Billie Eilish launches her own vegan Air Jordan sneakers

Billie Eilish has launched her own vegan Nike trainers – you can see the preview images below.

The ‘Happier Than Ever’ pop star revealed the two pairs of Air Jordan sneakers – one lime green, the other a neutral beige – on Instagram yesterday (September 20). Both styles are “100% vegan with over 20% recycled material”.

“I am SO excited to finally share my two Air Jordan silhouettes with you!!” Eilish wrote, adding that “it was such an incredible and surreal experience getting to create these, especially in a sustainable fashion”.

The trainers will available from September 27 via Eilish’s official store, and on Nike SNKRS on September 30.

Speaking to Nike (via Page Six), the singer explained that the Air Jordan 15 was her “favourite” style – recalling “begging” for a black-and-red pair. “When I got them … I looked at them as if they were $1 million sitting right in front of me,” she said.

Eilish hailed Nike’s Air Jordan KO 1s as “the best shape with everything – with pants, with shorts, with dresses, with skirts … I love the way they make your legs look.”

As for her choice of lime green, she said: “This colour is such a classic, stupid, little ‘old me’ thing, I guess. I really wanted to kind of have almost like an ode to myself … this was me, for a while.”

Billie Eilish pauses London show over fan safety concerns

Billie Eilish paused her latest London gig last night (June 11) after fans had to be pulled out of the crowd at The O2.

The pop star is in the middle of a residency at the south London venue and will play six gigs there this month before and after headlining Glastonbury.

According to reports, Eilish stopped the gig mid-show to check on fans, telling them to “take a step back” and “give everybody space” after noticing they were squashed at the front of the room.

“People were fainting and getting pulled out,” she said. “It’s hot, I know – it’s crowded, it’s hot. Are you squished a little bit? If someone looks a little woozy, just tell someone, OK? Don’t try to save feelings.”

Earlier this year, the singer halted two gigs in the US to check on fans’ welfare. “If you want to sit down, you are allowed,” she told fans at one concert in New York. “Go ahead, sit down, take a breath.”

The O2 has gone vegan for the star’s residency, which will also feature a multi-day climate-focused event, dubbed ‘Overheated’. Last week (June 9), it was confirmed that the majority of animal products would be removed from the area during the residency.

In a statement, the venue said: “Within The O2 arena, together with our catering partner, Levy’s, we have committed to go 100 per cent vegan on food throughout the arena for the Billie Eilish residency. This includes a range of vegan food offerings on concessions and the removal of certain items.”

The venue will also use PET fabric standing wristbands for the first time in “an effort to combat single-use plastic”.

The ‘Overheated’ event will bring together climate activists, musicians and designers at venues across The O2 to “discuss the climate crisis and the work they are doing to make a difference”, according to a press release.

In a four-star review of Eilish’s Manchester gig last week (June 8), NME said: “For Manchester, this is a long-awaited return of a star they backed as early as anyone, further proof that this city’s crowds are as devoted and brilliant as anywhere on the planet. But for those heading down to Worthy Farm’s hallowed fields in a couple of weeks – or planning to catch on TV – it appears we’re heading to something mighty special.”

Billie Eilish gave a rain-soaked performance of ‘Happier Than Ever’ and paid tribute to Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins at the Grammys 2022 tonight (April 3).

The title track from the pop star’s latest album is nominated for Record Of The Year and Song Of The Year tonight, while the LP is up for Album Of The Year.

Eilish began her performance in a set of a house that had its furniture on the ceiling and its floor filling with water. She wore a t-shirt with Hawkins on as a tribute to the iconic drummer, who died last week (March 25).

Later in the song, she joined her brother Finneas and drummer Andrew Marshall on the rooftop. When the track erupted into its final throes, rain began to pour down on the musicians as Eilish rocked out on her knees.

Silk Sonic opened the show with a performance of ‘777’, while Olivia Rodrigo delivered a powerful version of her breakout single ‘Drivers License’. BTS, meanwhile, became undercover agents for a stunning rendition of ‘Butter’.

Foo Fighters were also scheduled to perform at the ceremony, but cancelled their appearance after the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins last week (March 25). The band have won three Grammys so far today, including Best Rock Album for ‘Medicine At Midnight’.

Billie Eilish adds Australia and New Zealand leg to ‘Happier Than Ever’ world tour

Billie Eilish has announced a new suite of dates for her forthcoming world tour, taking the pop megastar to Australia and New Zealand next September.

The five-date leg is set to kick off at Auckland’s Spark Arena on Thursday September 8, before Eilish and her entourage dip off to Australia for shows in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth.

Ticket sales for all dates will go live at 11am local time next Friday (October 15), with a series of presales running from the Monday prior (October 11). More details on those are available from a site purpose-built for the tour.

Eilish has also teamed up with environmental nonprofit REVERB to make the tour “climate positive”, which a statement says will “[eliminate] significantly more emissions than the tour creates”.

Each show will host a popup area – branded the Billie Eilish Action Village – focussed on climate action and justice, with the aim being to “host and support local and global environmental organisations as well as a comprehensive program via REVERB’s Music Climate Revolution campaign”.

According to REVERB: “In addition to reducing the tour’s environmental footprint, the initiative will support projects that directly and measurably eliminate greenhouse gases.”

The new run of shows come on the back of a sprawling world tour announced earlier in the year, with over 50 dates split between the UK and US throughout the first half of 2020. The UK jaunt has been particularly hyped, with Eilish playing six arena shows in London alone.

The world tour comes in support of Eilish’s second album, ‘Happier Than Ever’, which landed in July to widespread acclaim. In a five-star review, NME’s El Hunt said it “fully establishes Billie Eilish as one of her generation’s most significant pop artists – and, better still, does so without repeating a single trick from the debut that turned her life upside down”.

Singles from the album included ‘My Future’, ‘Therefore I Am’, ‘Your Power’, ‘Lost Cause’ and ‘NDA’, as well as its title track. The release was followed up last month with a concert film, Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Eilish would be headlining next year’s Glastonbury Festival, making her the youngest ever solo act to top the festival’s bill. The news came shortly after her headlining set at the Austin City Limits festival, during which she condemned Texas’ newly enacted anti-abortion laws.

The singer has been a staple of the 2021 festival circuit; in addition to her Austin City Limits set, Eilish has delivered headline performances at the likes of Life Is Beautiful and the iHeartRadio Music Festival. In her set leading last month’s Governor’s Ball, she called out the festival’s security for “not paying attention” to her rowdy audience.

Also this month, Eilish was confirmed to be voicing Sally in a pair of live-to-film concert performances of The Nightmare Before Christmas, set to take place in Los Angeles at the end of October.

Elsewhere in 2021, Eilish has been flexing her entrepreneurial muscles – in September alone, she launched her own vegan Air Jordan sneakers and a branded Amazon Echo Studio speaker.

Billie Eilish to voice Sally in ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ live-to-film concert

Billie Eilish has joined the cast for a pair of forthcoming performances of The Nightmare Before Christmas, in which she’ll voice the character Sally.

The shows, which will take place at Los Angeles’ Banc Of California Stadium on October 29 and 31, have been billed as “live-to-film” concert experiences, meaning the Disney film will be played on-screen with live musical accompaniment from an orchestra.

