Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2 "Flax" & "Linen" Coming Soon: First Look

Today has been filled with Yeezy news.

If you’re a fan of Kanye West and his Adidas Yeezy brand, today has been a great day. Various colorways have been reported for 2020 and a new “Cinder” colorway was revealed earlier in the day. Now, Yeezy Mafia has come through with even more information as they revealed two new colorways that are slated from the Spring of 2020. These two colorways are being dubbed “Flax” and “Linen.” In the image below, the “Flax” model is on the left while the latter is on the right.

Both shoes have the same yellow upper although they each feature different midsole, linings, and outsoles. For instance, the “Flax” offering has a pastel midsole while the lining and outsole are the same color as the upper. Meanwhile, the “Linen” version has a blue lining while a gum bottom lays underneath the yellow midsole. These differences may not seem like much but if you’re familiar with the Yeezy brand’s recent output, then you would understand the approach. The 350 V2 has seen various similar-looking colorways over the last year and these two offerings are an extension of that design philosophy.

Stay tuned for updates on these colorways as we will be sure to bring them to you. Let us know in the comments below what you think of these.

? Calvin Harris Is Dropping New Music Ahead of Coachella ?

It’s been eight months since we last got some new Calvin Harris, the 2019 update of his hit “I’m Not Alone” he dropped last April. Since he’s returning to the desert this April for the first time since he headlined the festival in 2016, it’s only appropriate that he’s dropping something new! Or somethings…

Responding to fans on Twitter today, Calvin Harris said we’ll be getting “plenty of music” in the next “couple of weeks” he thinks. This is fantastic news considering the constant quality of his productions and the possibility for special guests on the Polo Field.

Jeremy Lin Reacts To Receiving His "Fat" Raptors Title Ring

The ring was too big for Lin’s hand.

Last season, the Toronto Raptors defied the odds and won the Championship. It was their first title in franchise history and most of it was all thanks to the efforts of Kawhi Leonard. Overall, it was a big team win that required the help of various role players. Jeremy Lin was one of those players and turned out to be a fan-favorite amongst the Toronto crowd. This season, Lin is playing overseas and recently, he finally got his championship ring.

Lin took to Instagram where he flexed the ring and asked his followers about what he should do with the piece. As he explains, the ring is fairly massive and isn’t all that lowkey. If he were to wear it in public, people would notice it almost immediately.

“Uhhhh lollll. Finally got my @raptors championship ring to Beijing and this things fatttt!! FAT!” Lin wrote. “Thank you to Toronto and all the fans who made last year so memorable. Great ending to 2019, time to make more history in 2020. The ring literally takes over my hand…taking all suggestions on how to make it a lil more lowkey or should I just flex it everywhere I go lol ??”

Regardless of whether or not he continues to wear it, there is no denying how Lin will never forget the moment he became an NBA champion.

Carmelo Anthony Surprises Single Mom With New Car

Melo gives back to single mom in need.

Portland Trail Blazers star Carmelo Anthony and his Melo7 Tech Partners recently teamed up with online car dealership Gettacar to surprise a single mother in the Baltimore area with a new set of wheels.

According to the report, Shalita Addison’s 1997 Honda Accord has caused her plenty of stress over the years, making it difficult to get to work, doctor’s appointments and her daughter’s basketball games at Mount St. Mary’s. Addison won’t have those issues anymore, though, after she was presented with a 2017 Mazda CX, courtesy of Melo.

Check out the full story in the video embdded below.

On the court, Melo has provided the Blazers with a much-needed boost as he is currently averaging 16 points and 6 rebounds in a little more than 31 minutes of action per night. Portland’s season as a whole has not gone as planned, they’re currently sitting at 16-23 as we near the halfway point of the season. That said, the Blazers are just 1.5 games back of the eighth seed with plenty of games remaining.

Up next for the Blazers is a home game against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the NBA-leading Milwaukee Bucks.

[PREMIERE] Sullivan King Drops Hotly Anticipated Remix Of Kayzo "Alone"

Sullivan King and Kayzo have a bunch of material together due out in 2020, including a joint remix of “Helena” by My Chemical Romance. But the first to drop is a Sully remix of “Alone” featuring Our Last Night, from Kayzo’s latest album.

