Rick Ross was arrested on Thursday, October 1, following allegations by his ex-girlfriend that he had previously assaulted her. The rapper, whose legal name is William Leonard Roberts II, surrendered to authorities and was booked by Miami Beach police on one charge each of felony battery by strangulation and misdemeanor battery.
At a court hearing on Thursday morning, Judge Mindy Glazer set the bond for Rick Ross at $5,000. The court also issued a stay-away order, which prohibits the artist from contacting his ex-girlfriend, Jazzma Kendrick, including through social media platforms. His arraignment hearing is currently scheduled for October 22.

The allegations surfaced on Saturday, September 26, when Kendrick claimed on social media that Ross had physically assaulted her, resulting in a split lip. She subsequently shared images of her injuries online. According to Miami Dade County court records, the incident reportedly took place on the morning of August 28.
In the official arrest report, Kendrick alleged that Ross slapped her repeatedly, struck her in the chest, and slammed her against a wall after grabbing her by the ponytail. She further stated that he hit her in the face while she was bent over, causing the injury to her lip. Kendrick provided law enforcement with timestamped photographic evidence to support her claims.

Known for hits such as “Aston Martin Music” and “Hustlin’,” the rapper remains a prominent figure in the hip-hop industry. This is an ongoing story, and further updates will be provided as they become available.
