‘EA Sports FC 25’ confirms release date

EA has shared a reveal trailer for EA Sports FC 25 and confirmed the release date – check out all the details below.

Following on from last year’s rebranded EA Sports FC 2024 after a split from FIFA, the latest instalment in the EA Sports FC series will see England hero Jude Bellingham as the cover star.

EA has also released a brand new reveal trailer for the game and shared a few new details about what players can expect.

According to EA, a new 5V5 Rush mode will enhance the multiplayer side of things, while FC IQ will give players “more tactical control than ever” as they manage their club to potential victory.

FC IQ is “an overhaul of tactical foundations across the game, which delivers greater strategic control and more realistic collective movement at the team level,” said EA. “FC IQ also utilises a new AI model, powered by real-world data, to influence player tactics through all-new Player Roles.” It comes after a report earlier this year claimed EA wanted to put more adverts in games and rely on AI more.

EA Sports FC 25 will also feature over 19,000 real world players across 700 teams in more than 120 stadiums and over 30 leagues. These include the UEFA Champions League, the Premier League and Europa League, alongside the UEFA Women’s Champions League and Barclay’s Women’s Super League. A post-launch update will also allow players to “live out the biggest storylines from the real-world” via the Live Start Points feature.

Women’s football will also be a part of Career Mode for the first time ever, “achieving parity with men’s football across all game modes and further contributing towards EA SPORTS FC’s commitment to grow the women’s game”.

EA Sports FC 25 will be released September 27 for PC, PlayStation and Xbox.

Pre-orders for the game are now live, with anyone ordering the Ultimate Edition before August 20 getting Early Access to EA Sports FC 25 alongside a number of in-game bonuses including “an untradeable Hero or ICON Player Item in FC 24 Ultimate Team from the Greats of the Game campaign and an untradeable Hero Player Item in FC 25 Ultimate Team with an upgraded ‘Prime’ version arriving in November.”

Speaking about being the EA Sports FC 25 cover star, Bellingham said: “I played this game with my brother all the time growing up, and I’ve always thought about how incredible it would be to one day be featured on the cover.”

“There have been so many iconic players on the cover over the years, and I am delighted to be the most recent English player to be bestowed with this honour since 2011. I’m also truly honoured to be featured on the cover of Ultimate Edition with true legends of the game both past and present in Beckham, Bonmatí, Buffon and Zidane,” he added.

In other news, Larian Studios isn’t done with Baldur’s Gate 3 just yet, with a new update coming in September and more planned beyond that.