“Alone” was the lead single off Unleashed when Kayzo first announced it in 2019, so it holds a bit of a special place on the album. (Not to mention it’s also the first song on the album.) So when Sullivan King got his hands on it, you can bet he treated it right.

The remix starts just as the original did, but the first drop goes a much heavier bass route than the more instrumental direction Kayzo took. It’s wild and brash, exactly what we’d expect when someone tells you “Sullivan King remixed Kayzo.” But, it’s the final drop that really brings the metal into the equation, with intense guitar, drums, and screams.

“I’ve known Hayden (Kayzo) for as long as I’ve been in music and having seen what he’s done for our style of music and how he’s helped bring it beyond the EDM vein and into a more mainstream light is so awesome. He and I both come from the same background of music and that’s why I’ve personally had such a connection with his music and sound. I really am just happy to see how this scene of metal/rock and dubstep has progressed so fast, and wanted this remix to just keep propelling that vision I think we both have” – Sullivan King

Check out the remix below!

Kobe Bryant Admits He Was "Pissed" He Never Caught Michael Jordan’s 6 Titles

Kobe explains the competitive difference between him and MJ.

Kobe Bryant's appearance on the "All The Smoke" podcast with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson resulted in a number of anecdotes about the Black Mamba's life and career, including the "Kill List" he had at age 13 and the way he mentally attacked his opponents.

Additionally, Kobe peeled back the curtain on his relationship with Michael Jordan, and admitted to being "pissed off" that he never matched MJ's six NBA championships.

When Barnes, who played alongside Kobe for two seasons in L.A., brought up how Kobe always dreamed of 'sitting at the table' with MJ, Kobe quickly replied, “Oh, it pissed me off." In fact, Kobe revealed that his goal was to win eight NBA titles when he entered the league - sadly he had to settle for five.

The Black Mamba also shed some light on how he and Jordan are "really different." Says Kobe, “He’ll compete with any and everything. I wont, I only compete with things that I really am good at.” He also touched on some of his private conversations with Jordan, including how His Airness brought up the hypothetical matchup between his '91 Bulls team and the 2003 Lakers.

Check out that clip embedded below, and scroll to the 27:50 mark in the podcast for the full MJ discussion.

Future & Drake Perfected Menacing Luxury Raps On "Life Is Good"

What makes Future and Drake such an interesting duo?

When Nas dropped off “Life Is Good” in 2012, it felt like reassurance. A reminder that, in spite of a few concerting personal narratives, his equilibrium was back on track. Fast forward to 2020, where Future and Drake have borrowed the expression for their first major single since What A Time To Be Alive. One might think a moment of humility was upon us; both men have witnessed their personal baggage going public, with Drake admitting to having been “caught slipping” in this very chorus. Yet the stakes have become too high, the fortune too vast. When Future and Drake connect, it’s opulence over everything. It’s part of what makes them such an enjoyable partnership; the hip-hop equivalent to Fraiser and Niles Crane.

For the most part, Drake’s contributions to “Life Is Good” dwell on his material gains, and how they serve to contextualize his cultural dominance. Within the opening lines, he’s already dropped an elite level flex about his acrobatic Patek -- courtesy of Virgil Abloh, esteemed designer and writer of “Brick” on bricks. Shortly thereafter, he’s boasting about a “manor house in Rosewood,” establishing his reach as international. Essentially, he’s reminding his haters that they’re simply beneath him, a brazen cockiness no doubt emboldened by Future Hndrxx, the self-proclaimed “well-known nuisance.” He even makes reference to Kanye West hijacking June 2018 for his Surgical Summer, a move Drizzy deemed to be on some serpentine energy.

It’s interesting to note that while Drake remains adamant that “Life Is Good,” many of his chosen exhibits lead back to material wealth. For an artist who often speaks candidly about his insecurities and doubts on a personal level, some of his material with Future can feel a bit shallow in comparison. Even his section of the instrumental seems to lack any urgency, like a formidable mobster who may or may not have gained a wine gut. Still, what he loses in substance he makes up for in swagger; the duo have a formula and little reason to dete from it. Perhaps Drizzy is simply content to sit shotgun, as he did back on What A Time To Be Alive. In reality, “Life Is Good” remains Future’s show through and through.

