“Our names will be attached together for what we did.” TNT’s Inside The NBA crew gathered inside Staples Center on Tuesday night for an emotional, cathartic, discussion regarding the tragic death of Los Angeles Laker legend Kobe Bryant. During the hour-long pre-game special, NBA Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal delivered a tear-jerking tribute to his “little brother,” as he spoke candidly about his relationship with Bryant and how he has been dealing with the loss. Following his raw display of emotion, Shaq led a roaring “KOBE” chant with all of the fans who had gathered outside Staples Center to pay tribute to the...
I like Suga already. The rollout for Megan Thee Stallion’s highly-anticipated debut album has kicked off and we are gradually learning more details about it. Back in October, the Houston rapper revealed that she would be introducing a new alter ego on this project, whose name will also serve as the project’s title. Her fans got acquainted with Tina Snow and Hot Girl Meg through her previous releases and, now, Suga will get her chance to shine. We got our first taste of Suga last week when Meg released the album’s lead single, “B.I.T.C.H.“ While we can get a sense of Meg’s new...
Ari Shaffir apologizes for “celebrating” Kobe Bryant’s death. Comedian Ari Shaffir is known by many as “the guy with that Netflix special” but, to his core fanbase, he’s the prankster who makes light of celebrity deaths. It’s sort of become his thing. Describing his brand as “niche comedy,” Shaffir has been intensely criticized for his comments regarding the passing of Kobe Bryant. This weekend, the Los Angeles Lakers legend passed away as part of a tragic helicopter crash, killing nine people including Bryant’s 13-year-old daughter. Following the wildly unfortunate event, Shaffir took to social media to tell his fans...
Kobe had the Mamba Mentality from Day 1. In the aftermath of Kobe Bryant’s death, his former teammates, coaches, opponents, fans and others have taken to social media to share their fondest memories and favorite stories. Among them, one of Kobe’s childhood classmates, Brian Gefter, who shared some never before scene footage of a 15-year old Black Mamba putting on a show during a dunk contest. The video, taken in 1994, proves that Kobe had that confidence and Mamba Mentality well before he was a household name in the NBA. According to Gefter, the footage was taken during half-time of a...
Rick Fox opens up about what he and his family endured during Sunday’s rumor of him passing away too. On Sunday, shortly after the news broke that Lakers great Kobe Bryant had passed away in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, rumors started circulating that his former teammate Rick Fox was also on that helicopter ride and lost his life too. Thankfully, that turned out to be a false report as Rick was NOT on board of the flight, but he has since opened up about what his families had to endure during such difficult time. “My family went through,...
PARTYNEXTDOOR’s new album will be titled “PARTYMOBILE.” We’ve been waiting patiently for the next PARTYNEXTDOOR album (for years might I add…) and finally, the month has come. January 2020. Late last year, the OVO Sound artist announced that he would be releasing his new studio album to start off the fresh decade and, now that we’re in the final week of January, his fans were anticipating a surprise drop on Friday. Unfortunately, that won’t be the case (unless PND is playing us) because he just announced it has been pushed back. There’s some good news attached though. Christopher Polk/Getty...
Tragic news out of Jamaica. Dancehall performer Roxanna "Bumpa" Evans died after attempting a "Chuck Tru" dance move at a competition with a $3500 prize. The failed move was caught on tape. If you’re looking to buy, keep your wits about you. This may be a time for mourning for the millions of people who admired Kobe Bryant, but dealers and scam artists see the Los Angeles Lakers’ death as an opportunity to cash in. Shaquille O’Neal’s son Shareef O’Neal even sent out a tweet asking for L.A. to shut down for a day in order to have a parade dedicated to the NBA legend make its way through the city just to show just how important the basketball star’s legacy was to the world. While we wait to see if that will actually happen...
