"They just noticed him fall off the screen and then they heard heavy breathing," Suffolk County police detective, Lt. Kevin Beyrer, said, according to the New York Times. "It was horrible that they had to witness this."
Thomas Scully-Powers, the 32-year-old son of Dwight Powers, interrupted his father's Zoom call and began beating on him in view of the camera. He then exited the room and returned holding a knife. Witnesses on the call phoned 911 as the elder Powers was pulled off off-screen by his son.
When police arrived on the scene, the son lept out of a second-floor window and fled to a nearby deli. There, he attempted to clean himself of his father's blood using bottles of Dr. Pepper. He was soon found by police.
Suffolk County District Attorney, Timothy D. Sini released a statement commenting on the unsettling case of patricide.
"This is a shocking and disturbing case," Sini said in a statement. "By the defendant’s own admissions, he brutally stabbed his own father repeatedly until he was certain he was dead. The investigation into this horrific murder is still ongoing, but rest assured we will obtain justice for the victim."

"You are the chosen ones because of a fate unimagined when you began your Wright State adventures,” the Hollywood legend said. “You started in the olden times, in a world back before the Great Pandemic of 2020. You will talk of those earlier years in your lives in just that way."
"Part of your lives will forever be identified as 'before,' in the same way other generations tell time like 'that was before the war, or 'that was before the internet,' or 'that was before Beyoncé.' The word 'before' is going to carry great weight with you," he added.
"You’ve gone from student to graduate with more that is expected of you than to just be an American. You’ve had to be responsible Americans. You’ve had to be good Americans. Good Americans that have made sacrifices that have saved lives.
"You will be enlightened in ways your degree never held in promise," Hanks said. "You will have made it through a time of great sacrifice and great need. No one will be more fresh to the task of restarting our normalcy than you — our chosen ones."
Hanks, 63, tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year.

“Here’s a chance where we could perhaps interview some high-level talent because we are going under the guise of being a really famous show,” Pieters told Insider. “And we thought, why don’t we take a shot in the dark and go for the most exclusive, hard to reach person in the world, with absolutely no hope of it working?”
“I think it’s also very hard when you are live on an interview with who you think is James Corden or Jimmy Fallon, to go, ‘Hold on a second, that’s not Jimmy Fallon,’ when it sounds like him,” Pieters continued. “You’d have to be pretty sure of yourself and pretty brave to stop the interview.”
Afterward, Baskin spoke to Us Weekly about the prank: “I was suspicious as we were doing it because the questions appeared taped,” she said. “But had no idea it would turn out to be such a fun prank. It gave us a very welcome good laugh. I appreciate their cleverness and that they created their video in a way that I don’t feel was in any way mean-spirited.”

Tiffany Haddish Got Caught Going To The Bathroom While On Zoom
Tiffany Haddish told Ellen Degeneres the story of how she accidentally got caught using the bathroom while she was still on camera during a zoom meeting.
Tiffany Haddish does not seem like the type that would embarrass easily, but even she couldn’t help but feel a little humiliated after she was called out during a Zoom meeting for using the toilet while she was still on camera. Due to social distancing measures as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, tons of in-person gatherings are now taking place over video chat, and Zoom seems to be the most popular platform to carry out business meetings, university classes, and other multi-person affairs. While Zoom has been a useful tool as folks adjust to these unprecedented times, there are a few worst case scenarios that certainly can occur. In fact, Tiffany Haddish recently experienced a Zoom amateur’s worst nightmare, when she decided to take her phone with her to the bathroom during a virtual meeting, not realizing that everyone could see and hear what she was doing.

The actress joined Ellen DeGeneres on her at-home talk show on Wednesday, where she was asked by the host about a different incident in which she forgot to wear a bra during a live cooking show. However, Ellen pointed out that that wasn’t the only instance in which Tiffany made an embarrassing mistake on camera recently.
“Okay so, Zoom—I hadn’t really been using it at that point in time, and I thought whoever is on the front thing, whoever’s talking, that’s who we can see,” Tiffany explained to Ellen. “So I was like ‘I ain’t going to say nothing and I’ve got to use the restroom.’ I didn’t want to leave the meeting either, so I took the phone with me, ’cause I didn’t know you could scroll over and everybody can see everybody. I didn’t know. So I took it with me and then I start using the bathroom and they’re like ‘Tiffany, you know we know you’re in the restroom right now.’ I was like, ‘Y’all can see me?!'”
After she and Ellen share a laugh, Tiffany added, “Needless to say, I sold that show!” Besides reliving her recent humiliations, Tiffany also told Ellen about the virtual date she went on with rumoured boyfriend, Common, through the Bumble dating app. “I am single, but I’m dating,” she explained. “I’ve been using Bumble. Bumble started this virtual dating thing and it has been great. I went on a virtual date with Common and it was super fun.” Patiently waiting for the day these two finally confirm their highly speculated relationship.
Nike’s Latest Basketball Sneaker Revealed: Detailed Photos
The Nike Air Zoom BB NXT% is coming soon.
Yesterday, Nike unveiled the shoes that would be a part of their Olympic collection and in the process, they unveiled a whole new basketball silhouette. This shoe is being dubbed the Nike Air Zoom BB NXT%. Just like other shoes in the NXT% line, this model attempts to improve the performance of athletes by taking them to brand new heights. What makes this shoe so impressive is the fact that it is made with both React and Air Zoom technology in the midsole.
The overall aesthetic of the shoe is black with green accents and so far, it looks pretty clean. According to Sole Collector Ross Klein, Senior Creative Director for Nike Basketball footwear spoke about the shoe. “The game and the athletes have evolved in this new era of basketball,” he said. “We now have athletes that are ‘positionless’ and generate the values of all positions on court. Within the NBA alone these positionless athletes face a grueling journey, starting with the offseason training, then preseason, and into the 82-game season, playoffs, Finals. Fatigue is the enemy and endurance is the goal.”
For those interested in copping the new shoe, it will be available as of July 1st at Nike retailers.