Driving that point home further is a beat switch, a tactic that has become a staple in Future’s arsenal. Cementing Fewtch as a man of action, the spooky instrumental picks up the pace accordingly. While Drake opted for a success-is-the-best revenge approach, Future seems content to return to the trenches and handle his business accordingly. “I'm tryna avoid nonsense, get Osama sprayed in this bitch,” he raps. “They had the candlelight lightin' it up, n***a anybody could get it.” Cementing himself as a "poor high class" individual, there's a validity there that speaks to the appeal of Future's image. Even at his bougiest, there's an underlying sense of menace arisen from a hustler's personal experience. And damn it, the formula works. Perhaps simply it's a shared sense of expensive tastes that allow Future and Drake to find common ground -- neither one seems inclined to challenge themselves during a collaboration. It's not like they need to -- when it comes to providing elite-level threatening luxury raps, Future and Drake are the logical conclusion.

Stephen A. Smith Named Coach For The Celebrity All Star Game

Stephen A. Smith ready to patrol the sidelines like Pat Riley.

The celebrities taking part in the annual NBA All Star Celebrity Game have not yet been announced but we do know who will be coaching the squads. On Friday, ESPN's Stephen A. Smith posted a video revealing that he'll be coaching one of the teams against a roster led by fellow ESPN host, Michael Wilbon.

Says Smith, "I promise, I probably will get a technical foul. Maybe two. I might get thrown out, I don't know. I mean, after all, my man [Michael] Wilbon's coaching against me - you know how Wilbon tries to mess with me sometimes."

Stephen A. will no doubt add to the entertainment value of the Celebrity All Star Game, I only wish he were taking part as a player/coach so that he could show off that smooth jumper of his. The game itself will take place on Friday, February 14 at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois. Like previous years, the roster of celebrities from film, TV, and music will be joined by several NBA and WNBA legends.

Last year's game featured a home team made up of people who were born, raised, and/or played in North Carolina and/or South Carolina. Famous Los took home the MVP honors after scoring 22 points.

5th Ward Weebie, Pioneer Of New Orleans Bounce Music, Has Passed Away

He was 42 years old.

It was announced on Thursday that 5th Ward Weebie, a legend in the New Orleans Bounce scene, has passed away. He was 42 years old.

P Town Moe, a fellow New Orleans rapper and close friend of 5th Ward Weebie, whose real name was Jerome Cosey, addressed his friend's death in a video. He revealed that Weebie had been experiencing some complications after suffering a heart attack, which ultimately became fatal. "First his kidneys went and they had him on a machine to get his kidneys back working, then his lungs went the next day," he disclosed. In the video, taken only "5-10 minutes" after Weebie passed away, a heartbroken Moe describes the tragedy of losing his friend: "We've been close since we met in 1996. Always been a brother to each other...I don’t know why God wanted him at this time, but my brother gone."

The mayor of New Orleans, LaToya Cantrell, also expressed her fondness for Weebie and how deeply his passing has affected the community. "It broke my heart to learn that Jerome Cosey — our 5th Ward Weebie — has passed. Let me find out you didn't know who he was...He was an iconic personality, a New Orleans legend, and a beloved friend," she wrote. "He was the Bounce King, who showed us how to move, how to love, and how to bring passion and humanity to everything we do. New Orleans has lost a cornerstone of our culture. Our City will not be the same without his voice and his spirit. May he rest in God’s perfect peace." As Mayor Cantrell noted, 5th Ward Weebie was a New Orleans Bounce trailblazer, gaining popularity in the 1990s as a producer and rapper, as well as an actor. He was known for his work with Partners-N-Crime and Kane & Abel, as well as his contributions to Mystikal and Master P.'s music.

Fellow Bounce legend Big Freedia mourned Weebie's passing as well, posting on her social media accounts to pay tribute to her friend. "My Heart is so heavy right now ?," she wrote. "Shook by the passing of one of my brothers @5thwardweebie he will always be remembered we had some good times praying ?? for his family friends and fans we lost a real one ☝??✊??? Legend gone home to glory !"