Eilish will perform ‘Sally’s Song’ from the 1993 Tim Burton musical, with the film’s composer and original cast member, Danny Elfman, set to reprise his role as Jack Skellington. “Weird Al” Yankovic will voice Lock, and Ken Page, another original cast member, will be singing the part of Oogie Boogie.

In a statement, Elfman said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Billie joining up with the nightmare crew! This will be a real treat (not a trick)!”

It’s the first time since 2018 that The Nightmare Before Christmas live concert shows will take place, having previously occurred at the Hollywood Bowl.

The October 29 show starts at 8pm PDT, with the October 31 performance at 6:30pm PDT. Tickets for both can be found here.

Eilish recently released her sophomore album ‘Happier Than Ever’, which received five stars in an NME review.

Madonna was speaking to Elle, on which Eilish is this month’s cover star, about Eilish’s change of look for her new ‘Happier Than Ever’ album era.

Madonna said: “The problem is, we still live in a very sexist world where women are put into categories.”

“You’re either in the virgin category or the whore category. Billie started off in a non-sexualized category, not pandering to the masses and not using her sexuality in any way, which is her choice and God bless her for that — after all, she’s been a teenager all this time.”

“Women should be able to portray themselves in any way they want. If Billie were a man, no one would be writing about this.

BLACKPINK and Billie Eilish are just two of the musician acts who are set to appear in YouTube’s newly announced special, Dear Earth.

The YouTube Original special, which is set to premiere sometime on October 23, was first announced at the 2021 Summer TCA press tour on Thursday (September 23), according to Billboard. It is set to match the format of last year’s Dear Class Of 2020, with keynote speeches, musical performances and more.

Dear Earth will “inspire and motivate audiences to create a better, healthier, existence for the planet through contributions from a wide range of global leaders, creators, celebrities and musicians,” said YouTube’s global head of original content Susanne Daniels.

Aside from BLACKPINK and Eilish, Dear Earth will also feature appearances from other musicians such as Jaden Smith, Anitta, Tinashe and Lil Dicky. Other guests include global leaders such as former US President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai.

In other news, Lisa of BLACKPINK recently broke the the two-year record previously held by Taylor Swift’s 2019 hit ‘ME!’ for the most-viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a solo artist with ‘Lalisa’. According to data collected by YouTube (as of September 13), the BLACKPINK singer’s debut music video earned 73.6million views in the first 24 hours following its release.

Meanwhile, Eilish recently teamed up with Amazon to launch her very own Echo Studio speaker. The device is adorned with her ‘Happier Than Ever’ album cover art and comes after the singer recently launched her own vegan Nike trainers.

Taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada, last night (September 20), Eilish delivered her first full set in roughly 18 months, performing a mix of old favourites and new cuts from her second studio album.

Eilish opened her set with ‘Bury a Friend’ and ‘You Should See Me in a Crown’, before crying to the crowd: “This feels like a dream I’ve had many, many times in the last year… I can’t tell you how excited I am to be with you guys and to see all of your beautiful faces.

“You guys want to give me all the energy you’ve been saving up for a year and a half? Please, I would be honoured.”

She then broke out the three new songs for their live debut – ‘I Didn’t Change My Number’, ‘NDA’ and ‘Therefore I Am’.

Other ‘Happier Than Ever’ tracks on offer included the album title track, ‘Halley’s Comet’, ‘Billie Bossa Nova’, ‘Oxcytocin’, ‘Lost Cause’, ‘OverHeated’ and ‘Your Power’.

Billie Eilish adds sixth and final UK tour date due to overwhelming demand

Billie Eilish has added another extra date to her 2022 UK tour due to “overwhelming demand”, after tickets for the previously announced shows sold out.

The pop star is set to bring her ‘Happier Than Ever’ tour to the UK and Ireland next summer, kicking off in Belfast on June 3.

The new date – which comes after already adding a new show back in May – will take place at London’s The O2 on June 26, bringing Eilish’s total number of shows at the venue on this stint up to six. She will also play at the arena on June 10, 11, 12, 16 and 25.

Pre-sale tickets go on sale on Wednesday (August 11) at 9:00am. To qualify, fans need to purchase a copy of Eilish’s new album, ‘Happier Than Ever’, from her webstore before 5:00pm BST tomorrow (August 10).

General tickets for the sixth and final extra date go on sale on Friday (August 13) at 9:00am BST.

The ‘Happier Than Ever’ tour will begin with a North American leg next February, with the first show taking place in New Orleans. Before that, Eilish will headline a handful of US festivals late this year, including Las Vegas’ Life Is Beautiful, Delaware’s Firefly, New York’s Governors Ball and Austin’s Austin City Limits.

On Friday (August 6), Eilish scored her second UK Number One album with ‘Happier Than Ever’.

The US pop star has gone straight in at the top of the charts with her new record, which was released on July 30 and was previously reported to be outselling the rest of the Top 10 combined in the midweek update.

Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa and Coldplay to play iHeartRadio Festival 2021

Billie Eilish, Coldplay, Weezer and Dua Lipa are among the acts set to play this year’s iHeartRadio Festival.

The two-day event is coming to Las Vegas in September, and will also feature Olivia Rodrigo, DaBaby, Maroon 5, Khalid and more.

On September 17-18 at the T-Mobile Arena, acts will perform across two stages. On the second day of the festival, a special Daytime Stage will be held at the AREA15 venue, featuring Saweetie, All Time Low, 24kGoldn, and more alongside DaBaby and Rodrigo.

Tickets go on sale on June 25 here, while the event will also be streamed live online.

“This year’s festival will be historic for many reasons,” iHeartMedia’s Tom Poleman said of the forthcoming event in a statement. “Not only will it be the first time all of these artists are together on the same stage, but also because it’ll be in front of a live audience.

“We’ve all been waiting for this moment — live music is back, and we’ll be celebrating like never before.”

iHeartRadio is the latest in a long line of festivals Billie Eilish is set to headline on the back of her forthcoming second album ‘Happier Than Ever’.

Across the second half of 2021, she will top the bill at Delaware’s Firefly Festival alongside Tame Impala, Lizzo and The Killers, while also playing New York’s Governors Ball, where A$AP Rocky and Post Malone also lead the names.

In October, she’ll then join Stevie Nicks, Miley Cyrus, Erykah Badu, Megan Thee Stallion, St. Vincent, Phoebe Bridgers, Doja Cat, Tierra Whack and more in Texas for Austin City Limits 2021.

In the UK, meanwhile, festivals remain on hold after the government announced a delay of the easing of lockdown restrictions until mid-July.

Las Vegas music festival Life Is Beautiful has revealed the lineup for its September event, with Billie Eilish, Green Day and Tame Impala announced as the headliners.

Rounding out the lineup are A$AP Rocky, Haim, Modest Mouse, Young Thug, Glass Animals, St. Vincent, Brittany Howard, Ashnikko and Yaeji. The performances will be spread across 18 city blocks between September 17-19.

Festival organisers announced earlier this month that Life Is Beautiful would be proceeding in 2021, following its cancellation in 2020 due to the pandemic.

