Serato Brings Its Professional DJ Software to iPhone and iPad

Serato has officially released Serato DJ for iOS, marking a significant milestone by bringing the professional-grade software that has anchored club booths for over two decades to the iPhone and iPad. This mobile expansion arrives alongside the launch of Serato DJ 5.0, the latest iteration of the company’s flagship desktop program, ensuring a seamless transition for DJs working across multiple platforms.

The new mobile application retains the core functionality that has made Serato a staple in the industry. Users can access a comprehensive toolkit that includes Serato Stems, advanced effects, cue points, key sync, and recording capabilities. Furthermore, the app provides DVS support for setups utilizing traditional turntables and control vinyl. Compatibility is extensive, as the software connects to more than 120 controllers, mixers, and turntables from industry-leading brands such as Pioneer DJ, Rane, Numark, Roland, AlphaTheta, and Hercules.

A standout feature of this release is the introduction of iOS Transfer, a utility designed to streamline the workflow for mobile performers. This feature allows DJs to move tracks, crates, and metadata directly from their laptop library to a phone or tablet. Additionally, the app supports direct streaming integration, enabling DJs to pull music from Apple Music, Spotify, TIDAL, SoundCloud, and Beatport.

The software is available in both free and paid tiers. While the free version offers a robust entry point, professional features such as recording, DVS, Stems FX, advanced pad modes, and the majority of the 59 effects slots are reserved for the paid version. Notably, users with an active Serato DJ Suite subscription or license gain access to the paid mobile features at no additional cost.
