Earlier today (April 18), the K-pop idol unveiled a series of gorgeous concept images for her upcoming solo  record. Donning a long pink dress, the singer indulges in pink and red-coloured drinks and desserts in the new photos. ‘MY’ is due out on April 27 at 6pm KST.

The idol has also shared the official trackless for ‘MY’, which will be led by the single ‘Drive’ and comprise a total of six tracks. Notably, (G)I-DLE bandmate Yuqi had helped compose the mini-album’s final track ‘소나기’, while Miyeon wrote the lyrics.

‘MY’ will mark Miyeon’s first official solo release since debuting as a member of (G)I-DLE in 2018. However, the song has contributed to the soundtracks of K-dramas over the years, including Tale Of The Nine-Tailed and Moonshine. She also sung the song ‘You Were My Breath’ for CS Happy Entertainment’s collaborative album in May 2021.

She is also the third member of the group to go solo so far, following bandmates Soyeon with the single ‘Jelly’ in 2017 and Yuqi with her ‘A Page’ single album in May 2021. Soyeon most recently made a solo comeback in July last year with her first mini-album ‘Windy’.

The vocalist’s solo endeavour comes just a month after (G)I-DLE released their debut studio album ‘I Never Die’ and title track ‘Tomboy’. In a review of the record, NME’s Tanu I. Raj had described it as a “revelatory experience”, and awarded it four stars.