“While there is still uncertainty in the world, we are watching problems evolve into possibilities and are beginning to see all the right signs,” festival partner Justin Weniger said in a statement.

“Much like most of our audience, we’re excited to reacquaint ourselves with a world where discovery and serendipity are once again the norm.

“We’re ready to hear those three magical words echo from the stage, ‘Are you ready?’ Most importantly, we’re ready to feel the power and connection that comes with live experiences.”

As the vaccine rollout continues in the US, a notice on Life Is Beautiful’s website explains that organisers will “provide our community with pertinent information on festival preparedness, including what may be required beyond a ticket to enter festival grounds”, as the date approaches.

“We are in close contact with local and state officials, working together to create the safest possible environment. Our team continues to closely monitor and learn from best practices as they are implemented across the events industry to provide the best in class and safest experience possible.”

Ryder, who co-wrote his Eurovision song ‘Space Man’ with the Grammy-winning songwriter Amy Wadge and Max Wolfgang, recently said about Eurovision: “Having been a fan of Eurovision since I was a kid, I am so honoured to have been presented with the opportunity to sing at an event alongside some of Europe’s most talented creatives, performers and songwriters.

“I hope to sing my head off in a way the UK can be proud of, and to showcase a song I wrote with my friends last summer makes the whole experience even more special. See you in Turin legends!”

The singer, from Maldon, Essex, found viral acclaim after he started posting covers and at-home karaoke tracks at the beginning of lockdown in March 2020. By the end of the year, he was crowned TikTok’s most popular artist.

Ryder has even received an influential pledge of support from both Damiano David of last year’s Italian winners Måneskin and previous Austrian winner Conchita Wurst – you can watch Ryder meeting Wurst here.

This year’s Eurovision is taking place at the PalaOlimpico in Turin, Italy following the country’s victory in last year’s competition, which saw Måneskin take the top prize.

At the semi-final on Tuesday (May 10), Ukrainian act and competition favourites Kalush Orchestra progressed through to Saturday’s Grand Final (May 14).

Speaking to NME earlier this month, Kalush Orchestra discussed their Eurovision song ‘Stefania’ and what it means to be representing their country during a time of war.

Frontman Oleh Psiuk explained how participation in this year’s Eurovision was a “huge responsibility” given the ongoing war with Russia, saying: “To represent Ukraine in the international arena is always a responsibility, but to represent it during the war is just the highest responsibility possible.”

Duran Duran share new single ‘Black Moonlight’ featuring Nile Rodgers and Andy Taylor

Duran Duran have shared their latest single, ‘Black Moonlight’ which features Nile Rodgers and former bandmate Andy Taylor.

‘Black Moonlight’ is the second of three original tracks the band have created for their upcoming Halloween-inspired, mostly covers album ‘Danse Macabre‘. The track sees them reunite with Rodgers, who is their longtime friend and frequent collaborator. The Chic co-founder previously produced Duran Duran’s 1986 LP ‘Notorious’. The track follows the album’s lead single of the same name.

Speaking about ‘Black Moonlight’ in a press release, keyboardist Nick Rhodes said: “Nile Rogers is a force of nature. When we get into a room, we start playing, and magic happens. Nile always says that CHIC is his first band, and Duran Duran is his second. Thematically, I personally prefer the moon to the sun. Simon took the idea and ran with it.”

The band’s frontman, Simon Le Bon, added: “‘Black Moonlight’ is this classic Duran Duran-Nile Rodgers collaboration. When Nile started playing his guitar in the studio, he really inspired everyone with his riff, and the song just kind of wrote itself.”

Former Duran Duran guitarist, Andy Taylor, is also featured on the track. He recently revealed that the reason he quit Duran Duran was due to “creative” reasons, and was “not personal”.

Taylor played with Duran Duran on-and-off between 1980 and 2006, and was set to reunite with them last year when they were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame, but a setback in his treatment for stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer forced him to miss the occasion.

‘Danse Macabre’ is set for release on October 27 on Tape Modern via BMG. It will feature a mix of new original songs, reworkings of songs from the band’s catalogue and covers. Pre-order the LP here.

Some of the covers on the LP include Billie Eilish’s ‘Bury A Friend’, Talking Heads’ ‘Psycho Killer’ (featuring Måneskin bassist Victoria De Angelis), The Rolling Stones‘ ‘Paint It Black’, The Specials‘ ‘Ghost Town’, Siouxsie and the Banshees’ ‘Spellbound’ and Cerrone’s ‘Supernature’.

Speaking of the album, Rhodes shared: “The idea was born out of a show we played in Las Vegas on October 31st, 2022. We had decided to seize the moment to create a unique, special event…the temptation of using glorious gothic visuals set to a dark soundtrack of horror and humour was simply irresistible.”

He continued:“That evening inspired us to explore further and to make an album, using Halloween as the key theme. The record metamorphosed through a pure, organic process, and not only was it made faster than anything since our debut album, it has also resulted in something none of us could have ever predicted.

“Emotion, mood, style and attitude have always been at the heart of Duran Duran’s DNA, we search for light in the darkness and darkness in the light, and I feel we have somehow managed to capture the essence of all of that in this project.”

Grammys nominations 2023: Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Adele and Harry Styles score the most nods

The nominations for the 2023 Grammys have been announced with Beyoncé, Kendrick Lamar, Adele and Harry Styles leading the way.

The official Grammys YouTube hosted a livestream today (November 15) for the announcement which you can watch below, with the winners set to be announced at the 65th Grammy Awards ceremony on February 5, 2023.

Beyoncé clocked up the most nominations with nine nods including Record Of The Year and Album Of The Year, closely followed by Lamar with eight nominations.

Adele picked up seven nominations while Future, Harry Styles, Mary J. Blige and DJ Khaled each scored six nods. Jay-Z, who picked up five nominations, is now tied with Beyoncé for the most nominated artists in Grammy history, having clocked up 88 nods in total.

Notably, the 2023 Grammy Awards will be the first time Beyoncé and Adele will go head-to-head for Record, Album, and Song Of The Year since 2017, when Adele swept all three categories.

Meanwhile, both Wet Leg and Måneskin were both nominated in the Best New Artist category.

Grammy Awards to return to Los Angeles in February 2023

Following its April 2022 edition in Las Vegas, Nevada, the Grammy Awards will make a return to Los Angeles in February 2023, it was announced today (July 14).

The event is set to take place at the city’s Crypto.com Arena – formerly known as Staples Center – on Sunday February 5. The show will be (per Pitchfork) broadcast live on CBS as well as livestreamed on Paramount+.

Nominations for the 65th awards are set to be announced on November 15 2022.

Last month The Recording Academy announced the addition of new Grammy Awards for the 2023 ceremony. Among the new categories are Songwriter Of The Year (Non-Classical), Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games and Other Interactive Media and a Special Merit Award for Best Song For Social Change.

Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said in a statement: “The Academy’s top priority is to effectively represent the music people that we serve, and each year, that entails listening to our members and ensuring our rules and guidelines reflect our ever-evolving industry.”

The 2022 Grammy Awards this past April saw Jon Bastiste, Silk Sonic and Olivia Rodrigo become the night’s big winners. Performances were given by BTS, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber and more.

The event also remembered late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died, aged 50, on March 25. The band – who won three awards – had been due to perform at the ceremony but cancelled after their bandmate’s passing.

