Rosalía is commemorating the first anniversary of her critically acclaimed project Lux, an album that has defined her artistic trajectory over the past year. Released on November 7, 2025, the record has now reached its one-year milestone, prompting the Spanish superstar to share a deeply personal reflection on its development and the intense world tour that followed.
In a candid essay titled ‘Dar A Lux’ published via Substack, Rosalía contemplated the weight of the creative process. She expressed curiosity regarding whether the album was crafted more for her audience or for her own internal needs, while also questioning if she would ever attempt to recreate such an ambitious undertaking. “When I was making this record, I was thinking about cathedrals. Trying to make a record that sounds like a cathedral, haha, I don’t know if I succeeded, but I suppose just having tried is enough,” she shared.
The artist also looked back on the grueling 57-date world tour that spanned three continents and 17 countries. While the tour was a massive success, she noted the physical and emotional toll it took, referencing a notable moment when she was forced to cut a show in Milan short due to illness.
To celebrate the connection she has fostered with her listeners, Rosalía curated a massive Spotify playlist titled ‘1.000 TEMAS QUE TE DAN LUX’. The collection serves as a sonic time capsule, featuring 1,000 tracks that accompanied her throughout the years of writing, recording, and performing Lux. The eclectic mix spans decades and genres, highlighting influences from legends such as Kate Bush, Patti Smith, Nina Simone, Queen, The Cure, and Caetano Veloso.
Beyond the digital celebration, fans can purchase a limited-edition anniversary box set. This premium collection includes the album pressed on etched vinyl, an exclusive gold-edition of the cover art, a lyric booklet, a custom handkerchief, and an embossed heart, all housed in a blue linen box. The set is currently available for pre-order at £125.
The cultural impact of Lux remains significant; the album earned a five-star review from NME, which praised its immense scope and defiance of modern, bite-sized listening habits. Rosalía’s momentum continues as she heads into the Latin Grammy Awards this November 12 with seven nominations, including the prestigious Album, Record, and Song of the Year categories.
Industry recognition for her work has also arrived from unexpected quarters. U2 is set to feature a tribute track titled ‘The Mirror Maker (Rosalía)’ on their upcoming album Carnaval De Luz. Bono has spoken publicly about his admiration for her artistry, even reaching out to the singer for assistance with Spanish lyrics, though the two have yet to meet in person.
