Phoebe Bridgers’s ‘Lost Weekend’: Everything We Know So Far

Phoebe Bridgers has officially announced her new album, Lost Weekend, out August 14 via Dead Oceans. Alongside today’s announcement of the album title and release date, Bridgers has also shared the abstracted, sci-fi inflected cover for the forthcoming record.

Phoebe Bridgers’s ’Lost Weekend:’ Everything we know so far

Bridgers’s highly-anticipated announcement comes on the heels of a much-buzzed-about Madison Square Garden show raising money for the Community Justice Exchange’s Immigration Bond Freedom Fund, where tickets could be bought for as little as one dollar. Notably, the show had a strict no-phones policy. It was a preview of her then-soon-to-be-announced arena tour, which also has a no-phones policy. That tour sold out in North America and the UK within hours of the general on-sale.

The coming record will be her first solo album since 2020’s seminal, Punisher. The Ethan Gruska and Tony Berg-produced album was released at the beginning of the COVID-19 lockdown and its expansive, cinematic sound and melancholic lyricism defined the tumultuous period for many. Bridgers followed up the breakout success of that album with a 2023 release with boygenius — her group with friends Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker. That project earned the trio GRAMMY Awards for ‘Best Alternative Music Album’ and both ‘Best Rock Song’ and ‘Best Rock Performance’ for their song “Not Strong Enough.”