The Recording Academy have announced details of brand new Grammy Awards for the 2023 ceremony.

The new categories include Songwriter Of The Year (Non-Classical), Best Alternative Music Performance, Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games and Other Interactive Media, while a Special Merit Award will be handed out for Best Song For Social Change.

“We’re so excited to honour these diverse communities of music creators through the newly established awards and amendments, and to continue cultivating an environment that inspires change, progress and collaboration,” Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr said in a statement.

“The Academy’s top priority is to effectively represent the music people that we serve, and each year, that entails listening to our members and ensuring our rules and guidelines reflect our ever-evolving industry.”

Songwriter Of The Year, Non-Classical
Recognises the written excellence, profession and art of songwriting honouring the most prolific non-performing and non-producing songwriters for their body of new work released during an eligibility year.

Best Alternative Music Performance
A track and single category that recognises the best recordings in an alternative performance by a solo artist, collaborating artists, established duo, or established group.

Best Americana Performance
A track and single Category that recognises artistic excellence in an Americana performance by a solo artist, collaborating artists, established duo, or established group.

Best Score Soundtrack For Video Games and Other Interactive Media
Recognises excellence in score soundtrack albums comprised predominately of original scores and created specifically for, or as a companion to, a current video game or other interactive media released within the qualification period.

Best Spoken Word Poetry Album
An album Category that recognises excellence in spoken word albums specific to the performance of poetry with or without music.

Special Merit Award: Best Song For Social Change
This Special Merit Award will be determined by a blue ribbon committee and ratified by the Recording Academy Board of Trustees. Submissions must contain lyrical content that addresses a timely social issue and promotes understanding, peacebuilding and empathy.

The 2022 Grammys were held at the start of April this year. The big winners of the night included Jon Batiste with five awards, Silk Sonic with four and Olivia Rodrigo with three. You can catch up with all of the winners from the night here.

Performances came from BTS, who turned undercover agents, Billie Eilish, who paid tribute to Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins, H.E.R.’s star-studded appearance, Silk Sonic’s mood-setting opener, Justin Bieber’s soulful version of ‘Peaches’ and more.

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy also delivered a video message to the event, urging the world to support his country as the Russian invasion of it continues.

The Grammys also remembered Taylor Hawkins, following his death on March 25 at the age of 50. Foo Fighters – who won three awards at this year’s event – were scheduled to perform but pulled out due to the drummer’s passing.

Coachella 2022 fans are “bummed” about Kanye West dropping from line-up, “excited” for other headliners

Coachella attendees have spoken to NME about who they believe should’ve replaced Kanye West on the line-up, and how they feel about the rapper pulling out of the festival.

After a year which saw him banned from the 2022 Grammys and banned from Instagram, Kanye decided to exclude himself from America’s biggest music festival, just 11 days before he was set to headline.

News of his departure was followed by the announcement that The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia would replace him on the line-up, closing out Sunday night on both this weekend (April 15 – 17) and next weekend (April 22 – 24) of the festival which takes place in Indio, California.

“I feel like he’s dealing with some demons and anyone who needs support, we should give them that grace,” Emma McCardell, a 26-year-old attendee from Seattle, Washington said when asked about Kanye’s drop from the line-up. “If people need space, let them have their space.”

Her partner, James who is also 26, shared in that sentiment. “It sucks that it was so last minute, but it feels like we’re watching him go through the worst moment of his life which is super weird because he’s such an outspoken guy.”

Both fans bought their tickets before seeing the line-up and were excited to see Phoebe Bridgers, Vince Staples, Denzel Curry, and Billie Eilish.

“She’s such a performer, and she cares so deeply about her music,” Emma said of Eilish. “I’m really excited to see it happen.”

As far as who they would’ve gone with for Sunday night’s closeout set, James said the “Silk Sonic rumours” had gotten him really excited, before adding that Elton John would’ve also been a great pick “for the history”.

Dan Flynn, a 23-year-old attendee from New Port Beach, said he “really liked” that Kanye pulled himself from the line-up, adding that he’d “prefer to see someone whose along the lines of EDM music”.

His friend, 25-year-old Evan Clark of Los Angeles, agreed. “As much as we love Kanye West, I feel like he was going to pull out the whole time,” he said. “Old Kanye is not new Kanye. Hopefully, Swedish House Mafia fills his boots.”

Clark also said that he thought Goldenvoice, the producers of Coachella, missed out on the opportunity to bring out “an old school rock and roll band” before saying: “my new vote is AC/DC to replace Kanye.”

Another attendee called Jane Marshall from Los Angeles said that she was “bummed” at first that Ye was dropped from the line-up but also felt like he needed to “sit down” because of his recent remarks.

She also remarked, however, that after watching the Netflix documentary Jeen-Yuhs: A Kanye Trilogy, she’d had renewed “respect for Kanye as an artist” and felt like she was “missing out” on not seeing him.

Although Marshall mentioned she wasn’t too excited about The Weeknd headlining since she’d seen him play multiple times in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, she was excited about Megan Thee Stallion‘s set, although she felt the Houston-born rapper should have actually topped the festival’s bill.

Nima Chetlany, from San Francisco, was “pretty bummed” when Kanye pulled out, ” because she’s a fan even though he’s somewhat questionable.” She would’ve preferred a Tame Impala or Frank Ocean, headline, however, as opposed to Swedish House Mafia, or at the least, The Weeknd take the stage by himself.

The Coachella 2022 weekend has been filled with surprise guests and performances. Arcade Fire played a secret set on the first day of the festival, performing tracks from upcoming new album ‘WE’, due out next month.

Harry Styles headlined the night and was joined on stage by Shania Twain, who performed her hits ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ and ‘You’re Still The One’.

During his 18-song set, Styles gave a live debut to record-breaking comeback single ‘As It Was’ as well as live debuts to new tracks called ‘Boyfriends’ and ‘Late Night Talking’.

Carly Rae Jepsen also debuted a brand new track called ‘Western Wind’, which she had been teasing for the past few weeks; Justin Bieber teamed up with Daniel Caesar for a performance of their collaborative single ‘Peaches’.

Friday also saw Phoebe Bridgers joined by Arlo Parks for two songs during her set. On Saturday Billie Eilish, gave a record-breaking performance, where she was joined onstage by Damon Albarn for a two-song cameo.

Watch Johnny Marr dedicate ‘There Is A Light…’ to Taylor Hawkins, Dave Grohl and Foo Fighters

Johnny Marr dedicated his performance of ‘There Is A Light That Never Goes Out’ at this year’s BBC 6 Music Festival to Taylor Hawkins.

The Foo Fighters drummer died on March 25 at the age of 50. He was found in his hotel room in Bogotá, Colombia, hours before the band were were set to headline a festival in the city as part of a South American tour.

Marr played The Smiths classic at Cardiff’s Great Hall on Sunday (April 3). “This is a song that we’d like to dedicate to our friend Dave Grohl,” he said, introducing the track.

“Lots of love going out to you guys and all the Foos family. We miss you Taylor, we won’t ever forget you. God bless you. This is from all of us.”

