Australian electronic stalwart HAAi has reached a significant milestone in her career, unveiling a powerful new FADER Mix recorded live at this year’s Maiden Voyage festival. The set serves as a landmark moment for the producer, as it is composed entirely of her own original music—a concept she had never previously explored in a live environment.
Reflecting on the performance, which took place this past August, HAAi shared the intensity of the experience. “It felt like such an important step for me as an artist and really felt like the perfect place to debut this as a concept,” she explained. “I was on a scaffolding booth surrounded by about 3,000 ravers in a park in the middle of London. It was truly the highlight of the summer for me.”
The mix arrives on the heels of her latest album, DIGITiSE, released October 9, and follows the momentum of her 2025 project HUMANiSE. The recording captures the raw energy of a festival crowd, punctuated by the kinetic, bass-heavy production that has become her signature. For HAAi, the process of revisiting and reworking her catalog for this set was both nostalgic and cathartic.
HAAi’s journey into electronic music was unconventional. Originally a member of shoegaze bands in Australia, she began collecting records while touring the UK. After her band dissolved, she found inspiration working at a bar in Dalston, where she was mentored by the legendary DJ Fitz. This early exposure to rare percussive records and global sounds laid the foundation for her eclectic curation style.
Today, she draws inspiration from a wide circle of peers, including Eris Drew, Octo Octa, and Shanti Celeste. Her approach to the craft remains deeply rooted in community, favoring intimate, underground parties that prioritize musical exploration over mainstream trends. As she continues to evolve, HAAi remains committed to the collaborative spirit that first drew her to the decks, proving that even as her profile grows, her focus remains firmly on the music and the people who dance to it.
