the NFL, well, Roger Goodell recently admitted that the league messed up four years ago and that they plan on protesting with the players.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Department says a witness heard arguing followed by gunshots inside the apartment. Latimer was booked on felony charges of assault in the second degree, menacing, illegal discharge of a firearm, misdemeanor charges of prohibited use of a weapon, and reckless endangerment.
“There’s an entire back story to this situation that constitutes one of the most highly provocative situations you can imagine,” Latimer’s attorney Harvey Steinberg said in a statement, according to ESPN. “Please withhold judgment until all the facts of what took place that night are known.”
One person suffered minor injuries during the reported shooting.
“We are aware of the situation and have informed the NFL League Office,” the Redskins said in a statement. “We will continue to gather more information and have no further comment at this time.”
Latimer has been with the Redskins since April. He’s also played for the Giants and Broncos during his six-year career. Latimer has recorded 70 receptions, 935 receiving yards, and six touchdowns during his career.
Latimer has since posted a $25,000 bond.

Redskins & 49ers Make Trent Williams Trade Official
Trent Williams and the Washington Redskins have been moving closer to parting ways over the past few months
Trent Williams has consistently been one of the best left tackles in the entire NFL over the past few years but recently, it's been clear that him and the Washington Redskins need to move on from one another. Williams requested a trade a while back and for the past few weeks leading up to the draft, the Redskins have been exploring their options and looking for a deal that will work for both sides.
Today, it was reported by Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network that the San Francisco 49ers would be acquiring Williams in exchange for a 5th round draft pick in 2020 and a third-round draft pick in 2021. The 49ers were in need of a left tackle and now they have a stud who will not just protect the QB but open up the run game as well.
The Redskins have been pretty abysmal over the last few years while the San Francisco 49ers are fresh off of an appearance in the Super Bowl. With this in mind, Williams will certainly be going to a much better situation and will be in a position to win now.
If you're a 49ers fan, this should be a trade that excites you.
Redskins Make A Trade For NFC South Quarterback
The Washington Redskins have traded for a QB to place alongside Dwayne Haskins.
NFL free agency has provided us with a ton of movement in the form of trades and free agent signings. Players throughout the league are changing teams at a rate that we have never really seen before. This is especially true when we think of quarterbacks. QBs typically spend their entire careers with one team but now, this is simply not the case. For now, it looks like Cam Newton will be traded out of Carolina but today, it was his backup who got placed on the shipping container.
Yes, that's right, Kyle Allen has been traded to the Washington Redskins, of all teams. The Redskins have rookie Dwayne Haskins although now, it looks like they aren't sure as to who they want to be their starter. According to ESPN reporter Jordan Schultz, the Redskins gave up a fifth-round pick in the deal.
It remains to be seen what the Panthers do with Newton moving forward. The QB is oftentimes injured and not many teams seem keen on picking him up. Newton is a former MVP who can certainly make a difference when he's healthy although for now, he is stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Stay tuned for updates on NFL free agency as we will be sure to bring them to you.
Josh Norman To Be Released By The Washington Redskins
Josh Norman has consistently referred to himself as the best cornerback in the NFL.
Josh Norman has been one of the most vocal players in the NFL over the last little while. Every single weekend, Norman would come through with a statement about how good he is at the cornerback position and how no one could beat him. Of course, a lot of these comments were false as Norman was consistently beaten by rival receivers. It was clear that Washington was starting to get annoyed with his antics and today, those sentiments were met with serious actions.
According to Mike Garafolo of the NFL Network, the Redskins are releasing Norman which means he can go wherever he wants in Free Agency. For some fans, it's certainly a surprising move but it makes sense considering his lack of production on defense.
After the news broke, numerous fans took to social media as they displayed their desire for Norman to come to their teams. While he may not be the best corner in the league, he is still good enough to make an impact on a team that is lacking in their secondary. A team that comes to mind is the Philadelphia Eagles who cut Orlando Scandrick earlier this year.
Who would you like to see Norman play for next?