Elsewhere, during his set, Marr played The Smiths’ ‘Panic’ and ‘This Charming Man’, plus a cover of Depeche Mode‘s ‘I Feel You’. He returned for an encore to play ‘Bigmouth Strikes Again’ and ‘How Soon Is Now?’.

The Grammys memorialised Hawkins with a special tribute at the Las Vegas ceremony last night (April 3).

“This was the moment in the show when I was supposed to be introducing the Foo Fighters,” host Trevor Noah explained during the ceremony. “We would have been celebrating with them as they won three Grammy awards earlier today.

“But they are, of course, not here due to the passing of their legendary drummer Taylor Hawkins. Our thoughts go out to Taylor’s family, his friends, the Foo Fighter family and all of their fans around the world. We’d like to take a moment now to remember Taylor.”

Earlier in the ceremony, Billie Eilish also paid tribute to Hawkins during her performance of ‘Happier Than Ever’. For the appearance, the pop star wore a t-shirt with the late rockstar on the front of it.

In other news, Johnny Marr and Modest Mouse revealed last month that they had started working on new music together, which would be their first since Marr’s stint in the band from 2006-2008.

Speaking to NME last year, Marr said: “I would like for it to happen one day.”

“That’s not me being coy – I just miss them. We’ve just got so much planned for the next couple of years. We’ve got the double album, touring and then I’m going to probably do another film, but I’d probably have to do a new record with Isaac. They’re the one band that I’d rejoin.”

Nas honours rich back catalogue with Grammys 2022 performance

Nas honoured his rich back catalogue during his performance at the Grammys 2022 in Las Vegas tonight (April 3).

The legendary rapper was nominated for Best Rap Album for ‘King’s Disease II’ and Best Rap Song for the DMX and Jay-Z collaboration ‘Bath Salts’.

Taking to the stage at the MGM Grand, Nas’ performance opened with a brief clip of his 2003 single ‘I Can’, taken from the album ‘God’s Son’. He then followed it with 2006’s ‘Where Y’All At’ and the ‘Stillmatic’ track ‘One Mic’.

The star completed his performance with a version of ‘Rare’, which appeared on the nominated ‘King’s Disease II’. During that song, he changed the lyric “We been doing gangsta shit for a long time” to “We been making gangsta hits for a long time”. Watch clips from the performance below. now.

Foo Fighters were also scheduled to perform at the ceremony, but cancelled their appearance after the death of Hawkins last week (March 25). The band have won three Grammys so far today, including Best Rock Album for ‘Medicine At Midnight’. Billie Eilish used her rain-soaked performance of ‘Happier Than Ever’ to pay tribute to the late drummer.

Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow team up for grand Grammys 2022 performance

Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow teamed up for a grand performance at the Grammys 2022 in Las Vegas tonight (April 3).

The rappers recreated their recent collaboration ‘Industry Baby’ on the MGM Grand stage, where Lil Nas X and his backing dancers dressed in glittering marching band uniforms.

As Harlow delivered his verse, the pair dipped from side-to-side in unison before splitting up to groove across the stage.

Lil Nas X kicked off the show by himself with a snippet of ‘Dead Right Now’ before the screens behind him showed criticism and scare-mongering about himself and his “Satan shoes”. He then segued into a version of the hit single ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ before moving into ‘Industry Baby’.

The star is nominated for five awards at the Grammys 2022 tonight and could take home two of the categories left to be announced. They are Record Of The Year for ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’ and Album Of The Year for ‘Montero’.

BTS become undercover agents for stunning ‘Butter’ Grammys performance

BTS became undercover agents for a stunning performance of their nominated, chart-topping single at the Grammys 2022 tonight (April 3).

Last year, the seven-member record-breakers performed their hit single ‘Dynamite’ remotely from Seoul, while in 2020, they teamed up with Lil Nas X for his performance of ‘Old Town Road’.

BTS’ performance began with singer Jin operating computers that looked straight out of a spy movie, while Jungkook was lifted down onto the stage on a black pole. The other members were shown sitting at various tables in the crowd, with V flashing a mysterious card at Olivia Rodrigo.

When Jungkook hit a button, ‘Butter’ began booming around the arena and the group danced from the tables to the stage, where they performed in an art gallery setting.

Midway through the performance, security lasers shot across the stage and BTS danced over, under and in between them in a complex section of choreography. Jin, who had stayed at his part of the set with a black glove covering his injured left hand, joined the rest of the group for the final chorus, along with numerous backing dancers.

When the performance ended, BTS were given a standing ovation, while host Trevor Noah exclaimed: “Are you kidding me, what was that?! BTS, everybody!”

The group are nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for ‘Butter’ at this year’s Grammys and are up against Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga, Doja Cat and SZA, Justin Bieber and Benny Blanco, and their ‘My Universe’ collaborators Coldplay. The British band’s frontman Chris Martin recently said he was rooting for BTS to win the category, despite Coldplay’s nomination.

If BTS do win the award it will be their first Grammy win and they will make history as the first Korean pop act to be victorious in the awards show’s history.

The Grammys 2022 is taking place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas tonight, after the show was postponed from its planned January event due to the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. Other performers set to appear tonight include Lady Gaga, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Lil Nas X and Jack Harlow, Nas, Justin Bieber, and more. Silk Sonic opened the show with a performance of ‘777’.

There’s ‘No Best Musician,’ Says Grammy Winner Jon Batiste

The Recording Academy nominated all of the above for Album of the Year at the 64th Grammy Awards, and though Jon Batiste ultimately took home one of the night’s most coveted Gramophones, he wants the audience to know there are no superlatives when it comes to art. In fact, as you can see in the video below, he appeared genuinely confused when presenter Lenny Kravitz revealed the winner on Sunday (April 3) at Las Vegas’s MGM Grand Garden Arena. Of course, that shock gave away to pure joy soon after.

“I believe this to my core: There is no best musician, best artist, best dancer, best actor,” Batiste said after taking the stage for his acceptance speech. “The creative arts are subjective, and they reach people at a point in their lives when they need it most. It’s like a song or an album is made and it almost has a radar to find the person when they need it the most.”

Batiste led the 2022 Grammy nominations with a whopping 11 nods, including Record of the Year for “Freedom,” which he performed earlier in the night. His energizing set started with a piano, included backup dancers galore decked out in multicolor suits, and ended with him dancing on Billie Eilish’s table, as one does.

“I just put my head down, and I work on the craft every day. I love music, I’ve been playing since I was a little boy. It’s more than entertainment for me, it’s a spiritual practice,” he continued, shouting out his family members and hugging producer Ryan Lynn for helping him with We Are. “I didn’t do it by myself.”

He went on to thank his fellow nominees, spreading positivity to the whole crowd: “Every single artist that was nominated in this category I actually love and have had out-of-body experiences with your music. I honor you, and this is for real artists, real musicians, let’s just keep going. Be you, that’s it. I love you even if I don’t know you! Goodnight!” Find all the winners here.

Here are all the winners from the Grammys 2022 rolling list

The Grammys 2022 takes place tonight (April 3) in Las Vegas, with performances from the likes of Silk Sonic, BTS, Lady Gaga, Olivia Rodrigo and more lined up.

The main bulk of the awards will be handed out at the pre-telecast ceremony, which will be broadcast on the Grammys website and YouTube channel.

Then, at 8pm EST (1am BST), the main ceremony will air and hand out the biggest trophies of the night, including Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year, Album Of The Year and Best New Artist.

Going into the event, Jon Batiste leads the nominations with 11 nods, while Justin Bieber follows on eight. Doja Cat, Rodrigo, and Billie Eilish all have seven nominations each.

A tribute to Foo Fighters’ drummer Taylor Hawkins will also be staged following the iconic musician’s death last week (March 25). Foo Fighters were scheduled to perform at the ceremony, but have since pulled out, as well as cancelling their planned touring schedule.

Joni Mitchell to present at the 2022 Grammys

Joni Mitchell will be making a rare appearance at this year’s Grammys, where she is due to present an award.

The singer-songwriter, who has largely kept out of the public eye since suffering a brain aneurysm in 2015, is also nominated for Best Historical Album for ‘Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 1: The Early Years (1963-1967)’.

On Friday (April 1), Mitchell was named Person of the Year at the 2022 MusiCares gala. The special event took place at the MGM Grand Conference Center in Las Vegas, raising funds for the charity MusiCare’s programmes and relief efforts.

A number of of musicians took part on the night to pay tribute, including Beck, St. Vincent, Jon Batiste, Mickey Guyton, Leon Bridges, Herbie Hancock, Sara Bareilles, Brandi Carlile, Lauren Daigle, Chaka Khan, Angélique Kidjo, Cyndi Lauper, Pentatonix, Billy Porter, Stephen Stills, Black Pumas, and Allison Russell.

During the event, there was a group singalong of ‘Big Yellow Taxi’, with Mitchell taking to the stage for the first time in nine years to deliver the final line: “Put up a parking lot”.

Mitchell said in her acceptance speech (via Pitchfork): “Everybody was splendid; it just kept getting better and better and better. I can retire now and just let other people do it.”

The 2022 Grammys ceremony will take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas tonight (April 3).

Lady Gaga, who has been nominated for five awards, is the latest artist to be confirmed to be performing at the event. She joins Olivia Rodrigo, BTS, Billie Eilish, Silk Sonic, Lil Nas X with Jack Harlow, John Legend and J Balvin with Maria Becerra.

Foo Fighters had also been set to perform live, but the band have since cancelled their appearance, as well as all of their upcoming tour dates, following the death of their drummer Taylor Hawkins last week. The Grammys will, however, pay tribute to Hawkins during the ceremony.

Meanwhile, Mitchell recently declared her support for Neil Young, announcing plans to remove her discography from Spotify in protest of the service platforming misinformation about the COVID-19 vaccine.

She also gave her stamp of approval to the title of Harry Styles‘ recently-announced third solo album, ‘Harry’s House’.

Mitchell included a song called ‘Harry’s House/Centerpiece’ on her 1975 album ‘The Hissing of Summer Lawns’. Shortly after Styles announced the album on Twitter, she retweeted his post, writing “love the title”.

Silk Sonic to open 2022 Grammys Awards

Silk Sonic have been added to the star-studded line-up of acts performing at this year’s Grammy Awards.

The duo – comprised of Bruno Mars and Anderson.Paak – will open the ceremony ahead of performances by Billie Eilish, BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow, John Legend, J Balvin and more.

In addition to a segment showcasing the songs of late Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim (who died last November, age 91), the 64th annual Grammys ceremony will also feature a tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who died last week at the age of 50.

Days before his death, Foo Fighters were named as one of the performers slated for this year’s ceremony. The band have not commented on the performance, but according to a new press release (via Variety) the band are not listed on the official list of Grammy performers.

Foo Fighters recently cancelled all of their upcoming tour dates following the death of Hawkins.

The band was mid-tour in South America when Hawkins died with his last show taking place March 20 at Lollapalooza Argentina. Foo Fighters had planned a full year of touring, as well as their originally scheduled Grammys performance this Sunday (April 3).

Silk Sonic made their TV debut at last year’s Grammys, with a performance of their mammoth single ‘Leave The Door Open’. This year they’re nominated for four awards: ‘Leave The Door Open’ is up for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, and Best R&B Song.

Elsewhere, Jon Batiste leads this year’s Grammy nominations, appearing in 11 categories including Album of the Year (for ‘We Are’) and Record of the Year (‘Freedom’). Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and H.E.R. follow with nominations in eight categories, while Rodrigo and Eilish are both up for seven. Lil Nas X is up for a total of five awards, including Record, Album and Song of the Year.

Hosting this year’s ceremony – which will take place at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 3 – is comedian and Daily Show host Trevor Noah. He was announced as the show’s host last December, marking his second year in a row.

Grammys set to pay tribute to Taylor Hawkins at this weekend’s ceremony

The Grammys will pay tribute to the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins during their 2022 ceremony on Sunday (April 3).

This year’s Grammys are set to take place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this weekend, and Foo Fighters were previously announced as one of the live performers on the night.

The band have since cancelled all of their upcoming live gigs “in light of the staggering loss of our brother” Hawkins, who passed away last Friday (March 25) in Bogotá, Colombia at the age of 50.

Speaking to Variety in a new interview, Jack Sussman, CBS’ executive vice president of specials, music and live events, has now said that Hawkins’ memory will be honoured during this year’s Grammys.

“We will honour his memory in some way,” Sussman said. “We want to figure out what is the right thing to do that is respectful to everyone involved. We’re patient. We’ll be planning right up until the very end.”

Grammys organisers have also confirmed today (March 30) that Silk Sonic, J Balvin (with Maria Becerra), John Legend and Carrie Underwood will all perform at this year’s ceremony.

They join a line-up which already includes the likes of Billie Eilish, Nas and BTS.

Foo Fighters, who have been nominated for three Grammys at this year’s ceremony, told their fans in a statement last night (March 29) that they were “sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned”.

“Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together,” the band added.

The likes of Paul McCartney, Elton John, Joan Jett, Coldplay, Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher, Slash and Stevie Nicks have all paid tribute to Hawkins’ life and career since the news of his death was confirmed.

Dave Grohl has released metal album as the fictional band Dream Widow, who feature in the plot of the Foo Fighters‘ recent comedy-horror film Studio 666.

In the film, the band hire a mansion in Encino to record their 10th studio album, but Grohl soon becomes possessed by a curse and begins viciously attacking his bandmates. We learn that decades earlier, Dream Widow experienced a similar fate, with the band recording a “lost album” before their frontman murdered the rest of the band.

Now, that “lost album” is available to stream. The eight-track release, which was previewed with ‘March Of The Insane’ last month, opens with the frenzied, rapid-fire death metal of ‘Encino’.

Tracks like ‘The Sweet Abyss’ and ‘Angel With Severed Wings’ explore more melodic territory, while ‘Becoming’ draws heavily on doom and sludge influences. The record closes with the epic, sprawling 10-minute-long ‘Lacrimus dei Ebrius’. Listen to the album in full below:

In a four-star review of Studio 666, NME praised the Foo Fighters’ onscreen presence. “Comfortable, confident and characterful, they play to individual strengths that illuminate personalities too often hidden behind their scene-stealing frontman,” Mark Beaumont wrote of Grohl’s bandmates.

“Pat Smear makes for a classic comedic bumbler, shameless in his product placement. Keyboardist Rami Jaffee plays the band horndog with theatrical relish, right up to a demise that gives new meaning to the phrase ‘doing the nasty’. Bassist Nate Mendel, it turns out, has serious acting chops, and Dave’s own screen charisma is apparent.”

Yesterday (March 24), the Foo Fighters were added to the performance roster for next month’s Grammy Awards ceremony, along with Nas and H.E.R. Kanye West Grammys performance pulled over “concerning online behaviour”

Kanye West has reportedly had a planned performance at the 2022 Grammys cancelled over “concerning online behaviour”.

Earlier this week, the rapper was temporarily barred from accessing Instagram, with a Meta representative claiming the rapper’s recent posts violated policies on hate speech, bullying and harassment.

The ban came after Kanye posted an image of the Google search page for Trevor Noah – who commented on West’s treatment of ex-wife Kim Kardashian on Tuesday’s (March 15) episode of The Daily Show – alongside a caption containing racial slurs.

According to Variety, West’s team were then contacted by the Grammys to reveal that “unfortunately” a planned performance – which wasn’t announced as part of the first slew of artist reveals earlier this week – will no longer take place due to Kanye’s “concerning online behaviours,” citing a report in the Blast.

The 2022 Grammys are set to be hosted by Noah, though it’s not been confirmed whether that is part of the decision to remove Kanye’s performance from the running order.

Rapper and recent Kanye collaborator The Game discussed the reported cancellation in an Instagram post, writing: “Time & time again they show us that they only want to STEAL the culture, not allow you to ever be their equals. In a more than obvious move for reasons of minuscule actions…. The Grammys have at the last minute decided to pull (Kanye West) from performing on the show as if we didn’t know it was coming.

“Could be because (Trevor Noah) is hosting and there was a conversation held amongst his team & the academy that led to the decision or because Ye’s account was suspended just days ago for reasons unknown, especially in a world where all the negativities of the world can be found on the same app with no repercussions or suspensions….

“We’ll just say it’s all of the above & a continuous disrespect for us & all that we have brought to the table in entertainment, media & sports over the last 100 years especially.”

Among the artists that are still set to play at the 2022 Grammys are Billie Eilish, BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow, Brandi Carlile and the Brothers Osborne, who will all take to the stage at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena on April 3.

Eilish and Rodrigo are nominated for seven awards each on the night while Lil Nas X is up for five.

Jon Batiste leads the nominations for the 2022 Grammys with nods in 11 categories. Justin Bieber, Doja Cat and H.E.R. are also up for eight trophies.

Back in January, the Academy postponed the planned show in Los Angeles, saying that the rise in the COVID-19 Omicron variant was to blame. It was then announced that the event would now take place in Las Vegas for the first time in the event’s history.

Life Is Beautiful took home the prize for Best Festival In The World at the BandLab NME Awards 2022.

After taking a year off due to COVID in 2020, the fest made a triumphant return in 2021 with headliners Tame Impala, Green Day and Billie Eilish.

While on stage at last year’s festival, Eilish made news when she debuted three tracks from her album ‘Happier Than Ever’, and told the crowd it felt like “a dream I’ve had many, many times in the last year… I can’t tell you how excited I am to be with you guys and to see all of your beautiful faces.” You can see NME’s photos from Life Is Beautiful 2021 here.

“With each line-up, we are determined to give festival-goers an experience that celebrates all corners of music,” Craig Asher Nyman, Head of Music & Programming at Life Is Beautiful said of this year’s event.

Meanwhile, Arctic Monkeys have a busy summer ahead, with headline performances scheduled for Reading & Leeds 2022 and Ireland’s Electric Picnic 2022.

The group – who are said to have “pretty much finished” their long-awaited seventh album – have also announced a string of European headline dates as well as various festival shows including at Sziget Festival, Cala Mijas, Rock En Seine and the inaugural Primavera Sound Los Angeles.

Hundreds of exclusive releases have been revealed for Record Store Day 2022, including records from the likes of Blur, Taylor Swift, Elvis, Bring Me The Horizon, Pinkpanthress, Sam Fender, Blondie and many more. Check out the full list below.

Returning for the 15th time on April 23, RSD will see hundreds of vinyl, CD and cassette releases sold exclusively through independent record shops – with over 260 stores from every corner of the UK and thousands around the world taking part in the celebrations.

This comes after the Entertainment Retailers Association’s recent report that showed that vinyl sales in the UK are at their highest level in over 30 years, growing a further 23 per cent year on year in 2021.

Mina Koroma, store manager at Liverpool’s Jacaranda Records, said: “We can’t wait to see Record Store Day back in full force at Jacaranda Records. Our community of musicians, DJs and record fans thrives on getting together to share ideas and experiences.

“RSD is always a great chance to do that, especially at such a challenging time for shops like ours. We’re excited for scenes all over the UK to keep growing their collections and adding to their fond memories of times spent at record stores.”

Last month, Taylor Swift was announced as the first global amabassador of Record store Day 2022.

“I’m very proud to be this year’s Ambassador for Record Store Day. The places where we go to browse and explore and discover music new and old have always been sacred to me,” the singer explained. “Record stores are so important because they help to perpetuate and foster music-loving as a passion. They create settings for live events. They employ people who adore music thoroughly and purely.”

Swift went on to acknowledge the “rough few years” that independent record shops have faced as a result of the COVID pandemic, adding: “We need to support these small businesses more now than ever to make sure they can stay alive, stay eccentric, and stay individual.”

Pavement announce expanded reissue of Terror Twilight

The long-awaited deluxe edition of Pavement’s final album will be released by Matador on April 8.

Terror Twilight: Farewell Horizontal expands the remastered original album with B-sides, home demos, rehearsal tapes, live recordings and the rough tracks from Pavement’s scrapped session at Sonic Youth’s Echo Canyon studio.

It features 45 tracks in total across 4xLPs or 2xCDs, 28 of them previously unreleased. Hear one of those unheard tracks, “Be The Hook”, below:

Terror Twilight: Farewell Horizontal includes a book with never-before-seen photos and commentary from band members Mark Ibold, Stephen Malkmus, Bob Nastanovich, Spiral Stairs and Steve West, as well as producer Nigel Godrich. Willow has shared a new remix of ‘Transparent Soul’ featuring Kid Cudi – you can listen to it below.

The pop-punk-inspired single appears on the singer’s fourth studio album, ‘Lately I Feel Everything’, which came out back in July.

Willow’s new take on the track boasts contributions from Cudi and Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, the latter of whom appeared on the original track.

“I am so grateful for this song because it was created during such an introspective time during quarantine,” Willow explained in a statement. “The solitude allowed me to introspect and really let go of the insecurities I had about making a project in this genre.

“I am humbled and grateful that Kid Cudi is now able to bring his magic to this remix.”

Willow is set to return to the UK next month for a one-off headline show at the Electric Ballroom in Camden, London. Tickets are now sold out.

Next year, the Los Angeles artist will support Billie Eilish at a number of US shows on her ‘Happier Than Ever’ world tour. Both singers appeared at Las Vegas’ Life Is Beautiful festival in September.

In a four-star review of ‘Lately I Feel Everything’, NME wrote: “With [this album], the child star-turned-music-innovator sends a fond farewell to adolescence. It was a risky move, switching from conscious R&B star to grungy punk beau, but Willow has knocked all doubts out of the park – again.”

The album also contains a team-up with Avril Lavigne, ‘Grow’. Its Dana Trippe-directed official video arrived last month.

Meanwhile, Kid Cudi has collaborated with Ariana Grande on a forthcoming track called ‘Just Look Up’. The song will appear on Netflix’s Don’t Look Up, which comes out next month.

The producer’s new track, which follows ‘Supersonic (My Existence)’ and ‘Too Bizarre’, hears his guest stars wax lyrical about their significant others and how they never want them to leave their side.

Over a slice of vibrant, bassy R&B production, Bieber sings: “I put in the work to hear you say (Don’t go, don’t—)/ Misery missin’ your company (Don’t go, don’t go)/ See ’em pullin’ at you that way (Don’t go, don’t—)/ Ooh, if this is where you supposed to be (Don’t go).”

‘Don’t Go’ marks the latest collaboration between Skrillex and Bieber, after the former wrote ‘2 Much’ for the latter’s recent album, ‘Justice’. Skrillex also produced ‘Sorry’ for Bieber’s 2015 LP, ‘Purpose’.

Earlier this week, Bieber announced a three-day festival for Las Vegas this October, boasting a line-up including The Kid LAROI, Jaden Smith and more.

The event will take place between Thursday October 7 and Sunday 10, with the festivities split between the Wynn Las Vegas’ XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club. It’ll kick off with an opening party at XS on the Thursday night, followed by a pool party on the Friday, and a “skate park takeover” and headline set from Bieber on the Saturday.

Meanwhile, the nominees for the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards have been revealed, with Justin Bieber leading the way on seven nominations.

Alongside Bieber in the list of nominations is Megan Thee Stallion with six nods, while others also nominated for awards include Billie Eilish, Drake, BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X and more.

This year’s awards are set to take place on September 12 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The Killers score seventh UK Number One with huge sales of new album ‘Pressure Machine’

The Killers have racked up their seventh consecutive UK Number One album with ‘Pressure Machine’.

Earlier this week, it was reported that the band’s latest record was outselling the rest of the top five combined.

By today, it had reached over 25,000 chart sales, 84 per cent of which were physical sales, including 5,400 on vinyl.

‘Hot Fuss‘ (2005), ‘Sam’s Town‘ (2006), ‘Day & Age‘ (2008), ‘Battle Born‘ (2012), ‘Wonderful Wonderful‘ (2017) and last year’s ‘Imploding The Mirage‘ have all previously reached the UK top spot. Their latest chart topper is an official UK Chart record for an international act, according to the Official Charts Company.

Other acts who have achieved a similar feat in the UK include Coldplay with eight Number Ones, Oasis with seven and Arctic Monkeys, who have six.

Elsewhere, Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘SOUR‘ went in at Number Two, Jungle‘s new album ‘Loving In Stereo’ is at three and last week’s Number One ‘We’re All Alone In This Together‘ by Dave is now at Number Four. Billie Eilish’s ‘Happier Than Ever‘ went in at Number Five.

Last night (August 19), The Killers showcased a host of tracks from their new album at a comeback show in New York.

The Las Vegas band debuted ‘In The Car Outside’ and ‘Sleepwalker’ during their gig at Terminal 5.

The Killers also played a host of classic hits including ‘Mr. Brightside’, ‘Smile Like You Mean It’ and ‘Human’ along with tracks from their 2020 album ‘Imploding The Mirage’ including ‘Dying Breed’, ‘Blowback’ and ‘Caution’.

The band performed last night’s warm-up show ahead of a concert at Central Park’s Great Lawn tomorrow (August 21) alongside Bruce Springsteen and Paul Simon.

Lil Nas X teases Kanye West-produced single ‘Industry Baby’ with Nike court trial skit

Lil Nas X has shared a clip in which he playfully mocks his upcoming Nike trademark infringement case, doubling it up as a teaser for a new Take A Daytrip and Kanye West-produced single featuring Jack Harlow.

Nas had previously released customised Nike Air Max 97s that reportedly contained human blood and is now facing court after Nike launched a successful trademark infringement lawsuit and the products were recalled.

In the run-up to his appearance, the artist has been sharing TikTok videos that make light of the affair, including one captioned: “The judge tomorrow when I try to flirt with him to avoid going to jail”.

Today (July 19), Lil Nas X shared a skit satirising the controversy via freelilnasx.com in which the singer and rapper plays a variety of different roles including a judge, lawyers for both the defendant and accused, and a member of the jury. The song is called ‘Industry Baby’.

In the video one of the recalled Nike shoes is passed around by the jury before the judge sentences Nas to “five years in Montero State Prison”.

‘Industry Baby’ is billed as “coming July 23”. Watch the clip and hear the first taste of the new single below.

The shoes in question were originally endorsed by the rapper as a tie-in with his track, ‘Montero (Call Me By Your Name)’, which was accompanied by a music video showing him sliding into hell via a pole and giving Satan a lap dance.

In April, Nike announced that there would be a recall of the shoe: “MSCHF has agreed to initiate a voluntary recall to buy back any Satan Shoes and Jesus Shoes for their original retail prices, to remove them from circulation.”

Lil Nas X was not previously named as a defendant in the case. As HITC points out, details about why Nike is appearing to sue the rapper are unclear because the company reached a settlement with MSCHF in April.

NME has reached out to Nas X’s representatives for comment.

Meanwhile, speculation is building that Kanye will drop a new album in the near future, following rumours of an exclusive listening event for the record being held in Las Vegas.

Fetty Wap’s estranged wife, Leandra Gonzalez, alleges that he was physically abusive to her and cheated on her during their short marriage.

Fetty Wap‘s estranged wife, Leandra Gonzalez, has opened up about the series of accusations she’s made against the rapper in legal documents from their ongoing divorce. Back in March, Leandra officially filed for divorce from Fetty after getting married last summer—however, reports state that she’s been desperate to flee their marriage practically since day one. Leandra has accused Fetty of allegedly abusing her and cheating on her in the past, and now, she’s included claims of drug and alcohol abuse.

According to court documents, Leandra has officially accused Fetty, whose real name is Willie Maxwell, of violently beating her less than a month after they tied the knot. She says that during an argument, he struck her in the face with a closed fist, which led to severe pain, bruising, and a black eye. She also claims that Fetty was a serial adulterer, alleging that he had affairs with multiple women and even traveled to the Bahamas with one of his mistresses on New Year’s Eve. According to Leandra, Fetty also got a tattoo of this mistress’ name on his wrist about a month before the trip.

According to TMZ, Fetty has denied all of Leandra’s accusations, claiming that he never physically, verbally, or emotionally abused her during their marriage. He also shut down her claims that he abuses drugs and alcohol, and denied the tattoo and the Bahamas story.

This is certainly not the first time the rapper has been accused of violence and abuse. Just last month, he was hit with a lawsuit by a woman who claimed that he had choked and punched her at an after party in June 2019. Prior to this incident, he was also accused of battering staff at a hotel in Las Vegas.
